I only agreed to go here after checking if they had pho shrimp on their menu, and indeed they had it on there. Arrived after a late badminton session. It was a weekday and already late, so I was fine with just going home. However, I took the extra miles to drive over here only to be told they no longer serve shrimp and said I was looking at an old menu. Since I wasn't just looking at an old photo of the menu someone posted, I showed them their active menu on yelp and suggested they should update their menu. Usually, this place is my go-to. I go out of my way, they take card, it's quick, and they usually have seating. The owner or cashier is generally welcoming and great. However, I don't know what it is, but the last few times I ate there, it was lacking. Unfortunately, this marks my last time I will be going here. To paint the scene, I ordered a large pho. The server was carrying two bowls and was struggling. I even helped him by moving stuff away so he can set it down. Unfortunately, I was right that he could not carry two bowls. He was able to barely place down my bowl, but in the other hand, the bowl spilled onto my fingers and clothes. Given, it wasn't a huge amount, but this situation could have gone a lot worse. I understand people make mistakes, but you're carrying two boiling hot bowls of food. The server apologized and I just wanted to eat my food at this point. I didn't get a chance to look at his face, I was so shocked, and cleaning myself up. He leaves and I was checking on my belongings to make sure it was okay. He spilled it right on my Oura Ring which I am currently monitoring to make sure it functions properly. When it came to the Pho, it was lacking. Pho Good is usually better than this, but the broth was bland and too hot. It overcooked my noodles and it was too hot to eat. They used to give a ton of noodles and meat, but it looks like they have been reducing the amount. Given, this review isn't based on one experience for the food, but a few instances where I have given them the benefit of the doubt. However, it looks like those instances have ran out. I finished my food and went to pay with the manager. I told him about the instance and he had to grab a server to translate what I said. They both went back and forth and apologized. The other servers who were standing idly were listening and went to the back to talk. I paid, the manager apologized once again, and I left. Do mistakes happen? Yes, but certain ones shouldn't. Especially with two piping hot bowls of pho in your hands. It could have been disastrous and given if the server encountered someone else that wasn't so understanding, I don't know what could've happened. Please train your employees properly. It's okay to carry bowls one by one or even get another team member to help. It's not worth the possible issues in the future that could arise. This review wasn't solely based on this experience alone, but it may have influenced me being here to type it and share my two cents. Food-wise - I'm disappointed of the quality and taste of the food. Especially, since I know what it used to be like! It was probably in my top 5 in OC! However, with other competing pho places, I rather spend my money else where. If you like the convenience of this place taking card, then go for it. Pho Good used to be good. On the menu I saw there was (ox Tail) pho, so I decided to order it. I will be very honest the portions are big for the price. But I've tried ox tail that was better. The service was great. Their broth is amazing and also they are not cheap on meat and veggies either! Almost no pho places give you ngo om but they do! This is authentic Vietnam style I go to Vietnam once a year so I know what I'm talking about. Most places just give you some basil and that's it. You'd be lucky if you get the 2nd herb which is the ngo gai spiky herb. But at pho good they give you the 3rd herb which is what pho restaurants in Vietnam does. Ngo om is the stems with the little leaves. Oh also the lemongrass chili oil is the best here too! So much lemongrass flavor it's makes everything come together beautifully.
