Sandwiches are quite large, big enough to split between 2 people if I'm being honest, but nothing I would complain about. Egg salad was great, never felt heavy despite how large it was, but I also enjoyed the Uptown Club, thickly stacked with each component but felt wholly balanced with whatever was pickled and the tomato. I did find the meatball side to be simultaneously too salty and too sweet, even though you would figure these would cancel out. My daughter recommended Uptown Provisions for lunch today (7-30-26) and I must say that I was impressed! I ordered a pastrami sandwich and she ordered an Italian sandwich, and we both liked what we ordered. My sandwich had lots of pastrami, great flavoring, and lots of spicy tastes! It wasn't dry nor was it oily! I have had plain Jane pastrami sandwiches before, so I was happy to get a good tasting pastrami full of meat, flavor, and spice! Probably one of the best sandwiches I've ever had! I'll be honest, when my husband suggested we drive 39 minutes for sandwiches, I was initially like... are we really doing this? But by the time we were leaving Uptown provisions, all I could think about was how incredibly worth the drive it was! From the moment we walked in, I loved the vibe. The space is so cool, and everyone was super welcoming. We watched a steady stream of locals come in to grab food they ordered online. You can also grab your drinks and chips from the fridge and shelves before ordering your sandwich. I ordered Tom's Way Egg Sandwich, and as someone who LOVES egg sandwiches and pastrami, I couldn't believe I'd never thought to put the two together! It comes with cheese, pickled onions, and this delicious orange sauce that isn't even mentioned in the description. The combination was SO good. I was honestly shocked by how much I loved it and would absolutely order it again and again. So glad I took a chance on something a little different! My husband got the Uptown and said the smoked turkey was so bomb. He doesn't usually even like avocado, but he was absolutely chomping away at this sandwich So I'd say that's a pretty solid endorsement! A sandwich sounded really good for lunch and this spot was it, it was packed and I understand why. Beware of street parking, we did have to circle around the block twice on a Friday afternoon but it was worth it. Pastrami Reuben -ratio of pastrami to sauerkraut was perfection. Pickled onions tied everything together, soo good! Only down side to my sandwich was the pastrami was pretty fibrous/stringy but it was only a couple of pieces which didn't upset me too much. Finally I came to Uptown Provisons!! Tiny hole in the wall sandwich spot. Parking may be a problem, I came on a Sunday, so we parked at the Bank of America parking lot and strolled on over. The line gets long but moves very quickly. Drinks are in a a fridge to your right with different sodas you can choose from while you wait to order. Theres also a little market in there. We decided to eat on the tables outside on the sidewalk and people watch. We did notice lots of either phone or online orders. People came and parked right on the street, put the emergency lights on and went right in and out with their bag of sandwiches. If you like trendy, Instagram-worthy, overpriced, unorganized, claustrophobic "sprout sandwiches," this place is for you. I fell for the Instagram hype and comments about this place, and honestly, I regret it. I was craving a Reuben and was better off just going to The Hat. I spent $20 on a Reuben that was dry, lacked flavor, and just wasn't worth the price. It also wasn't particularly busy when we went, yet the guy with the beard who took our order seemed like he could care less about being there. He didn't make us feel welcomed at all, which definitely didn't help the experience. Located in Whittier, Uptown Provisions serves really amazing sandwiches. I went with the Spicy Gabagool, which is an italian sandwich served on crusty country bread, with savory meats, tangy balsamic glaze, sweet hot honey, and creamy burrata cheese. It's a perfectly balanced sandwich. I wanted to also order their pastrami, but it will have to wait for my next visit. Uptown Provisions sources their briskets and pastrami from RC provisions, the same supplier of the iconic pastrami at Langers. It doesn't mean that it's the same pastrami; however, I don't doubt that Uptown Provisions is able to get quality and reliability from their supplier. They also source really good ingredients that they offer for sale in their pantry. I bought a few cookies that they brought in from Cake Monkey bakeries. They sold frozen burritos from Burritos La Palma, Nancy Silverton's gelato brand, and high-quality oils and condiments. It's obvious that quality ingredients are the reason they have quality sandwiches. I think these are the best sandwiches I've ever had, and that's saying a lot. With that said, it is expensive, but I think the taste of the sandwich sandwiches is worth the price. They are pretty hefty sandwiches, and they do use quality ingredients. Even the bread is really good. I got the baba ghanoush, which I think was quite amazing, and I got there special of the day which was a club sandwich which I thought was good but I think the baba ghanoush was better. I also ended up getting a cookie on some other pastry, which was also really good. The cookie that they had was super thin and just delightful. The person behind the counter answered my questions about the pastries and gave his good advice on which ones were really good and he did not disappoint, and overall it seems like the people were friendly. The store is small and there are some tables inside very clean. Very cute. A bunch of tables outside as well and it looks like it is a popular spot because when I got there, there was a line but once I found parking and walked there there was no line. It does take some time so it's not super fast. And if you don't like to parallel park, you're gonna have to learn here. I don't live in the area, so I'm sad that I won't be able to eat at this place more often. However, if I am even remotely close, I'll probably stop by. I had the Spicy Gabagool and it was excellent. You can tell all of the ingredients are quality from the bread to the greens. The hot honey put it over the top. I also had a few bites of the Prime Rib and Brisket which was also excellent. My only gripe is that for a 16-18 dollar sandwich, it's pretty small. Definitely enough for a meal, but it's not a large sandwich. Will I go back? Sure, I live fairly close. But will I be a regular? Probably not. I followed the tips and ordered online at about noon. They gave me a pick up time of 1:15. Parking was not easy to find on a Saturday and I still had to wait 15 minutes after I arrived. People who didn't order ahead were told it would be 55 min. Honestly, if I wanted a sandwich I'd just go to the Board and Brew closer to my house. However, if I lived in Uptown, I'd go there all the time. We found this place via Yelp and are so glad we tried it out. The sandwiches and desserts were delicious. I personally loved the Mexican chocolate moon pie and the turkey avocado. The staff was friendly and we even got to meet the owner who was hands on and really took in an interest in customer opinion. I should note there is barely any sitting inside though so you have to eat outside and they only have bottled drinks. read more

Service took a bit but the sandwich makes it worth it. They are busy here. Its kinda loud inside so try yo find a table outside if youre gonna eat here.
