    Chilaquiles Divorciados

Haven't been to Anepalcos in a few years and decided to give it a try. From what i remembered, the portions were great and the flavor was amazing! Well atleast the flavor is still there . Portions are a lot smaller now and was a little disappointed, especially for the price. I did try the coffee de olla and that was amazing! Service was great, not too many people and during the week so we had amazing service and a lot of suggestions from our server . The restaurant is a lot bigger than the one on Main Street and I'm glad they kept the guava and horchata French toast at this location. But very bright , very roomy and they play all the jams over the speakers, it was a great ambiance for sure! I had the chilaquiles divorciados and i loved that they came in a bowl and had the option for chicken tinga in them as well!!

The food was decent; however, overpriced and too harsh on my sensitive stomach. I special ordered, but still managed to have a horrible reaction. The service and ambiance were great; yet we were overcharged for a drink. Overall, it was a nice family outing but I will think twice if visiting again.

What a beautiful restaurant with some picture perfect food! We ordered the huevos divorciados, guava french toast, and their classic palomas. Really great flavors all around and our server was incredibly sweet and attentive too.

This place got even better than its previous 5 star authentic Mexican food rating. I would their Chilaquiles a 6 stars out of 5 stars if possible. Seriously BEST CHILAQUILES in town. The new pozole trio is also a big hit. The outstanding service was friendly, caring and very helpful. The staff clears dirty plates very fast. The restaurant is warm, bright, vibrant with fun Mexican music in the background. It's a fun place to relax and have an award winning margarita with fresh juices. This is our favorite Mexican restaurant in the area

Anepalco's chilaquiles have been one of my favorite dishes for over fifteen years. Over the years, the restaurant has expanded to make upscale Mexican food. They make good mole and cochinita pibil; however, I can't say that my favorite dish is still the same. At one point anepalco's was a cafe; however, their model is now more upscale with dishes costing $20+. It's fine, but it's also not the same place. If coming for breakfast, it's nice to get breakfast and a trio of mimosas. I'll probably come again to have my chilaquiles, but I'll ask for extra salsa macha for that boost of flavor that I remember

Okay this is a unique restaurant. Firstly let's start with all the positives because this place does have a lot of good. Location: Its location is amazing. It's walking distance from The Block. It's located at a hotel but has its own separate entrance. So it doesn't feel like you're going to a hotel restaurant. Food: The food is absolutely amazing. So many flavors and truly amazing ingredients. Design: Okay inside looks so cozy and wonderful. Truly a relaxing restaurant and I loved it. The outside patio was also very nice but was not used when we were there. Chairs: Honestly these things surprised me in a great way. They are big and very comfortable. They creat a very relaxed feel to this restaurant. Now the not so good. Tables: The tables are very small. Especially if you're a group of two. When you receive a plate for your enchiladas, a separate plate for your rice and beans, a bowl for chips, another plate with salsas, another bowl for guacamole, and a tiny space for drinks. It gets extremely tight and hard to manage it all. Also these tables are made with a giant stand in the middle. Meaning you won't be able to comfortably sit in the chairs and be close enough to the table. So you will need to pull a plate into your lap, hold the plate, or heavily lean to ensure you can fit properly. Overall this table was the most annoying part of the entire setup. The outside tables looked to not be the same and looked like normal tables. The tables are also very close to each other so if someone backs their chair up too far, you will not be able to get up from your chair. Personally I think they need to space out the tables more and get new tables that don't restrict your movement as much. Overall, I would go back but I would make sure to avoid those tables if I return.

We stopped by Anepalco for a relaxing lunch before heading to OC for some afternoon activities, and it was such a great choice! We started with the appetizer sampler, which included ceviche, street corn, and avocado guacamole, all fresh and flavorful. The presentation and ambiance were a step above your typical Mexican restaurant, creating a more elevated dining experience. For our main dishes, we had the vegan taco and the steak taco, both served on handmade tortillas made with both yellow corn and purple corn flour. Not only were they visually appealing, but the flavor and texture of the tortillas really stood out and enhanced the dishes. The cocktails were just as impressive, beautifully presented with unique, refreshing flavors and good kick from alcohol. Even the kids' menu was a hit! The grilled ham sandwich and cheese quesadilla were both tasty. We will definitely be coming back to try more of the menu. Anepalco takes traditional Mexican flavors and elevates them with creativity, quality ingredients, and great presentation. The only issue was to find a parking space if you come during a hot season, since they are sharing parking spaces with the hotel guests.

In Orange today, stopped by here for a quick lunch. We sat on the patio. It was a sunny warm day. Perfect for the patio. I ordered the Fish Tacos. They were really good. Probably the best I've had recently. The make the tortillas to order and the fish was lightly fried. It was very moist. The toppings were also perfect. My wife got the Tacos Dorados. They were food, but a little dry. However the salsa and avocado mousse they came in was so tasty! Overall a very good find! The server was very sweet. We will be back.

First time checking out this Anepalco location! I have to say, I love the ambience here more than their other spot. The greenery and beautiful bar create such a great interior, though their limited hours (open late morning) are worth noting. Parking was a little confusing. The lot is shared with a couple of hotels and signs say "pay before you leave" with a daily rate. However, when I asked the hotel, they said dining guests don't need to pay - so just a heads up for first-timers. Now for the food ~ absolutely delicious! Our table ordered the Green Chilaquiles with chicken (the favorite), Huevos Divorciados, and Chilaquiles Divorciados. Everything was beautifully presented, portions were generous for the price and the flavors were excellent. The Guava French Toast wasn't quite as good as I remembered, but still solid. Service was friendly, although a bit scattered at first. Once we were seated, we were well taken care of with waters constantly refilled & finished dining in under an hour. Overall, this place has a lot of potential. The vibes, the service, and the bar are all on point. If they added craft coffee/espresso drinks to their brunch menu, it would take things to the next level. Parking could also be clarified better for new visitors (but I also may have missed this somewhere). That said, it's a great spot and I'd come back!

I haven't been here in years, so I was so excited to come back! Service was great. The waitress serving us was down to earth and made us such delicious drinks. Food was top notch. The calamari with that sauce was unforgettable. I couldn't get over it. Enchiladas were rich in flavor, I almost fell into a coma. First time having a chipotle ahi tuna salad mix. The layout is great here. The only complaint I have is when I came here years ago, they offered the chilaquiles for dinner, this time they said the chef took it off the menu. Big mistake! Best thing they offer is their chilaquiles! I love chilaquiles, and their version is quite different, yet amazing! Why can't they offer the best dish they have on their menu?

My group and I came on Mother's Day (Sunday) and we loved our experience! We had reservations for 10:30am for an outside table. We were sat right away and our table was very shady so the sun was not an issue. I ordered the chile relleno which came with corn, cheese, steak, and shrimp inside. It was delicious but I thought it was a small portion compared to everyone else's. My sister got the steak sandwich which she loved. My mom got the chilaquiles divorciados which I did have a bite of, they were very flavorful. We also got both the guava French toast and horchata French toast to all share. There were a few very tiny things I was disappointed about. The first thing was they ran out of brunch menus and the other thing was the parking was confusing. One of us did pay for parking before the restaurant told us that paying for parking was only needed for overnight parking which is not stated on the sign.

The space is BEAUTIFUL, both during the day and at night. When we checked in on Friday evening they even had live music, but unfortunately I was feeling a little sick so I skipped it and told myself I'd redeem the experience the next day before heading to Disneyland. And I'm glad I did. In the daytime, the patio area is gorgeous--you can really appreciate the firepit seating and the little lake with koi fish outside. Such a relaxing vibe. We came by around 4PM to pregame before Disney and the bar was pretty busy. Huge shoutout to Arvey, the bartender who took care of us during our visit. Not only was the service exceptional, but he genuinely made some of the best cocktails we've had in a while. Sitting at the bar and watching him make the drinks was honestly part of the experience itself. At first we were trying to customize and tweak our drinks because we usually stay in our comfort zone, but after talking with him and learning more about the ingredients in The Peel's specialty cocktails, we decided to trust the process a little more. We ordered the Dragonfly and Playing With Fire, and both were amazing--beautiful presentation, really balanced flavors, sweet and sour in the best way. We're usually not big foam cocktail people either, but this visit might've changed our minds a little. Also, Playing With Fire came with a fun little presentation moment which made it even better. Honestly, I was really impressed with my experience here. I even came back for another drink at breakfast before checking out of the hotel lol. The dining area also looked beautiful and the food coming out to other tables looked really good too. Definitely looking forward to coming back anytime I'm around the Anaheim area again.

Parking validation is done at the front desk. They have a solid menu of appetizers, entrees and desserts and a very nice craft cocktail menu. It's sectioned off at the south east end of the lobby and feels like a more open space than a standard restaurant or bar and the vibe feels very OC, hipster, upscale. The only downside is the service is not consistent the last two times we've been here. The night we visited, there was a singer playing piano between the bar and restaurant area. I love entertainment at any venue, but the sound was way too loud for indoors and we couldn't hear each other talking. The reason I suggested The Peel for dinner was because I've been able to have conversations with friends and catch up without any competing noise from neighboring tables or crowds in the past. Maybe call ahead of time if there's going to be entertainment and if there's an event in town (Motocross was happening this weekend) to gauge the crowd and noise level before you go. The bar is fully stocked and they have a lot of craft cocktails to choose from and the drinks are consistently good. I had the Como la Flor cocktail this night and in the past I've enjoyed the Fera & the Dragonfly cocktails. The appetizers are great to share with your friends and there's lots to choose from. I enjoyed the Brussels sprouts and the mini sliders a lot and my friends really loved the chorizo flatbread. For the entree I got the smash burger and it's pretty filling and rich. You get fries with the order and the fries are perfectly crispy and tasty. For dessert we got the bread pudding, lemon cheesecake and lava cake. The lemon cheesecake was like biting a slice of lemon with some sugar. It's definitely for lemon lovers and I enjoyed it. Bread pudding ice cream was good but the bread pudding was alright and you can't go wrong with lava cake. Again, my only issue with the Peel is the service. It's not very hospitable compared to other restaurants I've visited. There was a bit of a wait from when we were seated to when our server showed up. He took our orders, the food and drinks would show up, and after that we didn't see our server for a while, so we were without drink refills and our table had dirty dishes that just sat there. I glanced around a few times and saw no servers on the floor, a server that was not ours that was far away or would try to flag one down for a refill on our waters but they were quickly leaving the area. We were waiting on the check, but just kept talking instead and then finally, when the check came we were in mid conversation catching up. He stopped by a few minutes later, picked up the check and realized we had not put our cards down to pay it and came back and dropped it off again. We paid using Google-Wallet at their point of sale system and sat back down to finish our conversation and the busser asked if he could remove the dirty dishes on our table and said, in a rude tone, "Yeah because we're closed already." We didn't realize they were closed since there was still a large crowd of people at the bar, and he could have said that in a polite way and said thank you for coming, but he made it known he has to set his jars of jam down on the table for breakfast tomorrow. Honestly, had our server come by much earlier and checked on us and left the bill, we would've left before closing. I don't usually think of a hotel restaurant as a go-to for dinner with friends, but this is the only one in a while that I would recommend because the vibe is unique. I hope the service improves, but other than that it's a solid restaurant.

As I went alone, my reservation was for a bar seat, which was cool as I was able to watch the bartenders make lots of very cool shaken and stirred drinks. This place serves absinthe drinks plus absinthe served the traditional way (cold water on sugar cube into the alcohol). I did not try that, but was tempted. My pineapple old fashioned (Retired Old Man was what Sergio (bartender) told me) was very tasty. The Tamerand Marg with mezcal that I tried next was just okay (should have stuck with the whiskey!). Daughter also ordered Mapo Lamb Dip from the Spring menu, Pork Belly Sesame Noodle, Wonton Noodle Soup, and Cheese Lava Tart Trio. All items were ordered for the first time at this visit except for the porridge which we have had many times before. The peach oolong tea was a disappointment as the flavor came from added syrup and you couldn't really taste the tea. We tried the BBQ Pork Puff Pastry because it had black char siu versus the traditional red char siu. The puff pastry was good and flaky. The Mapo Lamb Dip has creamy whipped tofu that could be spread on the accompanying pita. The Wonton Noodle Soup doesn't have the usual thin noodles one would normally expect. Instead, the noodles are thick and wavy. We counted 6 wontons for 2 each person. There were 2 bunches of baby bok choy. The Pork Belly Sesame Noodles had tender braised red pork and came with mustard greens. The whole prawns were well prepared such that it was easy to remove the shells that covered them. We liked the garlic sauce and the garnish of fresh cilantro. The kitchen tends to have a liberal hand when it comes to chili. We'll need to remember to tell them on our next visit to go lighter with the red chili pepper flakes. Service was seamless by Kim. Water glasses were refilled when half empty. Extra napkins were brought when serving chopsticks were delivered. Kim kept watch on the progress of the meal and we did not need to tell her that we were ready for the Cheese Lava Tarts which would need 8 minutes. Kudos to the owner as this is the only speakeasy in the OC that has a true speakeasy feel entrance. They had a gentleman open the peephole and ask for the entry code. Once we said the code we entered a really cool mine shaft area. The attention to detail was on point and I was impressed! We were then taken upstairs to a private bar where there are four tables of four so a max of 16. This makes sense as to why reservations are hard to come by. The only ding about seating is you are sat with strangers it is not a private table. Luckily we had a fun older couple at our table so it made the conversation more lively. Otherwise don't go here with an expectation of an intimate/ private date night. They also offer a limited food menu but looked very promising. However, we were here for a night cap so just dabbled in drinks. The bartender had a seasonal menu of 4 cocktails he created. He explained the drinks and then had us try each one with a straw. We then placed our order based on what we liked. He did say if we were not a fan he could create us our own personal cocktail as well. The old fashion he created was phenomenal! Overall, a cool little spot in the OC. Do wish they were open later as they do close at 11pm on Friday and Saturday.

The only downside is parking can be a little difficult during lunch time. One of the things I like about this place is when you walk through the door you already have a warm and fuzzy feeling. Almost like you're going into someone else's home for a meal. Lots of wood. Lots of dim lining. The place is very upscale without feeling stuffy. If you are going there for lunch, I highly recommend you get the burger off the menu. I am not kidding. It is one of the best tasting hamburgers I've had in a very long time. They cook it perfectly and their french fries are seasoned to perfection. Wait staff is top-notch, they definitely take care of your table while not hovering over you. One thing of note, they have great iced tea. Bottom line? If you are in town and looking for a good lunch that won't break the bank, I highly recommend public legacy, and make sure you get the burger!

It's a great place to grab a bite before a movie or a nearby Angels or Ducks game. The service was quick and friendly, and the menu is a decent size with a few vegan options. The restaurant offers both indoor seating and a bar area, making it a comfortable spot whether you're grabbing a casual meal or just drinks with friends. Overall, it's a convenient, reliable option in the area.

Both so good. Music was so good also. Fun older jams great vibes. Fun spot in downtown Santa Ana to hang out.

There was a…read morebit of a hiccup when the hostess tried to insist we sit at two high top tables (with two young children) and seemed displeased when we stated that wouldn't work with us. Once this resolved, the meal proceeded to be more pleasant. We started with the tom yum cucumber - a hit with family with its pungent fish sauce and tang. The dish paired nicely with the crunchy peanuts although we did wonder if the overpowering flavors of this made it hard to enjoy some of the other dishes later. The wings were decent - a generous, slightly Asian variation of buffalo wings. The charred beets were the best beet dish we've had - the smokiness paired with the incredible natural sweetness of the beet itself was such a delightful surprise - they almost tasted like a sweet potato. The fresh wasabi was an excellent subtle pairing for this dish, not at all spicy, just added the perfect herbal undertones Fiddleheads and speck was the most disappointing, it felt like something was missing, perhaps it was the low acidity in comparison to the other dishes. The fiddleheads also had an difficult astringency to them and was essentially 95% fiddlehead to 5% speck. The spring onion pancake was also disappointing - ours was soggy which made the soft on soft falvors with the trout schmear not so appetizing. Flavor was good but we wanted more textural contrast. Iberico pork secreto was delicious - an amazing piece of meat. This, however, could benefit again from a more flavorful sauce. We ended up dipping this meat into the tom yum cucumber sauce above (see other wayward comment above). We finished with the red bean cinnabon dessert hich was tasty - not too sweet, although we wished the red bean flavor came through more. It comes beautifully presented in its own mini skillet. Unfortunately, the pieces that naturally stuck to the side in the skillet had a pretty strong metallic aftertaste that was quite unpleasant. Would not order this again unless the plateware was changed.

We arrived around 6pm on a Sunday evening and we were bummed that it was packed full inside. We decided to go have a drink upstairs, and then come back down later to see if it was any less busy. There must have been one big group who left because 30 minutes later, it was completely empty inside. There are a few wood tables outside of the entrance and several two seat tables along the outside of the side of the train, but for a first visit we definitely wanted to be inside. When you come inside at BXCR, there are two long green couches along each side that wrap around to the entrance to maximize available space. There are two steamer trunks on each side that serve as tables. We were surprised that all of the tables had a Yahtzee game on them, and we had a blast playing that while we enjoyed our drinks. If you happen to roll a Yahtzee, they give you a candle as a prize. There is good background music playing that fits the environment. There is some good décor with overhead baggage racks and international clocks on one wall, and gauges on the wall next to the bar. There are some small rectangular windows along the top of both sides, and some curtained windows on the right side which do let a little light in. When the main entrance door is opened before its dark outside, it does let quite a bit of light in and kills the ambience temporarily. I would recommend coming closer to or after sunset to not let any outside sunlight interfere with your experience. The drinks are made at the bar in the rear where there are several seats and a little standing room. It wasn't on the current menu, but I saw on a previous menu they had an Amaretto Sour so I started with that, and it did not disappoint. It was nice and frothy from an egg white and had Angostura bitters on top. My girlfriend started with the Calm Cruise which was great. It's basically a Pina Colada, but with an additional honeydew flavor in the background. For number two, I tried the C-League cocktail. The smokiness of Mezcal has grown on me lately if it is not the primary flavor, and in this drink it is at a nice level somewhere in the middle. The cucumber and cilantro are definitely present, along with a little heat from the ancho verde and a little sweetness from the Luxardo maraschino. This is a excellent easy-drinking tequila cocktail. Her number two was the Aviation which she enjoyed. Vince was our main bartender along with Sarah. They were very friendly and fun to chit-chat with while they were mixing up our drinks. This is definitely a cool place to check out, and we will definitely return.
