Came in with my fiancé for breakfast at the original pancake house after a doctor's appointment. Hadn't been to this location before. Not very busy on a weekday morning around 10AM so we were seated immediately. Server took our drink orders and returned for our food orders. Food was solid, I was a little surprised when the bill came. Nearly $65 for breakfast seems steep. $8 for a side of hashbrowns was definitely more than I would expect. All in all the breakfast was fine but the price was higher than I was expecting. I'll check the next time I go to one of the other locations and compare, I might just be out of touch.

What could have been a 48 min wait, was a 10 min wait Idk if the front hostess estimate time was accurate We invited a friend to come experience the wonderful & tasty plates this establishment has to offer. 9/10 he enjoyed his meal & pancakes We opted for the waffle & fresh strawberries +whip , pretty delicious!

We tried eating here is the past but weren't able to due to not finding parking and the long wait. This time we got on the waitlist at a reasonable time and were able to get 1 of 2 remaining open parking spots. Unfortunately this lot is quite small for how many people it serves and it's annoying to get in and out. The food is good though and the servers are nice. I enjoyed the coffee, it was a nice smooth medium roast and did not taste burnt. We got a traditional waffle which had a nice sweet batter. The texture is that of an Eggo but I personally prefer that to thick waffles. I didn't care much for the apple chunks. It would have been better if they were baked apple slices but the chunks were somewhat crunchy in a way that didn't quite suite the waffle. I would get the waffles again but not the apple flavor. Thankfully I had a side of bananas and cream to eat with the waffle. The sausage patties were good. Our favorite was the biscuits and gravy. They have a spectacular biscuit! It was the right amount of soft and flaky. The sausage gravy was perfectly savory with nice bits of sausage. Definitely on my list of best biscuits and gravy in SoCal.

Came here on a Sunday for breakfast. Line was too long. About 20-25 min wait. Whip cream is fake, it melted. Omelette was not fluffy at all, unlike other OPH locations. Berries were fresh tho. Hashbrowns were undercooked not crispy and well done like in the pictures. May or may not come back to this location.

Such a friendly server today! We were on the wait list, walked right in and got seated, which is great with a Mamá with a walker! We got the mandatory apple baked pancake for the table! It does take 30 to 40 minutes to cook, but we never leave without it. And tomorrow it'll be even better than it was today. lol So for my regular breakfast, I just got bacon and eggs with pancakes on the side, my babe got the eggs Benedict with potato pancakes on the side, and mama got strawberry crêpes with an insanely illegal amount of whip whipped cream on top and on the side!!!! We asked, they delivered! Everything was delicious, and we left too full, but happy. Peace, joy, and pancakes!

Our special breakfast spot! This place is always a treat. The warm hospitality captures the feeling of being genuinely welcomed, cared for, and treated like family. Our favorite dishes are the bacon pancakes, German Dutch pancake, Nutella crepes. Sometimes I just want to come for the bacon, it's the best I've had. The portions are incredibly generous here. Just do it!

This place never disappoints, the food portions are huge and tasty. The line is a bit long even with the yelp waitlist, expect to wait for at least an hour on the weekend if not work. The parking lot is always full so be prepared. The service is good and inside has a good amount of tables. If you enjoy breakfast food, I was give this place a try. The German pancake is interesting a bit sweet and a bit sour because of the lemon. The Swedish pancake is like a thin crepe with butter and lioness berries

Breakfast perfection at The Original Pancake House in Whittier! From the moment we walked in, the staff was warm, welcoming, and efficient -- the kind of attentive service that makes you feel like a regular, even on your first visit. The space has that classic, cozy diner feel with a lively buzz that says "this is where the good stuff happens." Now for the food -- absolutely worth the hype. The Apple Pancake is a showstopper: warm, fluffy, and caramelized to perfection, like a cross between a pancake and an apple pie. The German Pancake was equally impressive -- light, airy, and buttery with the perfect lemony sweetness. The Chorizo Omelette was loaded with flavor, hearty and perfectly balanced without being greasy. And the Corned Beef Hash and Eggs? Comfort food gold -- crisp edges, tender beef, and cooked just right. Coffee kept flowing, plates came out hot, and everything tasted freshly made with care. Between the service, the food, and that timeless breakfast-house charm, this spot absolutely delivers. Already planning my next visit -- and yes, I'll be dreaming about that Apple Pancake until then!

I ordered a pumpkin Belgian waffle, Spanish omelette, strawberry crepe, and 2 Eggs + Hashbrowns Keynotes: - check in on yelp! - Easy parking - Amazing food The Pumpkin Belgian Waffle was amazing, it had great flavor and loved the whipped cream that came with it. I would highly recommend to try this while in season. The Spanish omelet was a great size, the sauce went well with the omelet. The Eggs and Hashbrowns were both cooked to perfection, best Hashbrowns I've had from a brunch place so far. Overall if you're looking for a good brunch spot and don't mind the wait then I would recommend to come here. Even though getting a table takes a bit, the food came out quick. The staff is friendly and the ambiance is casual.

I completely second the other most recent one-star review after my experience here today. My partner & I ordered blueberry pancakes, the cornbread beef & eggs, and the apple waffle. When we received our food, we were extremely disappointed from the get-go just by how cheap & underwhelming my partner's waffle looked. Looks like they just heated up an Eggo & slapped the $14 price tag on it. I paid $1.50 extra expecting to already have FRESH blueberries in/on my waffles, but they brought me a separate batch of "blueberries" to put on my waffles that looked like they had been 3D printed. The pancakes lacked any blueberry flavor at all despite having blueberries cooked into them. They were also completely inedible because they were uncooked and soggy. The Original Pancake House sure knows how to live up to their name. We then told our server about the food quality & asked if I could just get plain buttermilk pancakes instead. They then asked if I wanted "fresh blueberries". This is what I ordered in the first place. I'm sorry I didn't know there was two options for blueberries for my pancakes: one AI-generated & the other fresh??? The server was kind & took action to try to correct the situation. I received new pancakes & fresh blueberries, but unbeknownst to us we would be charged an additional $1.50 extra for requesting fresh blueberries. Pancakes were still undercooked & lacked flavor. This experience was abysmal. I'm not sure if this is a franchisee situation because we've been to the Anaheim location a few times & the food was great. But whoever runs this place is running it into the ground and making their employees deal with the consequences. It's so expensive to eat out so when people choose to spend their time & money at your restaurant the LEAST you could do is give them good quality food. Please don't waste your time or money here, there's so many amazing local restaurants who would give you fully cooked, amazing breakfast.

It's a good solid breakfast place. The pancakes are good, but not my favorite. The eggs benedict were delicious! Both the original and the country fried! The service was good. We got seated right next to the kitchen door so that part wasn't the best experience with the servers constantly slamming the door open

Stopped by during the week with no waiting/line. Ordered the apple pancake -- that takes a little longer, but well worth it! Our server, Diana, was excellent! She should have warned us how huge the pancake was, but it was so yummy, and we got to take some home for later!

Met some friends here to catch up. The wait can be up to an hour at brunch time on Sunday. There is a parking lot for the restaurant right behind. Although the servers and hostesses are super busy, the service doesn't get impacted by it. Very friendly team members. The food was good, too. We stayed a bit after we were done eating and they didn't rush us out. I'll definitely be back.

My only bummer was the toast on my Bacon Up Toast Breakfast was not... toast. It was very lightly toasted. Could have been WAY more toasted to hold the weight of all of the avocado spread, tomatoes, bacon, and onions that was stacked on top! Definitely needed a sturdy toast base so it was hard to pick up to eat. With the business being named TOAST, I would think they could nail the toast more. Food tasted 10/10 and will definitely be coming back. I will just ask for the toast to be more toasted for the future.

This time we walked in and immediately thought... wait, are we in the right place? It just feels completely different now. New owners? New management? New everything? The vibe has somehow gone from cute neighborhood café to "family business that also happens to own an espresso machine." Even the barista was casually having a meal behind the register. Honestly, she might've had the right idea because I should've asked what SHE ordered. We got the Everything Croissant and the C&S Grilled Cheese. Unfortunately, both were pretty disappointing. The Everything Croissant has eggs, onion, bell pepper, cheese, tomato, house spread AND avocado. That is basically the Avengers of breakfast ingredients, yet somehow they all assembled and forgot to bring the flavor. Then came the C&S Grilled Cheese. The menu says soy chorizo, spinach, bacon, cheddar and spicy buffalo cheese. Ours had absolutely NO soy chorizo. That used to be one of the best parts! I kept looking through the sandwich like maybe it was hiding. Nope. Soy chorizo had apparently taken the day off. We also noticed several things we used to order are gone from the menu. And then, on the way through all these changes, you notice the B health department rating and think... okay Cream & Sugar, we really need to sit down and talk. I'm not trying to beat up on a local business because we genuinely used to love this place. I just hope they can bring back some of what made Cream & Sugar so good before, because right now it feels like the café we loved went on vacation and forgot to tell us.
