Another amazing visit. I really wanted to try some other dishes but the wet burrito is too good to pass up. As Always, it was outstanding. The Evo burger was new for me. I enjoyed it and the side of fries, but not anything special. Great service as always and the decor and environment here is always uplifiting and inspiring. Will return soon!
Great place with friendly service. I tried the tofu miso crunch wrap and it was very good. My companion had the same. Also tried some guacamole and chips. I thought the chips tasted really good. He was a bit indifferent. We came towards the end of the evening so we didn't end up getting dessert but I hope to come back again and try their beignets!

I had walked by the Mustard Seed so many times and decided to finally try it. Found parking in the parking lot, and upon walking in I noticed the beautiful nature/forest decor (fitting since it's a vegan restaurant). The scenes of nature on the TV screens and smooth music playing gave it a very calm vibe. There were also several biblical verses on the walls. Service was friendly and attentive. I ordered the loco moco, which was much wetter than I expected (the gravy was more like a broth). The patty was tasty and I was impressed how they made a vegan sunny side egg runny. The dish itself was tasty but a bit salty; the gravy broth was reminiscent of French onion soup with lots of onion and mushroom flavor. Overall, I enjoyed my experience and wouldn't mind trying more off their menu. I'm not vegan but appreciate tasty vegan and vegetarian restaurants.
Brought a friend this time and finally got to try their loco moco! Very clean, casual and relaxing music today. Their menu includes cuisines inspired by Hawaiian, Mexican, and Cajun dishes. We were sat immediately at a table and served ice water along with menus. Friday night is busy for them! Lots of tables filled before and after us! We shared the crunchy tacos, loco moco, and wet burrito. I love me any tacos dorados (fried tacos) and these are always delicious. No salsa needed since it's so well seasoned and balanced. The loco moco was a little bit on the saltier side. In the future I'd prefer the gravy on the side so I can control the saltiness. The protein patty tastes just like a regular burger patty! And the fried "egg" on top was really good too. It even had the runny yolk texture too. My favorite this meal was the wet burrito. The texture of the protein they used was so good. A nice chew and good flavor too. It's already cut in half when they serve it but they still give you a knife in case. Towards the end of our meal, we received complimentary beignets! Four fresh, hot, and served with a sauce. I only had one and my two friends also had one each. My friends enjoyed this spot and commented it's one of their new favorite vegetarian/vegan locations. I'm always happy to share good food with friends and will be back!
Very cute spot with fun nature-themed decor. Every time I visit, the staff is friendly, and a couple of times the owner has come out into the front of house to see how everything is going with guests. The food never disappoints. Quality is very high. It's very expensive to me, $20 for a wrap is definitely above average. But it's in a desirable location and they don't skimp on ingredient quality so I can see what contributes to the higher prices. I do wish they had more dessert options instead of just beignets. Great spot overall.
Ambiance, food, service all excellent!! Very cute and well designed, chic restaurant! Our server was extremely sweet and attentive! For a vegan restaurant, both GF items, crunchy tacos and crab cakes had excellent flavor and taste, but the crunchy tacos were a little oily. Tartar sauce and red chili taco sauce were tasty, the green chili sauce was spicy! Our server was extremely kind and gave us 2 pieces of their beignet on the house! Scored!! Such a pleasant, tasty surprise visit to Mustard Seed! We'll definitely be back when we're in town!
This is a Vegan restaurant but you would not believe that it's vegan food. Flavorful and so, so good..... It was so good that I was halfway through it before I remembered to take a photo. Love the atmosphere. It's relaxed, aesthetically pleasing, soothing background music and my server Sheena was wonderful. I highly recommend this restaurant for both vegan and meat eaters. You will not be disappointed. The food is fantastic. Did I mention that they serve Beignets? Brought back memories of Cafe' du Monde in New Orleans.
The Mustard Seed in Cerritos is such a vibe! From the second we walked in, the team was super friendly and made us feel right at home. The space has a modern, minimalist look that's clean and cozy, perfect for kicking back and enjoying great food. We ordered a little bit of everything and it did not disappoint: Nachos - Fully loaded with all the good stuff. Saucy, cheesy, fresh pico, and perfectly seasoned beef. Cheeseburger & Fries - Juicy burger with melty cheese and crispy seasoned fries. Classic and done right. Happy Hawaiian - Bright and fresh with pineapple, avocado, grilled veggies, edamame, and a delicious sauce. Loved that they offer vegan-friendly options! Beignets - Served at the end of our meal and honestly the perfect finishing touch. Soft, fluffy, and covered in powdered sugar. Sweet, simple, and so good. The service was warm and genuine, and everything felt super laid-back in the best way. If you're looking for a chill spot with delicious food and a welcoming atmosphere, this is it. I'll definitely be back.

My first time trying vegan Hawaiian and Cajun style food!! It was incredibly delicious, everything we tried. We started off with the crab cakes which were perfectly fried. The texture was from the hearts of palm and paired with the lemon aioli, it was a great blend of salty and sour and crunchy. For entree, we got the fettuccini Alfredo with Cajun chicken and the loco moco. It was my first time trying both dishes and I have no complaints. Also, it was super cool seeing a vegan egg yolk that burst like a regular egg - very innovative. The service was also 10/10. Our server (I think Julie) saw it was our anniversary and brought out complimentary beignets for us! Overall we had a blast and will come again soon.
My best friend died. I've been crying for two days straight. Thank God. My friend Sandy came to pick me up and take me out to get some food. I'm really grateful she picked something healthy . I love the name the mustard seed ! Biblical... the places so nice. It's decorated very organic. I didn't realize how hungry I was until I started eating. The service was amazing. She was so sweet. I needed healthy food to sooth my soul. . Thank you to the Mustardseed for helping me feel some kind of better five stars
Revisited The Mustard seed for a lunch with some friends and once again the food did not disappoint. I ordered my usual Hawaiian bowl and it was delicious just like how I remembered it to be the first time around. Great flavors, fresh, hearty, and healthy. The bowl definitely satisfy your hungry and fills you up nicely. Service is always great, friendly and efficient staff members. The restaurant was a bit smokey this day, not sure if they burnt something but there wasn't much ventilation and the smoke just sat in the sitting area. And it was pretty warm in the restaurant this day. If you haven't given vegan food a try, you're missing out.
I'm so glad I finally tried The Mustard Seed! This place is such a great find in Cerritos - and share with other eateries. The inside is small with about handful of tables and "earthy " decor including a wooden trunk!! The Loco Moco was definitely a standout. The flavors, textures, and presentation were all on point. The only recommitted loco moco is ask the gravy on the side meal was overtly drench with the sauce. We also tried the "fish tacos" (vegan version, of course) and were really impressed and taco was crunchy, but my only complaint is it was messy eating after the 2nd bite -- the fillings seemed to be falling apart and out of the taco shell. The food is flavorful and honestly makes you forget you're eating vegan. The service was great---friendly staff and fast service. Whether you're vegan or just curious about trying plant-based comfort food, I will come back to Mustard Seed a try the burritos next time. read more
Finally getting around to writing my review for Mustard Seed. I believe it's one of the few fully vegan options in the city of Cerritos, which is always nice to have. The restaurant has a cozy atmosphere, and the customer service is honestly great. The staff is friendly and willing to recommend their favorite menu items if you're not sure what to order. I've been here twice, and both visits were about the same. The food was okay. It wasn't disappointing, but it also wasn't something that really stood out to me. I've had better vegan food at other places, so I left feeling somewhat neutral. It's a decent option if you're looking for vegan food in the area, and I still encourage others to give it a try because everyone's taste and experience can be different. read more

Went back here a few more times after the last visit. They have gotten a lot better with customer service. Last time their loco moco was extremely salty and was difficult to eat. All they did was provided extra rice to accommodate the situation. Came back here again recently and it was worth the wait and drive. We don't live in the area and the food came out hot, fresh, and delicious. We come back over and over and I highly recommend it. read more

Amazing food, atmosphere, and customer service! As a Christian, I especially appreciated that our server was wearing a T-shirt with scripture--it made the experience feel even more welcoming. On her recommendation, I ordered the wet burrito, and it was absolutely delicious+pretty!. You honestly can't even tell it's vegan! We were also treated to complimentary beignets at the end, which were perfectly prepared--the temperature, texture, and sweetness were just right. read more
Had lunch here with my best friend based on her recommendation and I loved it. We came by on a Sunday at noon and found parking fairly easy. We were greeted by a lovely staff member upon entering and seated right away. Loved the beautiful decor inside and ambiance. Was a little disappointed the dish I wanted was not available due to Cheese being out of stock. Our server recommended the crispy tacos, which I ordered and was pleased with them! This was my first time trying vegan and the tacos very flavorful and delicious. Server was very friendly and attentive. She ended us bringing us complimentary beignets, which were amazing ! The menu says it's 100% vegan which is exciting bc it makes choosing food easy if that is your food preference. We ordered and shared the "chicken" BLT wrap (which looks like a thicc burrito and tastes like a chicken tenders burrito). Very tasty! We also got the "fish" tacos which were delicious. The proteins are a mix of soy proteins and wheats. Every dish has an explanation of what the "meat" substitute is made of. We also got the tater tots and paired with the vegan ranch was so good. Food was fresh and bright and flavorful. As we were first timers here they brought out complimentary beignets. They hot and crisp and cinnamony and topped with a lot of powdered sugar. Delish and a delightful touch. Highly recommend for any vegan eaters and anyone who enjoys great food. read more

Vegan restaurants are hard to find and surprisingly we have one in Cerritos. It was our first time, on a Sunday evening with a party of four. Overall I would give them a 4 star rating because it appears they need more help for a more efficient service, but the food was really good. The restaurant is a cute small and maybe a family owned business which I like. Most of the wait time was getting our food. The waitress was very pleasant. We got different dishes and tried crab cakes hem all. As an appetizer we order Cajun Crab Cakes which were excellent!!! I ordered the Loco Moco as the vegan egg caught my attention, but it was too salty for my taste buds. If they reduce it by two levels it probably be best. My husband had the wet burrito and it was delicious if you can handle spices. Our friends order a Hawaiian dish with a mix of greens and a Peanut Tofu Satay dish with a mix of green, both were delicious. Next time I go, I'll order those dishes. As first time guests the chef made beignet which was a nice surprise. The chef does an excellent job with flavors and presentation. I highly recommend this restaurant. read more

This spot is 100% vegan, and I was seriously impressed. I tried the loco moco, and wow--the "egg" isn't even an egg, it's made from chickpeas, and it tastes incredible. The flavors overall are absolutely mouthwatering. The staff is super friendly and attentive, which makes the experience even better. They also offer two infused waters: hibiscus‑strawberry and cucumber‑mint. Both are refreshing and delicious. You can even sample them before choosing, which I definitely recommend. If you go, try a few things and see what becomes your favorite. This place is a gem. read more
Every single time I go to this place I'm blown away by how delicious the food is, the service is always great, and the ambiance is so nice and relaxing as well. If you're looking for an amazing restaurant that also just happens to be vegan, this is the spot! It's located in the shopping center right across the street from the Cerritos Mall, it's very easy to get to since it's right off of South Street next to the 605. It's definitely be coming back soon, there's so much more I'd like to try, like that mushroom based crispy chicken sandwich! read more
10/7/2025 Was running errands in Artesia and wanted to stop by for a healthier lunch. They were not busy, so we were delighted to be seated immediately. This is an all-vegan restaurant. CHEESESTEAK MELT WRAP - Their "steak" is wheat gluten and soy meat. - Deliciously sautéed vegetables of onion, red bell peppers, and mushrooms. - The lettuce was crispy and fresh. - The tortilla wrap was grilled on the stove and had a lovely smoky flavor. - Everything was served hot. - I couldn't tell it was vegan! Although, yes the "steak" tasted more like mushroom than actual meat. - The cheese sauce and ranch dressing made the wrap! If not for the sauce, I don't think it would have been as delicious. - Recommend for first timers! The portion was generous too! GRAINS AND GAINS - This is a grain bowl with salad. - Added "steak" to my bowl, forgetting that this was an all-vegan restaurant. So I was chewing on the soy meat, being reminded again and again that indeed I was eating at an all-vegan restaurant. The texture of the soy meat was more of a chewier shiitake mushroom. The flavor was like sautéed mushroom with soy sauce. I didn't mind it, but I admit I wished it was red meat. - The portion was generous and there were a lot of salad and grains in it to satisfy a big appetite. I couldn't even finish this! - Salad was fresh and the grains in it were well-cooked. Loved the additional dried cranberries and walnuts and brought more flavor to the whole dish. - The dressing was a small portion. I guess they don't want you overdressing your salad! The dressing was a simple lemon-olive oil vinaigrette. When poured over the grain bowl, it had a very clean flavor. For those who like their food a bit saltier would probably want to add more salt to their dish. I didn't mind the clean flavor overall and it was a very light flavored dish. - I think for someone looking to eat clean, this dish might be for you! Not sure how satisfied you would be, even if you finished the whole grain bowl. I was craving red meat the whole time I was eating it! But so great for those on specific diets. SODA Toward the end of the meal, we wanted a soda, so got their fountain drink from Stubborn. It was the black cherry soda. It was good! The server allowed me to sample a few of the Stubborn fountain drinks before deciding what to get. CUSTOMER SERVICE / AMBIANCE / BATHROOM There was only one server, but she was great about answering questions on the menu and was friendly. Music was on the quieter side and the overall vibe with plant deco felt like a true vegan restaurant. Single unisex bathroom was large and clean. Interesting bathroom deco with a velvet tassel lamp and velvet sofa. PARKING Plenty of free parking, as it is located in a large strip mall. I would return if I'm in the area. I wouldn't go out of my way to come here, but I wouldn't object if someone else drove! Overall my experience here was pleasant. read more

My first time here and we love it! we came because we saw it was full vegan wanted to try it. We asked about the whole menu and even the protein was vegan, we all ordered different things, from nachos with crab to Hawaiian style bowls with chicken and everything was delicious, we were in love with place, the service was extremely friendly, they explained everything to us and at the end the even give us some vignettes to try for free. The decoration was also very pretty, and the restaurant was clean and organized. read more
I was looking up "Vegetarian Food" while visiting my hair stylist in Downey and this new place called the Mustard Seed came up! I gave their website a look and it had an amazing amount of options so I decided to go here after my hair appointment. The Mustard Seed is located in the Landmark Square Cerritos Plaza. Parking is ample and I got here around 3:30pm today. I am not strictly vegan but I am a vegetarian so I was excited to go somewhere with more than 2 options for me. The place was spacious, clean, and very nicely decorated. I was greeted by a staff member (I did not get her name but she was so helpful!) and I asked her if their strawberry hibiscus drink was sweet (I love a sweet drink), she said that it was definitely sweet. I let her know it was my first time and she was so patient. I ordered the Peanut Satay bowl and asked if I could add edamame to it and she said it would be no problem and that I also wanted to try the Hot Honey Chicken stripe. The cashier said that since it's my first time I would also get a complimentary dessert on the house! I got the plain beignet. There were people dining so my golden and I opted to sit on the hightops. The food came out and the Hot Honey Chicken was superb! The strawberry hibiscus drink was absolutely delicious! The bowl that I got was huuuuge! I definitely could not finish it but it was beautifully presented and tasted so good! The complimentary desert was so good too. Though the price is on the higher side it was an amazing assortment of food options and the portions are nice. I do wish they had some hot sauce offerings but that is just me. Thumbs up from a carnivore. The hot honey cornflake "chicken" strips are excellent. So are the loaded hand cut cajun fries with fake steak and fake bacon, cheese, tomato, onion, cilantro, jalapeno, and chipotle mayo. The peanut satay (grilled marinated tofu, brown rice, romaine, cabbage, carrot slaw, and Thai peanut sauce) and the tater tots side are fine. The fries and satay were large enough that we had leftovers. We met the owner, and, like his servers, he was nice, though I missed the opportunity to tell him that the ambiance is a little whack. A flatscreen shows a guy playing elevator music with a sax. It was a little loud and silly. However, he hooked us up with free beignets, which are my favorite kind of beignets. read more
Can't believe I've waited this long to eat here they've been open since 2023. I've already been back twice within the same week to try different items and both times the service was friendly and amazing! Julie our waitress is a sweetheart she was so attentive and friendly to our party of six celebrating a birthday. She cleaned up our table nicely and helped us to take photos. The menu only features plant based and non dairy items. Protein lovers will not miss meat as items are tasty. I ordered grains gain bowl with marinated tofu with mushrooms, vegetables over black rice. The second visit my dining companion ordered the loco moco the patty is juicy and the sauce is tasty. Both times they feted us to beignets. The beignets can be improved to be lighter and fluffy as it tastes like a bread roll dusted with powdered sugar. It might be a small restaurant but there is a lot of flavor to make up! I've tried many of the dishes so far but my favorites are the Chips & Guacamole, Moco Loco and the Chrispy 'Fish' Sandwish (fried oyster mushroom)! It is a small place tho, very busy on the weekends so keep that in mind. read more
