Hello friends! Today, I discovered a hidden gem in Fullerton, CA, called Palapas Que Huevos (PQH). Have you ever woken up feeling a bit groggy and needed that extra boost to kickstart your day on a positive note? I think I've found the solution at PQH. We were welcomed by the warm smile of Jennifer, who was incredibly helpful throughout our wonderful experience. So, where should I start? We kicked things off with the Cafe de Olla, which was perfectly balanced and not overly sweet. It really gave me the jolt I needed! Seriously, you must order that first. Next, we tried the "Los Chilaquiles" with extra eggs and carnitas, along with the "Trio Sopesitos" combo. Can you believe the generous portions we received? Wow! Be careful with your choices because I left feeling stuffed and still had to take some home! Trust me, the menu doesn't do justice to the portion sizes. Don't let the prices mislead you! As you can see, I was thoroughly impressed not just with the food but also with the fresh, made-to-order meals no pre-made dishes here. Oooooooh this place hits!!! I am down bad for wet burritos, and put a chili relleno in there- oof I am yours. We also got some chips and guac, omg yum. Everything tasted so fresh and authentic with so much flavor. Great portions too! Our server was very sweet and helpful in making sure we could have what we wanted but vegetarian style. There is a cute outdoor patio as well as indoor seating, and a big parking lot for the restaurants in the center. Great spot for Mexican food! read more

This place was pretty good overall, and honestly the hype wasn't far-fetched. The birria had really good flavor and we genuinely enjoyed the food. The customer service was also great -- she was super friendly, personable, and made us feel welcomed. I do feel a little bad leaving this review because it could have honestly been a fluke or an off day. That being said, both my husband and I got sick afterward, and the birria was the one thing we both shared. I have a pretty strong stomach and rarely get sick from food, so it really stood out to me. My husband only had a couple of bites and still didn't feel well afterward. Aside from that experience, the food itself did taste good, which is why I'm still giving 3 stars. read more

Came by for some tacos, haven't been here in quite some time and decided to do something different. Had a couple of carne asada tacos and while they were not bad they just aren't enough to keep us coming back, there is too much taco competition locally and other options. I was very disappointed. I used to always come here for the tacos and they never disappointed. I think it's under a new management because the tacos were not good. The carne asada was dry and overcooked. I got beans and rice and rice was also dry. My sister got the chicken nachos and we shared and the chips and chicken were very greasy , I had a really bad stomachache afterwards. I wouldn't come here again: the only good thing was the cashier lady who was really nice but they took 30 min for our food. Palapas Que Huevos is a good spot to try out. I loved the customer service and did enjoy my meal. One thing I will say is the asada wont be everyone's favorite. It's tough to chew and not the greatest. But everything else we ordered was tasty! The flan was delicious and perfect for someone with a sweet tooth. Breakfast is served ALL DAY! This place used to be a taco joint that we used to frequent often when it first opened. We were craving chilaquiles and this spot came up. They have a good variety of chilaquiles options: different sauces and proteins. We got the chilaquiles verdes cremosos with carnitas and the poblano breakfast. Poblanos are mildly spicy but full of flavor. They were served over a corn tamal that was so delicious and reminded me of the corn tamales from my little town in Mexico (Guerrero state). These tamales don't have any filling but are so delicious! Their beans were tasty as well. They are very generous with the protein. We also tried their cafe de olla. Loved the spices on it but it was a little too sweet for my taste. My husband asked to top his with regular coffee and that's how he fixed that problem. Server kept checking on us and made sure we had everything we needed. This is a great place to visit if you're craving chilaquiles. If you're hangover, I suggest the menudo, although I haven't tried it. They also offer alcoholic beverages. read more

The place was empty but the server stated she had just gotten over a rush. When I received my food I was very disappointed. The meat was tough and had no flavor. It tastes like it was reheated in a microwave. It had a lot of fat. My tortillas were hard. After receiving my bill I noticed that I was charged different than what the menu stated. I questioned the server about it and she said I could call or come back the following day to speak to a manager as she was alone. I definitely will not be returning to this place. I decided to try the place next door to take food home and the same thing happened. I was charged a different amount than what was stated on the menu. This is my favorite Mexican food brunch spot in OC! I'm so glad I found this place on Yelp. I absolutely love love LOVE their chilaquiles a la Diabla with some mimosas on the side. It's so hard finding a place that serves SPICY chilaquiles and their a la Diabla ones are perfect for people like me who love SPICY food. Their customer service is amazing too! Every time I've gone with my boyfriend the waiters are all extremely friendly and do an amazing job. I bragged about this place to my mom and finally had time to take her Sunday morning and she absolutely loved the food and service. I have to say this place is amazing. My wife and I come to eat lunch or dinner each time we are in town visiting our daughter. Their Carne Asada has one of the best seasonings I've had at a Mexican Restaurant. The flavors on the tacos and nachos are amazing. Oh and my wife loves their shrimp tacos, specifically El Gobernador which the tortilla is crispy and the seasoning on the shrimp is amazing. The Sopes are some of the tastiest Sopes we've had. The portions are perfect and enough to get someone full. The place is clean, fresh and the staff is very friendly. Oh the chile is spicy just like it should be for those who love hot and spicy chile. The only thing I wish they had was the selection for fountain drinks but that is not a deal breaker for me to stop going there I'm pretty sure I can live with their bottled drinks and their homemade Mexican "Agua Fresca" I would recommend this place to everyone. read more

We stopped in for a late lunch and we were not disappointed. We have wanted to stop in for a while now and I'm glad we did. I tried the steak quesito palapa and baja fish taco. Both were amazing. My husband ordered the birria taco plate with rice, beans and consommé. The flavors were spot on and the food presentation was so pretty. Stephanie, our server, took great care of us.
