I ordered a patty melt & I thought a burger place would know how to make one. I was wrong. All it includes was over toasted rye bread. So much so that the bread was very hard. A burger patty covered with an orange cheesewiz type substance. Only those 3 ingredients. No grilled onions, which is always in a patty melt. One other issue I had with their food was the fries, they were under cooked & gross. I was totally disappointed. I hadn't been here in years because of a similar issue with Omega Burgers food. Place wasn't what I expected. I was expecting a good burger but it was mediocre. Might been more excited for a McDonald's burger. Fries were ok and the reason for the 2 stars. Onion rings were simple, nothing special. The Diet Pepsi tasted funny and the Apple soda tased like nail polish - they might need to clean out their machines. The restaurant was worn and not very clean - still had Christmas garland up. If you need to use the restroom, you walk outside into the drive-thru and walk into the back of the kitchen. Was craving for pastrami sandwich and drove by here and remembered that they do have a good sandwich. Came in the morning but they do have the menu for all day therefore got that and a fish sandwich combo since it was $10. Parking was easy since they do have their own parking lot plus they do have drive through too. Indoor and outdoor seating areas. Clean, spacious and bright. It's an old building and you can see the aging but well kept. Staff are very nice, friendly. Menu is good with lots of options. And the prices are quite affordable too, especially for the portion of the sandwich. The pastrami was good as I remembered, hitted all the right spots, the fish is abit overly fried therefore it's dried. The sandwich is good with cold fresh veggies. Love it. read more

My mom told me about this spot. She for sure knew what she was talking about when she suggested that their breakfast burritos were yummy! I did go through drive thru as soon as they opened (6AM) and it was convenient for me. The place from where I was waiting in my car looked clean and organized. The woman who took my order was very nice. They speak English and Spanish here. I'm working on my Spanish so ordering in english was best. I ordered their bacon & egg burrito. It's so filling I had to save half. Their salsa tastes homemade and isn't too spicy, but there is flavor there. Maybe had to wait like about 8 minutes for my order. Was walking around Orange circle and stopped in here with son and girlfriend. We got a 1/4lb burger meal and a junior burger for my son, only came out to $14ish which these days is a steal. If you love a classic burger and don't want all the trendy frills, this is a great spot. I finally got back to Omega Drive-in and I was not disappointed. The service was friendly and efficient. And, most importantly, the food was quite good---the double patties were charbroiled, which allowed the cheese to meld into the beef patties as well as the hamburger bun. The establishment is indicative to fast food restaurants of the 70's; a throwback to my teenage years. Finally, I truly enjoyed everything about Omega Drive-in, so go for a drive or a neighborhood walk and enjoy the ambiance of a local eatery. read more

Growing up, my family would come here periodically, and it was always OUTSTANDING! This past week, we came back to reminisce about old times and B O Y -- it did not change! We got the family bundle, which was around $40 for 4 burgers, 4 fries, and 4 drinks - which is such a steal in this economy! The food came out quickly - HOT AND FRESH ! ! ! The burger had solid characteristics - juicy, decently high-quality beef, cooked medium rare with great seasoning. I appreciated the fresh toppings and loved how the cabbage/lettuce was finely shredded. AND the sesame buns had that nostalgic, backyard BBQ feel! The fries were well-seasoned with a good texture~ I enjoyed how the fries had a notable balance - not too crispy/not too soggy. My drink hit the spot - you can't go wrong with a DR PEPPER ~~~ Personally, I love how the interior is not all done-up and trendy - I like the retro feel of the restaurant. It feels clean and cozy. Best tasting chargrilled burger ever. I've been coming here 30 years, and that char on their grill makes all the difference. Fresh red ripe tomato and their bun and sauce makes you crave it. I read in another review for Apollo Burgers that Omega was better than them. This was my first time here at Omega. As I haven't tried Apollo just yet. I ordered a bacon cheeseburger, large onion rings and a side of 1000 Island( my norm order for Mom&Pop burger joints. The drive thru wait was long and there was just one car in front of me. The girl who helped me was very nice. The food is okay. Onion rings were good but I told them no onion on my burger and I can taste onion even though I didn't see anything. Wonder if the lettuce got cross contaminated. Raw onions can have bad bacteria if not handled properly. Also the bacon was really hard. I don't think I will be back. I went through the drive thru yesterday and got chili cheese fries, and a corn dog. This was very average tasting food. It wasn't bad and wasn't great. It was a relatively quick drive through. This is solely based on the service we received today. The food has always been good and my husband was ordering while I was sitting at a table with my baby. My husband asked the girl cashier, Ana if he can hear the order again to see if he ordered everything he needed for us and when he asked if the burger he ordered had cheese the cashier said "it doesn't have cheese unless i said it did which I didn't." Omega Burger is a throwback to a simpler age when this type of diner ruled the corners of Orange County. This is probably one of the oldest restaurants in Old Town Orange. Many of the residents (you can tell a resident from a visitor because they know that the roundabout a couple of blocks to the east is known as the Plaza, not the Circle (and those of us who spend too much time in Orange know that the roundabout isn't round, it's oval shaped. I have been to Omega Burger many - MANY - times over the decades and the food has always been consistent. Whether it's a lunchtime Club Sandwich (served with fries), a chicken salad for dinner or a pastrami breakfast burrito these guys provide good food at a reasonable price. The place is almost always spotlessly clean, the drive thru is ... well, it's a tight turn for those of us with long vehicles like my Gladiator, but it's always entertaining to pull up to the window, watch the cashier lift the glass up and prop it with a piece of wood. If you're in a rush, this may not be the place for you; the drive-thru can take a few extra minutes (the eggs are made from eggs (imagine that!)) but it's always worth the wait.
