Stopped by this morning for a menudo to go- still as delicious as when I first tried it many years ago.. it's fresh, not smelly which means it's very clean tripe, it's flavorful and not greasy like most places around Whittier- this spot is the OG spot! I forgot that I've been to this place circa 2019 and didn't like it even though my buddy's wife insisted it's the best place in town. There must be better burritos in town. This visit, I had a bacon breakfast burrito and sprinkled their green salsa on it. My complaints today are the same I had in 2019 when I had a carne asada burrito if memory serves: 1) The tortilla was cold 2) The burrito was barely warm but not warm enough to melt the cheese. The contents of the burrito were decent. The eggs weren't burned. It's just too bad that it was not warm. There were only 2 or 3 other customers. Staff and customers were very friendly. I felt welcome. Parking lot was small and only one way in and out so I can see how it would really suck if it gets busy. If i could leave negative stars i would. Its mothers day morning, was surprised with two large menudos for the morning. I had eaten a bit and then was showing my husband to use a tortilla and as i put a chunk on the tortilla i see a bug. Not sure if its a roach or a mosquito but it was not tiny and it was noticeably A BUG in my menudo. Couldn't eat it after that, threw them both away WILL NEVER GO BACK. read more

This place has great Mexican food at affordable prices. Their Menudo con pata can bring back the dead! They're family owned and treat their customers with respect. My first time there, I had their Menudo. I couldn't eat it all, so I asked for a to go container. I asked if they could top off my leftovers so I could have more to eat. I remember thinking "yeah, good luck with that Eileen." Omg, they did! Not only did our server add more broth to it, he added more hominy and more tripe! Super Burrito has the typical Mexican fare, eg. Burritos, tacos, Chile relleno, plus hamburgers and fries. We got burritos and we're pleasantly surprised at the size! Bigger than many other places. Yay! The carne asada burrito was super yum. The chicken burrito could have used a little more flavor, and I found a bone in the meat. The staff are friendly and helpful. There are quite a few booths for dining in. The parking lot was a little tricky because the entrance driveway has a one way arrow, but we couldn't find an exit driveway. read more

Our first time there. When we walked in there was nobody at the entrance, so we sat down. The young man approached the counter and looked at us and said loudly, "come order first!" No good morning, or such thing. Ok... we got up and went to order. I ordered red chilaquiles (sauce tasted from a can, and the rice was hard, maybe reheated from yesterday or day before?) and he asked me how I wanted my eggs and said sunny side up. My husband ordered green chile and eggs, but he didn't ask him about the eggs. My husband doesn't like sunny side up at all. He assumed all eggs would be the same, sunny side up, and I didn't realize it until the order was served. The extra tortillas took 5 minutes after the food was served and my husband had to get up to get them, so service is lacking. The place is small, but busy, so one waitress is not enough. She has to take care of tables and take out orders. The establishment needs maintenance and upkeep. The decor is outdated. Parking spaces are small and limited. read more

I absolutely love this place! I've been coming here for years and love their menudo! Tastes like it's homemade and that's what makes it even better! I had stopped coming for about a year when COVID happened but I recently started coming back. I'm really sad to hear that owner's son had passed away. RIP and sending condolences! So this place was recommended for their menudo from a guy that my mom talked to. So we went on a Sunday morning just before the breakfast crowd came in. This place got packed quickly and right before you know it the place was full. So my mom & I tried the menudo, the chilaquiles plate, and sweet bread. Everything was great and the service was good. We arrived late at night and we were informed that they were only doing take out at that point, which was fine but I kinda wanted to dine in, the place looked cleaned and homey. I stopped by here a few weeks ago with my love & I must say I wasn't impressed. We've been on the hunt to find a good menudo spot in the Whittier area & this place popped up in the recommended section. We ordered a few menudos & since I was hung over from the night before I was craving an agua fresca. Well for starters the gentleman that took my order was actually very polite & when I asked if they had aguas frescas he said of course. I asked which 1 he recommended & he said the melon was the best one. The agua was of course very delicious, but I felt ripped off! For like almost $5 a cup I had asked for light ice & upon getting home I realized I was in fact ripped off! There was way more ice than agua de melon. I usually check these things but as I said I was very hung over & I just grabbed our orders & left, truly a disappointment. The menudo itself was actually decent & they did hook it up with carne & I like that they put grano (hominy ) in their menudo, but the broth wasn't the best, I felt like it needed a little more spice but overall it was decent. The tortillas that they give you though totally suck. I did not like their tortillas 1 bit. I took a bite & was immediately displeased. We had to toss them out & heat up our own tortillas. This place has great potential I feel, but I did not like getting ripped off for my agua de melon, when you're hung over you're dehydrated & you want something refreshing which the agua was, but I got so little of it that I was left feeling ripped off. We'll continue to be on the hunt for a menudo spot in the Whittier area, any recommendations are greatly appreciated. read more

Gave this place a try driving home from LAX. Was in the mood for a breakfast burrito and this did not disappoint. The cashier was very friendly and welcomed me the moment I walked in. The breakfast burrito was huge and delicious. Had everything including bacon, sausage, eggs, cheese and crispy hash browns. Added an Orange Bang and it went great with the burrito. A friend had suggested this place when she knew I'd be in the area for work. Warned be that there was no frills, just a solid burrito place to get some tasty menudo and even joked that I could get gas, and get a burrito at the same time (location is right next to a station) so that's what I did. Since these are Covid times, the place was cautioned off and had all the proper shields/partitions up. Francisco was friendly, helpful and nice to talk to when ordering and served me up some of the best menudo I've had. The tripe was the usual you'd get (super clean) but the broth was the star of the show. Usually, I doctor mine up with lemon, oregano and red pepper but this time, I didn't need to do that et all. Such a pleasing soup with so much flavor. Bonus: the owner went to Cantwell Sacred Heart of Mary. Always nice to support local businesses and local alumni. read more

Walked in today, 7/14/23, around 2:30pm. Ordered a super breakfast burrito from a very friendly and kind man, my total came out to $11.85. They took Apple Pay which was perfect since I forgot to bring my wallet. The man kindly told me to help myself to any salsas or sides. I got the green salsa and some jalapeños/carrots. Took a look around the dining area and it seemed cute and cozy. They have booths all around. Also had cool portraits hung up, I thought that was a cute touch to this place as well. My food was ready very quick as well. Tasted amazing! Definitely satisfied my pregnancy craving lol. No extra oil either, as some people are pointing out.
