The tacos and the nachos were so yummy!! The wings were also a hit on the table. We came on a Tuesday so we had to get tacos! The menu had a wide selection to choose from. I liked the inside or the resturant and the music nice. Idk if the day or time we went was busy or not but the service was not good. We felt neglected and had to ask for the same thing over and over again. I also felt somewhat ignored, maybe the waiter was overwhelmed but Idk. I don't know if I would come again to be honest but it was nice to try.
Treated a friend to a birthday lunch here since she loves Mexican food. We both ordered the crab and shrimp enchiladas and they were tasty. My one complaint is that the enchiladas were only luke warm and I had even asked for them to be sure they were extra hot since I've experienced this before. In my opinion, the quality of their food is not as good as it used to be, which is very disappointing since this used to be one of our favorite places to go for Mexican food. The service however is still top notch here.
We got back there to celebrate our Anniversary at ChaCha. Almost same, the menu was same, nothing was changed. I heard the owner passed away last year. We met and talked to him during our lunch last year. The service, foods, price are all great. I feel comfy whenever I am here to enjoy my enchilada w flautas. I was full and left my stomach for the complementary dessert, Flan au caramel. Everything was good today. But we were so sad to hear about the owner. They have lots of promo by day, weekend brunch, happy hour.... Good location to hang out in the downtown Brea.
The food here is so good! I came during lunch and ordered off the lunch menu. I got the Mix & Match, which lets you choose two items. I went with the chicken enchilada and chicken flautas, and it came with rice and beans. For $14, it was definitely a win. The portion was surprisingly generous, more like a regular sized meal than the typical smaller lunch portion. Everything was flavorful. I'm also a chips and salsa person, and their chips and salsa did not disappoint. I'll definitely be back.

The Carne Asada was nothing like I expected - it was much better. The steak was tender and topped with a delicious chimichurri sauce. As someone who loves chimichurri, I can confidently say this was one of the best chimichurri steaks I've had. I requested it cooked medium, and it came out exactly right with a nice sear on the outside and a slightly pink center. The nachos were interesting because they weren't assembled the typical way. Instead of piling all the toppings on top, each chip was individually topped, so every bite had a little bit of everything. It was a thoughtful presentation, although the overall flavor was just okay compared to the steak. The restaurant itself is much larger inside than it appears from the outside, with plenty of seating and a comfortable atmosphere. Service was friendly throughout our visit. Overall, the Carne Asada alone is worth coming back for.
We dine at Cha Cha's Latin Kitchen in Brea frequently. We usually dine inside, but it was such a nice evening that we chose to dine on the open-air covered patio this time. We love their chips and salsa. The complementary chips were very fresh, and both the red and green salsas have a medium heat level. We also always enjoy their grade size margaritas. They are not boozy, but definitely pack a punch. I usually have the mango-habanero margarita ordered extra-spicy, but I felt like trying something new, so I tried the Tamarindo Margarita (El Jimador 100% Blue Agave, Ancho Reyes Chili Liqueur, Squirt, tamarindo, fresh lime, grande size $27). It was good, but was a little on the sweet side, and I barely got any heat. I'll go back to my mango-habanero next time. She had their limited time pineapple-poblano margarita (grande size $27). This was an off-menu special offering. It was excellent, with a great mix of fresh pineapple and a light heat and pepper flavor from the poblano. It was perfectly balanced and the sweetness was very light. I was jealous and wish I had ordered this also. We happened to visit on Thursday night which is fajita night. The deal starts at only $20 for veggie fajitas, with various proteins available for an additional cost. I had the steak fajitas ($27), and she had the achiote grilled chicken breast fajitas ($22). The meal starts with a big Mexican Caesar salad. It was very good, with the perfect amount of dressing, it was very filling. The picture doesn't do it justice, it is a large salad. The proteins arrive sizzling hot in a cast iron skillet. Our dishes had a generous amount of steak and chicken on top of a bed of peppers and onions. I got flour tortillas and she got corn. It's nice that they give you four warm tortillas wrapped in a cloth napkin. Most places usually only give you three. The standard meal comes with beans and rice but we both opted for all rice. The rice was barely warm, but we were already pretty stuffed so we barely touched it. Our server Nicole was great. She was very friendly and provided great service. My girlfriend only had a few bites of her salad and wanted to take the rest home. When they delivered our two fajita orders, spread across eight plates, they inadvertently took her salad away. Nicole made it right and brought her a full salad in a to-go box and bag. Excellent service! They often run a summer promotion where purchasing $100 in gift cards includes two additional $20 bonus gift cards. Hopefully this deal will come again soon. We will continue to dine at Cha Cha's frequently.
Cha Cha's Latin Kitchen serves up Hispanic Cuisine and the prices are not bad either! Thanks Breastie for the invite to Family Dinner Night. I opted for the Shrimp Ceviche after an entire day of eating. It was more on the Tomato Side and there was a kick from the black pepper. Not as good as Shrimp Ceviche from a Madre but not bad interpretation either. The chips that accompanied it were not bad as well. Solid place, great for Happy Hours!
Hello to all! Returned yesterday for taco Tuesday. Ordered the short rib tacos with rice and beans and queso fundido with chorizo. They were as always so delicious. You guys gotta try them. You won't be disappointed.
Updating my review since it's been a while. I love Cha Chas! They excel at everything, from food, to drinks to service, you name it and it's 5 stars. At our most recent visit, we tried the queso fundido appetizer and it was absolutely delicious. I also tried their limited time hibiscus margarita and it tasted so good. Our server was excellent and provided great service, and excellent recommendations, including the new margarita. Needless to say, we will be back here in the future.
This is a great spot to enjoy Mexican fusion cuisine during lunch time. On weekdays, they offer an amazing lunch special for $14. You can select two dish from their lunch special menu: -1 chicken OR cheese enchilada -1 chicken flautas topped with mango salsa (very mild) -salad -1 taco (chicken, steak, carnita or wild mushroom) This will come with a side of beans and rice. I ordered their chicken flautas and chicken enchilada. I honestly couldn't finish it so I had to take it home to finish. The value is amazing, especially during these inflated times. The staff is very attentive and welcoming. We were taken care from the moment we walked in, to the moment we left the door. Lively decor and a beautiful bar right in the center. Came here for the first time on Wednesday and had their happy hour menu at the bar, it was good and they offer chips with 2 salsas! I'll be sure to stop by more to experience their dining/dinner service, as i loved the enchiladas. I will say, my flautas were not crispy so I didn't enjoy them as much, but still really excited to come here again! A lot of people were there, clean and tidy, kind staff.
Cha Cha's is a favorite when choosing a fancier restaurant for happy hour or dinner. The decor adds energy and was thoughtfully selected. The service is excellent and each person we encountered was friendly and welcoming. They truly care about the customer experience and welcome feedback. It feels like they have the right amount of menu options and everything we ordered was well made and delicious! I've been here a few times and each time has been a great time.

Hot inside. Was the air conditioning even on? I saw fans blowing hot air around......... The heat gave me a headache. It was so warm inside the restaurant. I feel really bad for the people drinking alcohol. Very unpleasant. The food was alright. I like the fresh guacamole and chips. The guacamole had good flavor. I ordered the cheese enchiladas with green sauce. It was super hot when she brought it to the table. The cheese enchiladas were stuffed with cheese. That was good. It tasted like Oaxaca cheese though, not my favorite. I prefer mozzarella or cheddar. Rice and beans were good. My husband ordered the empanadas. He said they were just "okay." He wouldn't order those again. He also got the brunch special for $30. It came with pozole Verde and asada with an egg. He didn't care for the pozole but liked the carne asada. Overall, just alright. My friend and I ended up stopping for dinner here on our way home from LA. We really didn't expect much, but to our surprise it was pretty good. The service was excellent. The drinks are freaking delicious. I got the cucumber margarita and my friend got the watermelon, they were refreshing and mixed well. I had the enchiladas trio and she had the carne asada tacos. Both plates were yummy, except I didn't care for the chicken enchilada. Just wasn't for me. The crab and cheese one though, omg. Plus the price point is surprisingly decent which is always a win especially in this economy. Cha Cha's is going to be in my regular rotation of restaurants now. Thank you! read more
Large and spacious restaurant. We arrived at 1 pm on a Thursday. We were given a choice of patio or inside seating. We were told that if we sat inside, we can choose from the Happy Hour menu. If we choose to sit outside, we could not do so. Naturally, we chose to sit inside. We were immediately served fried tortillas and two kinds of salsa. The tortillas were fresh and crispy and the salsas (green and red) paired it perfectly. I ordered the shrimp and crab enchilada plate and my friend ordered three tacos (carnitas, shrimp and beef) from the Happy Hour menu. For some reason, the server misheard me and thought I ordered a shrimp taco and one crab enchilada. So, when my order arrived, I told him that I was supposed to get two pieces of shrimp and crab enchilada instead of one. Unfortunately, my friend already ate the shrimp taco, thinking it was her order. In any case, they brought her three tacos and my extra crab enchilada. They took out the shrimp taco from the bill. The enchilada was packed with crab. It was delicious! My friend really liked her tacos. We were both happy campers. I was so looking forward to this meal and it did not disappoint. Chacha's Mexican Restaurant is so good. I got the salmon plate and it was amazing cooked perfectly and full of flavor. Just a heads up though, it does have a slight sweetness to it, so if you're not into sweet-ish flavors it might surprise you. Personally, I loved it because it was different from the usual and really well done. Definitely coming back to try more items on the menu. The customer service is good too. FYI parking is accross the street towards the very end make a right before the stop sign and park on the parking structure. It's free. read more
Had a great Friday night dinner at Cha Cha -Brea with friends. The place is pretty busy and loud but the service was fast. We were seated in less than 10 mins with a reservation for a party of 6. Our server is so nice. She gave recommendations and check on us regularly. Ordered carne asada, shrimp/crab enchiladas and it taste really good. The watermelon mocktail drink is so refreshing. For dessert we tried the Tres Leches cake with coconut and their Cha Cha flan. Love that the desserts are not to sweet and still hit the spot. Overall it was a great dining experience. Came here for happy hour on a Friday night and it was so good! Their menu has a wide variety of food and drinks that are all for a great price. The happy hour is all day Sun-Thurs and 11:30-7 on Fri-Sat. We got the tacos (steak, shrimp, chicken), sopes, empanadas, chicken flautas, ceviche, and ahi aguachile. Returned for Friday night happy hour and loved it! The bar has a great patio where happy hour pricing applies. We ordered flautas, queso fundido with chorizo, tacos, and of course, margaritas. The flautas were my favorite--crispy outside, soft inside, and packed with flavor. The queso fundido was a little greasy from the chorizo but still tasty. Tacos were just okay. Met up friend a friend for dinner and drinks on a Wednesday night at Cha Cha's. When we arrived for our 7:30pm reservation, we were promptly seated in the outdoor patio. Our server came to introduce herself shortly after. After looking at the menu, we put our drink orders in. Word of caution, drinks have a generous pour! It was a one and done kind of night. Chips and salsa were brought out, and it took all the power I have to not go through the entire basket before ordering my dinner! Food: I ordered the chicken enchiladas (50% off!) with a side of sour cream (additional $3.50!!). Chicken was plentiful and everything was really good. Cha Cha's in Brea is, without a doubt, my favorite restaurant! My family and I eat here almost every week, and every single visit reminds us why we keep coming back. The food is consistently incredible. Their chips and salsa are absolutely addictive, the salmon is cooked to perfection, and the carne asada is one of my all-time favorite dishes. If you're looking for something refreshing to drink, the hibiscus lemonade is delicious, and if you're in the mood for a cocktail, their lemon martinis are fantastic! Eh. It's LOUD at night. I was yelling at my mom across the table during our entire meal. Servers were nice. Parking was easy. Food was weird and not great. I love goat cheese and a short rib taco with goat cheese sounded like a great idea-it wasn't. Too messy. Everything was too spicy for my mom. She didn't eat much of her meal. Came on a Wednesday and ended up with 50% off enchiladas!!!! They also have a nice patio area and great views of downtown brea! Crispy Calamari and Shrimp ($16): 5/10, not that much actual calamari and shrimp on the plate. There were some fried chiles, onion, and I believe zucchini. So, portions of actual calamari may be slightly deceiving. The side sauces were pretty good! Chaquitos ($16): 7/10, decent appetizers, basically smaller version of taquitos/flautas Three Enchiladas Combination ($26): 8/10, yummm yum yum! It's okay, I mean that's the easiest way to sum it up. The food is nothing special or unique, the flavors are pretty basic and standard, there wasn't anything mind blowing about it. The portion sizes for the tacos are good, which was the biggest bonus. My girlfriend didn't enjoy how strong her drink was and noted that it was a bit much. And for 25$ I think she was expecting more The inside is pretty dated as far as looks go, it's a big place with plenty of seating both indoor and out. The service was average, again nothing special or anything. If you want basic overpriced "latin" food then you'll love it. If you're looking for GOOD food, might as well skip it and look for something else especially for the price and how the quality was below average. read more
