I've been coming here for quite a while because it's within walking distance of my home, and I genuinely love the atmosphere. The older gentleman who I believe is the owner is always friendly, welcoming, and attentive. He's one of the main reasons I keep coming back. Unfortunately, my experience with the woman who takes orders and rings customers up has been very inconsistent. I'm not sure if she's his wife or daughter, but her attitude is often so rude that I find myself dreading the ordering process. While she occasionally has good days, most of my interactions with her have felt unfriendly, dismissive, and unnecessarily unpleasant. It's disappointing because I truly enjoy this café and want to continue supporting it. The food, location, and atmosphere keep me coming back, but customer service is a huge part of the experience. Walking around downtown and the smell coming from Mimo's literally was so good we had to stop in. Cute quaint restaurant with minimal indoor seating but ample outdoor shaded dining space. Very comfortable outside with music, gave it a great vibe. We opted for the burger special, great value! The hamburgers were cooked to perfection, and French fries super tasty. We came here after a hike at Hellman Park Trailhead. There's plenty of seating outside but you order and pay first. I got the French toast with 2 eggs over easy and sausage. It was sooo good! The service was good but it can take a bit to get the food. read more

Ventured out to uptown Whittier today and decided to stop in here for our morning coffee. I didn't know what to order till a lady walked in and picked up an iced cafe de olla and it just looked amazing! So I grabbed on as well and the wife got an iced Amaretto coffee. Staff was soooooo nice and friendly. At first they looked serious and I was worried They would come off as rude but no way , super cool! And talkative ! Even after we grabbed our coffee and left to sit outside they still came out to see if everything was good. Kudos to this place and I'm so happy we stopped in 20 thousand stars!!!! read more

Again not too impressed. The lettuce they served with the taquitos was wilted. I'm surprised even though it was still early in the day. Wilted lettuce might be expected later in the day but a good restaurant should not serve food that has been sitting all day. Needless to say, I was so hungry I ate the taquitos except for the wilted lettuce. If i had to choose the only thing good was the guacamole but I've had better. read more

The service here is very friendly. This cafe has been around since my family first came to Whittier about three decades ago. Their club sandwiches are great and their fries are yummy as they're served fresh, crispy and thick. I also loved that they weren't salted. They give you ketchup, salt, and pepper so that the customer can season as they prefer. The coffee was also great and the price was very reasonable. I got the small mocha latte and as a slight sweet tooth who also gets acid reflux if drinking strong coffee I was pleased that the drink wasn't too strong and it was so satisfying. I also love that they put what seemed to be crushed cocoa pebbles in the drink. They also have decaf coffee for those who can't handle caffeine. The cafe has both indoor and outdoor seating. We tried this place for the first time last year on Father's Day. We were looking for a place with an outside patio that would fit our large family. We showed up last minute and were able to be accommodated. The server was so incredibly warm and welcoming. He made sure we were all comfortable and in the shade. He even made sure there was space to pull up our babies stroller comfortably. He was fast and always attentive. Came for breakfast and the food was very good and tasted fresh. It does come a bit under seasoned for each persons preference to add additional salt or sauces when served. I ordered a Cafe de Olla and it was Amazing, not too sweet and not too bitter. Their desserts look amazing and will definitely be coming back for one on the next run. This is a classic spot in Uptown Whittier I've gone to for years now. I usually come for breakfast and lunch since they just hit the spot. Perfect cafe vibes. My bf and I enjoyed our lunch on the patio while a guitarist was playing sweet tunes. Fries and ranch are my favorite, can't go wrong with a BLT. Vanilla lattes also hit the spot with the perfect amount of sweetness. All my experiences with food have been nothing but great. Only reason for it not being 5 stars is the workers. I've had interactions with different employees throughout the years and they never hit the mark with me. Not very engaging or welcoming.
