I like the exposed ceiling. Everything feels clean. I did see someone wipe their nose as they were refilling the ice and that was gross. The owner said he will addressed the issue with that person. WARNING TO EVERYONE!! I will never go to this restaurant again bc of the horrible attitude of the owners. My silverware smelled like food so I asked for hot water to sanitize it. They tried to charge me $1.50 for a cup of hot water after I spent almost $100 dollars. Read all the negative comments first, and then you'll know what I mean. This place will verbally fight you to the bone, not the employees but the owners themselves husband and wife. If you complain about as little as something like why was I charged for a hot cup of water or anything, the owner will verbally argue with you over it. Let me tell you, my experience and my daughter's experience with this restaurant, we left there traumatized. Why? Because we politely asked why we were charged for a hot cup of water. First, the wife came to our table with a bad attitude, talked to us about the charges, and then the husband came over to our table with the same attitude and that's when everything went bad. "I let my daughter handle the defense using logic with them and she did a good job." She explained well and clearly to them but on the other hand, the owner's husband and wife would not stop arguing with us.  My daughter and I were so embarrassed by the way they acted in front of their other cutomers that were looking and listening to their argument about us. They don't have any shame whatsoever! The argument didn't go anywhere bc these owners' husband and wife will not back down, or stop arguing. They will keep going until we are completely drained. They even told us not to come back. "Duh", who would come back to that place? So we paid, they took out the charge $1.50 for the hot cup of water, and guess what, we even gave them a decent tip despite what happened - that's our donation for their anger management therapy. "So, there you have it, folks" That's our experience with Our Nest restaurant and the horrible owner's husband and wife. Upon our return and ordering something with eggs, our nest has sold me into hopefully becoming a semi-regular. From the refillable drip to their specialty lattes, the menu.. I can't wait to come back and try their burritos, sammiches, bowls and everything else I can get my grubby hands on. The omelette was properly fluffy with generous mushrooms, if that's what you'd choose. The roast of choice comes toasted and buttered. There's also a little tiny side salad that I thoroughly enjoyed. I'd been to their Fullerton eatery and enjoyed it so, when the opportunity arose, I jumped at the chance to meet a friend and go eat at this location with the intent of having breakfast for lunch. The interior of this place is much larger than Fullerton and, upon entering, were told to sit anywhere we desired. Just outside the entrance they had a board proclaiming their specials of the day. After looking over the many options on the menu I opted to order a special I spotted on that board: raspberry & lemon curd french toast! While awaiting my meal I ordered a cup of regular ol' black coffee. Believe me when I say that cup of coffee was a fantastic one; they have superb coffee here. My french toast was amazing. Thick-cut & fried brioche bread with a magnificent exterior crunch yet soft inside, served with lemon curd and raspberry puree along with a dollop of homemade whipped cream. Definitely award-winning french toast. My friend, a vegetarian, ordered a different french toast and was envious of mine. Hers was a bit mushy and came with a side of bacon and sausage which she promptly handed over to me. The sausage was very flavorful and the bacon was meaty, simultaneously crisp and chewy, and very much appreciated by me. It seems like this place has been going downhill over my last few visits, and I don't see myself returning. Today, we came in as a party of three, and even checking in was a mess. The host never put my name down, and another staff member tried to help seat people but didn't know who to call next because he only had a list of numbers to go off. It felt disorganized right from the start. Once we were seated, our server took our order quickly, but when the food came out, only two of the three dishes arrived. I waited about 10-15 minutes before I got our server's attention about my plate. She eventually found it and brought it out which could have been avoided if the server checks on their tables. The only time anyone came to our table was to drop off the check and clear plates. No one checked in to see how the food was or if we needed refills. Every time I come here, I feel like I have to track someone down just to get help. Unfortunately, this isn't a one-time issue. On our visit last month, they forgot one of our dishes entirely and also missed adding avocado to my BLTA. I understand that mistakes happen, but at this point, the inconsistency and lack of organization feel like a pattern. Imagine by confusion when I arrived and I was confused about where I was supposed to meet up with my friend for brunch. Not sure if all these businesses are operated by the same family, but just be aware of which door you need to go into. Hahaha Our Nest is super cute inside - the decor is modern and has an open and relaxing ambiance. There is a separate area in the front that would be good for larger parties or special gatherings. I like that their menu has so much variety! From breakfast burritos to steaks, and benedicts to bowls. I think they have a collab with something called Rudy's because they have a list of Mexican items that take up half the menu on the back. If you want some brunchy cocktails and bubbles, they have those too! They are kid friendly with various kids meal options available. There's truly something for everyone here! My friend enjoyed the chilaquiles burrito and I had the B.A.B.S Bowl. Both of our dishes were good. The burrito came with something called menguiche which we initially thought was sour cream, but turns out it was a cheese based sauce. For some reason I thought the base of my B.A.B.S bowl was going to be quinoa, but it was essentially a spinach salad with chicken, eggs, and a variety of veggies. The quinoa was just sprinkled on top as a garnish. The dish was colorful, fresh and tasty - everything I like on a plate. We had a couple servers who would come by to help us, so it was a team effort to get us everything we wanted and needed. SERVICE (4/5): Came on a weekday morning for breakfast so it was empty. No one at the hostess desk when you walk in because the foot traffic is so light during the weekdays. But they are keeping an eye out and prompt on greeting & seating everyone that walks in. Quick to take orders and check to make sure all the food is ok and you don't need anything further. FOOD (4/5): I've only been to the PLACENTIA location, which I absolutely loved! But they closed it so I've been dying to try the Brea location! $8 LA REINA LATTE (+$0.75 for OAT MILK): this is the most popular latte. It's a Spanish latte, very delicious! Can't go wrong ordering this! $16 BREAKFAST TAQUITOS: this wasn't my favorite dish here. I know there's a ton of better options, but I just really felt like taquitos. It's filled with turkey chorizo (slightly dry). It comes with some avocado salsa and green salsa on the plate. The green salsa isn't enough for the 4 taquitos being served, they let you order more salsa for (+$1 extra), which is cheap given the delicious homemade salsa, but I think more should be included with the dish. The eggs are FRESH! The yolks were so orange, which you know means the freshest ingredients! $23 LOCO MOCO: a solid dish! The GRAVY IS SO GOOD! The most important part of the dish is the gravy! Served over fried rice with fresh eggs, this was a perfect dish. OVERALL (4/5): I ordered wrong here getting the breakfast taquitos. BUT, I love this restaurant because they use the freshest ingredients and take great quality in their food. This will be in my rotation of top breakfast spots in the area. I first tried Our Nest when they were at their Fullerton location, which has since closed--so I was a little bummed. Luckily, I found out they opened a new spot in Brea, and I was excited to check it out. I ordered the Wedge Salad, which was good overall, but it came with a bit too much ranch dressing and ended up soaking a lot of the salad. In hindsight, I probably should've asked for the dressing on the side. I also wasn't a big fan of the bacon bits--they were dry and not very crispy. Next time, I'd likely skip those and ask for extra fried onions instead. It's also like $22 which I think is a little pricey for a block of lettuce. My boyfriend ordered the veggie omelette, which came with a crispy hashbrown that I enjoyed. At first, he thought another side was included and chose mini pancakes, but later found out they were an extra $3. It would've been helpful if that upcharge was mentioned ahead of time. Cute spot-busy on a Sunday for brunch at 11am. Glad we made a reservation. They were unfortunately out of gluten free bread so I got my omelet with corn tortillas-which were great. THE FOOD & VALUE The brunch food is okay--average to slightly above average at best--but it is definitely not good enough to justify the high prices or the consistently long wait times. Every single time I've visited, the food has come out late. If the food was Gordon Ramsay-level, I might be willing to tolerate the rest of the experience, but it isn't. THE SERVICE: The front-of-house organization is a mess. I've had the host give my spot away to other people simply because they forgot I was waiting. The servers often times look incredibly stressed out, especially on the weekends, which just adds to the chaotic environment. THE OWNERSHIP The biggest issue here is the owners. The customer service from ownership is outright terrible. Out of the several times I've eaten here, I've personally witnessed the owners getting into altercations with customers twice. Once is a red flag, but twice shows a clear pattern where the customer isn't the problem. Keep in mind, this isn't their first attempt at a restaurant, and their previous spot had the exact same customer service issues. You would think they'd have figured it out the second time around. My friend and I came here on a Sunday morning and were sat down promptly. I've come here in the past, and the diner itself was very busy and bustling, as per usual, but the volume was also not overwhelming either. We were given some time to review the menu - which we needed since there were so many different options here! - while they brought our drinks. Not sure if they have assigned tables that they help, but it was a little funny getting asked the same questions by multiple different people. Our server was very friendly and went over their seasonal menu, which is where we learned about their apple cobbler/pie French toast!! My friend went ahead and ordered this, and let me tell you, this French toast was absolutely amazing if you're fixing for a sweet but savory meal. The toast was fluffy and crisp and the apples were at a nice gooey stage, and to top it off, it comes with a side of maple syrup and vanilla whipped cream! Definitely the star of the show here. I usually err on the side of savory for breakfast and after much deciding I ordered the Popo toast. The bread was similarly fluffy but crispy, and at first the carnitas on top may have been a bit overwhelming, but that's when the avocado and pico de gallo come in and help brighten and smooth out each bite. Every dish I've had here has been excellent. I'm working my way through the menu. The service is professional and the presentation of the food is perfect. I like the variety of the extensive menu and I'm surprised they can keep the quality so high on every dish. You will not be disappointed. The menu prices do seem high for the area. We've been here three times for breakfast in the past couple of months. They do not disappoint. The wait has been a bit long at times, but always worth it. The churro french toast, amazing!! And the added bonus.. they have a full bar! All the food I've tried here has been fantastic. You can't really go wrong ordering food. The wine selection is nice as well. They have several options for sparkling, whites and reds. They are always trying out new cocktails for those into that. Unfortunate is the word that comes to mind. We won't be back and I cannot recommend this place. The main issues are the owners who are willing to burn a patron over their own pride and throw service out the window. There's no dedicated server and instead multiple people (four in our case) randomly take orders, ignore you, or interrupt throughout the meal. This chaotic system led to duplicate orders and a ridiculous confrontation at the end over hashbrowns. When we had questions about the bill for food we never received, the owner stepped in and immediately escalated the situation with our dads on Father's Day all over a $5 side of hashbrowns. I've never seen this combative attitude by any restaurant owner in my entire life. The food itself was mostly good (minor issues aside) but nearly everything is an unadvertised extra (even $0.50 for salsa on tacos). We wanted to love it, but left shaking our heads after spending $250. Save yourself the money and the headache. I've seen the owner attacking other honest reviewers, which only proves the point and I'm sure you'll see below. Ordered: - Popo Toast (5/5): second time getting popo toast and it's still solid! The toast was softer this time around whereas last time it was pretty tough and hard to slice, so we appreciated it. The pico de gallo cut through the heavier avocado and carnitas flavors with some citrusy notes which unexpectedly works for the dish. I got my eggs over easy because I love breaking the egg over the toast so everything soaks in the flavor of the yolk and it was delicious! - Berry Burrata with Tots on the side (4/5): A surprisingly light sandwich. Definitely a more lunch vibe than brunch. The cold cuts by themselves are a bit salty but once you pair the arugula, blueberry jam, and burrata with it, it becomes a lot more cohesive. The bread was nice and soft which I appreciate too because it made it super easy to bite into it. We had it after the popo toast so the bread had cooled down by then but it was still good. One note we had though is we wish the bread itself had a bit more flavor to it like some of the focaccia we've had elsewhere. As for the jam, it wasn't too sweet which I enjoyed! I'm not a tot person but my gf is and the tots we got with this was perfectly fried. Super crunchy and not oily at all, there's little more in a tot i could ask for! This was our first time dining at this restaurant, and we were really looking forward to the experience. The hostess was very friendly, and both our waiter and waitress were welcoming and attentive throughout our visit. Unfortunately, we encountered several issues with the food. We ordered the dry-aged ribeye ($55) and requested it be cooked medium. When it arrived, it was clearly medium-rare. We informed our server, who promptly took the steak back to be cooked further. While we appreciated her assistance, this was our first issue with the meal. The second issue involved the French toast, which was overly fried and much darker than expected. We politely asked whether it could be replaced with a regular French toast that was not overcooked. Our server told us she would need to speak with the manager. When the manager came to our table, his demeanor immediately felt hostile. He asked what we wanted to do, and we simply explained that we hoped the overly fried French toast could be replaced. Instead of addressing our concern professionally, he told us, "Next time, please don't do this again." His tone, facial expression, and body language came across as angry, dismissive, and unwelcoming. The most disappointing part of the experience was the manager's attitude. Rather than showing concern for the customer experience, he appeared arrogant and unwilling to accept feedback about the food. We were not asking for anything unreasonable. The restaurant had already made an error with the ribeye, and all we requested was that it be cooked to the temperature we originally ordered. Likewise, we simply asked for a replacement of an overly fried French toast. As paying customers, we expect to be treated with courtesy and respect when concerns arise. No customer should feel uncomfortable or be made to feel like they have done something wrong for politely bringing legitimate food quality issues to the restaurant's attention. The hostess, waiter, and waitress were all friendly and professional, and we appreciate their efforts. Unfortunately, the manager's attitude and handling of the situation overshadowed the positive aspects of our visit and left us with a very negative impression of the restaurant. --------------------------- Originally I left 3 stars but after owner's response I switched to 1 star I'm quite disappointed with the owner's response. There were only three of us in our party, and only one of my friends had previously visited your Fullerton location before it closed. We clearly mentioned that this was our first time dining at this location. Regarding the ribeye, the waiter addressed and resolved the issue immediately. Since the matter was already taken care of, there was no reason for us to bring it up again afterward. We were not there looking for free food. If we could not afford the meal, we would not have ordered a $55 ribeye in the first place. We also mentioned multiple times that the churro French toast was overly fried. However, we were repeatedly told that this was your signature style. Because you were being kind and accommodating, we eventually said not to worry about replacing it. I believe you then felt bad about the situation and offered a replacement anyway. To be clear, we paid for the $23 churro French toast. The replacement French toast was offered by you as a courtesy. Just because we were not satisfied with some of the food does not mean my friends and I needed to leave the restaurant immediately. The purpose of a girls' brunch is to spend time together, catch up on life, and enjoy each other's company, in addition to having a meal. I would appreciate it if you could be more respectful and understanding toward your customers. I've been here twice now. The first time was a 5/5 and everything was on point. I raved about it and decided to come a second time. Unfortunately, it did not meet expectations this time around. I feel like the servers were not aware of who had our table. We had to ask for everything while the other servers checked on the two tables to our sides. The food was great during both visits. We discovered this hidden little gem today and wow, the food was outstanding. I had the ham Benedict, perfectly cooked and full of flavor, and my husband had the carnitas machaca hash, which was just as impressive and generously portioned. The atmosphere felt welcoming and cozy, and the customer service was genuinely great, friendly, attentive, and fast. It is always nice when a place makes you feel taken care of without being rushed. They also have a full bar, which makes us excited to come back and try dinner next time. Highly recommended, we will definitely be back. read more

I love Brunch! Over the years, I've continued to try out numerous places with family and friends. Sooo glad to have come across Our Nest! The first time I had it was for take out and enjoyed it very much. Today, my best friend took me here to celebrate my birthday. We were seated right away and they even provided a high chair for her baby. I ordered the French Toast A-Aron Stack with scrambled eggs, bacon, and hashbrown. I requested to have the condensed milk, powdered sugar, and syrup on the side so I can control how much I wanted. Out of the many French toasts I've had in OC, this is by far my favorite! The texture and flavor are just perfect, spot on. I could seriously eat this everyday! They give a great amount of food where you can take some home but I devoured it all and enjoyed every bite. I can't wait to return again and will be taking all my loved ones here to try it :) read more

Our Nest is such a great local spot! The ambiance is chill and inviting, the food is delicious, and the service is fantastic. You can tell the owners take pride in their business and food. Husband had the chile verde, and it was absolutely off the hook. I grew up on eating loco moco," so any chance I get to try someone else's I will. I can really appreciate the chef's spin on elevating a classic comfort dish. The Spam fried rice was incredible, paired with the traditional hamburger patty, gravy and fried egg. I even loved the addition of spinach--it almost made me feel like I was eating healthy! They also offer a beautiful dinner menu Thursday through Saturday, plus a full bar, which makes it a great place for both casual meals and date nights. My only gripe is that they're not open for dinner on Tuesdays and Wednesdays because I'd definitely be there more often. If you haven't tried Our Nest yet, do yourself a favor and check it out. Here for brunch on the 24th, and surprisingly that it's not crowded at all due to the rain I suppose? Very spacious, and welcoming envir. I ordered the steak and egg, and the steak was done just right!! We also had the French toast with egg and becan, the french toast was so soft, and was great! Food was fine but overpriced... What bothered me was that we were charged for warm water with lemon on a colder day and that was just added on the tab. Also, they ask you to put away your own water bottle if you put it on the table. read more
