I ordered a LARGE shrimp cocktail to go for $21 and this is what I got. Keep in mind, I have tiny hands. It's maybe a 14 Oz cup. The medium order probably comes in a shot glass. The few shrimp I got were small, still had the poop tract, and the overall flavor was not good. It was way too sweet. It came with no condiments, salsas, or lemons, only 2 STALE tostadas. She told me it would be an additional charge for more tostadas. Really?? You're only give me 2 tostadas for a large order? How many do I get with a medium order, one? The flaky fish is firm with a crispy scored skin with a light garlic butter sauce. Camarones Marea (Rellenos): Tail-on shrimp, cheese, and bits of imitation crab are rolled up in a strip of crispy bacon. Pulpo al Mojo de Ajo: The octopus tentacle is cut into small coins that are soft and tender morsels lightly coated in garlic butter sauce. Arrived 30 min prior to closing ( I'm not usually that person, but cousin wanted ceviche) & pics looked good. I ordered the fajita mix with corn tortillas. Was a mix of chicken beef and shrimp very flavorful, came out of a hot skillet. My cousin ordered a plate with 2 tostada's, ceviche and some oysters. Portions from this place were huge! We couldn't eat it all. Oysters tasted funny and we're dark grey in color, sorta off putting. Ceviche was refreshing and came with saltaditas!! I didn't realize there was 2 different locations so close together. I ordered from this location off of DoorDash thinking it was the location off of Tustin, because that's where I have normally gone. Obviously i ordered it for a pick up so i expected it already to not be so warm by the time i got it. I was highly disappointed to see that their "medium" cóctel de camarón was literally the size of my baby's 2oz bottle.... so so tiny?? And the price was insane. My "SMALL" horchata was bigger than it. I've been coming here for years and in all honesty, it is a hit or miss. Which is really disappointing, mainly because they have so much potential. It has been around with multiple locations because they food is great! Drinks are what you would expect from a cantina, so do not expect fancy cocktails. The service is why I could not give it a perfect score. Sometimes you are lucky and your waitress is very nice, friendly and knowledgeable. Or she is in a rush, very matter of fact and unhelpful. Stopped in on a whim for breakfast on Sunday. The decor of this restaurant really knocks it out of the park. Once you step in, you feel you are actually in Mexico, Olde Town San Diego, or Olvera Street. I loved all the bright colors, the Mexican furniture / displays and the candy shop set up at the counter. Food was delicious. I had the jamon con huevos plate. My grandpa had the huevos rancheros, and my husband had the Camarones Marea aka bacon wrapped shrimp. I opted for no rice, which I now regret. Typically, I am not a big rice fan, however the rice here is the delicious white buttery rice that pairs perfect with mariscos. We all enjoyed our breakfast. I had a glass of chablis with my food. It hit the spot. I asked for a side of Ranchera sauce to pour on my food. It had a nice kick to it, medium spice. I can only tolerate up to medium, so it was ideal. I got food poisoning eating that and I'm currently 5 months pregnant . I tried calling but no one picked up . At this point this restaurant needs to make sure to clean there shrimp and fish right . Called for pickup instead & they asked what type of meat I wanted which included ground beef. She read the options to me. I said ground beef. We spent around $70 and the tacos were great but they were NOT ground beef. Had a ton of cojita though & we loved them. My shrimp plate however had POOP TRAILS in them which I only noticed because it felt weird in my mouth & you can't really see it because they're covered in spices but we just figured it was a bad day for them. So I ordered again the following weekend 1 shrimp plate & 4 tacos & she said $83.00. I asked why $83? She said it's because the tacos are very rare & it's not on the menu.. I was like okay but I just ordered them last week & she sighed & brought it down to like $40 something. Tacos were gross! no cojita, just warm sour cream & gross meat but I thought it was a one off AGAIN because I've always loved their food. Husband thought they were bad & maybe had a different cook that day. Ordered last night again, spent around $60 for a burrito, a shrimp plate & 4 tacos. They were really gross & I spit it out. Tasted gamey like something was off but I thought it was just me & then the husband said this doesn't taste right at all like something's just off & he threw it all in the trash. I went to here with my family over the weekend. The food was good, I actually enjoyed it once it FINALLY CAME. We arrived at 1:30p we were seated almost immediately. Our waiter didn't come take even our drink order until 2p. 1/2 hour just to ask would you like a drink?? Then after that we still didn't get our drinks for another 15 min. So now we're at 45 min sitting at a table with out even getting a drink?? I was beyond annoyed however my wife and kids were happy so I didn't wanna kill our family lunch. I forgot to mention when she came for drinks it had been so long we already knew what we wanted to eat. So we ordered at the same time. After bringing our dinks. She came out with ONE plate of food, then 5 Min later another plate of food. She literally did this with each plate. On top of all that my daughters taco and fries were COLD. We never even got one refill on our drinks. Now all this was annoying don't get me wrong. The thing that really topped it off. After we received our food they sat a table next to us. That table was given drinks, chips even got refills on there drink within 15 min of arriving. By 20/25 min they already had there whole meal and it came out all at once!!!
