The cashier said that their Jalapeño Pepper Patty Melt is one of their favorites, so I decided to get it. The patty and a can of Squirt cost me $18 with tip. The place is very clean and nicely decorated, and my order was ready in less than 10 minutes. The patty doesn't come with fries, so if you want fries, it'll cost about $7, and they serve a generous portion. The meal was delicious, very flavorful and cheesy, and the bread itself was a little greasy, but I didn't mind. The waffle fries were freshly made and crispy. Looking for something different for breakfast so came across this place and tried it out. Customer service was on point and didn't wait long for our food. Tried Monty's #1 which is 2 pieces of chicken with waffles. Waffle was really tough to cut on a tray we were cutting the paper... first couple bites were good but once you try the waffle by itself.. waffle needed more love. I've been wanting to try Chopped Cheese, and was happy to see that Monty's Norwalk opened up. I saw them on DoorDash, so I ordered the Legendary Chopped Cheese and Monty's #1 Chicken & Waffles, which comes with two crispy fried chicken on a Belgian waffle. The packaging for my order was nicely wrapped and delivered so no complaints there. I absolutely loved the Legendary Chopped Cheese, which has chopped angus beef patty, grilled onions, lettuce, tomatoes, pickled jalapeños, American cheese, ketchup and mayo on a hoagie roll. Upon entering, we had a friendly greeting by the owner Henry and the establishment itself was clean. Henry took the time to explain all their popular picks. Monty's Norwalk just opened in the last couple of months (though they do have another location in Alhambra that's been open much longer) and has been treating people to their favorite sandwiches (chicken/waffles combo) ever since! It's a small, quiet place, so not much seating when it gets busy, but there is some nice areas outside including around a fountain across the parking lot! The staff and owner are extremely helpful and friendly. They want to do whatever they can to make sure you have a good experience. We tried a number of items including Monty #1 (chicken and waffles), Granada, Pablano cheesesteak, the chopped cheese, and fries (both waffle and sweet potato). Everything was really good! The chicken and waffles were as good as you're going to get anywhere! The chopped cheese is basically a deconstructed cheeseburger. The Granada was a great balanced sandwich and the Pablano is an elevated cheesesteak experience. The best part of the experience is all the food is reasonably priced! You can't go wrong with any of the food! If we were forced to choose go with the Granada sandwich and grab some chicken and waffles! Can see myself with a group of friends in the parking lot eating here on a late night. TDLR: Wouldn't go out of my way to get it, but portions are great. Super reasonably priced besides the sauces. We ordered for a large group and service was fast and efficient, we even had some customizations to the orders and they got it all correct. Price is reasonable for the portions too! Being vegetarian, I was pleased to see they have something for us non meat eaters..the vegetarian mushroom melt. I was craving a good sandwich and Month's does NOT disappoint. I learned that this was the second location, which is always great news if the owner is able t expand. I ordered a Philly Cheese and the meat was so juice and piping hot. My boyfriend ordered a chicken philly and we both destroyed our sandwiches. We also ordered a side of sweet potato fries which is very generous. The shop isn't fancy, but it was clean and not crowded. Getting there can be kinda tricky as we drove right by the shop once we entered (be sure to keep and eye out). A little spice of chili would make it better. The G -Moe was also delicious and had a good amount of meat. My son had the chicken and waffles and said it was good. He enjoyed the chicken and the waffles were fluffy and crispy at the same time. We tasted the dipping sauces and really enjoyed the garlic aioli. Both were absolutely full of flavor and spicy, which was the perfect compliment to each other. Starting with the G-Moe, all of the flavors were so well together, and it was stuffed with meat. I was looking for a new place to go for lunch. Found this place here on yelp. I'm so glad I did. I had the hot honey grilled cheese Omgosh yummy with great garlic waffle fries. My sister had the chicken and waffles and they were great. My mother the vegetarian had the mushroom melt. We were all so happy we came here. My next trip here I'll be trying the steak sandwiches. The chicken was cooked perfectly, the au jus was so hearty & went well with both sandwiches, we got all these sauces on the side and we enjoyed all of them with the sandwiches. Have been looking forward to trying out Monty's, namely because I've been looking for alternatives to Philly's Best for a good hot sandwich. First off, the restaurant still seems like it's trying to get up and running. The soda fountains were out of order, and there was no water available out front. Pretty annoying on a hot day. Also, their pickle bar doesn't seem to be available yet because they had no pickles upon request. Ordered the Legendary Chopped Cheese, but missed that it included jalapenos. I should have read the description a bit more closely, that's on me. However, I really feel they should be asking if you want jalapenos or not since they're not really a standard ingredient on a chopped cheese by any means. Although the hoagie roll was soft, it somehow still tasted stale. On top of that, the sandwich fell apart on me almost immediately. Overall, was a pretty disappointing visit and I wish I'd just gone to Philly's Best. Willing to give it another shot because of how much potential Monty's has.
