Great brunch spot! They sometimes have a live mariachi band playing! How fun! The service is also good here. The only thing is that there's not too many people in the restaurant, not sure why if the ambiance is nice, food and service are good, and they've got a live band. More people should go!!

Delicious food, elegant ambiance for special occasions, friendly service (slow but friendly) Went for an early dinner. Shared the fajita ultimo. Big shrimp! Quality food. Didn't care too much for the salsa. Felt it lacked a bit of flavor. Cocktail menu didn't have prices, which bothers me for some reason. There is a happy hour on the bar side if you're interested.

It's a decent place , but I think food could be better , the ceviche is more like a tuna mix ,,they do have variety but don't spect that wow !!! Staff is very friendly and place is nice , if they can improved food , they could be in the right track

Hands down best Mexican food in the area. They've recently revamped their menu and it's delicious! Ambiance has always been great, fun spot with live entertainment & great staff. Definitely give it a try'.

Came here to celebrate Mother's Day with my elderly Mexican mom who loves Mariachi music. I called a few Mexican restaurants to see if they were going to have live mariachi's on Mother's Day and Perla Azul said yes. I quickly made a reservation. They also had a limited special Mother's Day menu for the occasion. The mariachi music was scheduled from noon to 3pm. The food was excellent and the music was wonderful. My mom was so excited when one of the mariachi singers came to our table and sang to her. The hostess was giving moms one red rose as they were seated. The restaurant is super nice is perfect for special occasions and dates. Now to the negative. The restaurant imposed a 90-minute time limit from the time you sat down. However, service was super slow and we waited a long time to get our food and our time limit was wasted because we waited for so long. Granted the music was good but they didn't offer chips and salsa and you had to order those separately. Unfortunately, they were not on the menu so I assumed they were going to bring them. When I finally asked, our food arrived. Once the food arrived, we were pleased with the portions and flavor. My mom loved the rice which was different than the tomato based version. The beans were a bit bland and needed more salt. The enchiladas suizas were flavorful and packed with chicken. The servers did refill our drinks a few times but you could tell they were busy with the other large parties that day. Lastly, they imposed a preset tip for only 3 people. Typically, I've seen the set tip amount for groups of 6 or more and it disappointed me that they did this for our little family. I didn't argue with them since it was Mother's Day and my mom had a good time. Not sure if they do this on non-holiday meals. Just be forewarned about this practice. I do plan to come back on a different day to see if their service is slow and if they add in the tip regardless of service.

We decided to give this place another try. Upon arriving the place smelled of cleaning products. They place was not too busy but did have a few large parties seated. I got the quesabirria tacos. The tacos themselves were okay but the consome was not it. My bf ordered the shrimp enchiladas and they looked okay. Their horchata and Jamaica is from a fountain and not made in house so I opted for a soft drink. The server was very friendly and attentive.

Nice place. Nice servers but the food was not all that good. I got quesabirria tacos and they were okay. The highlight to me was the coffee. Place is very pretty but the restroom stink even before u walk in. It's been like that since la Barca . Smells pretty bad

There is not a single ice cream spot that has knocked my socks off such as this place. What started as a night out with my wife, brother in law, and our friend turned into an amazing encounter with the amazing servers at Brusters that left a lasting impact on our families. We arrived to Brusters two days before Christmas, just in time to enjoy the holiday flavors. I had the egg nog and gingerbread and y'all, easily the most insane combination of ice cream I've ever had the privilege of enjoying. My wife had the salted caramel, and my brother in law enjoyed the NY cheesecake. My father in law eventually tried the egg nog and went on his own trip to try some. To everyone at that small red and white nook of an ice cream establishment deep in Whittier, you are doing an amazing job. Back when this shop opened, service was friendly and serving size was super giving. Especially when you come on days that the owners + their family are working. Now, it's disappointing to see how inconsistent the servings are and how non compliant their staff are when we raise the issue and question it. You can't make this up, we see customers order the same size "cup" as us and get larger portions than other customers who ordered the same, including me. You just never know what you'll get. Either a kid's scoop or a regular adult double scoop. I miss when the family visited more often and hired the hospitable workers. We purposefully went back to get another small cup and the photo itself literally shows both "small cup" and very clearly different portions...like what?

No basic courtesy, like we apologize for the inconvenience. When I got to the restaurant she rolled her eyes and took the food back in cold silence. The manager came out and again, no apology.
