The food at Kings is fresh and literally homemade. Service is really good. I had the chorizo egg and bean with potato burrito. The chorizo is not the runny type if you're concerned it's longaniza pork. I ask for it well cooked. It tasted really good. I hardly don't eat burritos but I'll try it once and a big while. I couldn't wait to try this place because I love burritos and how could you lose with a place called King's burrito? I drove by here for 2 1/2 years before I finally found it open. This place is never open when it says it is. Today I thought I hit the jackpot and ordered a breakfast burrito with bacon. For $13 you would think there would be more than a half strip of bacon. The burrito was all boiled potatoes, very little eggs with no flavor at all. I asked for cheese, but there was almost no cheese. The burrito was big. The service was good. The guy was friendly, but the burrito had absolutely no flavor whatsoever. I'm so disappointed. There are too many other places to get a really good burrito where you can taste the bacon because they actually put some in. This burrito was as hot as the surface of the sun all the way down to the last bite, even after waiting for a while for it to cool. I ordered a Carne Asada Burrito and it was delicious. The burrito itself contained pinto beans, Mexican rice, cilantro, onions, and Asada. I also ordered two cabeza (beef head) tacos which lacked salt and had a little too many fatty pieces - BUT still good. The food came with a side of green salsa (mild) and my personal favorite, their red salsa (spicy)! My friend and I went on a Friday around 11am just before the lunch rush and there were only a couple of people there so the service was quick and the ambiance was chill. The service was great I had three different young gentleman ask us if we needed anything and kept checking up on me and my friend. I will definitely be back for another burrito ! My partner had the tripas burrito. My shrimp cocktail was okay, not bad, but not great. The burrito was excellent. Full of great flavors, beans and rice. We asked them for the hot salsa and the lady brought us three kinds: green, red, and a dark brown red. They were each delicious. But the hands down winner was the dark brownish red one. The lady called it 'salsa de aciete' or oil salsa because it was chile de arbol stepped in oil. Think of a spicier, toastier Chinese crisp. This tiny taqueria in La Habra is easy to miss if you are not specifically trying to search for it. Surprisingly, their menu board is quite comprehensive. Items include the usual: tacos, burritos, breakfast burritos, enchiladas, quesadillas, tortas, sopes, etc. They also prepare mariscos (seafood) and meat plates, and caldos (soups), including menudo on weekends. Good but limited carne (meat) choices. If you prefer braised meats over pan-fried - including the carne asada (beef steak) - you will like this place. The meats (so far, I only tried the chicken and beef) are flavorful and juicy. Everything is made-to-order - not already pre-made and sits under a heating lamp - and well plated with freshly sliced radishes, cilantro, diced onions, lime or lemon wedges and pickled jalapeno peppers. The one note-worthy menu item has to be the Torta Cubana ($11), which is absolutely humongous (can easily feed two people), meaty and delicious. Like all their menu items, it comes will a side of their salsa roja (red sauce), which gives the meats a nice spicy 'kick.' Crunchy, chewy, smoky and juicy, just a terrific sandwich. A hidden gem that is worth trying, particularly the tortas. There are a number of more established Mexican restaurants within walking distance. True hidden gem. Service was good. The owner is kind. Can be a bit blunt but he appears to deal with a good amount of crap. Burrito asada is puny here. I tasted too much tortilla so i pulled it apart to eat like a chicken bowl. Asada was really good. Asada didnt have too much salt which is my preference. the beans were nice. They had actual beans rather than the typical mashed up beans. This is good cause it wasnt watery. Pastor is amazing. Im a get a pastor burro next time. I had a pastor taco and it was typical size. The jalapeno dry pepper was dekush. You have to wait 30 sec then it kicks in. The chile was ok. Not too much spice. Might be commercialized. I couldnt tell. The location is west of walnut on the north block. Street parking. Look for the jesus lord sign. Basically right after u pass walnut blvd, park asap. If u pass northgate on the opposite side, u passed burro king. If u dont mind the mexican evangelical in the radio then eating in is good Value was bout average. I stopped into King's Burrito again today for lunch and had the best experience! They people who work here are so wonderfully friendly and the food was soooo good. I had a shrimp cocktail last time, that was sooooo huge the portions are great . It was packed with medium to large sized shrimp and everything tasted so fresh. Today I had a taquito plate and they were so nice to make me a 1/2 order :) I usually hit this place up on the week days since I work in the area but I want to bring my family here this weekend :) I will warn you this place is very humble but I love small family owned businesses and this is family owned and ran. Apparently the idea is if you order in Spanish you get great service and great food, I, unfortunately, do not speak Spanish. I've lived in La Habra for over 15 years and would always drive by this restaurant. I never stopped because I'm the type to use a drive thu since I'm always on the go. I ended up taking my mom to the beauty salon next door for a haircut and since I had time to spare and a big appetite, I ended up at King's. I was greeted by an older gentlemen. He was very courteous. I ordered a Torta Cubana, two carne asada tacos, and a Mexican Coke. The first thing that came to mind as I saw the torta was wow, it's huge! The taste was off the hook! Hands down the best torta I've ever had. I ended up eating only half because I got full. The tacos were good. Salsa was a bit spicy for my liking. I go once a week on my day off and order something different. It's been 5 weeks and have yet to eat something I haven't enjoyed. King's Burrito is the epitome of a "whole in the wall" food joint. It's a tiny little spot tucked in between larger businesses right on La Habra Blvd surrounded by plenty of other Mexican food spots. It's a bummer that they don't get much business because the food is amazing! When I lived in the area as a kid, my mom and I decided to try out every local Mexican food restaurant in search for the best Carne Asada burrito and King's Burrito won by far. They have authentic fresh food at really good prices. Don't be fooled by the interior, This place is great! And you can't beat the prices. They accept cash only so prepared. There usually isn't a wait as its often overlooked because of the countless larger restaurants around. I don't believe there's any seating inside (can't quite remember) but I'd recommend taking it to go anyways, the place is smaaaal. This is a local spot and has been around for years. The place needs major updating as far as cosmetic needs but the food is amazing. If you're into nachos, GET THEM HERE! The nachos supreme are amazing. They have every food choice you can imagine so you have a range to choose from. They also have bionicos, tosti locos, and diablitos here. Heard about this place from a coworker. I was told the tortas are very good. I got a torta cubana and man was it delicious. Its the size of a small football and contains a variety of meats and other toppings. I was hooked on the first bite, so good. It can definitely feed 2 people. My go to place for tortas for sure.
