Talk about a throwback to the 70s. This is a spot to grab a big meal, some cold drinks (see Kenorita) and enjoy sports or some Keno! The Kenoritas are $5 and the food portions are enormous. The menu is endless and it has a hybrid diner/steakhouse feel. There are two menus for that. You can eat on the restaurant side or veer right into the bar. And there's usually live music on the weekends. This past weekend, they were playing covers of 60s to 90s. It was great. Highly recommend. Also, note that there are two kenos and both are on La Palma. The one on West La Palma is near Buena Park. This Kenos, on East La Palma is off the 55/91 on Anaheim Hills/Yorba Linda. read more

I was next door at the nursery recently and the aroma of the food cooking at Keno's was so enticing that I recruited my foodie friend to give them a visit a few days later. She has heard great things about their prime rib, which they serve after 4PM daily, so she was eager to try it. The nice part about arriving at 4 meant that we beat the dinner rush! Keno's is "divided" into 2 areas ~ the diner and the lounge. Looking more upscale/formal, we asked to be seated there. No matter which area you're seated at, you can order from either menu. As planned, she ordered the prime rib. They serve breakfast all day and I LOVE breakfast for dinner, so I chose the chicken fried steak and eggs. My husband and son joined us this evening and the son ordered the triple smashburger and the hubs got fish and chips. The overall consensus was that the food was under-seasoned. I salted and peppered my plate a few times and it was still bland. My son and the hub's plates were the same. My friend seemed pleased with her dinner with the exception that the twice baked potato was only filled with filling halfway with the other half just being the baked potato itself. Aside from the food being bland, the portions were generous. We loved our server, Kayla. She was amazing! Super friendly and upbeat, patient with all of our questions and checked on us just the right amount of times. Looking at the tables around us, I noticed that it was usually a person other than the server bringing the food out. Sadly, where Kayla was great, the girl delivering the meal was not. No smile, minimal interaction, she came off as she would rather be anywhere other than at work. Although the service from Kayla was exceptional, the food fell short. Monday Labor Day first of all. Parking was good. There was a 30 min wait for reg table and the lounge had a little bistro in the middle we took instead for a quick seating. Bar/lounge area. She got us coffee as asked but no follow up with creamer till we.asked then we assumed sugar would of followed but the kind people across from us gave us theirs since they knew we had to try to flag her down. Next was our order it was fine however the butter used mainly sat thickly on top of everything. Meaning it's fat margarine not real butter. Disappointed. Great breakfast spot! Very close to the freeway (Imperial Ecit on 90) if youbare looking for a pit stop on the way out if town. They also serve lunch, dinner and cocktails. This place is huge. Lots of seating and a very large parking lot. There are two sides, the Cafe (diner) and the Lounge. Both sides have comfy booths, most are large semi-circles. The lounge side is very cool and has a sunken seating area with a fireplace. 40 years in business and still going strong! We were pleasantly surprised to find no wait upon arrival. However, theybdo have a waitlist on their website to join if needed. We were promptly seated and after we ordered, our food came out so fast. Very solid breakfast date with many options on their extensive menu! Also additional specials! I ordered French Toast Combo with two eggs and sausage. Loved the sausage! 630 pm, Saturday, June 06, 2026 I had never been to Keno's Restaurant. I read this place is famous for it's Tomahawk and other cuts of beef. I called earlier at noonish to ask for a reservation but they don't typically have anything for same day. It's recommended to call at least a day ahead. The parking lot was busy, more available spaces towards the back. Unfortunately, 630 pm was a very popular time to be at Keno's when we arrived. The lobby was very busy for customers wanting to eat in the "Lounge". 7-730pm seemed like a better time as most of the diners had been seated. OMG is it busy for 630 dinner service! It was a 35 minute wait to be seated at the "Lounge" or immediate seating at the cafe side. We were seated in the cafe after a short wait. The hostess told the waiter to seat us right away at a small table. But it seemed the waiter didn't hear or understand, completely ignored her and walked away. Another couple, behind us, kindly pointed out that we were still waiting to the hostess. Hmm, not the attention to detail that I expected from the staff. We'll see how the other service turns out. We were seated at a tiny table near the counter and given the diner and the lounge menus. These guys do not wait for everyone's dinner as my 20 oz Steve's Cut Prime Rib dinner $42.99 came out after 20 minutes. Underwhelming delivery by a runner, no smile, no announcement, just set down the dinner plate and the toppings for the baked potato. No enjoy your dinner, nothing. How can this be that a 20 oz prime rib dinner comes out before the 3 Keno's Sliders appetizer??? Kinda backwards isn't it? Isn't there a kitchen manager controlling and timing these appetizers and entrees? I felt that my steak should have been delayed and been served hot at the same time as the 20 oz Bone-in C. A. B. This place sucks, won't visit again. Waited an HOUR to be seated for a party of six. I was 20-30 minutes, but I kept seen people showing up and putting there information with the host Kena and getting seated with a matter of minutes, we talking party of six and eight. Homemade salad dressings (ranch & blue cheese are my favorites) Delicious patty melt and for dessert the tapioca pudding is absolutely delightful (hands down the best) The only downside is the "LOUNGE", it has become a child care facility with many customers bringing in their screaming kids & babies which RUINS the ambiance of an adult lounge when there is a diner side which is appropriately suited for families. This is a restaurant we come to every few years. It's nice restaurant with a bar. I ordered the Reuben sandwich with coleslaw. The waitress was friendly and helpful as was all the staff. Came in the other night for dinner with a friend and was greeted by manager Shauna! She was so quick to help direct us to the bar area and give us all the specials going on and her personal favorites! It's always amazing when you see a manager on the floor and interacting with guests it truly started our first experience at kenos great! Once we sat at the bar we were greeted by Christy and Miguel. This may be my favorite diner in Anaheim. It's a very large American comfort food diner that specializes in breakfast and lunch. We stopped in for our first time for breakfast and had a great meal. Inside is very large with many different types of seating from booths to counter to table and is divided into many different areas. Even though it was very crowded, we did not have to wait at all to be seated for a party of two. There is a very large free parking lot attached so there were plenty of spaces available when we arrived. Our server was really polite and everything that we ordered arrived shortly after ordering it. The menu is very large and has a lot of great options on it. It took me a while to decide what I wanted, but I chose one of the specials for the day. I went with the Short Rib Eggs Benedict and thought it was really great. There were some fatty pieces that I had to cut off and did not want to eat, but aside from that it had some great flavors and instead of having the English muffin on the bottom, the base was hashbrowns, which was an interesting version of the traditional Benedict. Overall, I really liked it and I would recommend ordering it if available. We had a great breakfast and I already want to come back again to try more items so I would recommend to anyone in or passing through Anaheim. read more

So I have been to the sister keno's which shares ancestry & name only . We chose to eat in the bar which is Amazing! The step down seating around the fireplace the high back booths the wood paneling . I ordered the fish & chips my mother had the fried chicken dinner. Both include soup or salad . We ordered the zucchini as an appetizer. The app arrived they prepare the zucchini cut like fries.crispy on the outside . Tender but not mushy inside. The chicken was delicious as was the fish. SOOOOOOOO FRUSTRATING !! HOW HARD IS IT?? The steak was ordered medium rare and I doublecheck that the ticket said medium rare, which it did. You can see the results here, most noticeably the nice, deep, dark marks on my steak from a Press.!! Why do I have to use a Press on a medium rare steak?? What's obvious is you're cooking staff is screwing you behind your back putting out CRAP food with no attention to detail unless their hands are caught in the pie so to speak. It's also obvious that whoever the managers are there, that not much oversight is being paid to how the food is being cooked and sent out, in particular, in particular!!! to to-go orders.!!! This doesn't happen inside Keno's, this happens with to go orders and I am really tired of it!! So I've made my point, but I have a suggestion to try to improve things , actually a two part suggestion: First, print up a bunch of simple 3 x 5 cards (3 x 5 so they're not just a small slip of paper and a card because it has weight and texture) On this card write a note to the customer stating that the food they receive should be absolutely the best, in both quality and flavour, and if they receive a to-go order that is not they should be calling you or going on YELP and putting a complaint in -- and then sign your name so you own it!! That is a great credibility move and I know how passionate you are your restaurant. It's time to get past these underlings that are just not doing the job but still getting the paycheck. Secondly, at least for the near future, you don't have to announce it publicly but you can keep it privately, have a manager inspect every to go order on their shift and sign the back of that 3 x 5 card I was talking above, "inspected by" and LEGIBLY print his name so we know who he / she is. When you place ownership on the rest of the management team to get the product out the door correctly, the attention to detail and the emphasis on quality can't help but roll downhill!!! I have to give this meal four stars because of the value. It's a half a chicken with sides and soup or salad for 12 bucks on Tuesdays. And the fried chicken is good. My favorite was the mashed potatoes which had their own garlic butter flavor, even without the country gravy on top. I liked the salad too. The dressing seemed like it was made in the house and the lettuce was very fresh. The service was beyond expectations, but I think we just got lucky with our server. You can eat in the dining room or the lounge and that night it seemed like the lounge was more popular. I recommend this particular meal on this particular night. read more

For as many years as I have driven past Keno's Restaurant, I never really considered eating here always thinking it was your typical Mom & Pop coffee shop that was popular with the area locals. Recently I saw a social media posting about Keno's Lounge which harkened back to the days of the old school steak houses back in the day and that still exist in some of your largest metropolitan cities (Las Vegas, San Francisco, Chicago, New York, etc.). But what intrigued me the most was Keno's Tomahawk Steak for two at a reasonable price. I told my wife and she was excited to Keno's too. Since we were interested in trying a Tomahawk entree as well as their prime rib entree, I was unsure if the restaurant had separate menus, one for the coffee shop side and one for the lounge, since many Yelp postings indicated that they ordered their Tomahawks in the lounge area. I was very impressed with the attentiveness and speed with the response I received from the owner of Keno's, Steve C. just minutes after I posted my question on Keno's Yelp profile Q&A asking if there are separate menus for the lounge and restaurant. Steve graciously responded by indicating that "we offer all menus in both the lounge and coffee shop, including our full bar menu!" Well, that response sealed our decision for our Pre-Mother's Day & Pre-Birthday dinner celebration! My wife, youngest son and I stopped by on the Saturday night before Mother's Day around 1700 hours. The parking lot is spacious and it was already half full. We went in and were immediately greeted by young male host who advised us that the if we ordered the Tomahawk and Prime Rib in the coffee shop area, our entrees may be served quicker than in the lounge, which I observed walking in, was quite busy already. BTW, the lounge is literally to the right of the cash register area, past the CA Lottery machines. Our friendly host showed us to our booth which was spacious and comfortable. The coffee shop dining area was starting to fill up as well. Within minutes, our server, Taylor G., arrived at our booth and took out drink order first, then returned to take our orders. We ordered: 1-Tomahawk Steak (32 oz.) for two $79.99; 1-Steve's Cut Prime Rib of Beef (20 oz.) $42.99 2-Caesar Salads (shown on receipt as one Dinner Salad $7.99) 3-Soft Drinks $11.07 Pre-tip Total with Tax: $153.05 Our two Caesar salads arrived. Honestly not the best. Not very cold, a little too light on the dressing that lacked any real Caesar type flavor profile. We don't like to waste food, but it was difficult to finish. The main attractions soon were served. A beautiful looking Tomahawk steak sizzling away on cast serving platter placed on a wooden cutting/serving board with two beautiful oven baked potatoes accompanied by some of the best grilled veggies (broccolini and baby carrots) we have ever tasted in a restaurant! The Tomahawk was cooked to our medium rare request, with just the right amount of salt. It was more than enough for two fairly hungry adults (think 2-16 oz. steaks). For the price at Keno's it was a tasty, affordable Tomahawk. Yes, there are much better prime cuts out there, but your price point will be a lot higher too. The grilled veggies were awesome! Wish we had more on our serving board. We were too stuffed to eat our baked potatoes but they came with whipped butter, sour cream and chopped green onions for toppings. Our son tried to devour his 20 oz. prime rib, also presented as requested medium rare. It was a very nice looking piece of beef, with all the same grilled veggies and a baked potato also. Our son normally doesn't eat the fat on prime rib anywhere, but for some reason, Keno's prime rib cut enticed him to do so. At first time patrons of Keno's, we were all very impressed with the menu selections offered, the attentive and friendly service from the entire Keno's staff we interacted with and the really great tasting food at a reasonable price. I don't know what i was eating. I believe they still have chicken night. I think they make chicken once a week and microwave the leftovers. I don't know, but it's that bad.
