Ordered a menudo and after eating a couple spoons of it I found a rubber band in the menudo.

Old and Cold gray carne. Tough and chewy.

Sooooo bad. Very expensive for old tasting carne asada. Carnitas was cold and bright pink for some reason. Al Pastor was edible but really lacking in flavor. I waited over 30 minutes in an empty restaurant for two burritos and a dozen small tacos. Paid over $60! No way I will ever return.

I had a torta at this place today. It was so disgusting. I don't get why this place has good reviews. See picture below.

They show no pricing on their menu and I was served old rice on my dish after paying $16 for a breakfast? Ridiculous! Their salsas are terrible too! Not recommended.

Calabaza (squash blossom) quesadilla and carnitas taco.

I recently had lunch here and the prior reviews of this place had sparked my curiosity. This is a small mom and pop Mexican spot in an older strip center. Nothing fancy at all. I ordered the quesadilla calabaza (squash blossoms) and a carnitas taco. The quesadilla calabaza was not very good. The squash blossoms were undercooked and did not have that great of flavor. I have had stuffed squash blossoms at other places and they can be pretty good. The cheese in the quesadilla was not melted. The carnitas taco was just so-so. The carnitas meat was moist but lacking in flavor and did not have the crisp crust/bark on the outside that I like. The horchata here was pretty good. And the salsas, which you could tell were homemade, were good as well. Would I return? No.

    Carnita tacos Delicious and inexpensive

Then we unexpectedly came across this super popular restaurant! The crowd alone caught our attention, so we decided to give it a try -- and I'm glad we did. Atmosphere: The moment we walked in, the vibe immediately stood out. It has a charming vintage feel, with beautiful natural sunlight pouring in, making the whole space warm and cozy. Perfect for a relaxing weekend brunch or a casual meal with family and kids. Here are the dishes we highly recommend: Guacamole & Chips Absolutely addictive. The guacamole was fresh, creamy, and packed with flavor. We couldn't stop eating it. Steak Plate The steak was cooked perfectly tender, and the juicy corn underneath soaked up all the delicious flavors. Every bite felt satisfying. Pulled Pork Tacos Super authentic Mexican-style tacos with rich layers of flavor. The combination of refried beans and avocado sauce made them even better. A few small notes: The restaurant was extremely busy, so the staff seemed a little overwhelmed at times. Service was okay overall, but understandable considering how packed it was. Coffee lovers: Their coffee leaned a bit on the sweeter side for us, so if you prefer less sweetness, it's worth mentioning when ordering. Overall, such a fun and lively brunch spot in Old Towne OC. Definitely worth trying if you're in the area!

I've been back to this place a bunch of times since my first visit - my wife has been with me about four times now, and I've even taken my parents. I love that the menu is like a mix of all these different Latin foods, it's like a fusion. The oxtail stew is amazing, and even something simple like a quesadilla, they've got their own twist on it. The service here is always great. We've had great servers, and they're all really friendly and make sure we have everything we need. One thing that can be a bit tricky is finding the parking entrance - it's easy to miss the first time you come here. But once you know where it is, it's not a problem at all.

The carnitas themselves are the star--tender, juicy pork that's been slow-cooked to perfection with that signature crispy edge on some pieces, delivering rich, savory flavor without being overly greasy. It's seasoned just right, with a nice balance of porky goodness and subtle spices that let the meat shine. Wrapped in a large, fresh flour tortilla (they make their own in-house, which always helps), it's stuffed generously with the classics: fluffy Mexican rice, creamy refried or whole beans (depending on your preference, but both work great), chopped onions, cilantro, and a solid dose of salsa. I went with their green salsa for a bright, tangy kick that cuts through the richness perfectly, plus a dollop of sour cream and cheese for that creamy melt. No skimping on portions here--it's hearty and filling, easily a meal that satisfies for hours. At around $10 (give or take, based on current pricing), it's a great value in the area. The burrito holds together well without falling apart mid-bite, and the overall balance of textures--tender meat, soft rice/beans, crisp onions--makes every mouthful enjoyable. If you're in the mood for classic carnitas done right in a casual, bakery-taqueria spot with great salsas and a friendly vibe, this one's definitely worth grabbing. I'd rate it 4.5 out of 5--only docking half a point because it's not reinventing the wheel, but it's executing the traditional style exceptionally well. Highly recommend if you're near 728 N Tustin St in Orange! Pair it with an horchata, yum

If you're looking for solid Mexican food with consistency you can count on, this is a must.

We had a large group of about 30 people, which is never easy for any restaurant to handle, but they accommodated us so well. They seated us at one long table so we could all sit together, talk, and share memories. It meant a lot to keep everyone connected instead of being split up. The food was excellent. I ordered the carne asada plate, and the meat was cooked to perfection -- tender, flavorful, and seasoned just right. You can tell they know how to prepare their dishes with care. For dessert, I had the arroz con leche, and it was amazing. It was the perfect balance of sweetness and comfort, especially after an emotional day. The ambiance truly stood out. The hacienda-style patio with trees created such a beautiful and peaceful atmosphere. The Spanish-style architecture inside, along with the fountain, made the whole experience feel warm and inviting. It has that classic, authentic charm that makes you want to stay and enjoy the moment. Most importantly, the staff was incredible. They were extremely patient, attentive, and very organized -- which is impressive considering we were a party of 30. Everything came out smoothly, and they made sure we were taken care of without making us feel rushed.
