The shrimp dumplings were juicy and fresh, and I loved the salted egg yolk lava buns -- warm, soft, creamy, sweet and salty at the same time. So good! The chicken wings were crispy and flavorful, the pork ribs were super tender, and the chicken feet were soft and really tasty. We also tried their noodle soup, and the broth was warm, rich, and comforting. Perfect with all the dim sum! I came here with my mom after spending most of the day walking around at the swapmeet at Goldenwest College. We are happy we gave this place a try because we loved the refreshing sugarcane kumquat drink and their xa xiu meatball with baguette dish. The tomato sauce is addictive and comforting. Picked up a Too Good To Go surprise bag from 405 Vietnamese in Westminster and WOW -- this one hit the spot! Pickup was super easy and fast, I was in and out in about 2-3 minutes. Just showed the app, grabbed my food, and was good to go. I ended up getting two plates: One with white rice and two fried chicken drumsticks -- crispy and flavorful. The other with dry noodles, shredded chicken, and a side of soup. I warmed up the soup, tossed in the noodles and chicken, added a little sriracha... perfection. TLDR: It's one of those restaurant that will feel you and nothing else. The food is fine, decent even. It's just not a place I'd be looking forward to go back to unless they have a deal that I can't pass up. Chicken pho: Middle of the pack pho that have generous portions. I'm not a big fan of the fried scallions, but I understand their importance in flavoring the meal altogether. There was enough broth for 2 meals if you ration it, and the quality stayed the same even after reheating. Ground pork w/ Egg Noodles: My preferred dish between the 2 that I got. The egg noodles were cooked very well and the ground pork topping paired with it quite nicely. The pork was seasoned well, and the sauce made sure that the meal tasted the same the entire way. I would've liked it more if there was 10-15% more, but those are probably their margins. Service: I ordered to go, so there's not much to talk about here. Ambiance: Classic Garden Grove/Westminster vibe. Lights that haven't been changed in a decade. I found this place on the Too Good To Go app and the availability for a good lunch was there, I reserved one for me. Very friendly face greeted me and showed the app and waited patiently. In one word this place was pretty blah...I ordered two things, their Xiu Mai and the fried dumplings . Both items you can tell were frozen and the xiu mai had a weird smell when it got to my table. Hu tieu was decent at first but I noticed oddly the har gow had a weird smell. Place also lacked cleanliness but that's not the worst part. A young man working there was wiping tables, and chairs with the same cloth, I couldn't help but notice the condiments on the table were dirty (the bottles of sauces) on the outside. I was very disappointed, because I had eaten their food off the "too good to go app", and thought it was decent. We have not be back here for many years. We decided to revisit on a weekday to try their dim sum menu. This is not a place for your Sunday dim sum get together with family and friends to drink tea and catch up. They only have a handful selection for appetizers and then people can order noodles to complete the meal. We ordered a few usual dim sum dishes and they came out nice and hot. The taste of the dim sums was just okay, not bad however not great either. They do have a few promotions going on such as buy 2 noodles and get a free chicken dish or the price of the dim sum is less if you order more. Their noodle bowls were big and lots of toppings. It's affordable and good. ( Noodles Special is $12.88 ) You could also order a soup bowl of bone with marrow for a few bucks more. The only thing that could be better is their sizing: the bowl is just too big. Otherwise everything is perfect. No MSG dizziness afterwards. The place got updated so it good cleaner but still cluster. The service is good (as long as you don't get the owner, he can be pushy and loud, but I think that how he is). They advertised a "buy 2, get 1 free" promotion for noodles, but they didn't honor it as expected. The owner and server seemed annoyed when explaining the promotion, which caused unnecessary confusion--maybe it's an issue for other customers as well? The BOGO drinks were as advertised, but they only filled the cups about 1/4 full and packed the rest with ice, leaving a noticeable gap. If you're going to do that, smaller cups might be better. In the end, we paid for three bowls of noodles and got one to-go for free, but they never asked which noodle option we wanted for the free bowl. When I requested to-go boxes to pack my leftovers and asked for separate containers for soup and noodles, the server rudely told me they only had one type of container. However, the to-go order we received clearly had different containers. The lack of communication, poor transparency, and rude service made the experience feel untrustworthy.
