    Calamari
    Jenny T.

The restaurant felt really homey when I come in and sat down. The staff were all very welcoming and friendly. Even though there was a big birthday party sat in a whole section, they were still very prompt with service and checked on me a few times during my visit. For lunch I ordered a calamari and ribeye steak. My ribeye steak came out sizzling and covered in garlic on a bed of onions. I loved cutting the steak and smearing the garlic over every bite. The steak came with a baguette or some rice. I ordered both haha. The bread was good but the rice with the sauce and steak was the star. I ended taking the bread home. The calamari was very crispy and had thick cuts of squid. I really enjoyed it with the sauce and ended up eating the peppers that came with the calamari with the steak. This place makes my top 3 Bo Ne in so cal. Definitely coming back because I hear they have an amazing chicken skins dish!

Khoi Hung has the BEST sizzling steak platters and shaken beef (bo luc lac)! The meat is super tender and love that they do garlic noodles instead of rice for the shaken beef! Super flavorful and it comes with a yummy side salad too. The price is super reasonable and the food is fresh. Food takes a while to come out, but the staff are very kind and the food is well worth it!

We were craving for halibut and came here for dinner last night. Foods still amazing. Price is the same but protein portion is smaller now. We used to get two (2) pieces of fish per order but only got one piece now. Service still very good. Note: your clothes and hair will have this lingering smell of their foods because majority of their dishes are served on their sizzling skillets!

Absolutely amazing and delicious ribeye steak with butter and garlic. Flavor really good with the butter and garlic and bed of onions. The dipping sauce flavorful and goes great with the red rice. I recommend scooping some of butter garlic and onions onto the red rice. The portion size really good too, it also comes with a side salad and option of red rice or fries. I recommend getting the ribeye steak with butter and garlic and red rice!! You wont be disappointed

Two of us decided to try Khoi Hung Restaurant since we both love meat. Service is very friendly! The restaurant is traditional Vietnamese that serves variety of traditional dishes with fusion take of steaks. Vibe is welcoming and love the flat screens all around the store. The menu is simple. We tried #11 Com Bo Luc Lac which is shaken beef with red rice. The meat is tender the sauce is on the sweeter side. And #12 filet mignon: rare with black pepper sauce. The black pepper sauce is not as strong or fragrant as we like. Maybe garlic butter is better choice. The meat is tender on the steak too. We enjoyed the lunch and food here. It's more Asian take of steak and traditional food. Good size and portions.

Still my favorite place for com bo luc lac. The beef was tender, buttery, garlicky, saucy and well flavored. The service is usually attentive and kind as well. Be ready to leave smelling heavily of grill and butter, though.

This place is hands down one of the biggest hidden gems in Orange County. From the moment you walk in, the restaurant feels cozy and welcoming. There's plenty of seating, TVs to keep you entertained, and the overall vibe is relaxed and comfortable. It wasn't too loud at all, which made it easy to actually enjoy the food and conversation. The service was excellent. All of the staff were extremely nice and attentive, checking up on us often. We ordered the Shaken Beef Rice along with French fries on the side, and it was amazing. The beef was incredibly tender and full of flavor, literally melting in your mouth with every bite. The fries were cooked perfectly, crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. Simple, but done right. We also ordered the Ribeye with Garlic Butter and got the black peppercorn sauce on the side. The ribeye was delicious, packed with flavor, and not dry at all. It was cooked medium rare perfectly and came out on a hot sizzling skillet, which made it even better. The garlic butter was well balanced and didn't overpower the steak. As for the appetizers, another standout was the chicken skin chips. I believe it was still new and it wasn't on the menu yet as it was on the wall. They were extremely crispy with a good amount of spice, maybe a little on the spicy side but still very enjoyable. The dipping sauce was very unique and paired really well with the chicken. We also tried the soft-shell crab sautéed with garlic butter. The first few bites on the outside seemed a little dry at first, but once you get closer to the body and head of the crab, it becomes very juicy and flavorful. It tasted fresh and ocean like in a good way, and the dipping sauce they provide was perfect with the crab. My girlfriend and I ended up finishing all of the food, which we almost never do. That alone says how good everything was. The prices were absolutely worth it for the quality, the service was great, and overall this place is a must-try. I'll definitely be coming back soon. Another true hidden gem in OC.

I honestly didn't like this place the first time I tried it awhile back.. went back to try it again and I actually loved everything. Ribeye with red rice and salad: 10/10 So good. I asked for my steak medium rare, and it came out perfectly cooked. Meat was soft. Came with a sweet soy sauce. Paired perfectly with the rice. The salad was refreshing with their light vinegar dressing. Com Ga Roti: 10/10 Fried chicken was as good as $1.99.

Dined here for the first time today and had a great experience. The garlic butter ribeye was absolutely delicious--juicy, flavorful, and with just the right amount of fat, exactly the way I like it. The garlic butter filet mignon was also excellent if you prefer a leaner cut of steak. Clumsy me accidentally touched the hot skillet and burned my finger while moving it around. One of the staff members noticed right away and was incredibly attentive. She advised me to dip my finger in the cup of ice water, gave me some ice and brought me another water for drinking. When I asked if they had any burn cream, she went to check and later came back to let me know they had run out. I appreciated her effort and care. All in all, the food was great, the service was wonderful, and the staff was genuinely attentive. I'll definitely be back for more delicious steak!

Out of all the dishes we ordered, I would have to say that the meat dishes were the winner and what they are best at. We ordered: #4: Garlic butter wings were flavorful and had a thin layer of fresh crispness. #11 shaken beef - super soft, came with side of rice #14 ribeye came out on skillet - super soft, came with side of rice and fries #16 fried chicken with sticky rice - this one caught me by surprise. It was delicious. Triangular sticky rice, lightly fried and crispy exterior. The sauce is what makes this dish when you dip it with the chicken. #24 Bún riêu - flavorful rich broth with real crab roe and tofu #22 Bánh canh tôm của - least favorite out of all. Their banh cảnh is not what I'm used to. The noodles remind me of tteokbokki, the Korean rice cake noodles. It was chewy and thick and will expand in your tummy. The broth reminds me of Súp măng cầu the crab soup but wasn't thick. This version was totally different than what I was craving for and had a hard time finishing. It was my first time but my family second, if I come back with them again, definitely sticking to the meat dishes. 3.5 round to 4.

Craving steak with a Vietnamese twist? Who even thinks of that--and who nails it? Khởi Hưng Restaurant, that's who. After consulting the wise Yelp community, I grabbed the Missus and headed out. First impression: a charming hole-in-the-wall. Asian quaint and clean. Always a good sign. We ordered two steaks, served sizzling on a hot cast iron plate--love at first sizzle. The aroma of Vietnamese spices was irresistible, and the flavor did not disappoint. Vietnamese steak? Heck yeah, I'm a believer now. I'll be back--and maybe brush up on my Vietnamese before then.

F O O D I've been looking for another place that has Cornish hen other than $1.99 and I think I've found the one? The chicken was so moist, the fried layer thin and crispy and the sauce was good. We also ordered the ribeye steak with garlic butter and that was bomb as well. And I think the price point was super reasonable. I'll definitely be back! S E R V I C E Their menus are tucked under a glass cover on the table so we perused the menu right before hen we sat down. It's your typical Asian service; they took our order quickly and checked in once or twice. I went to the front to pay at the end of our meal. Very casual and there are larger tables available for bigger parties. L O C A T I O N We came for dinner on a weekend and fortunately half the businesses in the plaza were closed. The lot isn't huge and I can see it getting full fast during normal business hours.

I absolutely love eating at Khoi Hung. This place is a true hole-in-the-wall gem, and it's one of those spots I proudly take everyone I know to--and they all end up loving it. My go-to order is the ribeye with garlic. The sizzling steak comes out in a generous portion, perfectly cooked and packed with flavor. It's served with crispy fries and a delicious, fresh salad, which makes the whole plate incredibly satisfying. Every time it hits the table, it's hard not to smile. They do have an extensive menu, but the ribeye is so good that I honestly haven't felt the need to try anything else yet--that's how much I enjoy it. If you're looking for bold flavors, great value, and a no-frills spot that delivers consistently excellent food, this place is a must-visit. Highly recommend.

The overall restaurant design replicates the classic Parisian Bouillon style. From what the staff told us, all the dishes are made with fresh ingredients purchased daily, prepared on the spot, and they sell out once they're gone! That's why they're known as "the Best Traditional French Restaurant in OC." The service is also incredibly thoughtful, genuine, and welcoming. Everyone on staff speaks French. This time we tried the Confit de Canard (tender and juicy), Escargots, Leg de Lapin, Beef Bourguignon (the tagliatelle it came with was so flavorful), Steak Frites (served with either pepper sauce or Bearnaise sauce), and the Salmon. Everything was delicious! Even the pre-service bread was amazing. The prices are really reasonable too. Five of us dined for $185, which offers great value for money.

The Mother's Day menu they were serving for the weekend was extremely disappointing. Of all the dishes we ordered, the frog legs were the only thing that was pretty okay. The scallop risotto was particularly bad, it was as if it was prepared by an amateur, not a professional. And aside from the food, the bathrooms were in a sad state, with trash on the ground (even outside leading to the restroom area), trash piled in the trashcan making it impossible to reach the paper towels, something really unbefitting of a restaurant on this price range. I've been coming here for years and I'm sad to say I don't know if I'll be back for quite a while considering how bad it was today. The way they used to be, I'd recommend them in a heartbeat. The way they were today, absolutely not. I'm glad at least that we came today and not tomorrow on Mother's Day itself.

I later found out it was a special Sunday brunch created just for Mother's Day. Thanks to my daughter's reservation, we were seated right away. Every dish is beautifully created with an incredible level of attention to detail you can feel the care, artistry, and intention behind every course. The chefs here are doing something truly special. You will be spending a pretty penny, but that's because this is not an everyday Friday-night dinner spot it's a full culinary experience. If I had the budget, I'd come every week... maybe twice. Dinner is a multi-course tasting experience that begins around 5 PM and carries you through the evening you'll likely be there until 10 PM or later. There's a wine cellar, curated pairings, and an atmosphere that feels intimate, elevated, and deeply intentional. This place is clearly designed for guests with an elevated palate and a true appreciation for the culinary arts and thoughtfully sourced, curated dishes. The overly salted amuse.. overcooked quail on top of a chalky purple yam smear, a too rare filet with a thick grey band (requested medium but this was basically blue). The new owners (new to me, they've been here for years) were charming and the food was outstanding. I can't resist smoked salmon so I had to try the smoked salmon waffle. The mountain of smoked salmon was tossed in some sort of dill cream sauce and placed upon a savory waffle. It was a match made in heaven and I truly loved it. I also had a delightful cappuccino with it. I am really glad I rediscovered this place and cannot wait to return!

We ordered the Jumbo Lump Crab Cake, it had a great taste and the chipotle aioli drizzle gave it a nice kick. I ordered the Wine Tasting Flight and was surprised by the deliciously personalized wine variations. I really enjoyed all 3 as they also paired well with my dinner. Dinner consisted of the Pasta Bolognaise and Chocolate Mousse, both delicious. I personally recommend these. Thank you again Sacha, we appreciate your warm and personalized attention! Will be back to try the Gourmet Le Burger and pair it with one of your draft beers Until then, Cheers!

The paella, salmon, and tri‑tip were all incredibly fresh and flavorful. The small‑bite desserts were adorable and delicious--especially the tiramisu and mini macarons. One of the most special touches was the make‑your‑own bouquet station for moms. Such a thoughtful and memorable idea. The live harpist added an elegant, calming vibe to the whole experience. The staff was amazing from start to finish. Huge shout‑out to Trevor, Britney, and our waitress Heather for being so friendly, attentive, and genuinely kind. The drinks were fantastic too. Overall, a beautiful and memorable way to celebrate Mother's Day. We'll definitely be back.

We ordered dishes I hadn't tried before, such as their squid ink paella and sea bass entree. Both dishes were okay, but didn't really wow us. The squid ink paella portion felt a bit on the thinner side because this version lacked the abundance of protein compared to the OG saffron version most are familiar with. The beet and goat cheese salad as well as the basque cheesecake were the stars of the show, per usual. I'm glad they validate 100% of parking fees for restaurant diners as well since Top of V is located within a hotel.
