    28 Day aged prime rib
    Erika T.

I always keep coming back here for the one and only 28 day aged Prime Rib. We started off with some much needed drinks. Arnold Palmer and an original margarita were the choice of drinks. For appetizers we did the four cheese fondue with the roasted garlic and olive oil....it is soo delicious and melts beautifully on the soft bread. The bread has that inner softness with crunchy outside layer. The prime rib here is incomparable to any other I've tried. We always ask for extra au-jus on the side for dipping if needed, but the prime rib is already so juicy and flavorful that the au-jus is me going the extra mile for flavor. Our server today Matthew M was so energetic, lively and so attentive throughout the night. Not only was he friendly but he was genuinely caring and today after a long week, it's exactly what I needed on this dinner night. Will continue coming back and definitely recommend this place for their Prime Rib (and

Great Prime Rib sandwich! I was meeting a friend for lunch. I selected this restaurant due to the good reviews on Yelp. It did not disappoint. I ordered the Ultimate Dip & Clamchowder Cup. My friend opted for a Spinach dip and a Prime Rib sandwich (regular). Total for the both of us was ~ $96.00. Service by Matthew was very good. He waited for us to dig into our appetizers before placing the sandwich order. His timing was spot on. He refilled soda and water regularly. Food was delicious! Au jus was warm and container it was brought out in was sufficient enough to dunk the sandwich! Prime Rib was melt in your mouth. Clamchowder was hot and tasty. My friend is a regular here and loves their Prime Rib sandwich. He had half the sandwich and a whole lot of fries leftover to take home! i.e portion size was generous for the price! Good service. Tasty Prime Rib sandwich! Check this restaurant out!

I always passed by this place and finally had a chance to try it. Loved everything about it from the service to the food to the dog friendly patio! Wine selection was excellent and a very reasonable price too. They don't lie about how tasty their Prime Rib is either, but really everything we had was excellent. Our server Davey was awesome and so kind to us and my fur-baby as well. Amazing experience and highly recommend!

I have to give a rating of 3 stars for my visit to Prime Cut Cafe. I came to try their OCRW menu. I ordered the filet mignon stroganoff and carrot cake and my husband ordered the prime rib and sorbet. I would say the food was 3.5. Not terrible but nothing mind blowing. I also got a pomegranate lemon drop martini and it was so horrible. Tasted like cough syrup. I had my husband try and my friends sipped a bit and they all agreed. I had to send it back and I got a different drink. The worst part of the experience for me was finding out that they use peanut oil in a lot of their cooking. As a parent of a child with peanut allergy - it was stressful to say the least. Pretty much all of the kids menu was cooked with peanut oil because a lot of the food is fried. I will probably not come back due to the peanut oil.

The food is excellent. My Top Sirloin, Maine Lobster, and mashed potatoes with green beans were sinful. The mashed potatoes are absolutely delicious. A squeeze of lemon and a slight dip in the butter had my Lobster popping with flavor in my mouth. The Top Sirloin was prepared just as I requested. I wish it would've been one whole piece instead of 3 nuggets. The medium cooked Prime Hanger Steak was delicious as well. Just wish they would've let it rest before slicing it and serving it with blood surrounding the plate. Those mashed potatoes I would come back for! The restaurant is setup nicely with a variety of seating options.

It's been a few years since I've been to Prime Cut Cafe and it's still as good as I remembered. I was in the plaza to watch a movie at the Cinemark Theaters next door. We came for an early dinner around 5pm and it was already pretty crowded. I got the petite cut prime rib with garlic sautéed spinach side. The prime rib was cooked perfectly at medium rare, the way I asked for it. My friends asked for medium and well done, their orders were cooked to perfection too. The meat was juicy and tender with the au jus being flavorful but not salty. The garlic sautéed spinach tasted very fresh and flavorful. We had to rush to catch our movie so we didn't get a chance to try other food or desserts, I would love to try it next time. The restaurant is part of a big busy shopping plaza, there is free parking but when it's busy you will have circle around to find parking. The wait staff was very nice and attentive.

Been wanting to come and try this place for a long time. Happy that even though many restaurants near by have come and gone this place is still here. Made reservations for my parents anniversary. Very happy I brought them here. Although they had already previously visited this place, they were happy to return for the great food and welcoming atmosphere. Staff were very friendly and attentive. The restaurant was clean both inside and the patio areas. Restrooms were very clean as well. Great selection of beer and cocktails. Even though this is a steakhouse, they did have some great non- steak options like salmon and burgers and salads. Very happy I stopped by, wil definitely l be returning.

A glass of wine before the Ducks game

We came here on a Sunday before a Anaheim Ducks game. It was busy, so we just grabbed seats at the bar. We got our glasses of wine quick, but the food took a very long time. We ordered a burger and a filet mignon salad (to be prepared medium rare, but it was well done). The Chargers game was on all 4 TVs. It's not a bad place to come for a casual dinner, but it's not a destination place.

This review is between 4 and a 5, as I had no complaints. I laughed when I saw previous review as now it's 3 for roughly $60 plus some meals are a little extra. Josh was our server nice and attentive. Made a couple of minor switches for us. I had 2 House Old Fashions good and a reasonable price. My husband had a glass of the Pinot Grigio also priced reasonable for our times. I had the Apple salad which I usually have and my husband had the butternut squash soup, which was quite good. We both got the Sea Bass, crab (just a little bit) and Shrimp Oscar. We ate everything with no complaints. Both came with vegetables s and potatoes. We took carrot cake to go but ate it later. It wasn't too sweet and just the right size. It wasn't too noisy but most of the tables were full for a wonderful Christmas Eve night.

We experienced such great service from the time that we walked in until the second that we left. The host (he gave his name, and I forgot what it was, sorry!) and server, Matt, were very welcoming. The restaurant was quiet although there was a good amount of people there enjoying their meals with family/friends. I was able to see the baseball game on the TV in the bar from where I was sitting in the main dining area. Anyway, on to the food! We were told about the current specials, we were offered meal suggestions, and were advised that happy hour was still happening. We didn't partake in any of those offerings, but it was great to know that they were available. We decided on the Devilish Eggs to start with, and the Prime Cut Cheeseburger (with no tomato) and the Bacon-Blue Burger. The burgers come with the most delicious thin cut fries, fried in peanut oil. I asked for a side of bleu cheese dressing as my dipping sauce for my fries. It was a great bleu cheese, very chunky, just how I like it. The burger patties are freshly house-ground Angus chuck meat. You can really taste, and appreciate, the fresh meat. I really enjoyed my food, I will definitely come back soon!

Attending a meetup group event at Prime Cut Café and Wine Bar for orange county restaurant week. Ordered the spinach and artichoke dip for an appetizer while we waited for the rest of the guests to arrive. Stayed with the restaurant week menu, starting with a Cesar salad, prime rib for a main served with yorkshire pudding, creamy mashed potatoes, creamed spinach, Horseradish, and au jus. Everything tasted great. Finished up with the chocolate ganache for dessert. Janet was our server and took great care of our party of 10. I'm definitely coming back.

    Machiko N.

The prime rib here is excellent! There are 2 sizes 8 and 12 ounces. I got the 8 ounces with garlic mashed potatoes. My niece got the filet minion and shrimp. Then for desert we ordered the carrot cake which amazing. It was so moist with raisins, nuts and the cream cheese frosting was good. It's easy to make reservations on yelp

    Ribeye with whipped potatoes
    Brooke N.

Started with clam chowder which was good! We also had the deviled eggs with bacon, loved them! My husband and I both had the ribeye, medium, with whipped potatoes. We had a side of chimichurri and roasted garlic. Everything was delish and our steak was cooked perfectly! Davy was our server and he was sweet and attentive. It was kind of slow being a Wed and we had no wait. It's a really pretty place! Nice and spacious with great lighting. You can dress up or down here.

There didn't seem to be a dress code but people were mostly dressed nice. The service was phenomenal. We were greeted by the owner himself and he made sure that we were seated and comfortable and helped us understand the menu and their wine selection. Our server was amazing as well. She was very attentive in taking our order. For food I ordered the crab cakes, the shishito peppers, and the Atlantic salmon with the chimichurri sauce on the side. I substituted the mashed potatoes for French fries because I don't eat dairy. Everything was delicious and a little different. For the shishito peppers usually these are served with a tangy sauce and the shishito peppers are blistered. With this dish the shishito peppers were still blistered but they were served on a sweet mustard sauce. For the salmon that was also delicious, served with vegetables. The French fries were great. The crab cakes were pretty good. Now if you're from Maryland you are not going to like these crab cakes, of course, because you're from crab cake capital, but for California crab cakes they were good. I would definitely come back here. I didn't get to try the wine but next time I will definitely try some of the wine and some additional food dishes.

Ever since then, it's become a regular spot for us. The owners Sonya and Mike are truly what make Colony special -- but so does their incredible staff. I can't say enough good things about Shalene, Molly, Camille... anyone we come in contact with is always so sweet and attentive. The wine selection speaks for itself. Sonya does a great job at bringing a rotating selection that we always enjoy. There is always a featured flight that, a great selection of white, red, and bubbles, and they even have some craft beers available as well. There is also a great selection of wine to purchase to take home with you after. But the food. Oh my, you don't just go to Colony for the wine because their food is absolutely FANTASTIC. You can't go wrong with their charcuterie, and let me tell you they have the BEST french fries in Orange County. The daily specials have never disappointed and on Tuesday nights you can't get one of the best grilled cheese around. We love visiting on Thursday nights because the owner Mike does live music on Thursdays where he sings and plays the guitar. To our surprise, we were so thrilled to see Colony Wine Merchant had a good sized menu with various options to choose from: small bites, appetizers, entrees and dessert. The soup had the perfect consistency of creaminess followed by savory tomato flavor. It had some delicious (and I think) roasted potatoes, and the side of roasted sourdough with roasted tomatoes was perfection and really brought the dish together beautifully. The daily sandwich of the day was also fantastic! We remember biting into the sandwich and it melting in our mouth. The bread was beautifully crunchy and the meat with all its toppings inside couldn't have been any better. For our drinks, we opted to do a tasting of whites and reds. The wines were selected by our host (if I recall) and remember enjoying them all. It was fun to taste not only different varietals, but wines from different parts of the world. I was especially excited to see they had a really great selection of wine bottles to purchase in their wine shop. I happened to see one of my favorite ones there. We ended up purchasing a sparkling wine bottle at the end of our experience to have with our thanksgiving meal the following day. The service was A+. Every interaction from when we first walked in the door, being seated, being provided food recommendations, was a great experience. The ambiance is perfectly casual with a slight elevatedness to it. You don't have to wear a cocktail dress or tux to come here but it's definitely a perfect date night place or to come with friends and loved ones and enjoy a delicious meal followed by great wine.
