Crazy to think this place is always packed with their prices and food quality /portions! I purchased a chicken quesadilla yesterday , and it was honestly one of the most disappointing meals I've had. 630 pm, Saturday, June 06, 2026 I had never been to Keno's Restaurant. I read this place is famous for it's Tomahawk and other cuts of beef. I called earlier at noonish to ask for a reservation but they don't typically have anything for same day. It's recommended to call at least a day ahead. The parking lot was busy, more available spaces towards the back. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Unfortunately, 630 pm was a very popular time to be at Keno's when we arrived. The lobby was very busy for customers wanting to eat in the "Lounge".[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] 7-730pm seemed like a better time as most of the diners had been seated. OMG is it busy for 630 dinner service! It was a 35 minute wait to be seated at the "Lounge" or immediate seating at the cafe side. We were seated in the cafe after a short wait. The hostess told the waiter to seat us right away at a small table. But it seemed the waiter didn't hear or understand, completely ignored her and walked away. Another couple, behind us, kindly pointed out that we were still waiting to the hostess. Hmm, not the attention to detail that I expected from the staff. We'll see how the other service turns out. We were seated at a tiny table near the counter and given the diner and the lounge menus. These guys do not wait for everyone's dinner as my 20 oz Steve's Cut Prime Rib dinner $42.99 came out after 20 minutes. Underwhelming delivery by a runner, no smile, no announcement, just set down the dinner plate and the toppings for the baked potato. No enjoy your dinner, nothing. How can this be that a 20 oz prime rib dinner comes out before the 3 Keno's Sliders appetizer??? Kinda backwards isn't it? This is a restaurant we come to every few years. It's nice restaurant with a bar. I ordered the Reuben sandwich with coleslaw. The waitress was friendly and helpful as was all the staff. So I've made my point, but I have a suggestion to try to improve things , actually a two part suggestion: First, print up a bunch of simple 3 x 5 cards (3 x 5 so they're not just a small slip of paper and a card because it has weight and texture) On this card write a note to the customer stating that the food they receive should be absolutely the best, in both quality and flavour, and if they receive a to-go order that is not they should be calling you or going on YELP and putting a complaint in -- and then sign your name so you own it!! That is a great credibility move and I know how passionate you are your restaurant. It's time to get past these underlings that are just not doing the job but still getting the paycheck. Secondly, at least for the near future, you don't have to announce it publicly but you can keep it privately, have a manager inspect every to go order on their shift and sign the back of that 3 x 5 card I was talking above, "inspected by" and LEGIBLY print his name so we know who he / she is. When you place ownership on the rest of the management team to get the product out the door correctly, the attention to detail and the emphasis on quality can't help but roll downhill!!! This may be my favorite diner in Anaheim. It's a very large American comfort food diner that specializes in breakfast and lunch. We stopped in for our first time for breakfast and had a great meal. Inside is very large with many different types of seating from booths to counter to table and is divided into many different areas. Even though it was very crowded, we did not have to wait at all to be seated for a party of two. There is a very large free parking lot attached so there were plenty of spaces available when we arrived. Our server was really polite and everything that we ordered arrived shortly after ordering it. The menu is very large and has a lot of great options on it. It took me a while to decide what I wanted, but I chose one of the specials for the day. I went with the Short Rib Eggs Benedict and thought it was really great. There were some fatty pieces that I had to cut off and did not want to eat, but aside from that it had some great flavors and instead of having the English muffin on the bottom, the base was hashbrowns, which was an interesting version of the traditional Benedict. Overall, I really liked it and I would recommend ordering it if available. We had a great breakfast and I already want to come back again to try more items so I would recommend to anyone in or passing through Anaheim. read more

You can tell when someone is just "doing the job" versus actually caring about the customer experience, and Vanessa absolutely cared. I have to give this meal four stars because of the value. It's a half a chicken with sides and soup or salad for 12 bucks on Tuesdays. And the fried chicken is good. My favorite was the mashed potatoes which had their own garlic butter flavor, even without the country gravy on top. I liked the salad too. The dressing seemed like it was made in the house and the lettuce was very fresh. The service was beyond expectations, but I think we just got lucky with our server. You can eat in the dining room or the lounge and that night it seemed like the lounge was more popular. I recommend this particular meal on this particular night. read more

For as many years as I have driven past Keno's Restaurant, I never really considered eating here always thinking it was your typical Mom & Pop coffee shop that was popular with the area locals. Recently I saw a social media posting about Keno's Lounge which harkened back to the days of the old school steak houses back in the day and that still exist in some of your largest metropolitan cities (Las Vegas, San Francisco, Chicago, New York, etc.). But what intrigued me the most was Keno's Tomahawk Steak for two at a reasonable price. I told my wife and she was excited to Keno's too. Since we were interested in trying a Tomahawk entree as well as their prime rib entree, I was unsure if the restaurant had separate menus, one for the coffee shop side and one for the lounge, since many Yelp postings indicated that they ordered their Tomahawks in the lounge area. I was very impressed with the attentiveness and speed with the response I received from the owner of Keno's, Steve C. just minutes after I posted my question on Keno's Yelp profile Q&A asking if there are separate menus for the lounge and restaurant. Steve graciously responded by indicating that "we offer all menus in both the lounge and coffee shop, including our full bar menu!" Well, that response sealed our decision for our Pre-Mother's Day & Pre-Birthday dinner celebration! My wife, youngest son and I stopped by on the Saturday night before Mother's Day around 1700 hours. The parking lot is spacious and it was already half full. We went in and were immediately greeted by young male host who advised us that the if we ordered the Tomahawk and Prime Rib in the coffee shop area, our entrees may be served quicker than in the lounge, which I observed walking in, was quite busy already. BTW, the lounge is literally to the right of the cash register area, past the CA Lottery machines. Our friendly host showed us to our booth which was spacious and comfortable. The coffee shop dining area was starting to fill up as well. Within minutes, our server, Taylor G., arrived at our booth and took out drink order first, then returned to take our orders. We ordered: 1-Tomahawk Steak (32 oz.) for two $79.99; 1-Steve's Cut Prime Rib of Beef (20 oz.) $42.99 2-Caesar Salads (shown on receipt as one Dinner Salad $7.99) 3-Soft Drinks $11.07 Pre-tip Total with Tax: $153.05 Our two Caesar salads arrived. Honestly not the best. Not very cold, a little too light on the dressing that lacked any real Caesar type flavor profile. We don't like to waste food, but it was difficult to finish. The main attractions soon were served. A beautiful looking Tomahawk steak sizzling away on cast serving platter placed on a wooden cutting/serving board with two beautiful oven baked potatoes accompanied by some of the best grilled veggies (broccolini and baby carrots) we have ever tasted in a restaurant! The Tomahawk was cooked to our medium rare request, with just the right amount of salt. It was more than enough for two fairly hungry adults (think 2-16 oz. steaks). For the price at Keno's it was a tasty, affordable Tomahawk. Yes, there are much better prime cuts out there, but your price point will be a lot higher too. The grilled veggies were awesome! Wish we had more on our serving board. We were too stuffed to eat our baked potatoes but they came with whipped butter, sour cream and chopped green onions for toppings. Our son tried to devour his 20 oz. prime rib, also presented as requested medium rare. It was a very nice looking piece of beef, with all the same grilled veggies and a baked potato also. Our son normally doesn't eat the fat on prime rib anywhere, but for some reason, Keno's prime rib cut enticed him to do so. At first time patrons of Keno's, we were all very impressed with the menu selections offered, the attentive and friendly service from the entire Keno's staff we interacted with and the really great tasting food at a reasonable price. Last night Saturday 4/4/26 my friend texted me if I wanted to meet up for dinner and that it was my turn to pick. I replied yes and had this chinese place in mind. However, the wait time was like 30 minutes and then Keno's popped in my mind. I always wanted to visit Keno's because it's one of the few places that serves Prime Rib nightly and my friend loves Prime Rib. We get there a little past seven and were warmly greeted by the hostess. I didn't know there are two sections to the restaurant. To the left is the cafe and to the right is the lounge. Cafe side is their diner style room similar to a Norms landscape. The lounge has live music, a bar, describe as a Vegas lounge. We took a seat on the Cafe side was approached by our server Sarah. Sarah was a young woman who got us situated with the menus and asked if we had any questions. My friend ordered Steve's cut Prime Rib 20z with regular french fries and comes with veggies. I chose the lamb chops with steak cut fries and it comes with carrots and asparagus. While we waited for our food we ordered a bottle of their house cabernet wine which was delicious don't recall the winery. The food came out promptly and Sarah came by and politely made sure we were all settled. My friend and I split our plates so we each got prime rib and lamb chops to try for dinner. Everything was made perfectly especially the Lamb. It was nice and tender and flavored really well. My friend loved the sauce it was dipped in. The veggie sides and fries complimented the meat. While working her section Sarah made sure we were taken care off. Towards the end of the meal we made some small talk with Sarah and asked for future recommendations since we would be returning. She highly recommends the breakfast, mexican food, and their fried chicken which is their Tuesday Special. Our server Renee was super helpful as she navigated us through their big menu and even though the brunch time cutoff already had been passed, she went ahead and went the extra mile to let us still order what we wanted(the loco moco). I didnt expect much given this wasn't a Hawaiian restaurant but I was thrilled to say that it was pretty good! For dessert, we were recommended the chocolate cake and most importantly, their butter cake. Let me tell you, this butter cake was out of this world! I didn't even realize I had finished it until I was scraping at the crumbs. Overall, the food was great and having Renee as our server was a real treat! We waited about 30-45 minutes to be seated. The food was okay. Not bad but nothing memorable. I am sure that there are other options that we will try next time we visit. Fernando was our server. He was a bit unfriendly when we first arrived but he warmed up and was overall good. All of the staff were helpful and pleasant. The lounge area is where we sat so we could experience the entertainment provided by Douglas Roegiers. The booths are beautiful and comfortable. The decor was appropriate.
