    Short rib chilaquiles
    Karina M.

I was excited to try this place because of all the hype, but unfortunately it didn't live up to expectations. We were seated quickly on the patio with our dog, which I appreciated. However, the service was surprisingly slow, especially considering the patio wasn't busy and we arrived before noon. No one offered a water bowl for our dog despite the sunny weather, and we ended up opening our own umbrella because no staff member checked on us. Even getting water refills took much longer than expected. As for the food, it was underwhelming. The French toast was very dry, and the chocolate drizzle completely overpowered the dish. The red chilaquiles lacked flavor, the short rib was just okay and nothing memorable, and both the beans and rice were disappointing, with the rice being mushy. The biggest letdown was the cucumber Spritz cocktail. It tasted mostly like plain club soda with very little flavor. Overall, I don't understand the hype. While the seating was quick and the patio was nice, the slow service and bland food made for a disappointing experience, and I wouldn't return based on this visit.

came in the afternoon and we were seated right away, not crowded at all. churro French toast was so delicious, flavorful and filling. it's not overly sweet. service was friendly and quick. place is very spacious with lots of seating. overall, would love to come back again.

Overall was okay just because it did take some time to get our food. Since we were sitting for about 25 minutes before we got our food. The hash brown chips sounded interesting but it is just potatoes that they cut into really small pieces but they werent crispy. Main problem is my girlfriend went to the restroom and it wasn't restocked yet with any paper towels. She went before we ordered they said they would get on it. After we finished she went again but still wasnt restocked yet so not sure if they forgot or was really busy.

Churro French Toast, Chocolate Velvet Pancake, Breakfast Burrito

I love coming to Toast Kitchen & Bar. It honestly feels like a little hidden gem, and every time I visit it reminds me why I keep coming back. On our last visit we ordered the breakfast burrito, velvet waffles, and the churro French toast, and everything was really good. I have to say though, the breakfast burrito is easily one of the best I've had. It's actually the one thing I always order whenever I come here because it's just that good. It's hearty, flavorful, and super satisfying, making it the perfect brunch dish. The velvet waffles were also great. They weren't overly sweet, which I personally like, and when paired with the cream cheese frosting it created a really nice balance of flavors. It felt indulgent without being too heavy. The churro French toast was another highlight and had that warm cinnamon sugar flavor that made it feel like a fun brunch treat. The restaurant itself is also really spacious inside, which makes the whole experience feel relaxed and comfortable. It's a great place to come with friends and actually sit, chat, and enjoy your meal without feeling rushed. The staff are also very friendly and welcoming, which always makes the visit even better.

Leaving a follow up review here. Went for Mother's Day brunch and even though the place was packed they served the food quickly and didn't rush us out. The eggs benefit were still great. Always a favorite.

This is a great spot to have brunch with friends. The inside is spacious and can be great for groups. I think their coffee and cocktails are solid. Their plates are massive and shareable. I wouldn't say the food is great. It's just okay. I've had their green chilaquiles. They come with Spanish rice and black beans. It wasn't a standout dish, and I wasn't a fan of the rice or beans. My friend loved her Spanish omelette and the house potatoes they're served with. I went on a Friday morning and we were sat right away. However, I have seen it packed on weekends, so you might have a wait depending on the window you visit. The staff wasn't inviting. They felt a bit cold. It's pricey spot, but I recommend sharing a plate since they're massive.

Came here for breakfast with my son. I have passed by this place so many times and I finally made it inside. You have to be careful not to pass it since there is only one entrance to the parking lot , if you pass the entrance you will have to make a U-turn and come back. We didn't think we would get seated fast because the parking lot was pretty full. But we got lucky and were seated right away. Service is pretty good , they have a lot of people working here. The place is really big and has a lot of seating. It was quite busy. I ordered a Spanish omelette and my son ordered the blueberry pancakes. My omelette was ok, it had way too much peppers and I didn't see the cheese , it comes with a side so I went with country potato with onions and bell peppers. I only wish that it included some kind of toast. My son's pancakes were ok, they are only topped with blueberries we thought the blueberries were going to be inside the batter or inside the pancake. He had to add a lot of syrup to make them soft. The one thing I will say is that the house coffee is very good. It's Lavazza coffee which is really good. I wouldn't mind coming back and trying some other options or coming back for lunch or happy hour.

"BET" This is a Hot spot it will not disappoint go ahead and Book your breakfast/brunch reservation on Yelp otherwise you will find your self and your family waiting! Ask to sit at Luke's tables he is super awesome! Friendly, attentive and helpful! Leo is the manager he is also super helpful and nice! Food is pretty good our family favorites are Steak and eggs with Country fried potatoes! FYI you might want to request your waffle not be overcooked and burnt request soft it takes so much better! The veggie omelette is also a good choice! If you're looking for a restaurant that could accommodate large parties this is your spot! Issa whole vibe!!! Mommy juice if you like vodka get the pear pressure, and request an east side with vodka Bartenders could make Eric and Chewy are the best there as far as bartenders, and if you feel like Tequila get the mescal margaritas a regular customer my husband and I met on New Year's Eve introduced us to this and it is a hit!!! Food was excellent. I got the biscuits and gravy that came with 2 sides of your choice. I got it with hashed browns and sausage links. My husband got their steak burrito which came with a side of his choice (bacon). The food came out quick which we appreciated. Our food tasted great. The place is big, spacious, bright and very inviting. Our waiter was busy but attentive when he could be. I'd totally come back to try their other stuff. We came in on an early Sunday morning and it wasn't crowded (yet). We got seated upon arrival. I can picture this place getting packed though. They do take reservations. I'd recommend.

We came here for my sister's birthday as I had been here for dinner before and enjoyed the drinks and the ambiance. We also love Story, by the same company in Anaheim Hills. Let's start with the service, the reason for the docking of 1 star. My sister asked the server to bring a birthday treat for the birthday girl and they said they would add a candle onto whatever sweet we ordered. We had a reservation for 6 people and were seated in a booth. My sister thought it seemed too tight for 6 so she asked if we could be moved to a table and our server, Luke, was huffy as he moved us to a table instead. Then, he kept forgetting my sister's coffee and she had to ask for it 3 times. He also didn't bring the birthday girl's side of biscuit until she was halfway through her meal. Lastly, he omitted the candle on the french toast we ordered making it super awkward as we had to tell the birthday girl to wait and then go ask them for the candle. The food and drinks however were delicious! I got the spanish omelette which was light enough even though it was 3 eggs. We were intrigued by the hash brown chips which tasted a bit like flattened but crispier in n out fries - pretty good. Someone in our party is vegan and she was pleased to find they had vegan eggs and cheese! The best part was the churro french toast - absolutely delicious with little churro pieces on top! My strawberry gimlet was delicious and tasted like it had fresh strawberries pureed inside. The girl scout was the best non-fruity drink my sister said she's ever had. The spicy margarita was delicious. I'd definitely come back here just for the drinks and some dessert! The guava mimosa was probably the only disappointing drink - tasted like a regular mimosa with barely any guava taste.

My favorite go-to place for weekend brunch! Great location as it is right off the 57 freeway, and very close to the Brea mall. Depending on the time, the wait on the weekend can be very long up to an hour or so. Since I have been here many times, my secret to avoid the long wait on the weekend is to go before the "after-church crowd" IYKYK A simple yet plenty of deliciousness from the brunch menu! My favorites are the omelettes and the benedicts. Though I am a bit sad that it no longer offers the lobster benedict. However you can't go wrong with any of other offerings from the brunch menu. Everything tastes freshly made, and good portions as well. On my most recent visit, instead of the usual omelette or benedict, I had the brunch burger (8oz beef/chorizo patty with slices of bacon and fresh avocado, a fried egg sunny side up, all on a brioche bun). Just added another favorite to my list! Great service and ambience as expected during brunch/lunch hours. Decent price for high quality and good portion size. Again, on the weekend, it can be pretty busy and crowded, and parking wise, one may have to park in the nearby hotel parking spaces, but it's all worth it! Definitely worth checking it out when in the area.

    Classic Simple Breakfast
    Brooke I.

If you're craving traditional breakfast food, this place is great. The vibes were lovely, as the space had a lot of plants and cute decor. Service was attentive and friendly. I was def a fan. Orders: Simple classic breakfast: the surprising star of this meal was my dry multigrain toast. It was a thick slice and had a nice chew. It was how I imagine toasted breakfast bread should be. The eggs, bacon, and potatoes were good too. Large portions size, so I left feeling full. Veggie omelette: a large portion of potatoes and a very hearty omelette. Well seasoned, and filling. Would order again. Overall, we had a great experience!

We went on a Sunday. Get there before 10 since the parking lot does get full and the crowd starts to roll in. Service was great and very attentive. The decor was like it was someone's house with the nice vases and pictures. Looks very clean but homey. This location is a lot bigger than the one they have in Tustin. Food was delicious and definitely would go back.

From the moment I walked in, I was enchanted -- plush tufted velvet booths in dreamy blues, cascading candlestick chandeliers, walls lined with vintage books, and the most whimsical tablescapes I've ever seen. A teapot-and-teacup candelabra dripping with flowers and pocket watches greeted us like something straight off the Mad Hatter's table. Curiosity encouraged, reality optional, indeed. Half the fun was the crowd -- patrons in their finest hats and full Wonderland regalia, everyone leaning into the magic. The black-and-white spiral placemats and mismatched rose-painted china made every corner Instagram gold. We did the **Mad Hatter's Tea ($40 per guest)**, and it delivered both on theme and on flavor. The presentation arrives on a gleaming gold three-tiered stand, and there's a delightful Asian-fusion twist woven through the classic high-tea lineup: - **Goat & feta cheese pinwheels** -- pink whipped goat cheese with roasted beet purée, Genoa salami, and arugula in a spinach tortilla, finished with balsamic and honey drizzle. As pretty as they were tasty. - **Tea sandwiches** -- delicate chicken salad, egg salad, ham & dijon, and cucumber & cream cheese. - **Mozzarella, cantaloupe & prosciutto skewers** -- fresh and light. - **Freshly baked scones, danishes, and buttermilk biscuits** with whipped honey butter and strawberry jam -- warm, flaky, and exactly what high tea should be. - A sizzling **garlic shrimp skillet** with charred lemon and toasted bread that we added on -- savory and satisfying. And the theatrical touches! Each guest gets a **Tea Forté** selection (the Green Mango Peach and White Ginger Pear were lovely), a glass of sparkling wine, and a darling little **"Drink Me" potion bottle** to share -- a perfect Wonderland flourish. STORY is more than a meal; it's an experience. Whether you're celebrating, planning a girls' day, or just want to escape into something beautiful, put on your favorite hat and come play. Some places sit in the back of your mind for years…read more I first came to Macallan Public House more than a decade ago on a date and always intended to return. Life happened, years passed, and somehow I never made it back. Fast forward to today: I was driving my Tesla, jokingly asked Grok to take me somewhere for a beer, and it pointed me right back here. Walking in felt like revisiting a place that had been quietly waiting in the background of my story. The centerpiece is still the incredible bar. Shelves stacked floor to ceiling with whiskey bottles, glowing green tile behind the taps, warm lighting, and enough character that you can spend half your time simply looking around. It's the kind of room that feels both energetic and comfortable at the same time. I grabbed a seat at the bar, watched a soccer match on the TVs, and ordered an Old Fashioned. It arrived exactly the way I hoped it would: large clear ice cube, generous orange peel, balanced and smooth without trying too hard. Just a well-made classic cocktail. What stood out most was the atmosphere. These days I'm much more likely to be exploring hiking trails, photographing wildflowers, or driving mountain roads than spending time in bars. Twelve years ago, places like this were a much more regular part of my life. Coming back reminded me why I enjoyed them in the first place. Good conversation, a comfortable seat, a quality drink, and no rush to be anywhere else. The beer taps looked extensive, the whiskey selection seemed endless, and the entire place struck a balance between neighborhood pub and whiskey destination. Funny how a random AI navigation suggestion brought me back to a place I'd been meaning to revisit for over a decade. Glad it finally did. 5 stars.

My go to meal here is specifically something light and good. Don't want anything too heavy, especially dancing on the dance floor, lol! The Irish Country Salad I posted in the pic has apples, goat cheese, candied walnuts, croutons, frisee, radicchio, drizzled with honey vinaigrette. I highly recommend this salad when coming here! Our server, Devin was pretty good despite the place was packed and he had alot of tables to wait on. My food came out pretty quick and he did check up on our table from time to time which is awesome. Never had an issue here service wise. Wednesday nights are always a fun night here with food, singing, and dancing!

Our server was Ashley and she was so friendly and sweet! She answered all our questions and was very attentive to us throughout the dinner! She even refilled my hot water multiple times, which is SO RARE in a restaurant!!!! The food itself was delicious and had great portion sizes! The appetizers were great (calamari and caprese salad)! Good shareable portions for the table! For dinner, we ordered the short rib pappardelle, which was DELICIOUS and was a hit!!! There was more than enough to split among three people! I had the grilled salmon salad which had a good hefty portion of salmon that was perfectly grilled, on a huge bowl of greens! The restaurant gave my mom a complimentary canoli for her birthday too, which was awesome! Thank you so much for the great food and excellent service! My parents loved it and everyone had a great time.

We didn't get her name but she had glasses and septum nose piercing. She was more accommodating at then end but we were very off put at the beginning and it left a bad taste in our mouths. Our server at our table was the complete opposite. Very attentive and made the group less angry with our initial treatment. Wish I got her name to share. The desert and cocktails were nice but due to the service it did not make up for the overall experience. Desert: Tiramisu 4/5 - great flavor, ratio of cream was too much compared to cake portion Canolli 4/5 - duo flavors were nice and had a good shell with crunch Crème brûlée 2/5 - pistachio flavor was light and it's was almost too warm and liquidy. Cocktails overall some major hits and other misses. Sgroppino 5/5 - strong but with a great flavor profile Dragon fruit cocktail 2/5 - too light tasting, not much flavor or alcohol? Gave more juice Peach Bellini 4.5/5 - table side pour is nice touch and rest of bottle was nice. Syrup has a sourness but mixed in with Bellini and gelato and tasted just right. Melontini - 2.5/5 light, somewhat good flavor but nothing memorable. Ambience seems nice but it can be loud inside with open floor plan.
