Been coming here for years and for a reason. The food is always really good. The service is impeccable. The ambiance is as if I'm eating with family at their home. Nothing has changed in the inside and while most wouldn't like that, it's the nostalgic feeling for me.

Situated behind a Taco Bell if coming down Tustin Ave. This restaurant looks small on the outside but large on the inside. The ambiance feels authentic with large flat-screen TVs playing a rotation of Mexican music and videos. The service was great and fast.

Little restaurant that is a great value. The food is very good, first meal was a bean and cheese burrito and I thought it was delicious. The second time here I got the chile relleno, potato taco and the cheese enchilada. The plate was overall very good and very filling. The best thing was the enchilada followed by potato taco and finally the chile relleno. The plate comes with rice and beans. Wife had the beef chimichanga and she really enjoyed it. Here's the best part. Bill was under $30. How can you beat that?? Again food is delicious and value is awesome. This is a def regular stop for us

Food was delicious ordered the quesadillas with shrimp combo. Service was friendly and got our orders correct. Just walk in and have a seat and a waitress comes by to get drink and drops off chips and salsa. It was a little crowded for a Sunday afternoon but not too bad. I love this place. Always reminds me of my dad since he was the one to introduce this place to us.

Now this is how to kick off the weekend - Chilaquiles on the lanai!

I was still feeling under the weather, so I sent my hubby to pick up some albondigas. Seemed kinda spendy for caldo, but it had 4 meatballs and it also came with a container of rice and 4 corn tortillas - so I shared it with my hubby so I guess you could say it's $7 per person since after tax it was just under $14. Broth was tasty, and not too salty - lots of HUGE chunks of veggies (potato, tomato, squash) and the meatballs were very tasty and it was quite filling. The only bummer is that when I got to the end of eating my soup, there was a hair in my last meatball, so I couldn't eat it any more - so minus one star for the hair. I had the posole the other day - and of I had to choose between the two, I think I'm going to stick with the posole.

    Wet Chile Verde burrito.

Then we unexpectedly came across this super popular restaurant! The crowd alone caught our attention, so we decided to give it a try -- and I'm glad we did. Atmosphere: The moment we walked in, the vibe immediately stood out. It has a charming vintage feel, with beautiful natural sunlight pouring in, making the whole space warm and cozy. Perfect for a relaxing weekend brunch or a casual meal with family and kids. Here are the dishes we highly recommend: Guacamole & Chips Absolutely addictive. The guacamole was fresh, creamy, and packed with flavor. We couldn't stop eating it. Steak Plate The steak was cooked perfectly tender, and the juicy corn underneath soaked up all the delicious flavors. Every bite felt satisfying. Pulled Pork Tacos Super authentic Mexican-style tacos with rich layers of flavor. The combination of refried beans and avocado sauce made them even better. A few small notes: The restaurant was extremely busy, so the staff seemed a little overwhelmed at times. Service was okay overall, but understandable considering how packed it was. Coffee lovers: Their coffee leaned a bit on the sweeter side for us, so if you prefer less sweetness, it's worth mentioning when ordering. Overall, such a fun and lively brunch spot in Old Towne OC. Definitely worth trying if you're in the area!

I've been back to this place a bunch of times since my first visit - my wife has been with me about four times now, and I've even taken my parents. The carnitas themselves are the star--tender, juicy pork that's been slow-cooked to perfection with that signature crispy edge on some pieces, delivering rich, savory flavor without being overly greasy. It's seasoned just right, with a nice balance of porky goodness and subtle spices that let the meat shine. Wrapped in a large, fresh flour tortilla (they make their own in-house, which always helps), it's stuffed generously with the classics: fluffy Mexican rice, creamy refried or whole beans (depending on your preference, but both work great), chopped onions, cilantro, and a solid dose of salsa. I went with their green salsa for a bright, tangy kick that cuts through the richness perfectly, plus a dollop of sour cream and cheese for that creamy melt. No skimping on portions here--it's hearty and filling, easily a meal that satisfies for hours. At around $10 (give or take, based on current pricing), it's a great value in the area. The burrito holds together well without falling apart mid-bite, and the overall balance of textures--tender meat, soft rice/beans, crisp onions--makes every mouthful enjoyable. If you're in the mood for classic carnitas done right in a casual, bakery-taqueria spot with great salsas and a friendly vibe, this one's definitely worth grabbing. I'd rate it 4.5 out of 5--only docking half a point because it's not reinventing the wheel, but it's executing the traditional style exceptionally well. We had a large group of about 30 people, which is never easy for any restaurant to handle, but they accommodated us so well. I ordered the carne asada plate, and the meat was cooked to perfection -- tender, flavorful, and seasoned just right. You can tell they know how to prepare their dishes with care. For dessert, I had the arroz con leche, and it was amazing. It was the perfect balance of sweetness and comfort, especially after an emotional day. The ambiance truly stood out. The hacienda-style patio with trees created such a beautiful and peaceful atmosphere. The Spanish-style architecture inside, along with the fountain, made the whole experience feel warm and inviting.
