After a memorial service we wanted breakfast and candidly I wasn't looking for Mexican food, but we are glad we discovered Rey's. Can't say we didn't know about it. We pass by a lot with the greenway trail nearby and the antique emporium next door. Staff were super nice and friendly. Service from order to plate deliver was quick. I have the nopales and eggs. Super flavorful and the side salad gave the right amount t of kick. Wifey had the French toast with bacon and eggs. I had to sneak a bite of the bacon. Very good. We definitely will be back. Very charming home style cafe with plenty of pics on the walls that I am sure have stories.

I ordered online ahead and it was ready when I got there. I was disappointed when I saw it was the really thick bread but it tasted pretty good. I would order it again. It was yummy. They didn't use fresh fruit, but they use strawberry jam and pulled it off. The bacon and scrambled eggs were good too.

every time I go it does not disappoint. This time I ordered the Reys Omelette and it was more than delicious. The employees also treat you like family making it a warm and welcoming atmosphere.I would highly recommend coming to Rey's Little Kitchen

Homespun restaurant on the same lot as King Richard's Antique Center. I have seen this restaurant many times on my way in to King Richard's but I always saw a line outside waiting to get in. On an early Sunday morning, I made my way to Rey's and was greeted and seated immediately. I noticed the many, many photos on the wall that told a story of happy customers. It was obvious that the people that came to Rey's came to experience more than the food. They came to be comfortable and to be recognized. We ordered the following: * Breakfast Asada plate with rice and beans, over easy egg, and corn tortillas. * Veggie Lovers Omelette with crispy hash browns and wheat toast. The food was delicious and the service was great. However, It's the ambience and the service that I feel has customers coming back. It's a cozy place to spend Sunday mornings. Parking is very limited as the small parking lot is shared with King Richard's. Street parking is available too. Enjoy your visit!

This place is very special it's not a chain restaurant it's not a corporate restaurant it's a nice small what I call Mom and Pop little cafe this place is awesome the ladies that work here are completely one of a kind the food you could just taste the home cooking behind it I've been coming here for a lot of years me and my mom and something very special happen when I came in for this visit when you walk in you'll notice there's hundreds of pictures all over the wall of what I call regulars people that come around all the time eventually they took a picture of me my Mom and my sister and a few weeks later we were honored by it being put on the wall Time Marches on and I lost my poor mother from cancer in 2020 3 days before Christmas so I came in to ask them a very unusual but special request if I can buy the picture of me and my mom and my sister and without even hesitation she pulls it off the wall and hands it to me I almost started crying I couldn't think her enough she understood why that picture was so special to me and I tried offering her money and she would not take it that's the kind of people you deal with here very special people it means the world that she gave me that picture I will always be be thankful to her for that I had my breakfast while I was there staring at that picture and of course sitting at the same table we always did it was really heartfelt so if you're in the area please stop by and enjoy some really good food prepared by some really good people

Mom and Pop spot with divey vibes in an excellent location right next to King Richard's antiques. Decent menu, great service and convenient whenever I'm antique hunting. I was greeted and seated immediately...my server was extremely friendly and attentive. She even brought me a sample of their new Aguas Frescas flavor - guava. And if you like guava you'll love it - very nice level of guava flavor - but it was definitely too sweet for me and I'm not a huge fan of guava flavored things - but still worth a try. For my lunch I got one of my faves - taco salad - and it hit the spot. They give you choice of meat so I went with the carnitas and it was fantastic- some of the best carnitas I've ever had I think - very generous amount and it was tender, slightly roasted on the outside and so flavorful. I loved it and there wasn't an overwhelming amount of salad - it was just right. They didn't offer any salad dressing which I thought was odd but were happy to bring me a side of ranch when asked. No biggie. Prices are a tad high, but they all seem high to me nowadays lol! The tables and cutlery were clean enough but my water came in a very worn plastic glass which I hate and the cleanliness of it was dubious at best. My lunch plate was also broken is several places and if you go to the bathroom don't look around too much lol. Parking is very limited in terribly tight spaces but there's also street parking. They're doing a lot of construction at King Richard's right now so that adds to the parking chaos.

Appreciated yelpers reviews in our decision to come give Rey's a try. Enjoyed our meals (bacon, eggs, hash browns plate & chile rellenos, rice/beans plate) but nothing memorable. Service friendly and building showing its age but maybe that's part of their ambiance. Would I go back..... maybe.

Found this place via Yelp and the service was incredible. Love that it's a cozy home feel inside. We started with some good coffee and placed our orders for some breakfast. My husband got a traditional eggs and potatoes breakfast which he said was delicious, he really liked the mild salsa that accompanied on the side. I ordered a nopal dorado plate that came with tortillas and an amazing spicy salsa, I asked for a cooked Serrano on the side and they got it to me quickly which was perfect with the plate. The waitress let me know for the future you can ask for certain plates to be spicier than usual if requested. Love that! Great spot, can't wait to come back with my family. Great prices and portions and they have nice outdoor seating.

if you want to feel heaven on earth, come to this place I don't think I've ever had food this good and that says a lot. The food here made my toes curl to the max. The service here astronomical I don't think I've ever been treated this well even by my own mother. The scenery, beautiful I look over to one side and see a fat Mexican kid, smiling ear to ear. That's how you know the food is gonna be good. I came here with 10 of my friends and we all got our food under 20 minutes wow. I'm not big on breakfast but from now on I'm going here as often as I can. I don't care if my cholesterol rises. This is probably the best place I've ever had food at thank you.

I've been coming here for the past 8 years or so and never had a complain. I enjoy coming here due to the great food and super friendly environment. My favorite dish to order is the chilaquiles plate, they are delicious and just perfect with some carne asada. I am always looking forward to my next visit. read more

This is definitely a breakfast place. I've had the pleasure to eat here several times when in Whitter but I remembered today that I always had breakfast and the selections and food were always excellent. But today, I had lunch and I was beyond disappointed. They didn't have chicken for chicken tacos, they do not have real guacamole so taquitos and asada tacos were out of the question so I settled on the crispy beef tacos. The beef was dry and old and the tortillas were stale and chewy. The service was great. Next time, I will stick with the breakfast selections. read more

Today's plate was served with luke warm potatoes, so bland & beans that had no flavor!! Red chilaquiles were asked to have over easy eggs, the yolk was cooked all the way on both eggs, an overwhelming spicy sauce on my chilaquiles. You can see all the seeds from the . Will not be visiting this establishment again! I came here in a bad mood and it turns out all I needed was delicious home cooking. I ordered the French toast breakfast and coffee and it was what I needed. Maybe I was caffeine and food deprived but my mood flipped. I also loved that right next to me was El Chavo and Chillindrina so I giggled. This place feels like home and Aurora is so sweet. I came on a weekday so it wasn't busy but I can imagine it being packed on the weekend. Where your walking shoes cause King Richard's Antique Mall is next door so walk off you breakfast! read more

Came here hungry after a nice hike with my husband and our dog. We chose Rey's after seeing they have an outdoor patio and good yelp reviews. One positive review mentioned it had "divey vibes" which to me usually means they do a good breakfast! We got there around 10:30, perfect time to beat the church crowd, we got a table right away. The service was great! Very welcoming and friendly. Felt like home. Ambiance can be considered "divey" but I mean that in that in the best way, we love that vibe. The food was great! Their plates remind me of homestyle Mexican food I had growing up. Comforting, no frills. Just straight forward delicious. Great laid back spot after a hike! read more

This little hole in the wall is a Whittier gem! The service was top tier and the waitresses were on point. Reyna was very attentive to my granddaughter and I. She recommended a few dishes, and we ended up going with the Silver dollar pancakes breakfast for my granddaughter & I ordered the Chile Verde Plate! We will definitely be back with the rest of the family for the Pozole and Menudo! read more

My family and I have been coming here for years. We love the staff. Great food and quick service. A little hole in the wall if you want varied Mexican food. My favorites are the chilaquiles and the costilla plates. Recommend for breakfeast. read more

Got hungry while in King Richard's and luckily the hours for this place on yelp are wrong (open to 4 on weekends) The cinna sticks were so good. Crisp but soft, sweet but not too sweet. Get them. read more

I had just flown home from spending a week in the Amazon jungle and I was looking for an authentic Mexican spot for breakfast. Rey's was on point! I loved the food while in Peru but some good homemade Mexican...nothing beats it! The staff was awesome, I am excited for a return visit! read more

Came here 2 days ago. It was good. It is a cozy place. It's medium-spaced dining area, kind and helpful staff. Came here for breakfast and tried a country fried steak and eggs with champurrado. The steak was crunchy on the outside and moist on the inside and tasted hand-breaded and not some frozen one that was warmed up. I also got to try the huevos rancheros. The salsa roja was tasty but spicy. We couldn't decided on which salsa and they have us some mole to try on the side which was kind of them. The champurrado had a good consistency but wasn't sweet at all. Everyone makes it differently. I ordered a sausage burrito to go, and my sis said it was delicious! The prices were reasonable for a restaurant. I would like to return and try the lunch menu. read more

We came to celebrate a birthday. Waiters were fine but they served us a steak that had a weird odor. Gave it try because maybe it was something else and the steak was bad. It left a bad taste in my mouth all morning. I had no appetite after that. I was so grossed out I felt like vomiting. They didn't apologize but they didn't make us pay for it which was the least they could do. We also ordered cheese enchiladas with papas and beans and I could tell it was sitting for a while before it got served to us because it wasn't hot. Unfortunately, we had a bad experience. i tried this resturant based off of the reviews... upon seating there was a wait. wasnt so bad. got seated had our coffee and got our breakfast, i was expecting more than what i actually had. flavor wasnt all that. my boyfriend came back to give it another shot and he pretty much wont be back again. the food is very heavy and greasy makes ur stomach hurt instantly.. wish i could say different.. read more

I went for the first time and i got a breakfast burrito nd it was a good ive tried better but it was decent , it might taste like your homemade how your mom would make it without too much flavor added ingredients, What i love was their menudo as they gave me a free sample taste of it , its fresh everyday they say and the posole was okay, i would def go again and try other foods.. read more

Good food, variety of Mexican dishes, friendly servers. Lots of free parking. I ordered the red Chilaquiles since our waitress told us that that was their famous breakfast dish. She recommended red ones although everyone orders the green ones. They tasted amazing the tortilla triangles where perfect not soggy at all with a crunch to them. My boyfriend and I saw great reviews about this restaurant. We went for breakfast and both had the chilaquiles breakfast with refried beans and eggs. My boyfriend had the same but with steak and he had his chilaquiles very hot! He enjoyed it so much as I did as well! Great and fast service we will be returning customers again when we come back to California. Loved it! read more

Very welcoming. I saw one of the staff run to the door and go outside to say bye to a couple who slipped out before he saw them get up. On the same visit another staff member walked out someone's order in the rain. Everyone that walked in was offered a warm hello. read more

EXCELLENT place MUST eat TO SEE, Located behind King Richards Antique Mall is where you'll find great customer service and good food. Looks like they only serve breakfast and lunch. For some reason Tuesdays and Wednesdays is when they make home made tortillas. read more

Its a pleasant eatery, extraordinary nourishment it was one of the last things my father appreciated, months previously his passing. Regardless I go there when I'm in Whittier. Great segments and the hold up staff are all family since it's family possessed. read more
