Single Meal Plan Participant Easily in one of my top five restaurants here at Knotts Berry Farm. I don't think that we've ever had a bad meal here. Generous portions. Entree, side- mac & cheese- this is excellent, and corn muffin- this is excellent too. Both of the loves got the pulled pork sandwich, hubby got the mashed potatoes, the boy got the mac & cheese. SEASONAL MENU ITEM! I tried the Loaded Turkey Sandwich at Boardwalk BBQ and it was like Thanksgiving all wrapped in a nice little bun! This spot is like most of the places at Knotts, you walk up to the server, and tell them what you want, then go down the assembly line, cafeteria style! The sandwich was quite a popular menu item, because when I arrived to the front, they had me wait to the side as they prepared more ingredients for it. The turkey was nice and moist, and the gravy was yummy! The cranberry sauce added a nice touch and it all came together really well. The bread could've been yummier, like a garlic roll or a sweet Hawaiian bread maybe, but overall it was a good theme park festive sandwich! I decided to stop by Boardwalk BBQ after hearing good things about the place, and because my friend really enjoys it. I ordered the 1/2 rotisserie chicken with mac & cheese, which came with cornbread. I shared the meal with my friend since we were trying a few other things from different spots, but I'll focus on this dish. The mac & cheese was surprisingly good; it was not as creamy as I'd hoped and a little on the bland side, but still pretty decent. They do offer condiments and extra seasoning to adjust the flavor to your liking. The chicken had some hits and misses. The breast meat was on the dry side, but a little BBQ sauce fixed that. The leg meat, though, was juicy and flavorful. The cornbread was just okay, but my friend loved it, so it worked out. One thing I like to note is that the food wasn't piping hot, it was really more lukewarm or room temperature. Also, if you decide to eat there, be aware that seating is limited. There are some outdoor tables available, but if the park is busy, you might have a hard time finding a spot. The food came lukewarm, but its flavors and textures were satisfying. The Pulled Pork is very tender (almost pre-crushed), sweet, & savory. The Pulled Pork almost felt juicy as it broke away easily in my mouth. The Mashed Potatoes are shockingly well-seasoned. Its buttery, salty, and creamy. Pretty solid spot to get BBQ at the park. They have 2 lines inside, one is cafeteria style and there's an express lane for drinks/drink refills only. They have a Coca Cola Freestyle machine here too. There's also outdoors covered seating with tables right outside. For sauces they have their Boysenberry BBQ sauce (ran out when I was there) and all of the other common sauces. We got the seasonal Rougarou dish for the Halloween season which is a smoky gator sausage in a hotdog bun with the tomatoes, grilled onions, and jalapenos, Creole mustard and BBQ sauce on top, a side of corn bread (a bit dry but went fine with your choice of side), and for the choice of side I got their mac n cheese which was solid. I had hopes for this place because it's rated better than most of the other food inside Knott's, but omg it was the worst. Knott's: Please educate and train your employees about customer service and food allergies! After asking to see their allergy menu, they looked dumbfounded and eventually brought out an outdated piece of paper with only half of them items that they actually serve. No one had any knowledge of their ingredients otherwise (this is a running theme throughout Knott's, not just this restaurant), so I played it safe and got the rotisserie chicken and dirty rice. Since I can't eat dairy, I asked if I could have some of the carrots instead of the cornbread and they were so unprofessionally unapologetic and said no. Seriously, they could've pretended to care and just put two pieces of dry old carrots that were just sitting around anyway, but no. Whatever, I'm starving so I move on. Well turns out the chicken was so freaking dry that I literally couldn't eat it, and the rice was SO undercooked and DRY AND HARD that I couldn't eat that either. Are you kidding me? I should've asked for a refund because I couldn't eat a single item on the plate, but seeing how bad the service was, I gave up and ended up spending even more money at Panda Express. The line goes by pretty quick since it's buffet style, you pick your items while the staff serves them on the plate for you. Once you have your food check out is at the end. You have condiments outside in the dining area. I do recommend adding some more parasoles on sunny days to help with shade. My go to is the 3 cheese Mac n cheese bowl with pulled pork. I like the veggie side since it's cooked & seasoned just right. The veggie variety is also nice. With my AAA membership, I bought one of those deals that comes with parking, entrance to KBF, and a meal plan. I originally wanted to go to Mrs. Knott's Chicken Dinner Restaurant, but that is technically not "inside" the park, so the meal plan was invalid there. I got the boysenberry chicken wings, roasted veggies and cornbread with a fountain drink. There were only 5 wings. They slipped in a potato wedge which may have looked like a wing, but... lol. The roasted veggies were hard and chewy. Cornbread was good. Half of the drinks that were available were watered down. My brother said the half chicken was good as did my youngest daughter. My oldest daughter wasn't crazy about her pulled pork. I tried it. I could see why... bless their hearts. While they do (for the most part) pile on the food for adult meals, it's just not juicy, fresh, or all that flavorful. None of it. My brother and I checked out their beer selection and rolled our eyes. Lol. We waited at peak lunch time for about half an hour. It's a cafeteria style ordering system. Then good luck finding an empty table in the reasonably large courtyard outside. A very nice young lady and her friends waved me over and offered their table to us. Excellent Quick Service! We arrived 30 mins after they opened and there was no line. Food was fresh and service was streamlined. When you enter there are two directions you can take. We decided to give Boardwalk BBQ a few tries to see how the food was after seeing so many recommendations from persons in social media groups and online video sites. Honestly, I'd have to give their food a 3/5 star rating. The extra star is more so the friendly customer service from all of their staff. Your seasonal meal plan includes one entree, one side, and a piece of cornbread. You can add on additional sides or entrees for an additional fee, and they do serve alcohol at the end of the counter. You pay for your food and add ons or scan your pass in the next part of the building, though, if you're not purchasing alcohol. The best item to us is their rotisserie chicken. It was very moist, juicy, and flavorful. We didn't realize that the BBQ Pulled Pork sandwich was Carolina Style, and was loaded with mustard. We were expecting a boysenberry flavored BBQ sauce, but left with a tangy, salty sandwich. The Teriyaki Flank Steak was overly salty and drenched in too much sauce, and was very unbearable to eat. The meatballs were pretty good, definitely not dry on the inside, and the perfect amount of sauce on the outside. The Boysenberry BBQ wings weren't as good as during the Boysenberry festival. They were very soggy and tasted very slimy, unlike the crispiness we were expecting from a few months back. My wife was not a big fan of their mac and cheese, although i found them to be pretty decent. We like to get the potato wedges, as our little one likes to chew on them. The beans were pretty flavorful as well. The cornbread, though can be very hit and miss. When they're made right, the bread breaks down very well and compliments the meal, but if they don't make it moist enough, it's like eating sand. I LOVE this restaurant joint SOOO MUCH!! It is the best food joint out of all the other food joints in Knotts Berry Farm! Boardwalk BBQ isn't stingy in their food! Bbq beans: Has a hint of spice but goes well with the tri-tip steak when I doubled dipped into it!! What I didn't enjoy eating: Bbq pulled pork: Don't get me wrong the bbq pulled pork was very tasty but at the same time very salty to my taste budz. The portion size is HUGE & generous! Bbq ribs: It was dry and hurted my throat when consuming and down my esophogus! The size of the ribs are GENEROUS! I also thought that it needed more sauce as well. Boysenberry bbq sauce: I did not enjoy it at all and tasted like pickled berries sauce. If you are not a pickled whatever eater fan then I suggest to skip this one. The food had no bag to be placed in but only boxes. Like we suppose to carry the box of food whe walking around Knotts? These are all of my opinions and so give this place a chance because it's super yummers! The customer service ain't bad either and lots of seating outside too! read more

Purchased the dining plan for $33 (You can eat all day long and get your meals every 90mins.) This is our first meals. The Tri-tip was taste pretty good and the Roasted Chicken was tender but the steamed vegetables and cornbread were dried and old. There is outdoor seating. read more
