The important thing: the burger was really good. And I'll add that the fries were also good. First time here. We arrived on a Saturday around 2pm and it was empty. Doors wide open so I knew there wouldn't be a/c running during this painful heat wave and I was right. It was hot in there. No one at the counter, so we awkwardly wait for about 4 or 5 minutes that felt a lot longer. Someone pops out, no greeting, like we interrupted them (maybe we did) and we order. I got a grilled cheese and my friend got the burger. He got the combo. When the dude asked if I wanted a drink, I said just a cup for water. He hesitated, then the look on his face looked like he was mad about it. We pay, my friend doesn't leave a tip on the screen because I wanted to tip in cash. And it took forever to get the receipt to the point of my friend saying "it's cool, don't need it". This dude seemed so annoyed by us. He didn't give us our cups so we sat down. He starts making the food. I was like, he's waiting to give us our cups so we get less refills since we only got one soda (just me overthinking, who really knows). When the food was ready, he brings it out to us, which was nice. My friend said, oh our drinks! And stands up. The guy points to the cups next to the register so apparently we were supposed to grab our own cups. The water from the soda fountain was good, didn't have that tap taste. That's a plus. We didn't share the soda, which I felt we were silently being accused of doing. The fries are hot and fresh and were really good. The grilled cheese was nothing special, smashed kinda flat so not super cheesy and pretty much like one your babysitter makes you at home. But that's a good thing so no complaint. My friend said the burger was really good, and the thousand island style sauce was superb- he said it tasted homemade and had a nice kick and took the burger to a higher level. Anyway, it was just an annoying experience that would have been a lot better if the guy showed any sense of friendliness and if he simply said "go ahead and grab your cups". Will I come back? I will not be returning to this establishment. For the burger joint being called gourmet burger, the burgers were far from gourmet. I placed a to-go order and ordered a patty melt, spicy burger, sweet potato fries, regular fries, and fried zucchini. The spicy burger was slightly dry, lacked a unifying ingredient and didn't have much flavor (way different looking than photos) The saving grace were the jalepenos for spice. The sweet potato fries were good (just as any sweet potato fries would be) and the regular fries were well cooked and seasoned. The patty melt was a huge disappointment. A sesame sour dour bread was used (odd..) and the bread and meat were so dry it made it almost inedible. The bread was so dry and the sesame didn't taste good, we had to remove the bread entirely from the burger to eat it. We didn't even finish it, it was so bad. The fried zucchini, was decent but came extremely oily and the size of the zucchini was tiny. If you order, expect to eat mainly the fried breading. Another gripe I had was that even though I ordered through a mobile app, the food was not ready (and no one was in the restaurant) . I had to go to the register and tell them I had a to-go order, then (and only then) did the staff look for it and begin making it. I had to sit at the restaurant for another 15 minutes due to this. I ordered a bacon cheeseburger (they only had turkey bacon) with no lettuce, tomatoes, or pickles. Instead, my burger arrived without the turkey bacon and with pickles, even though I specifically asked for them to be removed. I'm allergic to pickles, and after taking a bite, my throat started to swell. I also ordered the chili cheese fries, but they were essentially just beans covered in a pinch of cheese. There was no actual chili, which was very disappointing. Overall: Burger - the bread was hard and stale. The meat and cheese was good. Bean Fries: Hard and stale fries and the beans had no flavor. The staff was ok, although a bit quiet, so I don't have any complaints about how they treated me. My issue was with the accuracy and quality of the food. Looking back, I probably should have taken the fact that the restaurant was empty as a warning sign, but I had been searching all over for a classic bacon cheeseburger and chili cheese fries, and this place looked like it would be the perfect spot. This is one of those hole in the wall places where you wouldn't think of when you drive by, but please believe me, you'll want to stop! Plenty of parking in the shopping center! When you walk in, it's definitely one of those places where you see it, and you kinda just know, it's going to be tasty! The only thing is it is a bit warm inside. It had that little kick of spices from both the jalapeños as well as the chipotle mayo. Old Fashion Burger: It's your classic burger, the thousand island dressing, American Cheese, etc. With both these burgers, the meat tasted super clean, Halal meat has unlocked a new level of burger for me! Mozzarella Sicks: Two Words....Cheese....Pull! It was a perfectly seasoned mozzarella stick, but it has the cheese pull!!! We had dinner here and there is plenty of parking in the shopping center that the restaurant is a part of. The restaurant itself is roomy and a little warm, temperature wise, on the inside. This is a Lebanese burger joint so everything is Halal. The menu is straightforward and we got two burgers and a few sides. The first burger was the old-fashioned cheeseburger. Super simple ingredients with cheese, a couple of patties, lettuce, tomatoes, pickles, red onion and sauce. The patties were incredibly fresh tasting and a great reason to come back again. The second burger was the spicy burger with a couple of patties, lettuce, tomatoes, pickles, red onion, Chipotle mayo and slice jalapeños. Just the right amount of heat for me and absolutely delicious. For sides we got mozzarella sticks, French fries and onion rings. All the sides were made fresh. The mozzarella sticks had some of the best cheese pull ever. The fries are perfectly cooked with just the right amount of salt. I just elevated my tastebuds burger game after this delicious lip smacking experience. This is a Halal friendly spot that has a tasty gem I must tell you about. I ordered the Lebanese burger that came with your basic sesame bun, cheese and beef patty. What made this burger super exciting to my tastebuds was the coleslaw. I'm not sure exactly what it was but it leveled up the burger and with the added fries mashed up inside! Oh Man! I was like Dayuuum! This is like a Ratatouille moment for me with all the elements working together after the first bite. The last time I had a first time winner was my beloved Fatburger and that's saying a lot. Yummm, a very small and unassuming establishment . I think it might be Muslim run based on some decor and the staff and that they close for Ramadan which I think is so great! The place was empty when we walked in but the grill was going with a ton of burgers. They had three little iPads chiming away so it's obvious that this place does mostly to-go orders even though they offer plenty of seating. The woman working was super nice. My friend and I each got a sandwich combo and then we got an extra burger to film...phone eats first, right? I wanted the falafel sandwich and was super bummed that they were currently out, but next time! I was very happy with the onion rings. I will admit the patties were a little dry but I thought they tasted good and honestly the food overall is a little sauce heavy so it all evens out in your mouth. The winning thing for me here were the drink options! My goodness, I've never had so many sugar free soda and juice options IN MY LIFE. Omg. This place has taken a turn for the worse. I have now been here 3 times in the last 8 years and the service has gradually gotten worse. Considering it was already pretty bad, this is sad. I understand they had a note saying they will open the dine-in at 5:50pm for Ramadan, but when the fast opens at 5:53pm, it might make sense to open maybe 10 minutes earlier. The tables still had chairs stacked on them. The burgers still take a while to make. They have listed a kids meal on the menu but apparently they charge you more/less. Makes no sense you are making me buy more nuggets at a higher price than listed. Than they charged less for the cheese burger. I guess making your own prices even though something else is listed is okay?! Next comes the quality of the food. Terrible. The burger was dry. The meat was dry and had a bad smell to it. My husband agreed to both of these observations. Sucks we paid for a double patty on both burgers. Getting underseasoned, dry, double patties that have a rancid smell. How bad! The jalapeños gave it the perfect amount of heat without being overwhelming, and the chipotle mayo added this amazing smoky flavor. The burger patty was juicy and cooked perfectly, and all the fresh vegetables added great crunch and flavor. The sesame bun held everything together really well. Coleslaw Lebanese Burger- this was such a unique combination! Made with coleslaw, fries, red onions, tomatoes, ketchup, and American cheese on a sesame bun. I loved how they put the fries right on the burger - it added this perfect crunch and made it so filling. The coleslaw was fresh and creamy, and it paired surprisingly well with the beef patty. The American cheese melted perfectly and the ketchup tied everything together. Such a creative twist on a classic burger! Onion Rings- these were absolutely delicious! The onion rings were perfectly crispy on the outside with sweet, tender onions inside. The batter was light and not greasy at all, which is exactly what you want. They had the perfect crunch and weren't over-fried. Fries- these were really good! They were crispy on the outside and fluffy inside with great seasoning. The perfect side to go with the burgers and had that ideal golden color. I loved how they have a variety of sauces available! We wanted to grab some lunch since we were shopping around the area. Found this spot and noticed they serve Halal meat. We never tried Halal burgers, so we were curious. Check-in: Make sure you check in on Yelp for an old fashioned burger $8.99 combo meal! Parking: They're located in a plaza. Plenty of free parking. Ambiance/Environment: It's a very casual spot. They have a medium sized space with plenty of seating and limited outdoor seating. Service: There were only 2 workers. We mainly interacted with Moe since he took our order and checked on us a couple times. Both workers were quick and efficient. What we ordered: 1) Ranch Burger - This had a good amount of ranch. They also gave us more ranch on the side. The beef patty was cooked well with a generous amount of Swiss cheese! 2) Coleslaw Lebanese Burger - The beef patty was seasoned well! The red onions & coleslaw made it more vibrant and gave it flavor. I'd prefer a bit more fries in the burger, but it was still good. 3) Fried Zucchini - This is exactly what it sounds like and tasted as expected. The breading was good. The burgers are your classic burgers with a few added things and overall they are good. Owners/workers were also very nice and friendly. They walked me through the options and told me what's popular. I tried out these items. Spicy Burger - Personally this one was kind of whatevers. It is a basic burger with jalapenos. Nothing bad, but also nothing too special. (3.5/5) Coleslaw "Labanese" Burger - I enjoyed this one. Coleslaw was creamy and overall this is a VERY saucy burger. Burger patty was flavored well. Had French Fries inside too. (4.5/5) Onion Rings - Honestly felt the sides were the best part. One of the best onion rings I've had because I love it when its super crunchy. Solid (5/5). Fried Zucchini - Also another winner. Good breading and overall flavors. Didn't think it was that greasy. (5/5) Overall I enjoyed this spot. I don't think it's the best burger I've had but for a quick bite I enjoyed it. They have the classic hamburger / cheeseburger meals, but also more unique options like mushroom burger, BBQ burger, Coleslaw Lebanese Burger, and a Sourdough Burger. Default orders come with 1 patty but you can pay a little more to upgrade to 2 patties. I thought the combo (burger, drink, side) was filling! Service was fast and friendly, and I appreciated the fresh veggies + Halal meat patties made in house. PARKING : Shared parking lot with other businesses, but not crowded. You should not have any issues finding parking! FOOD/DRINKS : Straw Onion Burger: sesame bun, chipotle mayo, beef patty, pepper jack cheese, straw onions, tomato, lettuce -- loved the classic sesame bun on this one, and the straw onions added a nice crisp! I had the chance to try Yelp's best burger in the nation in Hawaii at Shige's Saimin Stand, but that doesn't even come close to the burger I had here at Gourmet Burger. If you are served by Mo, hes super friendly and an awesome owner. Make sure to say hi to him as he appreciates every single one of his customers. The plaza it is located in has plenty of parking, and there is a good amount of space inside. Its reminiscant of a simple but homey burger joint. I got to talk to him about this business and how he puts so much effort into making every burger. All the meat is Halal, and prepared fresh daily. They prep, grind and smash the meat for all their patties. Same with the veggies, they are prepped every morning so nothing is left overnight. And not to forget their sauces are homemade as well. I ordered a BBQ burger and a Lebanese coleslaw burger, both had nicely seasoned meat patties stacked with fresh veggies. Taste wise and visually, it was everything a good burger should be. Not greasy, piled high with toppings and delicious. They do put a lot of sauce on the buns, so if you don't like too much sauce just let them know. Overall really solid burger, and it really helps to know everything is prepared fresh. You can taste the difference. read more

Ranch burger: Too much bread and lettuce, missing the ranch flavor (had to get extra), burger patty near paper thin. BBQ bacon cheeseburger: Not bad, but the furthest thing from gourmet. I am normally a guy who takes the top bun off, but I ate this one in full hoping to get my fill (didnt). Fries: Good texture (not soggy, not overly crispy) but lacked all flavor. The bathroom had no seat covers, toilet paper, or hand soap. The toilet leaked heavily when flushing, which explains why the last person who used it did not flush. The cleanest area of this restaurant had to be the outdoor seating area. Maybe we visited on a bad day, which is bad news. read more
