We made a reservation for 11am on a Saturday and were seated quickly in one of the booths. However, it took over 15 minutes for a server to take our orders which was disappointing. Eventually a waiter came and apologized as there was a "mix up on the tables." The interior decor is eclectic and moody but the booths, tables, and menus show signs of age. I ordered the filet mignon eggs benedict with country potatoes. I am glad that they were able to do hard poached eggs for my friend as she doesn't like runny eggs. First time trying Toast, and overall we had a good experience. I joined the Yelp waitlist ahead of time and somehow remained 9th in line for over 45 minutes. So I'm still not entirely sure what adventure that Yelp waitlist was taking us on. The guy at the front wasn't exactly serving warm welcomes either. Half orders consisting of one thick piece of brioche bread cut diagonally, and a full order is double that. The batter is balanced somewhere perfectly between subtle and rich. Best of all, this is a very rare place that will give you a lot of extra powdered sugar. The vast majority of restaurants, mistakenly believing maple syrup and butter are the only acceptable french toast condiments, either don't even carry it or won't provide more than the lightest dusting. You can get all the powdered sugar you want here! My favorite item at Toast is the churro french toast. It comes with a sweet butter cream on the side, sliced strawberries, and mini churros on top! I was not impressed. We did get sat pretty fast, but then we waited a long time for the waiter to come take our order. My wife got avocado toast with hash brown chips, which came out cold. I got the classic breakfast, the eggs and potatoes were OK, but the bacon wasn't cooked how I asked. The toast was cold, also didn't come with any butter. I had asked the waiter to extra butter to the table because of my pancakes. We had to wait for it because it didn't come out with the food. Then all the butter was ice cold. The toast was cold and the pancakes were at best lukewarm. Then, when I went to mention this to the waiter and was gonna tell him the few issues, he rudely cut me off and said, let's just handle one problem at a time, and told me that's how butter is, and that's how the toast is, and he could get new pancakes. He was not compassionate. He wasn't nice, wasn't willing to just listen to the customer, and solve my problem just was annoyed that I wasn't happy with my food and didn't wanna listen or help. My sister thought it seemed too tight for 6 so she asked if we could be moved to a table and our server, Luke, was huffy as he moved us to a table instead. Then, he kept forgetting my sister's coffee and she had to ask for it 3 times. He also didn't bring the birthday girl's side of biscuit until she was halfway through her meal. Lastly, he omitted the candle on the french toast we ordered making it super awkward as we had to tell the birthday girl to wait and then go ask them for the candle. The food and drinks however were delicious! I got the spanish omelette which was light enough even though it was 3 eggs. We were intrigued by the hash brown chips which tasted a bit like flattened but crispier in n out fries - pretty good. Someone in our party is vegan and she was pleased to find they had vegan eggs and cheese! The best part was the churro french toast - absolutely delicious with little churro pieces on top! Depending on the time, the wait on the weekend can be very long up to an hour or so. Since I have been here many times, my secret to avoid the long wait on the weekend is to go before the "after-church crowd" IYKYK A simple yet plenty of deliciousness from the brunch menu! My favorites are the omelettes and the benedicts. Though I am a bit sad that it no longer offers the lobster benedict. However you can't go wrong with any of other offerings from the brunch menu. Everything tastes freshly made, and good portions as well. On my most recent visit, instead of the usual omelette or benedict, I had the brunch burger (8oz beef/chorizo patty with slices of bacon and fresh avocado, a fried egg sunny side up, all on a brioche bun). Just added another favorite to my list! Great service and ambience as expected during brunch/lunch hours. Decent price for high quality and good portion size. Again, on the weekend, it can be pretty busy and crowded, and parking wise, one may have to park in the nearby hotel parking spaces, but it's all worth it! Came here for breakfast with my son. I have passed by this place so many times and I finally made it inside. You have to be careful not to pass it since there is only one entrance to the parking lot , if you pass the entrance you will have to make a U-turn and come back. We didn't think we would get seated fast because the parking lot was pretty full. But we got lucky and were seated right away. Service is pretty good , they have a lot of people working here. The place is really big and has a lot of seating. It was quite busy. I ordered a Spanish omelette and my son ordered the blueberry pancakes. My omelette was ok, it had way too much peppers and I didn't see the cheese , it comes with a side so I went with country potato with onions and bell peppers. I only wish that it included some kind of toast. My son's pancakes were ok, they are only topped with blueberries we thought the blueberries were going to be inside the batter or inside the pancake. He had to add a lot of syrup to make them soft. The one thing I will say is that the house coffee is very good. It's Lavazza coffee which is really good. I've visited Toast in Whittier which I wasn't as impressed enough to leave a review but today I came to brunch with my husband, daughter and her boyfriend. We made a reservation and were seated immediately. This location is always very clean and welcoming. We ordered strawberry mimosas, the simple breakfast, omelettes and a burrito with a side of green sauce. Everything was cooked to perfection. The best part of this visit was being served by Thaer. Love that there's a place locally for brunch! It was my 2nd time here. My first experience actually was better than the second time. The waiter was definitely more attentive during my first visit a few months ago, but food tasted better the second time. My omelette was delicious! $25 mimosas is a DEAL!
