I don't usually try to leave bad reviews because I understand things happen, small business have it tough, etc. But when you as a manager are outright rude and inconsiderate. While ordering, I asked the cashier regarding a kids pancake which comes with an egg and an option of either bacon or sausage. My family eats only halal, so neither of those options would work for us. Therefore, I asked if there could be any substitute like hashbrowns or fruits. (I don't think it's unreasonable) the girl behind the cash register was new and so still in training, and didn't know how to do the substitution. So She called over the manager, Antonio, who came and very rudely goes "oh we're not going to do that." "You don't have to get that, etc. I was pretty annoyed and offended and literally didn't want to deal with him anymore so I told the trainee to go ahead and still ring it up just hold off the meat and asked him to leave since I didn't want to communicate with him. Our order arrives. Food is mediocre at best. We ordered the avocado toast, veggie omelette and a kids pancake with drinks to include juices and an iced caramel latte. My son who loves pancakes barely eats his because it's burned at the bottom. He refuses to eat. I then asked the server (same girl from the front), if she can remake the pancake since it's burned and my kid isn't eating it. She takes the plate away and says yeah we can do that. 5 mins later she comes back and says, the manager said, "that you would have to repurchase another pancake and that we wouldn't remake it" i don't like to make a fuss nor do I usually try to make issues for establishments but I think that a request to remake a kids pancake when the one you initially made was burned is reasonable for me to ask. so when my husband intervened, and spoke with the manager, his reply was, "I don't want to remake the pancake," when my husband asked him why? "I just don't want to. We have plumbing issues and I have the right to refuse service to anyone" The point though is we paid for a service that was not provided adequately. And when a business works on the ground of no ethics and courtesy, I find it fair game to let the public be aware that this is how they run things, letting them deal with the consequences of their actions. read more

DH said the coffee was bitter but we just couldn't be mean and tell them to remake it. My scrambled eggs had too much white and were soft but that's just my preference-well scrambled and cooked hard. Brunch & Beyond has been open for a few weeks now and have been on my bookmarks since they opened. I finally had the chance to try them twice this past week. My first visit was on Sunday (4/12) at 9:30 AM to dine-in and my latest visit was this morning (4/17) at 7:30 AM for take-out. Here's what I've tried so far: **Chilaquiles Divorciados with Ribeye: This dish was the reason I wanted to try B&B. I was leaning towards getting salsa verde but the guy up front recommended that I order it divorciados which is salsa verde and salsa rojo. The salsa verde was great but I wasn't a big fan of the salsa rojo. The salsa rojo lacked flavor and spice but it was nothing tapatio couldn't fix. My gf who grew up in East LA agreed with me with the lack of depth with the salsa rojo. The chilaquiles itself was good and possibly one of the better ones in the Orange County area. The only other downside besides the salsa rojo lacking flavor include the chips being too crispy all the way through. The ribeye was prepared at a perfect medium rare and the presentation was spectacular. Loved the addition of the radish served on top. (4/5) **Classic Omelette with Ham: The omelette itself was good but it was boring since it lacked vegetables. There are other options for vegetables in the omelettes but not with their sausage. We both wished the hashhbrowns were crispier but it is what it is. Overall, great omelette. (4/5) **Sausage Breakfast Burrito: Solid, hefty breakfast burrito. Loved the pico inside which enhanced the flavor but the ratio of hashbrowns to everything else was too much. On top of there being a lot of hashbrowns, it was very salty. The salsa verde was chunky (just the way I like it) and very flavorful. I enjoyed the kick from the habanero salsa. (3.5/5) **Cinnamon Roll: I was initially disappointed by the size for the price you pay but it smelled so delicious on the ride home. It also doesn't look like there's enough icing on top but the overall flavor was really good. Not Polly's Pies level of greatness but still very solid. (4/5) **Iced Americano: Wanted to try an espresso based beverage since they have a full on espresso bar around the corner. It was prepared fairly quickly and was above par. (4/5) Once you enter on the right side of the restaurant, you order, pay, get your number, and get seated wherever you'd like. It's not full table service but everyone dining in was taken care of by all the front of house staff. Every single person we interacted with during our dine-in experience was great along with my to-go experience. The food is really good and the prices are very fair. The main thing that stands out about this place is their spectacular service. I will definitely be back in the near future to try more of their menu. This may be my new favorite local breakfast spot. The strawberry matcha was AMAZING. It was hands down the best I've had in a while! They made by hand in front of me with ceremonial grade matcha, and it wasn't overly sweet. It was smooth, refreshing, and paired perfectly with brunch. They also gave freshly squeezed orange juice, which was nice. Normally brunch places have gallon orange juice, but they have a huge orange juicer where you can see them make it fresh. We ordered two coffees, a matcha, the chorizo omelette, chilaquiles divorciados (to try both the red and green sauces) with added tender seasoned ribeye and avocado, and a chorizo breakfast burrito; and honestly, everything was delicious. Great flavors across the board and portions were solid. My only caution: the red chilaquiles sauce is VERY spicy. And I say that as someone who can handle spice fairly well. My boyfriend and I came here for the super spicy Chilaquiles and Antonio (the owner) let us know that the kitchen is still working on their recipe, and toned down the heat and the recipe is now perfected. Antonio (the owner) demonstrated a concerning lack of concern for both food quality and professional customer service during our visit. The following is based solely on our firsthand experience: 1. We ordered the kids' pancake, which includes a choice of bacon or sausage. My wife explained that our child cannot eat meat and politely asked whether a non-meat substitution was possible. Antonio refused any substitution and told her to order something else, even though our child only wanted the pancake. 2. Our child ate about half of the pancake before saying it tasted bad. My wife and I turned it over and discovered that the entire bottom was burned. 3. We notified our waitress, who was courteous and immediately agreed that the pancake was burned. She took it back to the kitchen, but later returned and advised us that the owner had refused to remake it despite its condition. 4. The waitress appeared genuinely apologetic and even offered to pay for a replacement pancake with her own money. We appreciated her professionalism but declined because it was not appropriate for an employee to personally absorb the cost of correcting a customer service issue at the fault of the owner. 5. I spoke directly with Antonio to provide constructive feedback. Rather than addressing the concerns professionally, he repeatedly interrupted me and offered several explanations: (a) he was having a bad day because of plumbing issues; (b) he simply did not want to replace the burned pancake; and (c) because he was the owner, he could decide whether to allow substitutions. 6. Throughout our conversation, Antonio was dismissive and argumentative rather than receptive to feedback. When I advised him that I intended to leave an honest review reflecting our experience, he loudly responded, "I don't care," in the middle of the restaurant, within earshot of other customers, before walking away. The most telling part of our experience was that our waitress attempted to correct the situation at her own personal expense after management refused to do so. That reflected far more professionalism and customer care than we received from the owner. After reading other reviews, we noticed similar complaints regarding rude customer service. Based on our own experience, we found those concerns to be consistent with what we encountered. We cannot recommend this restaurant. The combination of poor food quality, refusal to correct an obvious problem, inflexible customer service, and an owner's dismissive attitude left us with no confidence that customer satisfaction is a priority. read more
