Best Chilie Rellenos ever. The staff is great and friendly. Highly recommend. If you love good Mexican food, this is place

Love this place! Friendly staff, great service, and the food is delicious. One of our monthly go-tos.

Close up of the pollo picado over a side of chile relleno

I started a keto diet last week and my wife and I were shipping close by. We were both hungry and I suggested Senor Campos. But I quickly changed my mind because of my diet. My wife, who was now in the mood for Mexican, told me, "just think about what is keto friendly and make a dish..." OK, I thought chile relleno was good with cheese and an egg white batter. When I got to the restaurant, I ordered the pollo picado (diced chicken with bell peppers, onions and tomatoes) but substituted the rice and beans (which in my pre-keto life I loved!) for a side of chile relleno. I also ordered the albondigas soup (a meatball soup with zucchini and carrots and onions in a beef broth) as a starter since I couldn't indulge in the chips and salsa. Let me tell you, when I poured the diced chicken over the chile relleno it was AMAZING! The tomato sauce of the chile relleno was a perfect pairing for a savory and satisfying dish. I left pleasantly full and delighted with my new creation. In fact, I had to share it here. So if you're keto conscious and want a delicious Mexican alternative, try this dish. Oh, and if you don't care about carbs, then put it in a flour tortilla and make one helluva burrito...

The sign with happy hour

What a great spot. This place has been here for years, the menu says 50 to be exact. That's long enough to know it must be consistently good. I've been in the area half the time this place has been open and hadn't had the opportunity to give it a try. So here we go... The outside displays a sign that says Senor Campos but it also has a sign that mentions Tilly's lounge, so that created a little confusion. I stepped inside and was immediately greeted. There was a sign that mentioned a happy hour but I didn't see a bar. Soon after I was seated and provided with a menu, chips and salsa. The chips appeared to by pre purchased. The salsa had great flavor and possibly made in house. We started with a michelada and a margarita. The margarita was strong and tasty. The michelada was really good, surprisingly good as I hadn't had one that good in a while. We went with chile relleno and a wet burrito plates. Both were accompanied by tasty beans and fluffy rice. They both appeared to use the same sauce which was also very good. Smothered in cheese and soaked in sauce was not bad, the insides of each creation were very tasty. I would have each of these again. I asked for their hot salsa which added a spicy kick. Overall I do look forward to returning to partake in more of their menu options. FYI, I found the lounge/bar as I was walking out.

First time here Food: was not bad at all only the salsa bland to much tomato flavor could use onion and jalapeno. Service: was good just a little slow but it was busy Ambiance: not bad lighting was to low Overall would comeback

Their cup of bean soup is so creamy, delicious, and filling. I always order it even if that means that I can't finish my meal.

I've been coming here for over twenty years and my husband has been going there for over 45-years! I have always enjoyed their ambiance. It reminds me of restaurants when I was younger; kinda dark lighting, cozy booths, waitresses in ruffled dresses. My favorite time of year to visit is around Christmas because it's always decorated so pretty! I love their bean soup. It's creamy and delicious; sadly a cup of it leaves me unable to finish my meal, but I like leftovers so that's fine by me. It's a bit of drive for us to visit, but we're always happy when we make the effort!

Taquitos and fries

What happened to the steak fries?!‍ this was $20 with a side Unreal....do better! I was starving and annoyed rather quickly for receiving this.

Food and service is always great here. I've been a hungry patron here since I was about 9 years old.

The space was so aesthetically pleasing and incredibly vibey -- very Instagram-worthy without feeling overdone. The décor had gorgeous details everywhere, with greenery and hanging elements from the ceiling, warm lighting, and a layout that felt open and roomy while still cozy. You could tell a lot of love and effort went into designing the place. The food was delicious, the music was great, and the overall atmosphere made it such a nice spot to relax, hang out, and take it all in. It was one of those places where everything just worked -- the lighting, the vibe, the energy. We recently drove by and saw that it has closed permanently, which honestly made me really sad. It felt like they truly tried to create something special for the community, and it showed in the details. Grateful we got to experience it while it was open. It was a beautiful spot that will definitely be missed.

The food was delicious we ordered a little bit of everything so we can try and my favorite thing was the fried calamari. Even though the restaurant is small and busy, we were seated right away, which was a great start. Our waiter Washington, was fantastic, friendly, attentive, and made our whole experience even better. The atmosphere was perfect too. They had music playing at just the right volume and a big TV showing the live Dodger game, which the kids loved. We started with chips and salsa. The salsa had the perfect level of spice for everyone at the table. The kids ordered horchatas and were excited about the unlimited refills (something you don't always see at other restaurants!). The drinks for the adults were just as impressive. My wife's watermelon margarita on the rocks was perfectly made. It was not overly sweet or syrupy like at some places. Our friends had the "El Jefe" margaritas, and they definitely didn't skimp on the tequila! For dinner, everything was a hit. The kids loved their meals. Albóndigas soup, shrimp tacos, and street tacos--all served with rice and beans. The adult dishes were just as good. The carne asada arrachera was cooked perfectly, the chile verde was full of flavor, and my chicken mole was delicious with a great balance of spicy and sweet without being overwhelming. The portions were very generous, and everything came with rice, beans, and both corn and flour tortillas. The only small thing I would've preferred differently was the chicken in my mole. I personally would've liked a leg and thigh instead of sliced chicken breast but the dish was still very good overall. What really stood out was the hospitality. At the end of the meal, Washington offered us "holy water"-house tequila shots on the house--and it wasn't cheap tequila either! Then after the bill came, he surprised us again with another round of "holy water". That level of generosity and care really impressed us. We also learned that the restaurant has been there 20+ years and is family-run by him and his siblings, which made the experience feel even more personal. You can tell they have a loyal customer base--one couple even said, "See you tomorrow Washington!" The only feedback we'd offer (coming from a customer service background) is that we noticed a few guests waiting at the entrance without being greeted, and one couple actually left the restaurant. A simple "Welcome, we'll be right with you" would go a long way. That said, it didn't take away from our experience. Overall, amazing food, great service, generous portions, and a welcoming family atmosphere. We will definitely be back to try more of their menu!
