Fireman's Brigade Barbecue (Knott's Berry Farm) is slow, expensive, and sells cheap tasting meat. The taste of its dry, frugal food is still lingering on my tongue. I ordered the BBQ Steak Sandwich ($18.99), and I ended up tossing it partially eaten into the trashcan. I arrived at Fireman's Brigade Barbecue (Knott's Berry Farm) on Saturday (around 3PM). The line was extremely long and slow. It took 19 minutes to reach the counter. The outer area lacks shade, so searing scathing sun lovingly burns your face as you wait. Staff is monotone and efficient. They moved robotically while poorly explaining the ordering process. They call people up by numbers, yet several customers around me had to ask repeatedly where those numbers were on their receipt. The BBQ Steak Sandwich ($18.99) arrived very quickly. It took three minutes and six seconds. This expensive sandwich had dry, thin, and soft meat. It tastes like cheap cuts that were "tenderized heavily" so it could be more edible. Its dolloped barbecue sauce came sweet, and its bread was spongey and squishy. It tasted like a poor imitation of a drier McDonalds "McRib." The ambiance was sh*t. Literally. The smell of horse manure and animal droppings lingered in the background. The tables had bad shade, so most tables were cooking in the sun. Also, it felt dirty like a barn. (Quick Note: Dining Plan no longer includes the Turkey Leg.) Overall, I had a nauseating experience at Fireman's Brigade Barbecue (Knott's Berry Farm). All I found was wasted time, bad food, and a sunburn. 1 out of 5
Oh no. What can I say? I'm still reeeeeaaaallly disappointed I chose to eat here. In all my life of coming to Knott's, I had never eaten food from, Fireman's Brigade. I still have core memories from the smell of the BBQ and how packed it used to get. A couple people in our party decided to eat there, so we just followed and I didn't think anything of it. I don't know why I didn't check the reviews. It's not like me to skip yelp. In case you're wondering, they are an option for food pass holders. There are a good amount of picnic tables behind the little shack of a restaurant and attached to that back wall is a handwashing station. What we ordered. All came with one side for the food pass. 1) spicy sausage - I chose "roasted veggies". These were NOT roasted. More like baked to sogginess, unseasoned and bland. The bread was too thick for the sausage in my opinion. I took the sausage out and decided to just eat it with the veggies. The sausage wasn't bad. It's "spicy" but it's mild...I wouldn't trust my leveling of the heat cause I like mine hot. 2) 1/4 chicken - one of the kids chose corn on the cob and the other a baked potato. They were fine and satisfied with this. They said the chicken was good and wasn't dry at all. 3) steak sandwich - ordered with corn on the cob. One of the kids said they thought it was a little dry. When I tried it, the meat was not only dry but hard. For sure, this option is a no no for us ever again. He was just starving and going to town and was almost finished by the time I realized the issue. Would I come back? Eh. Not sure. If the kids want to redeem for the chicken, yes, I guess we could go back. Skipping the steak sandwich though.
Stopped by on Saturday, 05/17/25 for the Boysenberry Festival with my boyfriend! We also bought the $34.99 all-day dining pass, which was TOTALLY WORTH IT! Every 90 minutes, you get a meal from the list of places that are part of the plan. You would have to time yourself FYI! I would recommend only getting one pass and you can share your meal with another person. We stopped by this place 2x. First time, we ordered: - 1 smoked sausage basket with corn on the cob ($12.97 value for the plan, $17.50 without the plan) Second time, we ordered: - 1 steak sandwich with baked potato (they ran out of corn towards the end of the day, bummer!) ($12.97 value for the plan, $19 without the plan) The line was very long however worth it, especially for my favorite - CORN!
We wanted to grab dinner in Ghost Town (soooo pretty at Christmas), and ended up here. We had eaten here before, but it's been a long time. I feel like we have rediscovered a great place. There are quite a few choices, including smoked turkey leg, barbecue chicken, pulled pork, spicy sausage, and hot dogs. The good thing about this place is that you can choose your sides. Other hot dog places just give you fries, but here you can choose cole slaw ( it's good!), baked potato, corn on the cob, Texas toast, or grilled veggie skewer. We split the pulled pork sandwich and spicy sausage, and both were really good. For sides, we chose veggie skewer, corn on the cob, cole slaw, and baked potato. They gave us a lot of butter and sour cream. We also got two pieces of Texas toast, thick slices of yummy grilled bread topped with butter and garlic. This may be our new favorite place to eat at Knott's Berry Farm, both for the food and people watching.
Not a bad choice, if you are stuck at Knott's for dinner. Good news is they have quick service with an open grill they serve you off of. The dark meat on the bbq chicken is good, breast was pretty dry and needed to be drenched in the BBQ sauce, which was pretty mids. They should roast the corn instead of boil it. Skip the slaw unless you want plain cabbage and carrots. The garlic bread is basically just a piece of toast. Overall I love the camp site vibe that they have at night and this was probably the best choice for dinner in the park, which is why I almost gave 4 stars but I would probably just leave the park to eat dinner next time instead of come back here because it was bland and expensive.
The decor has a cowboy theme. The wait and seating are all outdoor. It can be very busy at times. We had the all day dining plan. This is accepted here but you can only choose Chicken, hot dog or pulled pork sandwich. The prices are high for what you get. We got a hot dog with Mac n cheese because the teen wanted it. You can't really mess that up. My hubby got the pulled pork sandwich with baked potato. The sandwich was small for the price. The potato wasn't fully cooked. I think I'll stick with the other dining places in the park.
I have the meal pass and I have chosen this spot a couple times. Although I feel like what we receive is overpriced, it still fills me up and my kids like the garlic toast. Today I had the 1/4 bbq chicken and a baked potato. I enjoyed it with some bbq sauce n butter. My son had a hotdog and garlic toast. Service is pretty quick and friendly and one time my little one dropped his toast on the floor and they replaced with another n didn't charge us. There's a bunch of tables and benches to sit at to enjoy your meal. My son said the turkey leg tasted plasticy, and I tried it and it is a but inedible.
This was the first eatery we visited at Knott's. We got there around 12:30pm on a Saturday and the line wasn't that long. I did get a dining pass as with the majority of theme/amusement parks, prices can get pretty expensive. Service was good and we got our food relatively fast for them grilling everything fresh. The good 1. Pulled Pork Sandwich - This actually had great flavor and was moist. The bun was alright but the star was the pulled pork. They gave a decent amount and we finished this quickly! I would get this again. The bad 1. Garlic Cheese Toast - I don't know where the cheese comes in. I tasted a little bit of garlic flavor on the toast but I couldn't taste or see any cheese. For $5 dollars, I would pick another side.
The food here was excellent!! Not really the first cashier who was a bit rude. This is for the amazing food, and the people who handed it to me! Such a nice man!! It was delicious and amazing and when I come back, I am coming here!! The corn was soooo fresh!!! Lovely across from the actors who play the bank managers...lunch and a show!!

Dining pass holders don't get the additional side and are limited to one per entree* think this food staple comes in second at the many dining options at Knotts Berry Farm -- Second from the boardwalk barbecue which takes first place. Portion sizes here are good to great. They can easily feed a hungry individual guest, or be more than what you bargained for if you have a small stomach. Either way, it is ideal in value because of the dining plan. Otherwise, many would find this location to be too pricy, but I feel the portions make up for it. Long wait times are true. The food isn't cooked before hand and that adds to the freshness. It is grilled in front of your face after you order. The best deal from this location seems to be a combo plate. Corn on the cob as a side is the way to go. Hopefully I can post menu photos as they have increased their prices.
I was pleasantly surprised with this turkey leg. I didn't expect it to be so tender! I took one bite and it was so flavorful. This place was a bit hard to find for me though but I found it near a bunch of picnic tables. The service was fast too. Order on one side, pick up on the other. The kids ended up devouring this turkey leg so I am glad I got my bite.

Is this place amazing? No. But it's quick and simple. There usually isn't a long line compared to other spots inside the park. I shared the Spicy Sausage on a Bun with my husband. Each plate comes with 2 sides so we got corn on the cob and a baked potato. The sausage actually had a bit of a kick and was flavorful. The corn was good. The baked potato was literally just a plain baked potato. Luckily they had salt, butter, and sour cream you could grab on the side. That saved it a bit. read more
Tried the spicy sausage for the first time and the corn on the cob. The spicy sausage was actually not bad. The outside did taste a little burnt, but I did like that it actually was spicy! I do wish the corn on the cob side had tajin. That would be a nice addition to their condiments. I have the meal plan and this was a good meal as it's filling and a great value. The line wasn't crazy long yesterday, Sunday early evening, but seating is always tricky here. It's always busy but we got lucky to find a table. It's cool cause I guess a band comes out and plays for the guests while you're eating. We were already done. read more

Food was good, but for a barbecue place I would really like for all the food to be more grilled. They cook everything then just put it in warming pans, unless you ask for extra grilled you'll just be getting warmed up food. read more

Our usual go-to spot at Knott's is the Boardwalk BBQ which has delicious tri-tip and sides, but we decided to change it up a little so we went to Fireman's Brigade Barbecue. We feel that we get more 'bang for our buck' from our meal plan at both places. The rib meal at the Fireman's Brigade was about $22 which most people might think is a bit spendy, but with the meal plan, it doesn't seem too bad. My hubby and I split the 2 rib meal and had the baked potato as our side. Since we have the meal plan, our meal did not come with the garlic bread (*I'm not sure why - ??), but that was ok. The baked potato was a perfect side dish to have with our ribs. We really enjoyed the meal - the ribs were tasty, I just felt like it could use a little more sauce - and the baked potato was baked perfectly! And they had butter and sour cream available. The Fireman's Brigade also has corn on the cob, which looked really good. And of course, we got the boysenberry punch to have with our meal. *If I had to choose between the Fireman's Brigade and Boardwalk BBQ, I'd go with Boardwalk BBQ. read more

Im writing this as a Knott's Season Passholder with Unlimited Food pass through 2024. This USED TO be the place to go to, but i noticed them start to progressively go down in both quantity and quality, but they upcharged the price! They no longer have ribs or steak sandwich on the unlimited food plan. It's only 1/4 chicken, pulled pork sandwich, sausage sandwich, and turkey leg . There is a $5 upcharge for the rib. Not worth it at all. There are plenty of ourdoor picnic style tables to enjoy your meal Here are some reasons why I gave this such a low review: -The portion is so small now. Like the chicken is supposed to be 1/4 it barely looks like 1 piece. -they dont appear to bbq anything LOL the chicken is never charred, it's literally pale and soggy with bbq sauce *maybe* slathered on top. It's basically a rotisserie chicken now -they dont plate to go and waste SO MANY PLATES -Everything is so dirty in and around the wait and lines -lines arent long anymore, they used to be but since they modified the menu it's ironically *ghost town* here read more

Generous portion is tender pork spareribs and Smokey but not salty turkey leg. Baked potato came with enough butter and sour cream. Coleslaw was good and light. We would pass on the toast next time. Line was about twenty people long but went quickly with three cashiers. Plenty of shaded picnic tables. read more
One of my favorite places to eat lunch or dinner. If you have an Unlimited Food Pass with Knott's Season Pass, this is a great deal. You can eat the first meal and after four hours, you can eat again or take it home. Each dish has a great portion, flavor, smokiness, etc. The line goes really quick and the clerk is diligent on getting the customers' need. One of the drawbacks is that they are so popular that some of the items are always out of stock early so you probably want to stay in the line when they open or even before. They will serve the food on a plate and refuse to pack it for to-go. Instead, they will either hand you an aluminum foil or a to-go container so you pack it, which I never understood. They don't have a vinyl bag to provide so don't even bother to ask. There are plenty of picnic tables and benches/chairs around the restaurant so you won't have a problem finding a seat. Near the picnic area, you can find condiment station and a sink where you can wash your hands, which is convenient. There is also a scheduled band that plays live music that is entertaining and relaxing. read more

So this the second time I have had food from this spot in the park. If I have a craving for bbq, I'll come here. Their flank steak sandwich is pretty good but I think I'll ask for more sauce and to grill up the bread next time. My son enjoyed the smoked sausage on bun. I tried a bite of it and it has the *snap* I was looking for and it was juicy. The turkey leg, my daughter didn't care for. It looked like it was under cooked but it wasn't. Next time I'll get her the rotisserie chicken. Anyway, if you wonder about this place, it's a must. But get here when they open at 11a because the line can be 45min wait during the day. Also, if you have an annual food pass, this is part of the food plan. read more

I would stick with the chicken and pork rib combo. I had the flank steak sandwich and it was overly salty. It was good but way too much salt. TIP: Annual passes have discounts.. use them Add a meal pass for the best value. A good meal can cost up to $20 or more and the Season Meal Pass is $155. All day dining pass is $31.99 Drink pass is $16.99 a day or $34.99 for season pass read more
Once again, purchased a dining plan for $33, you can eat all day long. You can get your meal every 90 mins. This is our third and fourth meal. Lol!!! The BBQ Ribs doesn't look appetizing, but it tasted really good. The Turkey Legs are must have, it never go wrong, tasted like a smoked ham. We are so full and we are done for the day. Overall, we paid $33 for four meals and if you pay in full price for each of the meals approximately cost $16.50. The Staff are friendly and attentive. They helped us fill up our bottles with ice and water without charging. We are very appreciative and wanted to say Thank you. Highly recommend this place. :) Outdoor seating only. read more

Dining Plan participant- one entree and one side entrees: chicken pork ribs flank steak sandwich turkey leg smoked sausage jumbo all beef hotdog (*chicken/rib baskets incl garlic toast & 1 addtl side- if it's a regular purchase) sides: garlic cheese toast coleslaw corn baked potato chips Drinks: $4.50-$11.00 We've been viewing videos of the food offerings at Knotts (shoutout to YouTube's Adventures of an Avg Dad), and this place looked really good. And we had to try it on our first night. And YES, it was a good night for dinner. The boy got 1/2 chicken and garlic cheese toast (this was ok, nothing special), I got the flank steak sandwich & coleslaw (tart, hubby said pickle juice was used), hubby got the turkey leg & corn. Mmm. Ours was really good, I split mine with our son. Hubby said his was good but next time he's getting the fkank steak sandwich. I didn't want something greasy. Lots of seating outside (flies- you gotta swipe 'em away- constantly): a large amount of picnic tables, napkins and hand-washing station to the side and back of the restaurant. We are definitely eating here again. We are so glad we got the meal plan. read more

Fireman's Brigade Barbecue might be the best eatery inside Knott's Berry Farm. Everyone knows that amusement parks often just serve hot dogs, cheap frozen pizza, cheap burgers, cheap chicken fingers, and french fries. This eatery actually has better food that stands on its own. Keep in mind that the retail cost is expensive; however, they accept the meal plan. So, then it is a better deal. I would not recommend eating anywhere in the park unless you have the meal plan. The other disadvantage of this place is that the line can get really long. The workers really hustle, but since it is just a small building, and they accept the meal plan, you can easily have a 45 minute wait. But they often offer entertainment, and the time I went was a banjo-guitar duo. They were really top notch. I have to say that this type of entertainment is a rare find. read more
Let's start off with the food, the steak sandwich approximately 19 bucks, the meat was good the bread was heavy and cold. My daughter loved it. I thought it was very good. The ribs were excellent. Customer service, we have season passes including food, I asked for the most expensive meal, she Told me it was the nine dollar meal. Either she's really unexperienced or didn't care. When my daughter didn't want her corn, she went up to The service counter, and asked for a different side. And The request fell on deaf ears. So putting it all together it gets a three. It could've been a five, and it could've been a one. The ambience which is Knotts berry farm, was obviously wonderful. But I don't know who would pay 18 or $19 outside of the park for what we got. Located at Calico Ghost Town inside of Knott's Berry Farm. It's right in front of the Birdcage Theater. You can't miss it cuz when you're in the area, you can smell that bbq aroma in the air. I ordered the bbq flank steak sandwich. The garlic bread and corn were very flavorful, but my sandwich wasn't as good. It needed extra bbq sauce or more flavor to it. The meat was too chewy too. My friend got the ribs (didn't get to take a picture of it before they devoured it) and said it was very good. Overall, I'll still give this place 4 stars cuz I'm sure their other bbq dishes are better. Plenty of seating around the restaurant area. Line can be really long, it took us about 30 mins to order cuz it was very crowded inside the park that day. This is a good option if you can't get any seats inside Ghost Town Grille (another popular bbq restaurant inside Knott's Berry Farm). read more

We tried this place out; the line was long so I thought it would be worth it. Honestly over an hour in line, and our food was cold, blan and flavorless. Such a disapointment. No sauce for our ribs on top of it all. Outside seating area is decent bit I feel it needs to be cleaned up more often. Tables were dirty, sticky and uncomfortable. read more
The food is delicious. We have the all-season dining pass so we get one entree plus one side. My favorite is the pulled pork sandwich with barbecue chips. My wife likes to get the chicken with veggie skewer. The dining passes definitely worth it read more
