I've been to Finney's Crafthouse several times, and it's consistently been a great experience. I stopped by again last weekend with two friends about 45 minutes before closing. Even that close to closing, the atmosphere was relaxed, the restaurant was clean, and the service was just as friendly as always. This time we only ordered a round of cocktails. I can't remember the name of the one I had, but it was definitely spicy just like the menu described, and I really enjoyed it. One thing I have to recommend is the nachos--they are a must-try! They're easily one of my favorite menu items and one of the reasons I keep coming back. They also have a happy hour from 3-5 p.m. My only suggestion would be to extend it until 6 p.m. I work nearby, and with happy hour ending at 5, it's almost impossible to make it after work. I think a later happy hour would be a huge plus for people getting off work in the area. Overall, another great visit. Still one of the better places in the circle for down food. It's my go to place for ordering dinner for the team when we work late. My go to dish is the Moroccan salad with salmon. The food was great! We sat at the bar before the lunch rush came through on Saturday. Bar staff is attentive and quick to put in our orders after we sat down. Plenty of beer selections to choose from, but I actually opted for a dirty soda!! Diet Coke, vanilla cream, coconut and lime ‍ Good selection and variety of options on the menu, we want to come back to just try a mix of appetizers- they had a lot to pick from. I came here a few times already with my wife and this place is really good! Menu is pretty diverse and seems pretty busy the last few times we were here. Great place to come have a couple of drinks as well and watch some local sport games. There are also a few games in the back you can play. We started off with the carnitas nachos and it was pretty good. Very filling and a good amount for the both of us. No complaints there. For our main course, my wife ordered a couscous salad of some sort. She really enjoyed it. I chose the Wagyu Burger and this was expected from this restaurant. Curb parking and there's some lots behind the restaurant and scattered throughout Orange circle. Prices weren't too bad and drinks were good/strong! A5 Wagyu Burger ($17): pretty good, I got a side of truffle fries. I really like their ketchup, it has some extra seasoning to it that gave it a kick. Requested a side of ranch! They have a regular and large size for fries, opted for the large to share with my boyfriend Crispy Mahi Mahi Tacos ($15): my boyfriend enjoyed his meal, wish it came with 3 tacos instead of two though. Comes with a side of salsa and chips Bacon Deviled Eggs ($11): first time trying deviled eggs with some siracha and I can say it was pretty good! The drinks here are horrible!!! I had the raspberry smash and the strawberry Cadillac margarita. Just strong and no flavor whatsoever. The brussel sprouts tasted burnt with sauce on them. Finneys is in the middle of Orange & was popular for dinner on a Thursday. We arrived around 6:30pm and saw a quite a few empty tables but a couple large parties waiting to be seated. Waited 20 minutes for a table of 2 but was served promptly after. The Finney burger was a decent burger. I really appreciated the toasted bun for some texture. Finney's Crafthouse is a spot recommended to me by a friend for good drinks and apps. Came here with that friend on a Tuesday evening. It was pretty busy, probably because of the World Series and the Dodgers were playing. Regardless, we were seated quickly and service was good. We ordered a round of drinks and a couple of apps to share. My friend ordered the Line 39 Cabernet and I ordered the seasonal cocktail which is a Passionfruit Sour. We ordered the Spicy Tuna Crispy Rice and Crispy Brussels to share. Our drinks came out first, followed by the food. The Passionfruit Sour was well-balanced. It wasn't too sweet or sour, and the passionfruit flavor can be tasted. The Spicy Tuna Crispy Rice came with five pieces. It was good. The rice was crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside. The spicy tuna was okay, but didn't stand out. The Crispy Brussels were also good. The tamarind ponzo was tart yet salty. There were only a couple pieces of fig, which were an interesting add to the dish. Overall, giving Finney's Crafthouse a 4/5. There is lots of seating inside and there's a covered outdoor patio with seating. It can get noisy when sitting indoors, which makes it difficult to hear the people you are sitting with. Love the food, but dang the service could really be improved. I think we saw our server to order and then to refill our drinks once. The restaurant was busy... but customer service should still be a thing. On our last visit, I ordered the chicken chipotle bowl. The one thing I wish is that the menu specified that the sauce was... added after the fact (like drizzled on?) versus the chicken being marinated in it. I probably would have gotten it on the side 'cos it was a little overpowering. Everything we've ever ordered has really been delicious - you can't go wrong with your order! Flipping amazing. While I was researching places to do and eat in SLO, this place kept popping up and for good reason. The happy hour is most generous and affordable. We both got two beers on tap, a pepperoni pizza and their loaded nachos. The food and drinks came out pretty fast and we were amazed by the nachos. They were loaded with both flavor and meaty, cheesy goodness. Would def come back again and get the nachos for sure. This location is very friendly to those that love sports as every tv was showing live sports, which I imagine is a huge plus for those that crave delicious American food and sports! With so many options to choose from, I had to go with the classic pepperoni pizza and jalapeno egg burger! When they're good, they're great. Good prices, good food. But lately the service has gotten so bad. The first couple years they opened, my wife and I would come here almost weekly. They were consistently good. Then we saw the service start to slip about 6 months ago. I'm writing this review waiting at another restaurant down the street because we just walked out of Finney's after getting seated. This is the second time we've walked out of Finney's. Both times we just got tired of sitting at our table waiting for a server to come talk to us. They see us. They know we're there. No "hey we're really busy but we'll be right with you." Just no one seems to be responsible for taking our order, and so no one even checks in. It sucks. Finney's was great. Oh and they should get rid of the skeeball. Super annoying. read more

What a great experience! This restaurant has the appearance of a regular sports bar but the food is immaculate. Our server was so sweet and all of our food came out quickly and was hot. We got the chicken and waffles, the crispy brussel sprouts, and the ceasar salad with added blackened shrimp. For drinks we got the old fashioned and a glass of Sauvignon blanc. The chicken and waffles were perfect, probably the best chicken in waffles we've had in so cal coming in on top in comparison to the chicken and waffles at Georgia's and Bruxie. The waffle was crisp and fluffy and the chicken tender was cooked to perfection and seasoned very well. I also enjoyed that the chicken and waffles came already dressed in a light syrup so that you didn't need to constantly be pouring syrup all over the place. The brussel sprouts were such a flavor bomb. The crispy exterior with the tender bite were a great texture combination and the roasted figs, furikake seasoning, and savory flavors were such a delicious pairing. I imaging if we added bacon it would've been even more delightful. The ceasar salad was very tasty and well done. It went very well with their sauv blanc. I did wish there was either more shrimp on the plate or larger shrimp mainly because the seafood to salad ratio was leaning a bit too much into the salad and I found myself having to really save my shrimp for specific bites. Came here to meet with an old friend, and the environment was very cool. It was definitely loud and had an arcade bar feel. It was sometimes hard to hear the other person talk, but other than that it was fun. Our waitress was amazing and she gave us the lowdown on what she thinks is really good and what she didn't like. She answered all of our food questions and she was just a boss. The drinks were amazing. I know I got a margarita. I just don't know which one. It was strong and good. The brussels sprouts were the star of the show to me. I could've eaten six of those small plates. I will say I was a bit disappointed with the poke nachos that they had. The dressing I had on the side, but it wasn't that hot. There's another dressing on top of it but there wasn't enough. It just seemed kind of plain. On a Friday night in June, I found myself in Orange and needing a place for beer and food--and I found Finney's! Not being a local, I didn't know that the place would be packed, but even after classes are done at the local college, there are still enough people needing some time at Finney's that they'll wait on the sidewalk (FYI, Finney's doesn't take reservations!). The ambiance of the place is loud, probably especially on a Friday or Saturday night--people meeting friends, family, or just in the mood for shenanigans. If you're looking for a quiet, romantic place, this one might not be for you. Sitting at the bar, I got excellent service. The bar team was on it and super busy, so I appreciated that they made an effort to make sure I was taken care of. There were a bunch of beers on tap, and that fit my vibe completely. After getting a beverage, I ordered the Jalapeno egg burger, which was really delicious! It's a bit spicy, but the fried egg on top was a nice balance to the spice. Was there on a Sat afternoon. World Cup going on, they were busy, but we only waited a few minutes to be seated. Service was spotty. After placing our order and getting our food, had to ask for utensils and napkins. Also requested water along with our beers, but server forgot that also and had to ask again for water. Wasn't able to finish it all, as it fell apart at the end. Was ok, but just thrown together sloppily. Also, no sides come with it. No fries, or rings etc. Unless you pay for it. All Sandwiches , burgers etc are ala carte... Almost all restaurants, breweries, something comes along with the entree, burger or sandwich. Not here. Dont see myself returning mostly due to the quality of the burger. Soaked with sauce, ruining the taste and being able to eat it all, without falling apart. They came out in about five minutes even though the place was packed. The chicken was tender and cooked perfectly, with jalapeños, crunchy tortilla strips, and just the right mix of sweet and heat. Family friendly brew house in the heart of the Orange Circle. It has a vibe, comfortable seating, flat screen TVs with sports on, fire pits and corn hole in the outside dining area. The food is yummy and the service is friendly. We've been to this location twice now and we'll definitely return. The burgers are great and their onion rings are fantastic--dressed with Parmesan cheese and parsley. Today I got the ahi poke bowl. It's new to their menu.
