Came here for Wednesday lunch and had great service by Bailey/ Bailee? We got the poke nachos to munch on... it was ok! Liked the Serrano garnish . My bf ordered the lobster roll (this was great w some Serrano on top) and I ordered fish tacos. Everything was big in portion and food tasted good. Nothing spectacular but still good. Food came out quickly and we had some sparkling wine on the side- the blanc de blanc What we appreciated was our server noticed there was something in the glass while she was pouring so she went to get a new bottle... we told her it's okay but we thought the steps of service was good and thoughtful so thank you!
Review on a take out only... Very dissapointed how our packaged of to go orders were handled!! First When walking to the car the bottom of the brown paper bag got wet ! Second Some sauce dripped over clothes while carrying the bag! Third when we took out the boxes out of wet paper bag and opened the boxes I noticed that the order with the filet mignon was plated upside down that was supposed to be the cover and had holes to serve as ventilation!!! The drippings of the steak run down those holes and that's the reason the paper bag got wetnfromnthe grease !!!! Overall food were great . I ordered the Fish and Chips ( though batter seems darker and burnt than I expected ) flavorful and tasty!!
It's been a while to come here for lunch. I'd used to shop and eat on weekends in the past at Block at Orange. Lots of restaurants are gone. Sad.... Only Market Broiler stays for years. I love complementary hot sour bread w soft butter. Today I ordered 2 appetizers w Mexican lager tab. Coconut shrimps and shrimp crab flautas. Loved loved both appetizers. I know the coconut shrimps here, great flavors w Pina colada creamy sweet dipping sauce, my fave today was flauras. So good! w spicy chilly dipping sauce and avocado cream. My hubby loved Mexican Lager for the first time. He ordered 2 tabs in a row. He kept saying best lager I never had....haha. Really refreshing, sweet flavor....5 stars. Ambiance was same for years, nothing was changed. Seafood oyster display stand, bar, kitchen, dining booth, and patio area. The service was great, fast. I wish I have more flautas. That good w shrimp and crab. 5 stars! Recommend this appetizer to everyone.
This is definitely one of the finer restaurants at the Orange Outlets. We came here on Tuesday at around 11:30 am. It was a great time and day to come. There was no wait and we were seated instantly and brought our iced teas within minutes. Then they served us really tasty bread. I believe complimentary. One day I might actually look at a restaurant bill. Lol. We ordered two lunch specials. 1. Fish and chips, which came with cole slaw. 2. The steak and shrimp combo, which came with mashed potatoes and veggies. My friend and I both loved our meals. The price was also very reasonable. I highly recommend the lunch specials. I have nothing negative to say. Very good lunch with fast service. The restaurant is very big as well and has a nice decor.
Wide variety of tasty fresh dishes at all hours of the day! There's fresh sourdough bread served as you wait for your meal. Wide variety of drinks from cocktails to beers on tap, as well as wines by the glass. There's TVs at the bar, with ample seating along with great service. There's ambience is always welcoming and a place I enjoy returning to!
I finally got back to Block at Orange today. My wife and I decided to have lunch at MB. Wow!! A lot changed entire outdoor mall.... I missed 2 more old restaurants. Completely gone. Sad, sad... We sat the booth table by the window where we'd used be in the past. We got only 2 appetizers, coconut shrimps w pina colada sweet sauce, Shrimp crab Flautas. I tried Mexican lager tab for the first time. Big surprise for the lager! So refreshing, so good....I loved it. I think the best lager so far. My wife liked flautas w shrimps crab, spicy chili dipping sauce. My wife said they didn't have any pasta w marinara sauce all the time. Only alfredo... We wish they add more pasta dishes w marinara sauce. Today we had a great time right after the 4th of July. We always liked fresh baked sour bread w creamy butter to start. Interior, ambiance, service are all great, nothing changed. Pros Parking is huge. No problem to shop and enjoy dining including watching movies all day. Cons Pasta menu: No marinara sauce Tacos: only soft shell, hope they make hard shell.
Really disappointed with this visit. I remember Market Broiler being pretty good, so I was honestly expecting a lot more from this visit. Unfortunately, the food was really disappointing and, for the most part, just wasn't very good. The overall experience honestly gave me more of a TGI Fridays/Chili's-type vibe, which isn't what I was expecting when I came here. The one thing I actually really enjoyed was the shrimp taquitos appetizer. Those were genuinely delicious and easily the highlight of the meal for me. Unfortunately, that was pretty much the only thing I really loved, which is ultimately why I'm giving this one star. Even the dessert was disappointing, which was especially unfortunate because I was hoping it would at least be a good way to end the meal. Sadly, it didn't really impress me either. The service was okay nothing particularly bad, but nothing that stood out either. It was pretty much what I'd expect from a standard casual restaurant. The food came out fine, and everyone was doing their job, but there wasn't anything memorable about the service. The ambiance was also a little strange for me. There are very bright lights on the ceiling with fans spinning underneath them, which creates this weird flashing/strobing effect while you're sitting there eating. I found it pretty distracting and honestly didn't enjoy it. It wasn't extremely loud inside, but it definitely leaned toward the louder side. Overall, I was really hoping for a much better experience, especially because I remember the food being better in the past. Unfortunately, this visit just didn't do it for me. The shrimp taquitos were great, but I wouldn't personally come back based on the rest of the meal.
I had such a great lunch here! From the friendly greeting to the prompt and courteous table service. Their New England Clam Chowder is very good, and so was everything on the entree plate! Additionally, an outstanding value! ( I sort of wish the hostess would give guests the daily deal menu along with the traditional menu when seated. I had to research it online and hunt one down on a vacant table ) All in all, a really top notch experience! Thanks
Happy Mother's Day! Family lunch at Market Broiler. Steamed clams tasted just like the ones I had in Maine! Lobster roll was authentic, and the salad with seared tuna was the best. Jambalaya reminded me of NoLa. Remy had California rolls with fries and loved them too! Everything was super five-star level.
I decided to try this place during my lunch break and was very disappointed. The staff was not helpful, and the food was not great. They also forgot part of my order, so I had to go back and ask for it. When I arrived and let them know I was there to pick up my order, the manager told me I had to wait for the hostess to help me -- even though my order was clearly sitting right there. Overall, it was a frustrating experience, and we won't be returning.
I really like their social hour food! For $8 you can get Mussel/Frites and for $8 you can get a Clam Andouille sausage pot. They serve it with warm and soft sourdough bread. My husband likes the $13 burger. Their fries are the skinny ones too. Super good. Outdoor patio is dog friendly. Our server was super nice and friendly. Would recommend after some shopping!
Long time diner, first time reviewer. I normally come here for their happy hour menu as they have a delicious selection at reasonable prices. Came here last night for a late dinner. Had the lobster roll. I was sort of disappointed at the small portion of lobster. The lobster to bread ratio was like 2:5. I feel like any restaurant offering lobster rolls always skimps out on the amount of lobster. I had also asked for the fries to be extra crispy, but they came out soft. My boyfriend did enjoy his Ahi Tuna Salad. It looked pretty filling. Overall I think the food is decent but pricey.
It's a sunny Saturday, not too hot or too cold, a perfect day to be working. When you work as a Private Investigator you long for these nice days, especially when you're going to be tracking someone's whereabouts. I love my job, I would do it for free except for the fact that it would then be called stalking. On this fateful Saturday I happened to be tracking a jaded wife that could possibly be hiring a hitman. It is my job to distinguish between possibly and actually, because this distinction can be the difference between life and death. But a person still gets hungry while hiding in bushes and shadowing a target. Luckily for me this jaded wife also ended up hungry while she was shopping around for the perfect hitman. Even luckier for me she decided to grab some seafood at the Market Broiler located inside the Block. This would make hiding in the crowd and not getting noticed easier than usual. Seafood would also be a nice change from the hamburgers and burritos I've been scarfing down in my car while my eyes were glued to the front windshield. The restaurant was a nice size. Perfect! I could blend in and she wouldn't notice that I've been following her since Saks Fifth and Neiman Marcus. I guess she needed a Pashmina scarf on the way to plot her husband's demise. I started off with a Bloody Mary because nothing goes better with a hangover than a Bloody Mary. This being a Saturday and me being a diligent worker, I decided to splurge on food, besides my employer would be footing the bill. I didn't hold back. I started with the oysters, which were delicious, then onto the coconut shrimp and clam chowder. My belly was starting to distend outward but gluttony feels so good on someone else's dime. So I proceeded to order the Fisherman's Stew and the Rock Lobster Tail. By the end of this rampage I was so full I was sweating. But it's Saturday so I went ahead and ordered another Bloody Mary along with some calamari. When I had finished I was delirious and had almost forgotten that I was at work. I looked up to see what the jaded wife was up to, only to realize she was no longer there. I was so entranced in eating I had forgotten to keep my eyes on the target. I took this as a sign from the universe and decided to call it a day. Besides, I had eaten so much food, my body was telling me that I needed to make some room. It was off to home and my porcelain throne. Sometimes there are more important things than work. Stay vigilante and adaptable my friends....

My work team had our team luncheon at the Market Broiler last week - and we were served by the wonderful and attentive Ernesto - who was training Brittany (who also was great!). It was a Tuesday lunch time, right before the rush - but we were seated promptly since we had reservations. Despite it's size, the Market Broiler has great acoustics - no issues hearing our end of the table. Selection is great - a bit of a bummer that the daily specials offering Cioppino is ONLY for Sunday - guess I'll have to make the trip back to try it out. We started out with a generous helping of their freshly baked sourdough bread, accompanied by butter cream. This would be perfect to go with a side of New England Clam Chowder! I opted for the Truffleyaki Butterfish - 7 oz. miso marinated black cod with a truffleyaki glaze, jasmine rice and broccolini. The dish came out in about 15 to 20 minutes - plenty of time to chat with my colleagues. The fish came out sizzling - perfect scoop of fluffy, moist, cilantro jasmine rice, and several sticks of broccolini. The fish was fresh, good size portion for lunch - might be a bit light for dinner. Everyone else on my side of the table (and as far down as I could see the rest of my table) also enjoyed their entrees. Service was attentive - drinks were promptly refilled - plates were cleared. I definitely plan to be back - at least on a Sunday to check out their Cioppino. Hard to find a decent Cioppino in the area - the last place I had great Cioppino was in Monterey, CA. read more

Ambiance - this is a large restaurant so there is always available seating. It has a casual, classy vibe. Service - I believe this is our fourth time here. We brought our friends for dinner because it is one of those restaurants where you can't go wrong. Service is always excellent and food is always fresh and amazing. Food - my friends ordered the fish and chips and a bowl of the New England clam chowder. As usual, we ordered the seafood salad (for me) and my hubby had the ahi tuna salad. We ordered the same salads everytime and the quality is consistently good. Our friends shared their order and were very happy with the generous serving portions. This time, we ordered two desserts which we all shared - butter cake and lava cake. So good! All in all, this is one of our favorite spots. We love the fact that it is quiet and never crowded and the consistency in the quality of their service and food. read more

They had a pretty large menu with pretty impressive items for a restaurant in a mall. The service was great too, very attentive and friendly workers. Calamari: it was sooooooo soggy, I tried a piece when it first came out without the sauce and that was soggy too. I'm 99% sure it would be flaccid even if you ordered the normal one... good flavors though just inedibly mushy. 1.5/5 Drink: pretty tart and didn't have any natural sweetness but they wouldn't know their strawberries were sour and it was pretty refreshing so 3.5/5 -King crab: AMAZING! I was worried after the appetizer but they truly raised the bar with these. It was fresh and huge! I ate when places advertise king crab and the legs look like snow crab legs! They definitely don't play with the portions. Their price point is a lot better than other places too, if you like crab and haven't been able to find an affordable place, I'd give this a shot 5/5 read more

Ann really Ruined my experience Host stated " make sure you seat them where I can keep an eye on them" they did. I felt offended. Is it my tattoos? Is it that I have a disability? What would make you need to keep an eye on me Ann? I was seated insight of the host, felt I was being babysat. Very uncomfortable. No greeting, no welcoming in, no nothing. Food- Lobster roll- 30$ - lobster was dry, tasted like fridge, also weird that they put a big pickle in the roll which takes away from the lobster. I only ate 1 bite and had to get my feelings validated by my boyfriend so he took a bite and was confirmed gross. If you want a lobster roll go to O'connells in Huntington Beach, you get 2 rolls and large side for 25$ do not get it from here. I still paid for it because I already felt like I was being watched for assuming I'd dine n dash and that if I didn't pay for that nasty ass lobster roll that I would be validating to them that they think I'm low class trash. Captains shareable 55$ - huge plater, could easily satisfy whole table, good sauce choices, fried perfectly, has sushi' roll, crab egg roll things, flat shrimp, skinny shrimp, calamari. They did not give me chopsticks or soy sauce for the sushi Also I got the lobster roll before my appetizer. I ordered the pineapple burnt cinnamon drink - it was good, but underwhelming presentation I won't be back unless I get an apology from management and Ann the host for the diabolical commentary. read more

Ernesto took great care of us. He shared with us that starting next week, the last week in May, that there is a new Mediterranean bowl that will hopefully wind up on the menu. We are looking forward to trying that We dined there for my friends to celebrate my friends's birthday. I haven't been to Market Broiler in YEARS and in the past 3 months I've gone 3 times with my family. It's nostalgic for us. It's been here at the Outlets (aka "The Block" for the OGs like me) since day one. We love the clam chowder and pretty much everything we've ordered. The bread and butter is a great starter that we sometimes get full before our entrees, but the entrees always make you wanna dig in. My favorite is the cioppino. The red stew broth is rich and not too salty. The variety of seafood from crab legs to fish blend well together. The standout here is the staff. The servers are attentive and accommodating. We can be a lot but they don't seem to be phased lol. read more

Great place to sit and people watch on the patio. Patio is mostly covered equipped with heaters. Be mindful that smoking is allowed outside of the restaurant So you will find that smoke does what smoke does and it will waft into your outdoor dining area. It is what it is. Food is good and fresh. Service is as quick as it can be... servers seem to be a little overwhelmed. Mind you we went there once for lunch and dinner. Both times the dining pace was not too crazy. Clean restrooms. Be sure to order the oysters and the steamers. Kale salad is also excellent. 10/10 read more
Came in while visiting for a seafood lunch and was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the lunch specials. We started with calamari that was fried perfectly. The seafood salad was loaded with crab and shrimp. The Monday lunch special included grilled salmon and a grilled shrimp skewer, seasonal veggies and another side. My daughter got the cheesy potatoes and I opted for the Brussels Sprouts. The Brussels Sprouts were the only down side of the meal. I am sure they were correctly prepared, but I didn't realize they'd be sweet. Service was fast and attentive. Highly recommend for a smooth, quiet afternoon lunch. read more

Bartender Jen was the most attentive server I've ever met since I entered restaurant industry 40 years ago working through graduate school to get my MBA degree. Awesome service and great customer service. I love this restaurant had been here before in Orange. Today felt special with my nephew and I walking in and the manager acknowledged us. Jessica was an awesome waitress too. I can't believe how many times the manager and others were at our table with water and other items to make sure we were comfortable. My n noticed too and the food was delicious. I had the tacos mahi mahi with mango sauce and red snapper with chips and coleslaw. My nephew had the biggest burger Angus beef and he loved it and the fries. The bread was so fresh and hot. We ate outside and really enjoyed the ambiance of the restaurant. We will be back. read more
LOVE this place! Been going here since I was a young adult. I have a teenage daughter and a 9 year old son that LOVES the food just as much as their Mama. I love starting off our meal with their steamers and pair it off with the complimentary bread. We love the fish & chips, crunchy on the outside and meaty inside. We celebrated Father's Day at Market Broiler, and it couldn't have been a better experience! Bailey was an amazing server--friendly, attentive, and made sure our family had everything we needed. Her positive attitude and excellent service made our meal even more enjoyable. A huge thank you to Heric for going above and beyond to make our Father's Day celebration so special. He took the time to perform a fun little magic trick with an avocado for our baby, Brock, whose favorite food is avocado! Watching Brock's face light up was such a sweet moment that we'll always remember. The food was delicious, the service was exceptional, and the extra effort Bailey and Heric put into making our family feel special truly made the day unforgettable. We came here on a Sunday evening. It was busy, but we were greeted and seated immediately. This location is huge, so there are plenty of tables and booths. This business is located in an outside small, so there is plenty of parking. We ordered the Fisherman's Stew, New England Clam Chowder, and sweet and spicy calamari. The Fisherman's Stew and New England Clam Chowder were fantastic!!! The calamari was good, but needed more seasoning. read more
I have not been here for years and decided to go in because there was a happy hour going on and some items on the menu sound yummy. I chose to sit outside because the weather was nice. I was not too hungry so this was perfect for me. I ordered the clam pot with andouille sausages. It was a perfect size for me and I was also served some fresh warm sourdough bread and whipped butter. The clam pot was filling. I was not hungry for the rest of the day. My total bill including tax and tip came to under $10 so that was such a steal. read more

First time visiting Market Broiler in Orange, and we had a wonderful experience! The restaurant was clean, welcoming, and the food was amazing. We ordered the swordfish, salmon bowl, Poki nachos, and cheeseburger, and everything was delicious. A special shout-out to Kymy, our server, who was outstanding friendly, attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed throughout our meal. Manager Herick was also very pleasant and stopped by to ensure we were well taken care of. Excellent food, great service, and a welcoming atmosphere. We tried this location out for the first time. Sat on the patio at and loved the atmosphere. Our server, Luis, went above and beyond to provide the best service. He was both patient and attentive and had such a welcoming and positive attitude. Really made our experience top shelf! The crab flautas, mahi mahi tacos, and halibut sandwiches were among our favorites! read more
If you're looking for a well balanced meal - MB is the place. I love the menu options and that their portion sizes are balanced. The sourdough bread is yummy too! The service was awesome for a Friday night and it wasn't too crowded - we were able to get seated quite swiftly. I know I recently reviewed this place, but I need to add more about an even more recent visit. My husband and I had dinner here on February 15. It was Valentine's weekend and very busy. I made a reservation on opentable. Anahi was our server and was great. The restaurant was super packed, but we got refills and got checked on quite often. The food was fantastic as usual. The golden shrimp with tartar sauce satisfied my craving. The bbq shrimp appetizer is also fantastic. I enioyed my cup of red clam chowder. My husband noticed he had not received points on the app from the past 2 times we had dined here. He contacted corporate, and Cassandra was quick to help and get our points in. That level of service goes above and beyond and is why we will forever be loyal to this lovely chain. We plan to visit the Nor Cal location very soon on vacation. read more

I was shopping at the outlets and I needed a bite so I strolled into this place and WOW, what a gem! I sat at the bar and the bartender, Jen, was an absolute treat! She was so lovely and accommodating, I felt very welcomed. The prices were a tad high ($17 for a casamigos tequila shot) but the service was omg spectacular! The best part was... I came just 5 mins before happy hour! So I was able to order a $10 margarita and she made it with less sugar (per my request) at the happy hour price (which is just a margarita without the sugar) so I ordered another after my tequila shot! Super cute ambiance at the bar and Jen honestly made it the best! (Oh and side note; I didn't know they offered free bread as an appetizer and it pairs SOOO well with the poke nachos sauce fyi) 10/11 would recommend this place, I just hope you get Jen! read more
Review 26/365 Day Challenge Came here on Saturday around 4:25 p.m. Asked the server if there was a wait for a table of 4 along if the Social hour menu was only serve in the bar area. Associate said we can order from social hour outdoor dining too. It was gonna end at 5 pm. So perfect. What we ordered ~ Poke Nachos. Their poke has been my go to & fav here. It's nacho style served w crispy wontons chips. Very flavorful and has a kick of spice since it has jalapeño slices. Poke is freshly taste. Definitely recommended. ~ Shrimp & Crab Flautas were really yummy rolled like taquitos but more thicker. It was pretty filled w shrimp & crab. Love it. My 1st time having this. Just wished the salsa it same with to dip the flautas in were better tasting. My hubby and i noticed that the salsa has a bit of an aroma taste to it and wasn't the best. ~ Traditional Calamari is always yummy and crispy. One of our families fav appetizer we get here. ~ Parmesan Garlic Fries is another recommended appetizer. It's crispy lightly batteries w small toppings of garlic bits. Not too overpowering w the garlic taste. Love it. ~ Fettuccine Alfredo kids meal is a good size. My son devoured the whole entire meal. Got a side of the Loaded Red Potatoes which was somewhat cheesy topped. Food items came out in a timely manner. Our server is Johnny and he was great. Only complaint I had is, ordered the shrimp tempura roll from the social hour menu. That never came out. I was hungry and that was one of the items I really wanted too. If i were to dine anywhere while shopping at the outlets of orange. It'll be at my go to fav restaurant Market Broiler that's still in business since The Outlets of Orange was open and once called "The Block" of Orange. Located across from not far from Old Navy. Parking is a hit and miss. Can sometimes find parking easily. read more

Great prices on Happy Hour menu. Check the website beforehand. I myself had the traditional fish and chips. Wasn't impressed. It lacked flavor.especially the coleslaw. Service was okay but I wasn't impressed. Been there twice before....and still not quite blown away by the results. read more
