One of the reasons we wanted to visit this restaurant was to try the NOLA Grilled Oyster Combo ($69.99). Along with that, our table also ordered: the quail with sticky rice ($20.99), salted fish and shrimp fried rice ($24.99), shaken beef with garlic noodles ($22.99), bok choy with sautéed garlic ($12.99), a hot tea ($4.00), Coca-Cola ($5.50), a mojito ($15.00), and a margarita ($15.00). With tax ($17.71), our ticket was $209.16 before gratuity. The NOLA Grilled Oysters come sizzling on a hot griddle, with four different fillings, four pieces each, for a total of 16 oysters. The price might seem a bit indulgent, but not if you consider the effort and ingredients that go into this presentation. Each type was flavorful, and there wasn't a single one I didn't enjoy. The salted fish fried rice was an interesting experience. I enjoyed the dish, though the salted fish was less salty than I expected. Someone in our group, who usually doesn't like salted fish fried rice because they find it too salty, actually liked this version for its milder flavor. The plate also includes four large shrimp. The shaken beef was tasty and tender; the garlic noodles were al dente and had just enough garlic--not excessive. The sautéed garlic added a smoky, nutty taste to the bok choy. The quail was marinated well and tasted good--but I wonder if it was fried just a bit too long. After this meal, I chatted with a friend who lives in the community. He'd been to this spot before but dismissed it as just another seafood boil joint. After our conversation, though, he said he'd be willing to give it another shot. Proceeded to ask the manager who replied it's just whatever shipment size arrives. There were a total of 5 stacked razor clams. It's definitely pricier than most other restaurants for the quality and quality of it. I've been here once before, but recently took my dad and bro here for my dad's birthday. Its a good size restaurant, nicely decorated and clean. Lots of seafood options. Between 3 people we got the mango squid salad, escargot, ship wreck platter which comes with a variety of grilled seafood and grilled corn, Thai style hot pot, and rice. I did pay $11 for a coconut ice cream coffee and it was worth it to try. I dont know how they make their coffee but I swear it had a slight taste of whisky or Henny but I ain't complaining. I dont usually eat escargot but I was able to eat a few here. Their ship wreck platter was expensive at $80 and their Thai hot pot was $52. I didn't bother to look at prices until after. A lot of the dishes you order here you can get for half the price somewhere else, but I guess it's for the dining experience. With tip, the lavish meal came out to $260 which is high for dining in this area. The prices alone wouldn't keep me away but im not sure if ill come back a lot. Maybe once in awhile. Off the menu, we ordered the baked seafood combo and the garlic crab combo. Here comes the verdict... The fried quails were very crispy, a bit salty, but the spicy dipping sauce was really good. The seafood salad was not what we expected. It was beautifully presented in a pineapple "bowl." Sadly, the bowl was very shallow and barely had anything in it. The salad was basically a bunch of red onions, carrots, pieces of sliced pineapple, microscopic sized squids, red clams, and 4 shrimp. This was definitely not worth $26.99!!!!! The naked seafood combo and the garlic crab combo were nicely flavored, but overly greasy. The crab tasted old, overcooked, and really dry. These 2 dishes were what lured us to the restaurant. We felt misled...For $29.99 each, the portions were really small! Definitely false advertisement, because they claimed to be the best seafood with the best deal in OC. Not true!! All other seafood on the list was just alright. As for sides we ordered cajun fries, street corn and spicy edamame. Nothing special to any of these items. I ordered 1 Dragon Fruit Lychee cocktail. Ok, wasn't going to say anything because I'm the type that comes to a restaurant and it doesn't have standards, I don't come back , and I won't complain but if it looks like a duck , walks like a duck, it's kind of a duck. They advertise happy hour everything is 9 bucks...9'pcs of crawfish on a sizzling platter doesn't make it happy hour, 1 pc of crawfish equals to a dollar? Garlic noodles using cheap chinese noodles and jam a bunch of garlic in there? Ok fine, we knew we were getting robbed, already here... Until other patrons ordered, more corn in the cob than proteins!! They complained but service seems to be nonexistent since they just waive them off... I'm Paying over 200 dollars to have to go up to counter for a meal very underwhelming...look at the previous two reviews guys...if it looks like a duck...walks like one...yea ...sad read more

Dear DSH, The 7-page book menu should have given it away. The waitress recommended quail over cajun duck. The quail was overcooked, dry, brunt, flavorless. The whole grilled squid was overcooked, dry, and salty. We ordered 4 items between 2 people and they kept trying to push us to order more things. There was no one in the place, but us. It was overwhelming empty with lots of dead flowers as decorations. Their raw oysters and lobster rolled served with fries were OK, but nothing to come back for. Please stop serving overcooked food with a smile like it is OK. We don't mind paying $20-25 per plate, if you don't serve seafood rubber. read more

I ordered the garlic noodle and samurai seafood combo. Everything was packed full of flavors and very much enjoyable. The garlic noodle was probably the best I've had so far. I got the garlic noodles that came with crab legs, and an extra order of just the garlic noodles. The samurai seafood combo came with all of my favorite seafoods: snow crabs, oysters, shrimps, and sea snails on a sizzling hot skillet. The crabs for this one were actually a little too salty for me, but I still enjoyed it! The menu in general has so many options. My waitress had to help me order, and that was helpful. The establishment itself was clean and spacious with cute decors. Bathroom was clean. I would love to try this place again. read more
