I came here yesterday for breakfast, and thought the food was pretty good, just a little pricier than I would expect for this type of restaurant. You walk in, and you order at the counter. From there, they will tell you where to sit, and then they bring out the food to you. I don't love the concept, because you're not really given time to study the menu and decide on what you want. Luckily, we already knew what we wanted for our entrees, but didn't really get the chance to review beverages or sides, so we went without either. We ordered the chicken and waffles, and the breakfast burrito. The breakfast burrito was fine, and was a generous size; the salsa that came with it just tasted like a chipotle cholula. The chicken and waffles really did blow me away though. The chicken strips were so flavorful, and worked with both the syrup and the white gravy that they provide; only downside was that the chicken was a little stringy and chewy for my taste. When you are sat down, they bring you a bottle of water so that you can pour yourself the water. After that, no one really checks in on you. Which is a bit of an issue, since we did run out of water by the time we were done with the food. And if you wanted to order more food afterwards, you're kind of out of luck. And you tip at the counter before you even sit down? Just a bit illogical from a consumer perspective. Maybe it's because I came a little earlier in the morning, but it was pretty quiet atmosphere, in a good way. It had enough people where it wasn't an awkward silence, but not so loud that you'd have to raise your voice to communicate across the table. My biggest issue is with the prices here. $17 for a burrito, $19 for the chicken and waffles. And this is before tax/tip, for an establishment where their only job is to bring you the food, without really checking up on you afterwards. Menu prices just seemed a little steep, considering that they're not operating with the same amount of service as a full sit-down restaurant experience. They need to staff their restaurant appropriately. It is my first time there. No one is at the host stand, so I wait in line to order my food . There's a huge party in front of me and try to order. The cashier rudely tells me I need to go back to the hostess stand, and no one is there. Signs would be helpful. Also, when you call the restaurant you cannot talk to a live person, just an automated machine. Very disappointed. read more

While they don't serve alcohol, you honestly won't miss it because their freshly made juices, handcrafted lattes, and coffee are absolutely fantastic. Everything tasted fresh and made with care. The atmosphere is warm, lively, and family-friendly, making it an awesome spot for brunch with friends, family, or even larger groups. The staff creates a welcoming vibe that makes you want to stay a little longer. As for the food--delicious across the board! But if you're going, do yourself a favor and order the avocado toast. It was fresh, flavorful, and easily one of the highlights of the meal. This morning we had breakfast at Poached Kitchen -- and it's quickly become a regular for us. We used to go to their Downey location, but now that they've opened one in Whittier (only 10 minutes away ), it's our go-to. First off, the space is beautiful -- tons of natural light, great music, and an upbeat, welcoming vibe that's perfect for a breakfast spot. The staff is always friendly, attentive, and super helpful. Now, the food. I ordered the breakfast burrito -- it's ginormous and packed with potatoes, sausage, chorizo, cheese, and eggs. Super flavorful and honestly one of those meals where you just want to keep eating even when you're full. We also shared the blueberry ricotta pancake for the table and it was stellar. The blueberry compote wasn't overly sweet, and the ricotta balanced everything out perfectly. To drink, I tried the dulce de leche latte (I usually go for the vanilla), and it was so good -- definitely adding it into the rotation. My friend had the eggs Benedict and was raving about it too. Food here is always made fresh. The ingredients to my breakfast chilaquiles (green) are all cooked to perfection and more than enough for a perfect serving! Black beans that come with my meal are just the right side to this meal and you can get your eggs made to your choice. I wanted to love this place but it just wasn't it. I ordered the Birria Benedict, it was not good at all. The meat was almost like it was blended (almost like a sloppy Joe) minimal taste, no seasoning or spiciness, it had some hollandaise sauce, and the muffin was hardly toasted. The hash brown even lacked flavor. Three of the four meals we ordered were cold. It was pretty pricy. You order your food at the counter, get a number, then find a table. It's was pretty busy. Everything we ate was delicious. Even the breakfast potatoes were cooked just right, with just the right amount of seasoning and the right amount of roasting do they were crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside side. I had the vegetable omelette with cheese. It had just the right amount of cheese inside so you could taste and appreciate the vegetables. Many times the cheese overwhelms the vegetables. We all remarked how good our meals tasted. The only downside is since you pay ahead the tip is added ahead before you are served. So you can't tip extra for great service. read more

Tried this location for the first time. Not the best breakfast/brunch spot. The layout of it all seems off. You have to check in at front with worker, they take your name, you go and order, and then sit down at assigned table. However, servers are not coming around to see if you need water, utensils or anything. Once they drop the food off you have no interaction with any help. My bf had to go and walk inside to get sugars for coffee and utensils. This seems like a chaotic place if you have more than 10 people in your party. The food is just okay, nothing special. The egg whites I had were watery and the pork sausage links weren't appealing to eat. The sourdough, hash browns and avocado were very fresh and my bf liked the sauce of his chilaquiles. We got cold brews and they came black, no sugar or milk the side, and was a bit bitter. Overheard the table next to us ask 3 busboys and 2 staff if they can get their food that was super late to come out. The service was equally disappointing. After the food was dropped off, I was essentially ignored. No one ever came back to check on the meal or offer an iced tea refill. Here is my mixed review. Why four stars if overall I really wasn't happy with the restaurant? Frankly, my food was good and the staff were friendly and helpful. That's the best reason to go to any restaurant right? However, we did not like to have to stand and wait outside to review a menu before we could be seated. PS Please add carnitas as a protein option. My partner got Avacodo Toast. Very disappointed. One small poached egg on a giant thick slice of bread with a light smear of avocado just didn't meet expectations for $15. 5 star food, Chilaquiles 2 star food Avacodo Toast 5 star staff 2 stars for Fast Casual environment with Full Service restaurant pricing. It is so flavorful with the right kick of spice with wonderful aroma that he finished it before me. I love my salted caramel latte with good balance for the creamy and sweet sense. We share the chicken and waffle and house Benedict. We are not really a fan for the ham part of the Benedict and hash brown has mild cheese flavor and taste good, but i will choose salad next time because I really love that last time. Celiac Safe-Gluten Free options I've eaten here twice and I can confidently say that I've had a great experience with the food. I have celiac disease and I get there chilaquiles green or red which state GF, but just make sure to state gluten allergy and they take care of you. I have not gotten sick and trust me when there is cross contamination I will feel it in minutes, not here though. I only gave them a 4 star because I wish they had more GF options but other than that, love love love this place read more
