Every visit here is consistently delicious! The food is amazing, but what really sets this place apart is the customer service. Ofelia was our server and she was so attentive and kind, making sure not only our table but everyone around us was well taken care of. The ambiance is great, and this spot never disappoints!

Easily one of the best cajun places ive been to. The shrimp taste decently fresh and their house sauce (some short of cajun) was pretty amazing. They give you a decent amount of sauce too. I had leftover sauce that i dipped my fries in. The calamari was decent, just too much breading. I could barely taste the calamari itself. It is a huge portion with fries though, so that's a plus. The best part is, they have gloves so you can keep your hands clean. Service here was good, they constantly checked in to see if i needed anything. Definitely will be back!

We opted to try this place once we were unable to add ourselves to the waitlist at boiling crab. There was no wait here, we were seated right away. We ordered a pound of shrimp each. They are unable to do half orders. We also got fries and garlic noodles to share. The garlic noodles were tasty but they were lacking some spice. The sauce the shrimp comes in was good but different than what I'm used to. The fries took longer than anything else to be ready so that was a little odd. We had plenty of leftovers and the server even offered a to go cup for my drink.

The BOMB clam chowder.

We had planned on going to another place after seeing Fiddler on the Roof at the nearby La Mirada Theater, but when we got there the menu didn't suit any of us. A few doors down was The Crab Shack, the menu looked good, so we went there. The atmosphere was fun and it smelled amazing. We ordered the soft shelled crab appetizer with onion rings, sweet potato fries, a burger and clam chowder. There were three soft shelled crabs, so perfect to share with the three of us. Crispy, juicy and flavorful, I'm still thinking of them. The onion rings and fries were delicious as well. The clam chowder was THE BEST we'd ever had!! And we are clam chowder eaters!! Real clams, in their shells, as well as large clams, celery and potatoes-sooo good! The burger was big, juicy and had bacon in the patty. I got two to go for hubs and son at home. The service was excellent, good suggestions from the server. Very nice establishment. I'm so thankful to have stumbled onto this little gem.

I was craving seafood boil and ask my friends to join me at crab shack. This was only 10 minutes from my house but I've never dined here until today. I'm not a huge fan of the other popular place (Boiling.....) because it gives me an upset stomach every time I go eat there. So I've decided to give this place a try. We got the number one combo which came with three items of your choice. The clams, shrimp and crawfish were all fresh. However, I wasn't a huge fan of their sauce. That's where my 3 stars come in. And the corn had zero sweetness but the sausage was good. We all enjoyed our margaritas and our server was very attentive. Not bad but the flavor wasn't too exciting and felt it was missing a key ingredient.

The food here is delicious, but the restaurant appears to be understaffed. My buddy and I were waiting in line outside to get a table for what appeared to be approximately 15-20 minutes - which we found odd, as we could see inside the restaurant, and we were able to see not one but *two* tables that appeared to already be cleaned and ready for us to be seated (there was only 1 party ahead of us in line). I'm still not entirely sure why they made us wait outside for so long when they could have just seated us as soon as we got into line. After we were seated, it still took quite an unusually long while for us to get our order taken - this is not necessarily a criticism against the servers, as the two servers we saw appeared to constantly be hustling and did not appear to be dilly-dallying at any point (although I could almost swear our primary server seemed to be deliberately avoiding eye contact with us when we were trying to get her attention). A 3rd server would really have been beneficial while we were dining there (even if that would have resulted in higher menu pricing) - who knows, maybe there *was* supposed to be a 3rd server, and they called in sick that night. Luckily, after our order was finally taken, our food was served with great rapidity. Did I mention the food was delicious? In any case, if you don't mind a potentially long (and seemingly unnecessary) wait to get in here and get your order taken (along with less than comfortable seating), I think it's still worth the visit.

Menu was varied and interesting with some specialties, sandwiches, and salmon. Prices were fair for these times. I had the strawberry goat cheese salad and the baked dinner rolls with sweet butter. Enjoyed it all. My husband had the burger with fries. He said both were very good. I'd like to try the bacon crusted salmon or the gnocchi next time. We did not have dessert. Service was friendly, helpful, and efficient. This is a tiny gem in Uptown. They've been open about a year. I hope people will discover and enjoy it like we did. But I've learned that if I order my steaks rare or even blue rare at a place not known for their steaks, it comes out to the desired medium rare I wanted all along. Such was the case tonight. I asked for rare but it came out closer to medium rare--maybe even dipping into medium. No big whoop. The baseball steak was still juicy and delicious. The fries were still great shoestring. And I can live with a chimichurri sauce instead of the preferable hollandaise or bearnaise these usually come with. I just wish I could actually ask for a medium rare and get medium at a food joint other than where it costs me $60 or $70 a cut. The service was good. She was pleasant and quick on her feet. The ambience was good. It was a quaint space and had a lot of charm. I can't say it was too full but I attribute that more to the day being full of sporting events like the World Cup and some silly NBA thing than an actually critique of the restaurant. Subsequently, I found this a good place for dinner but not superb and I found myself wondering when the next like fate might bring me here.

Several menu items have changed since I last reviewed. They did add an escargot appetizer. basically little bite size portions of escargot swimming in butter. If you've never had escargot it is tasty and this dish is small enough for sampling. if you like cream corn theirs is legendary and every plate comes with yorkshire pudding. It's basically a British style puffed bread similar to a croissant but it's cooked with eggs instead of butter and it's in the shape of a muffin. it works well with soaking up the sauce. But it acts more like a garnish than an actual part of the meal. and of course you do have to save room for dessert. Their desserts are really nice and worth sampling. if you're lucky you can get a table by the window with some nice views of OC. Still a nice place for a birthday or a family gathering but it works better as a date night place. If you are a young guy trying to impress your date this is the kind of place you want to take her to.

Unfortunately, compared to many other steakhouses and restaurants I've visited, Summit House fell a little short. We ordered the: 1. French Onion Soup Gratinee 2. Bone Marrow Mac & Cheese 3. Chesapeake Bay Style Crab Cakes 4. House Cut Prime Rib 5. Chef Tim's Truffle Fries The complimentary bread was a little dry, which wasn't the best start to the meal. The French Onion Soup and Crab Cakes were decent, but nothing particularly memorable. I was especially looking forward to the Bone Marrow Mac & Cheese, but it didn't impress me. I've had much better bone marrow at other restaurants. As for the House Cut Prime Rib, it was okay, but not the best I've had. The truffle fries were ok, but again, nothing that stood out. On a positive note, the service was great! The staff was attentive and professional, and you can tell this is a well-established restaurant that's been around for quite some time. It has that classic, old-school steakhouse atmosphere, and the restaurant is quite spacious, making it a good option for larger gatherings, birthday celebrations, or family dinners. The view was alright, but nothing particularly spectacular despite the restaurant the Golf Course view. I was expecting a little more given how much the location and views are highlighted. Overall, I can understand the appeal if you live nearby and want a nice dinner without having to travel far. However, I'd personally rather drive a little farther for a better meal. For a birthday celebration that required a 45-minute drive, I was hoping for something a little more memorable. The service was definitely the highlight, but the food itself didn't live up to my expectations. Glad I gave it a try, but I'm not sure if I would make a special trip back.
