1/5 - seafood tower with king crab, oysters, and prawns. The king crab is overly salty at some parts and some of ends were very fishy. Not worth the $175 4/5 - clam chowder. Came out warm. Pretty standard flavor. 2/5 - garlic mashed potatoes were salty and pasty. The potatoes were overworked 3/5 - broccolini still had the raw vegetable flavor in some pieces 5/5 - best dish do the night. We asked for medium rare. It came out more on the medium side but was still very juicy and tender. 5/5 - Chilean seabass. Cooked perfectly always a good choice. 2/5 - 16 oz New York strip. We asked for medium rare and it came out medium well. I started eating the strip on the thicker side and it was still medium at that point. Once I got closer to the center it was dry and gray, no more pink. I mentioned this to the waitress and she agreed it was medium well. Oscar the manager came to apologize and instead of offering to take the steak off the bill, he asked if he should take just half off. I'm assuming he was insinuating that I had already eaten a portion of it. I told him he can do whatever he wants. At this point I think, he realized how rude his question was. He began apologizing profusely and shook my hands several times. Managers are the one that usually fix situations, not make a situation worse. Food rating for this visit is 4/5, but when you factor in Oscar it's a 2/5 experience. I really like this restaurant and I'll probably be back. But, next time I'll have to cut my steak down the center to ensure my steak is cooked correctly.

My boyfriend and I came here to celebrate our 7 year anniversary and boy oh boy were we blown away! The service here is amazing!! The drinks were delish!! I got the Coco Nutz and it was so tasty! Reminded me of a pina colada but upscale! Definitely on the sweeter fruitier side. My bf really likes the Japanese old fashion too! if old fashion is your vibe, definitely try it out! For our main, we got the skirt steak and the trout. The skirt steak was so good my bf would not stop talking about it even on our car ride back home lol. THATS HOW GOOD IT WAS! The marinate is so flavorful and the steak was cooked to PERFECTION! As for the Trout, it was definitely tasty but personally there was too many bones so I would come back for the skirt steak! Don't underestimate the skirt steak! For our sides we got Brussels sprouts and matchstick fries. I also really like the Brussels sprouts. It was crispy, and flavorful and definitely hit the spot. The portions of the sides were pretty big. For the fries, they were massive where it felt like it was never ending lol We also got complimentary dessert since we were celebrating our anniversary and its so cute bc it says "happy anniversary" Overall, i highly recommend this place! We'll definitely be back soon!!

Came here for lunch at 1 pm on our 38th wedding anniversary. The place was practically full of well dressed business types. Even the staff were impeccably dressed. We were seated right away in a booth. We ordered their prefixe lunch for $45 for two - choice of Cesar or mixed green salad and several selections of sandwiches (chimichurri steak, prime rib, blue cheese burger or old chophouse burger). We chose the Cesar salad. Hubby had the blue cheese burger with crispy bacon and I had the chophouse burger with melted cheddar, lettuce, onion and tomato. Before our orders arrived, we were served a lovely small plate of vege crudités ( purple cauliflower, snap peas, baby radish, baby carrots, pearl tomatoes and a yummy ranch dip. The burgers were thick and juicy! Oh my! They came with a ginormous amount of fries and ketchup. We were super pleased with the perfectly cooked, thick and did I already say juicy patty? Oh, they surprised us with a beautiful dessert to top of our celebration. Our servers were also so nice and friendly and attentive. The classy ambiance, superb service and delicious food truly made our budget friendly celebration special.

Love the speakeasy-vibe entrance after entering the front door! Almost missed the actual entrance lol. Parking is a breeze as there are multiple free parking lots/structures in the area as it's located in Downtown Brea. Our party dined at OBCH for lunch on an early Friday afternoon. I'm glad we made reservations, as the lunch rush was looking decently busy. However that didn't affect our dining experience whatsoever, as the service was great! And food was yummy for a modern/trendy American restaurant. Highlights were the Brussel sprouts, filet mignon, and the cheesy potatoes.

Back again and in addition to my favorites I tried the bacon steak (phenomenal) and Caesar salad (delicious). I also tried the berry bomb drink (like a raspberry lemon drop, this may be one of my favorite drinks). I also tried the coconutz which is like a piña colada with whiskey. It was good, more on the sweet end. I preferred the tart freshness of the raspberry drink. Really appreciated the bartenders recommendation on this :) I went for my bday and they gave me a lil bday treat. A delicious chocolate pudding. I really love this restaurant

Excellent steak house that really does give you the "old, classic" vibe and ambiance. Staff are dressed to the nines and very clearly well-trained. The proteins (ribeye and short rib) were cooked perfectly. My only gripe was that my mashed potatoes weren't very creamy nor flavorful, but as leftovers were soaked in the short rib juices and became exponentially tastier. I definitely would return for special occasions.

My brother took the whole family to Old Brea Chop House to celebrate. == FOOD == We each got a steak. I got the 6 oz filet mignon. My parents got other cuts of meat, iirc my aunt got a 16 oz rib eye, and I don't really remember what my brother got. We got some sides: the brussel sprouts (11/10), the wild mushrooms (8/10) and the creamed corn (9/10). We also got 2 desserts: berry tart, and a sorbet. == SERVICE == The waiter and staff were all very nice and friendly. We asked for to-go boxes, and she even labeled everyone's boxes for us. == AMBIANCE == The inside is very bougie. We were seated at a booth in the middle of the restaurant. The bar on the side is very nice as well.

Steak was prepared well - we typically order medium rare. Warm red inside and crispy outside. Bone marrow always adds bonus points for me. Service is elevated compared to your typical restaurant - waiter spilled drinks on our shoes and there was no compensation except "we're sorry". That's fine. Ambiance was classy, dark and well lit at the same time. On par with any modern steak house. Would return again.

We found this spot through Amex's Resy and decided to celebrate our anniversary here! The restaurant entrance is located inside the improv doors to the right. We checked in for the reservation and got seated pretty promptly. The waitstaff were kind and professional. We decided to order the Brussel sprouts as our appetizer and they were delicious. I had the 12oz skirt steak with a side of prawns. You get 3 prawns for $9. The steak was cooked to medium rare as requested, but it was salty as all hell. We also shared a side of wild & field mushrooms, which were also fairly salty. We did not bring this to the attention of the staff however, because we hate to send food back. The whole head of grilled garlic was a major bonus though! The rainbow trout was full of bones, but that's to be somewhat expected. They wipe your table and take crumbs in between courses, which is nice. However, I happened to visit the ladies room and came back to wet seat after they wiped the table. This was dissatisfying. At the end, we were offered a chocolate budino cup to celebrate our anniversary. It was delicious and we're grateful the restaurant helped us celebrate, our waitress even offered to take our photo. Overall, for the price you're paying, service is good. Food? I'm not sure I'd come back if Amex wasn't subsidizing my meal.

There are not too many places in the immediate area like this. The only other place similar would be The Summit House. You could throw The Cellar in the mix, but I'd rather not. That place feels dated and claustrophobic, so I don't like to recommend it. If you are looking to go to a more upscale place with better service, then check this place out. In any case, I've always have great experience coming here. The food and service is always great and consistent. This is definitely a place that caters towards meat eaters, less than vegetarians, but there are options for us non-meat-eaters. I usually order the Cauliflower Steak, which is one of the best that I have had. The beat salad is also very good. They have a bunch of sides you could also order to get you through the meal. But don't expect any entres that cater toward vegetarians. The menu is all meat and the specials were all seafood. The drinks here are what you expect to find at a place like this. I always get the Old fashion. Its good, but nothing to write home about. Pricing is what you would expect. Its a nicer restaurant so expect to pay. Glasses of wine are around $20 dollars, but the pours are generous. We arrived at 5:20 PM on a Saturday evening and found seating at the bar. Didn't have any reservations. YMMV.

We've always considered ourselves regulars at Chop House and truly love the experience, but unfortunately, today really soured that for me. We had a 3:30 reservation and were seated early, ordering three appetizers (caviar, the special fried rice, and bone marrow) along with two entrees. While the bread and caviar arrived promptly, we were left waiting roughly 40 minutes for our hot appetizers to follow. During this time, a table seated after us was already deep into their main courses. A manager did come over to apologize and mentioned internal issues in the kitchen, and while we appreciated the transparency, we expected a bit more in terms of a resolution at this price point. When the rest of the apps finally arrived, we were so hungry we just dug in. I had specifically asked the waitress for the mushrooms on the side of the fried rice, but they came mixed in anyway. I didn't even bring it up because we were just too hungry to wait any longer. After some more time passed, we asked if our entrees were close. Our waiter then asked if we still wanted a "traditional three-course progression" for our meal. Under normal circumstances, absolutely! But not after a 40-minute gap between the cold and hot appetizers. At that stage, the pacing was already non-existent. The final straw was seeing tables that arrived way after us already settling their checks. We completely lost our appetite and decided to cancel the rest of the order. They were very gracious about it and only charged us for the caviar, which we did appreciate. This has never happened to us here before, but at a high-end steakhouse, you're paying for consistency as much as the food. Tonight fell extremely short of that standard. I left very disappointed, especially since we always order caviar and some form of steak. I really hope they can fix whatever internal issues are going on.

We couldn't find a reservation so we chanced it on a Friday night. They offered open seating at the bar - if sitting in the back behind the bottles, it's full service. Fortunately, when we arrive, they had two seats available at the bar area so we were seated immediately. Our servers, Sam and Andre, were very attentive. They greeted us almost immediately with water. And got drink orders in a timely manner. My drink was not very good, hence I don't remember the name - something something Fist (Strawberry with tajin). We also had an old fashioned and that was delicious. The tomahawk was tasty, well cooked. The barbecue shrimp was full of flavor, the bread helped absorbed all the yummy goodness. The brussels sprouts were crispy and soft inside, as I expected in a Brussels sprouts. We had a nice time and def recommend.

We have come here for drinks a few times before. We decide to have dinner here before improv show next door on a Sunday evening. Place was packed and very loud. We got seated next to bar area so it was rather cramped. The menu was classic steakhouse food. We decided on clam chowder, chopped salad, chilled lobster, filet mignon, whole branzino, potato au gratin and key lime pie. For beverages we had hot tea, sparkling water, champagne and martinis, also espresso shots. The food was very fresh and delicious, portions were good as well. They offered us a little dessert for our anniversary which was nice. One of our servers was a sweetheart, she did most of the work taking care of us. The other just took orders and dropped check, he wasn't the most friendly. Overall we liked the food but not service. It was not up to upscale steakhouse standard. Not sure we will be back for another full meal!

Bone Marrow Mac n' Cheese -really cheesy but not overpowering, paired well with the decadent bone marrow. However, it was a bit heavy that we ended up taking the rest to-go. Sides that came with Prime Rib weren't my favorite but they were decent. Creamed spinach not much flavor, liked the creamed corn better. Yorkshire popover was not that great, a bit too crisp on the outside that it seemed dried. Our table asked for au jus poured overtop and it helped a bit but still quite dry. English Trifle -syrup that cake is soaked in made it quite sweet. If you don't like wet mushy cakes you won't like this. Caramelized almond brittle helps bring in some extra texture.

Horrible experience and extremely poor customer service…read more On Father's Day, my husband wanted to try this restaurant for the first time. Unfortunately, it turned into one of the worst dining experiences we've had. We were seated on the patio and waited for 15 minutes without a single employee approaching our table. Not one server, host, or staff member stopped by to acknowledge us, offer water, or even let us know someone would be with us shortly. We actually timed it from the moment we sat down until the moment we left. What made the situation even more frustrating was that we were seated in the middle of the patio in plain sight. We watched multiple servers and staff members standing around the service station, chatting, sipping drinks, and looking around. Meanwhile, guests who were seated after us had their orders taken, received water, and were even served appetizers before anyone acknowledged our existence. For a restaurant charging premium prices, this level of service is completely unacceptable. On Father's Day of all days, when families are trying to enjoy a special meal together, the lack of attention and basic hospitality was astonishing. After 15 minutes, with my husband and son both hungry and frustrated, I walked up to what appeared to be the manager or owner and informed her that we were leaving because no one had come to our table. Her response was that she "wasn't aware." Frankly, that's not an acceptable answer. If you're managing or owning a restaurant, knowing whether your guests are being taken care of is part of the job. I have traveled extensively throughout the United States and internationally, dining at everything from small local establishments to high-end restaurants around the world. Out of the countless places I have visited, this experience easily ranks among my top 20 worst restaurant experiences. Not because the food was bad--we never even had the opportunity to order--but because the complete lack of service and awareness was that shocking. To make matters worse, after leaving, we went to North Italia. Within a few minutes of being seated, a server greeted us, acknowledged the Father's Day rush, offered us bread, and genuinely seemed concerned when we explained what had just happened. That simple act of hospitality immediately changed the tone of our afternoon. That is how a restaurant should be operated. That is what good management, training, and customer service look like. You make guests feel welcome, valued, and taken care of--even on one of the busiest dining days of the year. This restaurant, unfortunately, did the exact opposite. We left disappointed, hungry, and genuinely stunned by how poorly the situation was handled. Will we return? Absolutely not. There are far too many restaurants that appreciate their customers and understand the basics of hospitality for us to ever give this place another chance.
