We came here for dinner on a Friday night. There was a short wait for a bother which we preferred. Once sat we were brought complimentary chips and salsa. The salsa tasted jar but it was filling while our entree came out. We ordered surf and turf fajitas to share since we had a late lunch. The meat was good but there was not much veggies in the fajitas. My son ordered the chicken nuggets. It was nothing special but it came with an ice cream dessert. The service was great but the quality was lacking for the price paid.

This is a great spot to eat good food, relax and enjoy family They accommodate for parties and special occasions. Family friendly and good location

Decided to try this place again for breakfast. Sadly, we were disappointed. They only serve their brunch on Sundays. You cannot order off of the menu. The only thing that was hot were the menudo and pozole. All other items were lukewarm. They make omelettes to order, and tacos. The Carne Asada was very chewy and had a very odd flavor to it. Service was slow. It was very quiet, not a lot of people inside. Also thought that for what was offered was overpriced at $27.99 per person. The drinks again disappointed ordered a tequila sunrise which was terrible. The champagne served with the brunch was not very good.

We went on taco Tuesday. We went at 5pm because we didn't know what time Taco Tuesday started but we learned it starts at 4pm. When we went there were only a couple other people there but it started filling up about 5:30 and by 6pm there was a wait. The staff who greeted us were very nice but once it started to get busy it was hard to get our waiter's attention for more drinks and tacos. We loved the Taco bar - you order the number of tacos you want from your waiter and they bring you a piece of paper you bring up to the bar. You can pick whichever meats you want - I did fish, al pastor, and asada and they were all delicious and they put a great amount of meat on each. You get to dress up your tacos however you like them which was a huge plus for our group since we all like our tacos very different. The margaritas were good but very very sweet. I'd love to see a Mangonada option. The asada super nachos were DELICIOUS! Definite must have. I would come back on a Tuesday as long as I have plenty of time. I'd also want to come back on another night and try the normal menu.

I came by to try out some breakfast. When I first arrived I was greeted and seated immediately. Upon arriving I noticed I had forgotten my wallet, but it was not a problem because the host told me they accept Apple Pay! Chips and salsa were complimentary. I ordered one cafe de olla and red chilaquiles. The cafe de olla was declicious! The red chilaquiles were also great, they came with rice beans and eggs. The chilaquiles are spicer than other restaurants I have been to which I enjoyed. The salsa had a very good and flavorful taste. I also saw that the chilaquiles were cut in smaller pieces, so I think they fry their tortillas in house rather than use pre made chips (appreciated!) I will definitely come again and give another item a try! Excited to have a go to spot for chilaquiles.

Ordered the albongios soup. Was horrible. Paid $18.00. So not worth it. The restaurant dirty and no A/C. I will never return.

I heard you also do brunch on Saturday, is this true?

Does Casita still offer outdoor seating?

    Not at this time

What is price for Sunday brunch?

Price for Sunday champagne brunch 25.99

    Do you take reservations?

Yes we do small parties or big parties … at busy times we don’t have any reservation , but call the restaurant and they will let you know

    What time is your brunch?

    Brunch is 9am-2pm Sunday only

Do you guys have bottomless mimosas on sunday still?

Yes we still offer complementary champagne . Margarita and bloody Mary’s and micheladas for 6 bucks

Is this restaurant offering family packs during covid?

    Good for large parties?

Only if it's not busy. They have small tables, so if they are busy, you have to wait until they can butt some tables together. I love the place, but I personally wouldn't take a party larger than 8-10

Bottomless mimosas are included in the brunch (Sundays only). Well worth it. The food is delicious. Arrive early.

Are they open for new years?

Hello, they are closed the 31st and 1st.

    Do they have bottomless mimosas?

    Yes:) on Sundays

The idea was to enjoy my coffee while getting organized--paying bills, planning calendar events, and having the opportunity to focus without any distractions from my usual surroundings. In search of the perfect spot, I turned to Yelp, a reliable resource for uncovering hidden gems nearby. Upon stepping into the coffee shop, I was immediately greeted with warm hospitality, setting the tone for a delightful experience. The ambiance of the place was truly captivating--it was bright and welcoming, infused with an aesthetic charm that instantly put me at ease. I couldn't help but be intrigued by the design elements throughout the shop, which added an inviting touch to its overall atmosphere. Before I settled in, I asked the staff if I could snap a few photos to capture the essence of this delightful space. They graciously welcomed my request, and I was shown to my table, which, quite uniquely, was designated by a number--a small detail that I found charming. As I browsed the menu, I encountered a small conundrum: I wasn't entirely sure what to order. I wanted to break the mold and try something out of the ordinary. My curiosity was piqued by their exclusive offering of Café de la Olla--a traditional hot drink that piqued my interest right away. I ultimately settled on a hearty plate that included rice, beans, and enticing potato tostones, accompanied by two beautifully cooked sunny-side-up eggs. As I waited for my order, I noticed the café was filled with the sweet sounds of old-school music from the '60s and '70s, which only enhanced the cozy ambiance while I sipped my drink. Now, let's talk about the food! I must say, I rated the café itself a solid 4 out of 5 for its overall charm, while the rice earned a respectable 4 out of 5. The beans were rich in flavor and received a fair 3.9 out of 5. The potato tostones, delicately bathed in a savory red sauce, stood out with an impressive score of 4.3 out of 5--these are a must-try if you visit! And as for the sunny-side-up eggs, they were good, but hey, eggs are eggs, right? Overall, the entire experience was quite enjoyable, from the delightful food to the warm atmosphere. A special shout-out goes to Ana, whose exceptional customer service made my visit even more memorable. The combination of fantastic service, inviting aesthetics, and satisfying food truly made for a perfect morning retreat. I can't recommend this spot enough for anyone looking for a relaxing place to unwind and focus on what matters.

I went on a taco run yesterday to try to find the best taco in Whittier…read more Started off the run with a keto taco mixed with asada and al pastor and then a regular tripa taco. Keto taco - toasted/grilled cheese instead of a regular tortilla - needed to be done a little more on one side as the cheese wasn't quite toasty enough to stay in place to slightly resemble the shape of a taco. Bit hard to eat, covered my hands in grease. Asada tastes almost boiled, and this being my 2nd or 3rd time getting the Asada here, it consistently tastes like it was boiled and not grilled. Unsure of meat quality or preparation, but there are no grill marks and it's a bit chewy. Same with the al pastor. Tripa taco was bizarre. Strips of flat skin instead of the usual roundish, cylindrical shape of tripa (intestine). Usually a saltier, fattier meat than asada, which is my preference but the one here was lacking in flavor and the texture threw me off a bit. Tripa can be chewy - unless requested extra done, which is how I normally order it - but there was no saving this tripa. I think it needs to be sliced differently, the cuts made it inedible. Brother shared some of his chorizo taco and it was the better of the bunch. Red chorizo, TJ style, although it was also lacking a teeny bit in flavor... onions and cilantro to the rescue! Still, mediocre. Salsas were ok, nothing out of the ordinary. Don't think the tortillas were homemade. Service was fine, cashier takes your order, dude at the counter was chill and had a friendly attitude. Seating was limited. Mostly bar style seating but the majority was in front of a window and it had so much heat trapped from the glass that it was kind of uncomfortable. Other seats are too close to the bathroom. Good for a quick bite or just pick-up orders. Wouldn't plan a sit down/dine-in visit. Parking is scarce and has really small spots, wouldn't come if you're driving a pick-up truck or anything like that. Food was reasonably priced, which is good, however; the food was lacking so I would not return.

A weekend brunch with friends brought me to Madre's Whittier, where the menu offered plenty of tempting options--and a few unexpected lessons about ordering seafood. I tried the Ensenada Omelet, loaded with shrimp, salmon, crab, and octopus. Now, I'm a seafood lover, but octopus and I aren't exactly close friends. I asked if it could be removed, but since the seafood mix is pre-made, the octopus had already RSVP'd to the party. The omelet was good, topped with a creamy sauce, but not something I'd order again. The crab appeared to be imitation crab, and while everything was prepared well, it just wasn't a standout for me. The real star? The strawberry pancakes. Delicious! Next time, I'd order those with a side of eggs and call it a win. I also sampled the chilaquiles, and now that's a dish I'd come back for. The Tiramisu Latte was another favorite--not overly sweet and packed with that classic tiramisu flavor I love. A special shoutout to our waitress, Annie, who was attentive, friendly, and made our brunch experience even better. My Verdict: Skip the Ensenada Omelet and build your brunch around the stars of the menu instead. The strawberry pancakes are the must-order item, the chilaquiles are a strong savory choice, and the Tiramisu Latte ties everything together. If you order wisely, Madre's delivers a brunch worth coming back for.
