Katsu Chicken Sando

Finally got to try shootz at rodeo 39 on a Monday around noon time. I got the spicy chicken katsu sandwich and 2pc of spam brûlée musubi. The spicy chicken katsu sandwich was delicious. The chicken was juicy, tender, tasty sauce and soft bun. The mac salad in the sandwich definitely enhanced the sandwich. The spam brûlée musubi had a unique but delicious flavor and crunch to it. I definitely would come!!

I came here to meet my friend on a Thursday night - it was my first time trying this place and I was pretty excited to check it out. The katsu was actually very, very good - I've never had a kimchi butter dish before so I was pretty impressed by how tasty it was. I found the musubi to be a little too heavy with all the mayo unfortunately. For first-timers, definitely recommend just getting the katsu! Overall, great casual dining experience. The workers are very personable and helpful as well, so shoutout to them!

Shootz of Rodeo 39 hits the spot every time for the last 5 years. I got the simple Kimchi Butter Chicken sandwich today because thus location has it better than other locations! We were lucky that there weren't a lot of customers.

It's been a long time since I visited shootz but the kimchi butter sandwich is still as good as I remember! The Mac salad did taste different than I remember but it was also still great! I'm not too big of a fan of the musubi, but overall good spot to check out for a meal if you're in Rodeo39.

Had this spot saved for a month, so I finally decided to come by and try out a plate lunch. Shootz is located in the back of the Rodeo 39 Public Market, towards outdoor seating. Staff was nice and the tables were clean. I got the kimchi butter spicy chicken katsu. Honestly, I have the worst palate when it comes to handling spicy foods so I'd probably opt for a regular order next time. The overall taste of the chicken katsu was really good. Super flavorful and tender! The plate lunch comes with the chicken on top of rice with a scoop of mac salad. The rice was cooked well but was drenched in sauce. If that's your thing, you'd definitely enjoy it. I always love mac salad, so I was happy with theirs. If you are wanting a nice hearty meal, Shootz should be the next spot you try out.

Shootz inside Rodeo 39 is officially one of my favorite food spots now. The Hawaiian dishes were incredible, everything was packed with flavor and tasted super fresh. The stand itself is really cute, and if it's busy you can easily grab a seat somewhere in the market to enjoy your food. Definitely worth a stop if you're visiting Rodeo 39.

My original order for $10 katsu plate and 2 pc spam musubi

Food has been ok to come back once every other month. Not sure if I will be back since I got charged double. Tried to reach out to the team but they did not reply. Please check your credit card charges before leaving. You might have better chance at getting the refund before you leave facility. Unfortunately for me, I noticed two weeks later.

If I could give 6 stars, I would! Spam musubi brûlée was a delicious appetizer, and the katsu chicken had a very slight kick. It was juicy on the inside and crispy on the outside. Mac salad was good and it's small menu but they mastered the uniqueness of the items. Rodeo 39 is an awesome spot (go third spaces!) and Shootz located all the way to the back right.

I've never had a chicken sandwich like the one at Shootz! Their Spam Musubi is just as delicious. Located inside Rodeo 39, this spot serves up a katsu-fried chicken sandwich stacked with special sauce, macaroni, and green onions on soft Hawaiian bread. I often dream about vacationing in Oahu, but eating here gives me a little taste of the islands. You can choose between regular or spicy -- both are amazing. They also offer combo meals and island-inspired teas and cocktails that complete the vibe. Pro tip: Download their app to save money, skip the line, and get alerts about promos. I scored their katsu chicken sando for just $1 and Spam Musubi for $2 on National Chicken Sandwich Day! @catchmeifyoucaneat (93/100)

Kimchi butter chicken katsu plate was delicious. It is chicken katsu topped with a kimchi butter. The kimchi butter can be spicy or spicier as requested. I liked the crunch of the katsu & the sweet - spicy sauce. The rice topped with furukake & green onions completed the dish. I ordered the plate so it also came with chicken macaroni salad & the Spam Brulee Musubi. Definitely good for 2! Service is friendly & since it was slow, I was offered free refill on the mango lemonade. This is one of the vendors in an upscale food court so ambience is very casual. It also allowed us to choose from other food vendors. Definitely a place to return & try other foods!

tldr; yummy delicious hawaiian Asian inspired food. addicting flavors like kimchi butter + kimchi aioli. surrounded by a bunch of other food spots all in one place so you have options. parking lot is big but gets so packed.. do not go during lunch time xD nice place to go with friends, they do have a bar in the same location as well. SERVICE: 5/5 the workers here are super welcoming and helpful! line gets really long but they do their best to keep it moving. they make my experience great and keep me wanting to come back! FOOD: 5/5 the spam brûlée musubis are usually my go-to and they never miss. so delicious. i love the sweetness of the brown sugar brûléed on top and the combo of the kimchi aioli. i've also tried their kimchi butter katsu chicken as well and i would recommend! my stomach is literally grumbling as i type this. please go try it, you won't regret it!

I didn't know what I was walking into when I got there, but boy was it a great surprise! Located in the back right corner of Rodeo 39 was Shootz. The restaurant is bright and vibrant. The service was extremely friendly! We chose a high top table to sit at and it was actually very comfortable! Here's what we ordered: Mango Green Tea Lemonade - This was actually not too sour and not too sweet, it was a perfect balance. Strawberry Pineapple Lemonade - This was amazing. Another refreshing drink! Spam Brulee Musubi - Okay, I never thought caramelizing sugar onto a musubi would work. Boy was I proven very wrong. It was amazing! Then you get that kimchi butter. *chef's kiss* Katsu Chicken Sando - Basting the chicken in kimchi butter after it's been perfectly fried, then adding a mac salad on top. It doesn't seem like it would be much, but boy was it bursting with flavor! Shrimp and Katsu Mix Plate - Oh....oh was this great. The shrimp were large and perfectly fried, and the katsu was also a great portion. Perfect crisp, and then you get rice and mac salad. The kimchi butter enhances the dish even further! If you want Hawaiian food, but different (in a good way of course), you can't go wrong here! Give it a go!

She took the time to really engage with us, making sure we felt taken care of without ever seeming rushed or distracted. What impressed us most is how attentive she is--she listened carefully and offered thoughtful recommendations based on what we might enjoy. If you're unsure what to order, she's the perfect person to guide you. Her suggestions were spot-on and made the whole dining experience even better. Beyond her professionalism, Casie has a wonderful personality that shines through in every interaction. She brings such positive energy to the environment--it's clear she enjoys what she does, and it reflects in how she treats people. On top of that, her beautiful complexion and confident presence add to her overall charm, making her truly memorable. It's rare to come across someone who combines efficiency, friendliness, and genuine care so effortlessly. Casie goes above and beyond to make sure every guest leaves satisfied, and that level of service deserves recognition. Because of her, we'll definitely be returning to Matiki BBQ and recommending it to others.

One woman in particular (presumably a manager or long-time employee) was shockingly, aggressively rude in a way that's hard to overstate. She barked orders and accusations at customers with zero patience, yelling over trivial things that no reasonable person could possibly know or control. Her tone was dripping with contempt, her attitude unapologetically hostile, and her behavior screamed ignorance wrapped in unearned entitlement. Zero warmth, zero professionalism--just pure, unfiltered disdain for the very people paying her bills. No one should have to endure being treated like an inconvenience or an idiot just to eat decent barbecue. The food might be worth a try if you're willing to stomach verbal abuse, but for most of us, it's not. Her complete lack of basic decency and customer service skills makes this place actively unpleasant. I won't be back, and I can't in good conscience recommend it to anyone who values being treated like a human being. One star only because the ribs themselves don't deserve zero--but she absolutely does.
