We hosted a dinner here at Chachas, and the service was amazing from start to finish. Jennifer, the event coordinator, made the entire scheduling process so easy and stress-free. When we arrived, everything was already set up, and the buffet was ready for our group. Christen and Rebecca were our servers, and they were incredibly professional, polite, and an absolute pleasure throughout the evening. Jennifer also made rounds during the event to make sure everything was going smoothly, which we really appreciated. The food was fantastic! We ordered from the preset menu and went with tacos and enchiladas -- everything was delicious. The ceviche was a huge hit, while the carnitas and steak tacos were definitely crowd favorites. We dine at Cha Cha's Latin Kitchen in Brea frequently. We usually dine inside, but it was such a nice evening that we chose to dine on the open-air covered patio this time. We love their chips and salsa. The complementary chips were very fresh, and both the red and green salsas have a medium heat level. We also always enjoy their grade size margaritas. They are not boozy, but definitely pack a punch. I usually have the mango-habanero margarita ordered extra-spicy, but I felt like trying something new, so I tried the Tamarindo Margarita (El Jimador 100% Blue Agave, Ancho Reyes Chili Liqueur, Squirt, tamarindo, fresh lime, grande size $27). It was good, but was a little on the sweet side, and I barely got any heat. I'll go back to my mango-habanero next time. She had their limited time pineapple-poblano margarita (grande size $27). This was an off-menu special offering. It was excellent, with a great mix of fresh pineapple and a light heat and pepper flavor from the poblano. It was perfectly balanced and the sweetness was very light. I was jealous and wish I had ordered this also. We happened to visit on Thursday night which is fajita night. The deal starts at only $20 for veggie fajitas, with various proteins available for an additional cost. I had the steak fajitas ($27), and she had the achiote grilled chicken breast fajitas ($22). The meal starts with a big Mexican Caesar salad. It was very good, with the perfect amount of dressing, it was very filling. The picture doesn't do it justice, it is a large salad. The proteins arrive sizzling hot in a cast iron skillet. Our dishes had a generous amount of steak and chicken on top of a bed of peppers and onions. I got flour tortillas and she got corn. It's nice that they give you four warm tortillas wrapped in a cloth napkin. Most places usually only give you three. The standard meal comes with beans and rice but we both opted for all rice. The rice was barely warm, but we were already pretty stuffed so we barely touched it. Our server Nicole was great. She was very friendly and provided great service. My girlfriend only had a few bites of her salad and wanted to take the rest home. When they delivered our two fajita orders, spread across eight plates, they inadvertently took her salad away. Nicole made it right and brought her a full salad in a to-go box and bag. Excellent service! They often run a summer promotion where purchasing $100 in gift cards includes two additional $20 bonus gift cards. Hopefully this deal will come again soon. I opted for the Shrimp Ceviche after an entire day of eating. It was more on the Tomato Side and there was a kick from the black pepper. I wish it was a little lighter but I still loved the flavor. The carne asada, amazing as always. The potatoes are just the perfect crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. We also were given the flan and churros for dessert. The flan was our favorite. I've never tried flan this good before. I really liked the texture of it. The churros were delicious. She said it was pretty strong, so props for that haha. We stuck to the appetizer menu and went with a steak quesadilla and a shrimp ceviche. The Quesadilla was amazing: tons of queso, poblano chilis, and the steak was so juicy. You could really taste every ingredient in this thing. If we go back, I would definitely order it again. The ceviche was my fiancé's favorite, tasty shrimp, peppers, and avocado in a bomb orange/lime juice. I had to stop her from straight up slurping it up like a soup. She was a big fan, and she orders ceviche often. This was our first visit to Cha Cha's and we really enjoyed it. We've seen it a bunch of times while in downtown Brea, so we thought we'd give it a try, and I guess we've been missing out! The restaurant is nicely decorated and it has a large outdoor patio area if you want to sit outside. We had two carne asada plates, one with roasted potatoes and the other with sautéed calabasitas plus a grilled salmon plate with roasted potatoes. The carne asada was delicious and full of flavor. The fresh chimichurri on top added a really nice brightness to the dish, and the poblano peppers and roasted peppers paired so well with the meat. The roasted potatoes were also excellent and had a great texture and flavor that completed the plate perfectly. The salmon was cooked well and went nicely with the roasted potatoes, although it was a little sweeter than I personally prefer. Still, the quality and preparation were good. So I decided to give this place a shot with my group of friends today 4/5/26 Easter Sunday. You may ask why such a low score. Well for starters it had nothing to with the staff. They did an exceptional job. 5 stars for them being able to accommodate a party of 6. The low score was strictly for the food. My main entrée I chose the carnitas plate which came with rice and beans. Those carnitas were dryer than the Mojave desert. They also lacked any type of seasoning. Very disappointing. The rice and beans I mean were nothing special. The flour tortillas were good tho. At least I wasn't the only one experiencing this in my group. We all agreed the food was terrible. Even the margarita my friend had was terrible. The best way I can describe the food here, is like eating Taco Bell and paying triple the price. Awful! Chacha's Mexican Restaurant is so good. I got the salmon plate and it was amazing cooked perfectly and full of flavor. Just a heads up though, it does have a slight sweetness to it, so if you're not into sweet-ish flavors it might surprise you. Personally, I loved it because it was different from the usual and really well done. Definitely coming back to try more items on the menu. The customer service is good too. My friend and I ended up stopping for dinner here on our way home from LA. We really didn't expect much, but to our surprise it was pretty good. The service was excellent. The drinks are freaking delicious. I got the cucumber margarita and my friend got the watermelon, they were refreshing and mixed well. I had the enchiladas trio and she had the carne asada tacos. My husband had the spicy guava margarita which he seemed to enjoy. I had a few sips and it was definitely flavorful. The shrimp and calamari were cooked nicely and came with two sauces. The crema is what I reached for the most. The shrimp ceviche salad was a little overwhelming as it was super acidic (which is funny because ceviche, lol) but it was originally my husbands order and he couldn't finish it. The chicken tostada was good but it could be better. The dressing was a little bland. The "tostada" is basically a fried tortilla hidden underneath the salad. It was just basic. The torta was also just okay. Nothing too memorable. Enjoyed the chips and salsa though. The restaurant itself is aesthetically pleasing and clean. The service was decent. Large and spacious restaurant. We arrived at 1 pm on a Thursday. We were given a choice of patio or inside seating. We were told that if we sat inside, we can choose from the Happy Hour menu. If we choose to sit outside, we could not do so. Naturally, we chose to sit inside. We were immediately served fried tortillas and two kinds of salsa. The tortillas were fresh and crispy and the salsas (green and red) paired it perfectly. I ordered the shrimp and crab enchilada plate and my friend ordered three tacos (carnitas, shrimp and beef) from the Happy Hour menu. For some reason, the server misheard me and thought I ordered a shrimp taco and one crab enchilada. So, when my order arrived, I told him that I was supposed to get two pieces of shrimp and crab enchilada instead of one. Unfortunately, my friend already ate the shrimp taco, thinking it was her order. In any case, they brought her three tacos and my extra crab enchilada. They took out the shrimp taco from the bill. The enchilada was packed with crab. It was delicious! My friend really liked her tacos. We were both happy campers. I was so looking forward to this meal and it did not disappoint.
