    No Guava Pie

The food was good but they forgot to add my Guava Pie. This was a mobile order I placed after opening hours at 11pm so I'm disappointed in that.

Ono is a no-frills Hawaiian BBQ chain that just hits the spot. I went for a Hawaiian beef and bbq chicken combo plate, with flavorful chicken thighs and tons of food. I appreciated swapping out for fresh mix salad rather than Mac salad, and I thought the light ginger dressing was perfect against all the meat. Easy, flavorful, and quick!

We love Ono!!!! We got it by Door Dash this time and it was delicious. The beef and chicken combo was cooked just right to be chewy and juicy with the sauces included with the meal. Then, the rice and macaroni salad was the perfect compliment to the tasty protein. The spam Musubi is a must whenever we order from here with its awesome salty flavor and thickness. Great meal.

I've had this place couple times now, both times being consistently the same. Decent size portions but they are lacking in the side and vegetables department. The chicken and beef was cooked great! Great flavors there, had the chicken beef combo, another time tried the island fire chicken. The island fire chicken was real good. Just a few slices of cabbage and two pieces of broccoli for veggies and the rice tasted like it was cooked yesterday or the day before. Customer service was good and friendly and usually always people there eating. Would like to see more veggies and better portions would go a long way for the price you pay.

    Aloha Plate - Chicken Katsu - take-out

There are very few Hawaiian food options in Buena Park, and Ono Hawaiian is the local spot for some ono eats without driving too far. The last couple of times we bought food from here, we used online ordering for pick-up. The experience with online ordering is easy. Our order was prepared and ready near the time given, and pick-up was tolerable. The restaurant was busy each time, so there was some wait, even for early dinner pick-up time. The food was good, and the meals were cooked perfectly. The Chicken Katsu and Crispy Shrimp had a crispy outer with tender meat inside. The macaroni salad is mayo-heavy and creamy and pairs well with the fried entrées. If you like creamy mac salad, you may like Ono's version. The plate portions are also generous. The katsu sauce wasn't added to our take-out a couple of times, so it was a little disappointing and kept getting missed. Make sure you're not missing any sauces when you pick up. The staff manages to try to provide quality service, but I can understand when it gets crazy during peak dining hours. Overall, I've had good service, and the food was delicious. I don't dine in much here, but the space is kept fairly clean and can have a relaxing vibe when the crowds don't build up. We also used coupons that were only redeemable through online ordering. The company's website, newsletter, and social accounts offer coupon codes and deals on occasion.

    Island Fire Chicken Plate Lunch

After a bad experience I had last year at Ono Hawaiian BBQ, I was hesitant to have their food again. I chose to go to a different location and had better food and better customer service than I had at the previous location. The staff was friendly and surprisingly quick even though there was many customers. I ordered the Island Fire Chicken plate lunch, an order of the BBQ Beef Musubi, and an extra side of Macaroni Salad. The Island Fire Chicken has always been one of my go to items at Ono. This time around it was a very salty, and I did not end up finishing it. I normally don't have a problem with this dish so I'm not sure what went wrong. The BBQ Beef Musubi was good. The beef was seasoned well and it was juicy. In the photos they advertise that it's one large piece of beef placed over the rice, but I got Musubi with chopped up pieces of beef over rice. It all fell out as soon as I took a bite, but it's not a problem if you don't mind picking it up with a fork or your fingers. It was messy for me because I was eating these while walking. I feel like if it's wrapped well enough, the Musubi would be a good snack for on the go. The Macaroni Salad was decent. I've had better at other Hawaiian barbecue restaurants. It wasn't seasoned enough this time, but I just added salt and it was fine. I only every really eat here when a family member or friend is picking what we have for lunch. I think Ono Hawaiian Barbecue is great for those looking to try hawaiian style barbecue for the first time, but I prefer Matiki Island BBQ (they have dole whip) and Ai Pono Cafe now.

Went to this other branch as it was close to our gym another clean branch I see the staff cleaning tables when we walked in. I ordered the usual Chicken BBQ and my wife ordered the BBQ Beef. Preparation of our order was fast but noticed my wife's BBQ Beef was not as generously given with a lot more beef compared to the Downey Location. Also my BBQ Chicken was also the same lesser chicken to what we had from the Downey location. I guess the branches are not the same?

I think this was a good value for the price lots of proteins and stuffed food box ordered the seafood mix 3/5 and the kalbi bbq mix 4/5 the fried shrimp was very thin mostly batter the fish was good and light on flavor the chicken was good also for the ribs, it was good the beef was a bit dry but still ok service was ok, not too long of a wait ambiance normal vibes great quick food and quantity

The meal starts off with lighter dishes like porridge, salad, and water kimchi to warm up your stomach. After that, a variety of starters come out including spicy beef tartare, pan-fried sliced beef, glass noodles, and a beautiful platter of nine delicacies. Everything was thoughtfully presented and flavorful. The highlight of the meal was definitely the assorted premium wagyu cuts, which are grilled to perfection over charcoal. The meat was incredibly tender, rich, and packed with flavor. Pairing it with naengmyun and soybean paste soup made the whole experience even better. What surprised me most was how many courses kept coming out throughout the meal. Even after the wagyu, they brought fried dishes, seasonal items, tricolor pancake, and dessert to finish everything off. Overall, the course felt very complete and satisfying, and the quality of the ingredients really stood out. If you're looking for a more elevated Korean BBQ experience in OC, this is definitely a spot worth checking out.

You can get food every 1.5 hours while in the park, which is enough to share between 2 people if you're good about getting meals on time. Chicken (8/10) - Comes with Cornbread + 1 side (we got mac and cheese) - Regarding the chicken itself...YUM! Juicy, soft, and HUGE! It's not just a single thigh, but literally half a chicken. It's a huge portion size for 1 person, meaning easily sharable between 2 people. Roasted until the outside is relatively crispy while maintaining a juicy interior - Cornbread was good, nothing special yet nothing bad about it - Mac and Cheese was slightly on the drier side, but still paired super well with the chicken Overall, great option and great portion sizes at the Boardwalk BBQ! Surprisingly, the mall wasn't very crowded so we decided to try M Korean BBQ since it had been a while since we had Korean BBQ. It only took about 10 minutes to be seated and the salad, banchan, and tea were brought out very quickly. We also split a pitcher of Blue Moon since they didn't have any pitchers of Korean beer which was rather disappointing. Apparently you can only order K beer by the bottle. We went with the Signature Combo option which worked out well with more than enough BBQ to satisfy the 4 of us. The servers come to your table to not only bring you your food but also to cut the meat into individual portions and cook it for you. They did a wonderful job of switching out the grills so you never have to worry about getting the blackened residue on your meat. The kim chee was very fresh and well seasoned. The green salad was also excellent. The quality of the meat was extremely good for the price they charge. The restaurant also has a no tip policy but they do add a 10% service charge for cooking at the table which is quite reasonable. My first visit was very impressive and I look forward to returning again in the near future when I feel the need to partake of another KBBQ meal.

There are a good amount of picnic tables behind the little shack of a restaurant and attached to that back wall is a handwashing station. What we ordered. All came with one side for the food pass. 1) spicy sausage - I chose "roasted veggies". These were NOT roasted. More like baked to sogginess, unseasoned and bland. The bread was too thick for the sausage in my opinion. I took the sausage out and decided to just eat it with the veggies. The sausage wasn't bad. It's "spicy" but it's mild...I wouldn't trust my leveling of the heat cause I like mine hot. 2) 1/4 chicken - one of the kids chose corn on the cob and the other a baked potato. When I tried it, the meat was not only dry but hard. For sure, this option is a no no for us ever again. He was just starving and going to town and was almost finished by the time I realized the issue. Would I come back? Eh. Not sure. If the kids want to redeem for the chicken, yes, I guess we could go back. Skipping the steak sandwich though.
