How did I stay in this hotel for almost a week and not lnow that this delicious food was downstairs on the first floor??? There I was searching Yelp for dinner options and this place came up and the photos made my mouth water and I could not believe it was downstairs. Yes the food is as delicious as the photos and now every time we come here I will have to eat here. The food and the flavors...chef's kiss. We had calamari and the chips and salsa to start with but I regret not ordering the guacamole after seeing the photos. The calamari was so good and I think I may have gotten too full on those items because by the time my lamb came I couldn't eat it. But the sauce and garbanzo that came with it was so delicious, I added my chips to it and packed it up. The service was friendly and I wish I had known about them sooner because I want to try their french toast and I might just have to go back tomorrow for brunch.

Haven't been to Anepalcos in a few years and decided to give it a try. From what i remembered, the portions were great and the flavor was amazing! Well atleast the flavor is still there . Portions are a lot smaller now and was a little disappointed, especially for the price. I did try the coffee de olla and that was amazing! Service was great, not too many people and during the week so we had amazing service and a lot of suggestions from our server . The restaurant is a lot bigger than the one on Main Street and I'm glad they kept the guava and horchata French toast at this location. But very bright , very roomy and they play all the jams over the speakers, it was a great ambiance for sure! I had the chilaquiles divorciados and i loved that they came in a bowl and had the option for chicken tinga in them as well!!

Our first time here, and we were really impressed from the moment we walked in. The ambiance is warm and inviting we were greeted right away by the host and seated promptly. Our server, Cilicia, truly made the experience exceptional attentive, friendly, and on top of everything from taking our orders to checking in throughout the meal and even carefully packaging our food to go. The food was amazing and definitely lived up to expectations. Everything is made fresh, and you can really taste the difference. The music was on point too and really set the mood. For a restaurant with a 3.9-star rating, it honestly exceeded our expectations. It ended up being a perfect spot to celebrate Mother's Day dinner, and we'll definitely be coming back.

You know when you get a group of people together and you're laughing and talking and having a good time, but as soon as the food comes out you're dead silent because it's so good you can't talk? Yeah. That's my experience of Anepalco. A group of us got together for a team dinner, we enjoyed margs, guacamole, and queso fundido. All great...but as soon as our dishes came out we were so focused on our delicious meals we hardly spoke! It just goes to show you how wonderful the food is. Here's a quick overview: Margs: good, a tiny bit sour but in a good way Guac: fresh and creamy, a tiny bit of spice Queso Fundido: the gold standard of cheese-pull goals Enchiladas Divorciadas: so good, I'm glad they didn't have a prenup. But srsly, I couldn't decide which enchilada I liked better, the lobster was buttery soft and full of flavor and the steak was tender and well seasoned. The side of rice and beans looked unimpressive but don't sleep on it! The white rice was fluffy and perfectly cooked and the refried beans were creamy and full of flavor. Definitely an awesome dish.

The food was decent; however, overpriced and too harsh on my sensitive stomach. I special ordered, but still managed to have a horrible reaction. The service and ambiance were great; yet we were overcharged for a drink. Overall, it was a nice family outing but I will think twice if visiting again.

What a beautiful restaurant with some picture perfect food! We ordered the huevos divorciados, guava french toast, and their classic palomas. Really great flavors all around and our server was incredibly sweet and attentive too.

I came into town for work and was looking for a solid meal close to my hotel. Anepalco looked solid so I decided to give it a try. I got the mole enchiladas because they seemed pretty unique. They were tasty and very filling but I'm not sure I'd order them again. The service was great and the food came out very quickly. The restaurant was very pretty and well kept.

This place got even better than its previous 5 star authentic Mexican food rating. I would their Chilaquiles a 6 stars out of 5 stars if possible. Seriously BEST CHILAQUILES in town. The new pozole trio is also a big hit. The outstanding service was friendly, caring and very helpful. The staff clears dirty plates very fast. The restaurant is warm, bright, vibrant with fun Mexican music in the background. It's a fun place to relax and have an award winning margarita with fresh juices. This is our favorite Mexican restaurant in the area

Our service was excellent. The ambiance gives a lovely Mexican vibe. The food was mixed for me because in my mind I expected it to taste one way than it actually did. We will return to Anepalco and try other food items from the menu. The mango cheesecake and coffee were delicious and I will definitely be ordering it again.

Anepalco's chilaquiles have been one of my favorite dishes for over fifteen years. Over the years, the restaurant has expanded to make upscale Mexican food. They make good mole and cochinita pibil; however, I can't say that my favorite dish is still the same. At one point anepalco's was a cafe; however, their model is now more upscale with dishes costing $20+. It's fine, but it's also not the same place. If coming for breakfast, it's nice to get breakfast and a trio of mimosas. I'll probably come again to have my chilaquiles, but I'll ask for extra salsa macha for that boost of flavor that I remember

Okay this is a unique restaurant. Firstly let's start with all the positives because this place does have a lot of good. Location: Its location is amazing. It's walking distance from The Block. It's located at a hotel but has its own separate entrance. So it doesn't feel like you're going to a hotel restaurant. Food: The food is absolutely amazing. So many flavors and truly amazing ingredients. Design: Okay inside looks so cozy and wonderful. Truly a relaxing restaurant and I loved it. The outside patio was also very nice but was not used when we were there. Chairs: Honestly these things surprised me in a great way. They are big and very comfortable. They creat a very relaxed feel to this restaurant. Now the not so good. Tables: The tables are very small. Especially if you're a group of two. When you receive a plate for your enchiladas, a separate plate for your rice and beans, a bowl for chips, another plate with salsas, another bowl for guacamole, and a tiny space for drinks. It gets extremely tight and hard to manage it all. Also these tables are made with a giant stand in the middle. Meaning you won't be able to comfortably sit in the chairs and be close enough to the table. So you will need to pull a plate into your lap, hold the plate, or heavily lean to ensure you can fit properly. Overall this table was the most annoying part of the entire setup. The outside tables looked to not be the same and looked like normal tables. The tables are also very close to each other so if someone backs their chair up too far, you will not be able to get up from your chair. Personally I think they need to space out the tables more and get new tables that don't restrict your movement as much. Overall, I would go back but I would make sure to avoid those tables if I return.

We stopped by Anepalco for a relaxing lunch before heading to OC for some afternoon activities, and it was such a great choice! We started with the appetizer sampler, which included ceviche, street corn, and avocado guacamole, all fresh and flavorful. The presentation and ambiance were a step above your typical Mexican restaurant, creating a more elevated dining experience. For our main dishes, we had the vegan taco and the steak taco, both served on handmade tortillas made with both yellow corn and purple corn flour. Not only were they visually appealing, but the flavor and texture of the tortillas really stood out and enhanced the dishes. The cocktails were just as impressive, beautifully presented with unique, refreshing flavors and good kick from alcohol. Even the kids' menu was a hit! The grilled ham sandwich and cheese quesadilla were both tasty. We will definitely be coming back to try more of the menu. Anepalco takes traditional Mexican flavors and elevates them with creativity, quality ingredients, and great presentation. The only issue was to find a parking space if you come during a hot season, since they are sharing parking spaces with the hotel guests.

In Orange today, stopped by here for a quick lunch. We sat on the patio. It was a sunny warm day. Perfect for the patio. I ordered the Fish Tacos. They were really good. Probably the best I've had recently. The make the tortillas to order and the fish was lightly fried. It was very moist. The toppings were also perfect. My wife got the Tacos Dorados. They were food, but a little dry. However the salsa and avocado mousse they came in was so tasty! Overall a very good find! The server was very sweet. We will be back.

The space is BEAUTIFUL, both during the day and at night. When we checked in on Friday evening they even had live music, but unfortunately I was feeling a little sick so I skipped it and told myself I'd redeem the experience the next day before heading to Disneyland. And I'm glad I did. In the daytime, the patio area is gorgeous--you can really appreciate the firepit seating and the little lake with koi fish outside. Such a relaxing vibe. We came by around 4PM to pregame before Disney and the bar was pretty busy. Huge shoutout to Arvey, the bartender who took care of us during our visit. Not only was the service exceptional, but he genuinely made some of the best cocktails we've had in a while. Sitting at the bar and watching him make the drinks was honestly part of the experience itself. At first we were trying to customize and tweak our drinks because we usually stay in our comfort zone, but after talking with him and learning more about the ingredients in The Peel's specialty cocktails, we decided to trust the process a little more. We ordered the Dragonfly and Playing With Fire, and both were amazing--beautiful presentation, really balanced flavors, sweet and sour in the best way. We're usually not big foam cocktail people either, but this visit might've changed our minds a little. Also, Playing With Fire came with a fun little presentation moment which made it even better. Honestly, I was really impressed with my experience here. I even came back for another drink at breakfast before checking out of the hotel lol. The dining area also looked beautiful and the food coming out to other tables looked really good too. Definitely looking forward to coming back anytime I'm around the Anaheim area again.

Parking validation is done at the front desk. They have a solid menu of appetizers, entrees and desserts and a very nice craft cocktail menu. It's sectioned off at the south east end of the lobby and feels like a more open space than a standard restaurant or bar and the vibe feels very OC, hipster, upscale. The only downside is the service is not consistent the last two times we've been here. The night we visited, there was a singer playing piano between the bar and restaurant area. I love entertainment at any venue, but the sound was way too loud for indoors and we couldn't hear each other talking. The reason I suggested The Peel for dinner was because I've been able to have conversations with friends and catch up without any competing noise from neighboring tables or crowds in the past. Maybe call ahead of time if there's going to be entertainment and if there's an event in town (Motocross was happening this weekend) to gauge the crowd and noise level before you go. The bar is fully stocked and they have a lot of craft cocktails to choose from and the drinks are consistently good. I had the Como la Flor cocktail this night and in the past I've enjoyed the Fera & the Dragonfly cocktails. The appetizers are great to share with your friends and there's lots to choose from. I enjoyed the Brussels sprouts and the mini sliders a lot and my friends really loved the chorizo flatbread. For the entree I got the smash burger and it's pretty filling and rich. You get fries with the order and the fries are perfectly crispy and tasty. For dessert we got the bread pudding, lemon cheesecake and lava cake. The lemon cheesecake was like biting a slice of lemon with some sugar. It's definitely for lemon lovers and I enjoyed it. Bread pudding ice cream was good but the bread pudding was alright and you can't go wrong with lava cake. Again, my only issue with the Peel is the service. It's not very hospitable compared to other restaurants I've visited. There was a bit of a wait from when we were seated to when our server showed up. He took our orders, the food and drinks would show up, and after that we didn't see our server for a while, so we were without drink refills and our table had dirty dishes that just sat there. I glanced around a few times and saw no servers on the floor, a server that was not ours that was far away or would try to flag one down for a refill on our waters but they were quickly leaving the area. We were waiting on the check, but just kept talking instead and then finally, when the check came we were in mid conversation catching up. He stopped by a few minutes later, picked up the check and realized we had not put our cards down to pay it and came back and dropped it off again. We paid using Google-Wallet at their point of sale system and sat back down to finish our conversation and the busser asked if he could remove the dirty dishes on our table and said, in a rude tone, "Yeah because we're closed already." We didn't realize they were closed since there was still a large crowd of people at the bar, and he could have said that in a polite way and said thank you for coming, but he made it known he has to set his jars of jam down on the table for breakfast tomorrow. Honestly, had our server come by much earlier and checked on us and left the bill, we would've left before closing. I don't usually think of a hotel restaurant as a go-to for dinner with friends, but this is the only one in a while that I would recommend because the vibe is unique. I hope the service improves, but other than that it's a solid restaurant.

I highly recommend booking a reservation to avoid a wait especially at peak meal times. Everything I've tried is beyond delicious. The crab roe with wheat noodles has a deep rich savory seafood flavor. My only complaint is the wheat noodles get stuck together (even when I mix the sauce in right away) since the noodles and sauce are served separate. The chili surf clams are my absolute favorite dish; the sauce that it's served with is sweet, salty, slightly acidic and bright. Such a refreshing appetizer. The service was outstanding--attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable. What makes this place special is that there's no traditional cocktail menu. The bartenders craft drinks throughout the day, and guests are invited to sample them before deciding what to order. It feels personal, interactive, and completely different from the typical bar experience.

When making reservations a $25 deposit is required per person but will be applied to your bill day of visit. The hostess was very kind upon check in and took us to the back where the 46 door is. She provided us a code and explained the time limit along with house rules. We were then told to knock on the door and proceed with the experience. Kudos to the owner as this is the only speakeasy in the OC that has a true speakeasy feel entrance. They had a gentleman open the peephole and ask for the entry code. Once we said the code we entered a really cool mine shaft area. The attention to detail was on point and I was impressed! We were then taken upstairs to a private bar where there are four tables of four so a max of 16. This makes sense as to why reservations are hard to come by. The only ding about seating is you are sat with strangers it is not a private table. Luckily we had a fun older couple at our table so it made the conversation more lively. Otherwise don't go here with an expectation of an intimate/ private date night. They also offer a limited food menu but looked very promising. However, we were here for a night cap so just dabbled in drinks. The bartender had a seasonal menu of 4 cocktails he created. He explained the drinks and then had us try each one with a straw. We then placed our order based on what we liked. He did say if we were not a fan he could create us our own personal cocktail as well. The old fashion he created was phenomenal! Overall, a cool little spot in the OC. Do wish they were open later as they do close at 11pm on Friday and Saturday.

Then I had their take on a Mexican seafood cocktail (I hate the original). Amazing. Culinary engineering at its finest. They do some magic to make a clear sauce that has a hint of acid, tomato and horseradish. Octopus. Thinly sliced shrimp. Nate the chef is a master. Top 5 in Oc. The food is basically comfort food married with brilliant technique and execution. A must visit !!!!!

It's perfect for an intimate date or fun night out. I would describe it has a vinyl bar with great cocktails and a unique menu featuring Asian fusion tapas/sharable bites. Fun fact: Sonder is owned by siblings Diane and Lamson and is located right next to Lamson's first restaurant , Kaizen Shabu! This place sometimes gets booked for private events so I HIGHLY recommend making a reservation as to not wait and guarantee it isn't closed the day you want to come. There is also usually events or a live DJ later in the evenings so check their instagram to be up at date @sonderdtsa. The food here is absolutely delicious and flavorful. It tastes both familiar but also new by putting a unique twist on dishes and flavors you already know. Some standout dishes are the little gem salad, dill milk bread, and charred beets. My only complaint is that the Sichuan fries were not as crispy and I would have liked. They are also quite greasy and heavy. But I understand why it is soggy due to being tossed in the Sichuan oil after frying to achieve the numbing flavor. We also tried the black sesame walnut for dessert and it was to die for; such a toasty flavor that paired perfectly with the creamy ice cream. While there are a few staple menu items, the kitchen seems to often be coming out with different dishes so you're sure to not be tired coming here time and time again.
