It's real and made in-house, not from a mix or a container like so many places use today. That stuff tastes like a thick, creamy soup -- not hollandaise at all! My wife had the French toast and my kid had some kind of cinnamon bun French toast creation. The fresh berries and presentation were great. While I always love the food here (the house skillet is my fave) the service was absolutely horrendous by Nate. We were sat and someone had taken our drink order and came back with our drinks. The table sat across from outside (in the separated patio) was being taken care of by Nate. At this time we did not know he was our server so we waited for our server. We waited for about 15mins. Nate had gone to the table about 2/3 times with refills and to take their order. We waited about another 5mins when he finally took our order. He immediately left after taking our food order, my husband didn't have the chance to order the ice coffee he was eyeing bc Nate had left PROMPTLY. The food came out quickly, which was dropped off by him and another sever. And that was it. He never checked in with us. Never asked us if we needed anything but repeatedly went to the table across from us (literally 3 ft away) to check up on them and refill their drinks. He finally dropped off our bill. I've driven by this place many times and have wanted to try. Always has a line on weekends and I like the sunny patio. The three stars are for the food and price, which were both good. But noise level inside was very loud, to the point you could barely hold a convo. We waited about a half hour for two people, which seemed ok. If you're going to go, request outdoor seating. Service was slow-ish. We had three people check on us early, but then left mostly alone after food was dropped. We had one friendly staffer and the rest were straight faced just trying to keep up with the pace of the packed dining room. The bathroom was unspeakably dirty. I visit Cerritos often since this is where I grew up, leaving when I bought a home in Orange County. Today my husband and I came with my Mom for breakfast. I came here regularly in the 90's and possibly in the late 80's with my parents when I was in high school. I remember getting a traditional breakfast and the menu offers the same reliable delicious food, and our family loved when we went before the pandemic.. today we enjoyed sitting in the patio, as it's close to the entrance and my Mom has mobility issues. The dining room at 8 AM was packed and I think we got choice of inside or patio table, before it was completely full house. The staff was really communicative and friendly including the hostess, buser, and our server. The buser confirmed the favorites and I decided to get the Alfredo skillet. Many of the items are named after those chefs that prepare the meals, and not necessarily what would come to mind for example, the Alfredo skillet is named after chef Alfredo and doesn't have Alfredo sauce or chicken. My husband got the chicken fried steak. My mom got the California omelette. All of our sides, and all of our meals were really good. My husband and I both got specialty coffee drinks. I decided to get the coffee butter latte, which is a special for the month and it was OK. I wouldn't get that again, but it wasn't bad tasting and was visually appealing, just was not for me. My friend has been raving about this place for quite some time but also the reviews are great. Finally decided to give it a try. This place fills up quick so the wait can be a bit long. We waited for 40 minutes which wasn't too bad. They have indoor seating and an outdoor seating area as well. During the rain they have a patio cover as well. Our waiter was nice but I wish she was more personable. No smile and monotone. I did ask for a recommendation or if she thinks the ribeye steak & eggs would be better than their scrambles and omelettes . She stated " well one is just meat." I just worked through a list of every diner and coffee shop in LA County and somehow missed this spot. It was recommended to me by another foodie and wow they were right. This place is one of the best breakfast restaurants in South Los Angeles and I would highly recommend it and already want to go back again. Mainly for the food taste and quality. It's located in a business park area and comes with free parking in the front and back. We were able to be seated right when we arrived at 10AM on Saturday in a party of two. The restaurant was fully occupied when we were there so you can tell that it's really popular with the locals, and after eating it, I can understand why. I started off the meal with a Cinnamon Roll because it's one of my favorite things and I had heard that this place has one of the better versions. I will say that it is one of the best Cinnamon Rolls that I've had in 2025 and would highly recommend it to any fan. Also, they do not take reservations, only walk ins we arrived at 9am and it was already a 40 min wait. Other than that, this place is good! We would come back but maybe a little earlier. Located off of Artesia Blvd and Studebaker, across the street from the corner of Gahr High School; and conveniently located off the Studebaker exit off the 91 freeway. You can put your name on the wait-list, but if you come early, then no need to wait in the long line which usually is the issue on weekends, gets very busy especially in this part of town so plan accordingly. I often order the chicken fried steak with overeasy eggs, home style potatoes, and salsa on the side along with a biscuit and gravy. It is delicious, definitely a hearty meal to start your day. I had the hot beverage which was a mocha coffee and it's not overly sweet, yet still retains the coffee flavor, almost like a hot chocolate poured over coffee with whipped cream and chocolate sauce drizzled on top. The service is fast and efficient and the ease of paying was helpful whether if you are in a rush or may leave with ample time to enjoy your breakfast. We arrived during prime brunch hours on a Sunday and there was quite a bit of a wait. We were told to wait about 30 minutes while we were 12th in line for a party of two, but to our surprise, I think we only waited like 10 minutes and we got seated!
