Wagyu smash burgers?! Count me in! My husband and I ordered the skinty gully smash with pastrami added to it and the Bhangra smash to share. From the two, the gully smash was our favorite--it's like a classic smash burger but the addition of pastrami enhanced it! The Bhangra smash was definitely different than any burger I've had before but you can definitely tell the south Asian influences in this one. The burgers were both enjoyable, however, they were on the oily side and felt a bit heavy. I'd say prices here were also pretty steep for what you're getting. I'd say that this is a great option for halal burgers, but I think if you're not restricted to eating halal meat, there are burger options that I like more. The restaurant itself is in a food court that has a decent amount of both indoor and outdoor seating. Service here is friendly and you could really tell that they're passionate about their food here (which is always positive points in my book). read more

My husband and I decided to try Gully's for their smashed burgers. For the Atmosphere, It's located inside a small food hall. On a Friday night, there were only about 4 spots open in that food hall. Gully Burger, inside McFadden Market Place, is a great spot for beef lovers. Their smash burgers are super juicy . They are not exceptional but a good halal option. The fries were excellent too--crispy and fresh. Service was excellent. The place has a cool vibe, like a food court, but with really nice decor and branding. PARKING: I can't remember if you can park in front of the market but you'll have no problem finding public parking in Downtown Santa Ana. I believe due to construction for the streetcar, the city is offering free/discounted parking garages. The patty is loaded with the extra flavors and textures of a bangli kabob-- crunchy, sweet onions, jalapeños, and toasted coriander with a masala spice mix on the outside that fuses into a crazy flavor burger shell that gives hall-of-fame smash burger vibes with an Indian inspired flavor rush that varies slightly from bite-to-bite, making the burger even more special. If my cardiologist saw the look on my face after my first two bites, he would have handcuffed me. I think my wife said something to me, but I don't remember hearing anything except for my internal voice saying, oh my god-- please don't wake up... There really is nothing like it - raita aioli and saffron milk cake are among the striking flavors offered here that you cannot find anywhere else. I tried basically everything on the menu. I did find that menu items felt very similar in flavor. I wish my mango lassi had had ice. We were served immediately and even brought a free chai flavored milk cake which was a super sweet gesture. This place is within the Tustin marketplace. As soon as you walk in it is super aesthetic and perfect for insta. I walked up and saw the desi umbrellas. The whole design reminded me of back home. The popcorn chicken coating is somewhere between a buffalo and Pakistani fry-seasoning, so good. The Jangli fries has beef patties on top that are smashed to perfection and the onions are a delicious addition-- like in n out carmelized onions but less greasy.
