I'm SO happy to find a local wing place!!! I'm so sick and tired of wingstop, the quality and the service has gone down so much there. This place is great it definitely rivals a lot of wing places I have tried but truthfully the fact that it's not wingstop is good enough for me. I am beyond obsessed with the spicy bbq sauce they have here. We also tried the Linda's special and it was good but not that spicy and I was looking for something truly spicy so I probably won't order it again. I would like to try all their flavors soon so I'll be working my way through this menu eventually. The space was big inside but it always feels too empty here so I do prefer to order take out when I come here. Either way I love the wings here and I don't feel like this place gets enough credit!! First off, I would like to give a shout out to Drake who held the fort down when we stopped by a few weekends ago. He was the only one working and it did not phase him. His customer service was on point. Other than the amazing service and experience we had, the food was also a plus. We ordered the family meal which gave us 20 wings and two sides. We got the seasoned fries and onion rings. We ended up ordering the Lemon Pepper and Garlic Parmesan wings and they were delicious. The quality was great and flavors were perfect. I did prefer the lemon pepper more but they both did not disappoint. There is so many different flavors to choose from. If you want spicy, they def have many flavors that can challenge your taste buds. Many classic flavors on menu too so def need to check those out too. A favorite on the menu is the loaded fries. However the flavor was still great. I am a big fan of dry rubs as I feel the wet stuff leaves the wings soggy. The Dynamite dry rub is awesome. First off I do have to say I love the Westminster location, their wings and food in general is just fantastic. It is a little out of the way for me which is why I was excited to see them open in Orange which is a lot more convenient. I ordered 15 pieces and got the jalapeno, spicy lemon pepper and red curry. I'm one of those people that prefer drumettes over flats. I do feel it's unreasonable to expect all drums, at least without paying a premium, but would expect somewhere close to a 50/50 mix. Out of the 15 wings I had 2 drums and 13 flats. I did complain about this and all they told me was if I wanted more drums I need to request it. I didn't think that would be necessary as I felt I'd get more than just 2 out of 15 pieces. So I guess next time, if there is a next time, I need to make a special request just to make sure I get an even mix of pieces. The bigger issue was none of my wings had any type of crunch to them. Granted two of styles I got were wet or semi wet, they should have some sort of crunch. It's not like they sat for 15 minutes before I dove in and got completely saturated by the sauce, I pretty much dove into them the moment they hit my table. The jalapeno, which is my favorite and my go to order in Westminster, had no crunch either. I don't know what the excuse for that is since there is no sauce to it. Soggy fried wings is a huge turnoff for me. They give me flashbacks to back when I'd eat the soggy wings you'd get from Domino's late night in college when we didn't know any better. I basically tried one of each of the 3 flavors and lost my appetite. I really hope they turn it around and fix these early mistakes. I've had too many good experiences with Socal Wings to let this one linger in my mind. UPDATE: I looked up some pics I took of the wings I've ordered from Westminster (it's been over a year since I went there) and they look night and day from what I got here. Those wings had actual breading on them which is why they're so crunchy. These had no breading on them. Not sure if all the franchises changed up their recipe or if the Orange location is doing their own thing. My fiancé and I are moving in to this area and we drove by SoCal Wings tonight and popped in. We've never been to this or any other location they have. We ordered a 20 wing combo. It comes with two side options, we got seasoned fries and Jalapeño poppers. For the poppers we got a choice of Cheddar or Cream Cheese (which is awesome btw) and went with cream cheese, they were crispy on the outside and warm within. The seasoned fries were made perfect. Our Cajun fries came without any seasoning, the boneless wings are literally pieces of chicken breast just dipped in sauce, the blue cheese is watery and tastes old. The boneless chicken is really juicy, but it's not "wings". There's no breading, just sauce. The only good thing we ordered were the mozzarella sticks and those are just frozen ready to fry. The bone in wings we got (garlic Parmesan) barely had any cheese on them. We had to put our own Parmesan on them just to get some flavor on there. Sorry SoCal Wings, this was a huge disappointment. The flavors were on point and would order them again. *Now, when you think of cucumber salad, you think of refreshing, right? Well, this wasn't anyware close to refreshing. Again, there was no mention of spice as part of the ingredient. This was a bit spicy for what I was expecting, and I decided to toss it. So that was a waste of money. My family ordered wings, fried fish with garlic fries, and fried zucchini. The fish and zucchini were not very good. The zucchini was overly breaded, the fish tasted odd. I suspect they were both fried from frozen and not prepared at the restaurant. The garlic fries were not tossed. Rather the garlic/oil mix was dumped on top of part of the fries.
