Kimo Shawarma is hands down one of the best! If you're looking for fresh, high-quality, and delicious shawarma, give them a try--you won't be disappointed. Located in the heart of Little Arabia, this place is a hidden gem. Sitting outside with the breeze while enjoying the food is amazing. It feels just like sitting on a street in the Middle East. The taste, the aroma, the warm hospitality, and the setup are all out of this world. There are very few places in Southern California that offer this kind of experience. Highly recommended

We were looking for a late night snack on a rainy day and saw this place was open! PARKING: It's a plaza with theoretically a lot of parking, but somehow we ran into trouble trying to find spots - all of them were filled on a weekday night! Perhaps there was some event there though. WHAT I ORDERED: Chicken shawarma combo THE FOOD: SO GOOD! It's a pretty good portion - you get two of them along with sauces and pickled veggies. The meat was very well seasoned, the sauces (one was garlic and one was a spicier sauce) were good, and we were full after. SERVICE: The owner was SO nice and you could tell he was proud of his food. It wasn't too long of a wait, but perhaps this was because we came on a rainy weekday night - not sure how long the wait typically is if you go on a weekend. VIBES: This place is inside Al Baraka so there's some seating on their half of the restaurant. Definitely great to go with friends as we did, or with a group/family. BOTTOM LINE: I will be back! They were out of the beef shawarma when I went, so that'll be the first thing I order when they reopen.

Little gem, you can smell it from outside. Its tucked away inside Al Baraka Restaurant. Yes it's legit, had both chicken and beef shawarma, comes with tahini, garlic dip, you can sit inside and outside. They were so quick to make and serve our food, the wrap is thin the meat was lean, servers were all helpful. You can also order from both menus, fresh mint tea too.

This shwarma spot is the definition of a hidden gem. It's tucked on the edge of a restaurant in a busy plaza and is probably the juiciest shawarma I've had in a hot minute. At $17 for a plate it was bit on the pricier side but I think it's worth it due to the generous meat ratio. It's safe to say that I'll for sure be back when in town :) read more

I don't write reviews often, so that's a sign of how impressed I was here. Seriously, best shawarma I've had in the OC area and I've had plenty! Great portions, great quality, and great service from the owner. Parking may be tricky (as the lot is narrow) but it's doable. The food is made to order so you will be waiting. Had to look for something to eat right into midnight after leaving an event. Found this place was open till 2am so wanted to give it a shot. You could see the food cooking soon as you pulled up in front. The server was very helpful and friendly and working really hard with 1 disabled leg. Got the lamb combo plate which included a lab shawarma, fries, and a soda for $18. We sat inside at any available table and the food was delivered to us. It was quiet with 2 families eating. The shawarma was tasty but a tad dry and spices were light. However the secret sauce and tahini sauce made up for that difference. Came here the other day with my fiancé craving a late night meal. We found this place on Yelp and decided to give it a shot. Kimo Shawarma is a stand outside of the Al Baraka Restaurant that served us absolutely delicious food. Our orders were taken quickly and our food was out just as fast. I've been coming to this spot for a couple of months now and I completely forgot about giving this restaurant a review till now. The food is a 10/10 and easily the best bang for your buck. I remember when I first came to eat the food after finding this spot randomly on google maps, the man running the front was very welcoming and friendly. I remember talking to him and he told me he works every night, so right off the bat I could tell that he is a hard worker who cares about his restaurant. This place is open till after midnight which is something that is quite rare and a blessing. Absolutely delicious. Reminds me of Georgie's in DC, it's not as oily and feels clean to eat. Chicken is so tender and really juicy. Their sauces are great and the hospitality and service is reallly homey. Feels really good to eat here locally. read more

When you arrive look for the Barakah restaurant, they are the left door to the same place. The chicken shawarma was made quick and was fresh off the grill. There was only one worker that was working at the time, but she did a phenomenal job, considering she was holding down the fort for the restaurant by herself. She also mentioned she doesn't like lamb, but she would eat the one here herself so it gave me a pretty good first impression thus far. We ordered the lamb skewers, grilled rib, shank over rice, homemade yogurt, and Cole slaw. Lamb Skewers - 4.5/5 the portion was very generous! $15 for 3 large skewers that was about 1.25 ft length each. Was perfectly grilled and did not taste gamey at all. I believe it was Szechuan pepper that seasoned the skewers. I didn't eat enough to recognize if there was any numbing, but the bite that I took was amazing. Outside was crunchy inside was chewy enough to enjoy, but not tough. Grilled rib - 5/5 I was very pleasantly surprised at how although it was very charred and crunchy in the outside that the inside was very soft and fatty. The meat literally fell off the bone. Again, no gaminess and very pleasant to enjoy. Shank - 5/5 I would have to say that this was the hero of the evening from all the dishes we ordered. The meat was extremely soft, fatty, and literally fell off the bone as I was holding it up. It was very similar to pork flavor and extremely enjoyable for me. On a separate note, I enjoyed that so much but because I had already eaten before this dinner, I came back a separate day to have that dish for myself. The rice seems to be cooked in some type of protein broth and if I had to guess it's probably lamb broth along with carrot. It also came with size of pickled items to lighten the fatness from the meat as well as a small bowl of lamb based soup. Homemade yogurt - 4/5 had a slight tartness to it and light sweetness, but was more leaning towards the sweet side of things. I enjoyed it with the dried raisins and the granola for texture and it was a pretty good ending to the entire meal. Coleslaw - 3/5 it tasted average and didn't seem to be anything special. Though it was good to have it along with all the other protein items to lighten up each bite.
