Chilaquiles verdes

Had breakfast here for the first time. The green chilaquiles were delicious. Definitely will come back in the future.

Really wanted to give a 4 star review to this well maintained place cause staff really nice but can't get passed cold food. The chicken tacos were freshly made n hot but rice n beans were far from it. Enjoyed our meals but nothing memorable... people who like food not being overseasoned, this is for you. Chips fresh n tortillas good. First time here so if there is a 2nd visit may be different outcome.

We came to El Molcajete Loco for Sunday dinner and weren't disappointed. The staff were friendly, polite, and went over the menu with me, which was helpful since it was my first time eating here. Now let's talk about the heart and soul of El Molcajete Loco, the food. The menu boasts an array of authentic Mexican cuisine that transported my tastebuds to various levels. Each dish we ordered was a culinary masterpiece with a perfect blend of flavors and textures that showcases Management's commitment to quality and authenticity. In conclusion, El Molcajete Loco is a must when craving good food and this spot succeeded our expectations. We'll definitely be back!

Had a great experience here at El Molcajete Loco the other day. My dad was raving about the menudo they sell here and though it was a bit out of the way from where we live, it was definitely worth the drive. I just want to start off by saying that the workers here are really great. They greeted us warmly when we came in and let us sit down where we pleased. They told us what they had on the menu and what dishes are popular. They even let me turn the volume of the TV down because it was so loud which I liked a lot. So many other restaurants get so touchy when it comes to the tv lol. There was one worker in particular, Nati, who really went above and beyond. She was so sweet to us and made sure we constantly had everything we needed. I say it's great that they have workers like this in here because it makes customers feel a lot more welcome. It was some excellent service all around. The menudo was also one of the highlights of our visit here. In my opinion, it's very difficult to get this dish right. They offer it in many places here in SoCal but I would say I have yet to have it someplace where I really liked it. But here it was really great! The broth was great as it was not too smelly or rife with condiments. The tripe was also cooked to perfection. This is one of the most important parts because this is the part that is hard to get right. Sometimes the meat is too hard or too chewy or soft but here it was just right. I was even pleased with the size of the bowl as it was a rather fair portion. Something else I enjoyed about this place was the cleanliness. It was very clean and the tables shined bright as did the floors. Aside from this, there was also running AC in here which is always welcome, especially in this heat we have been having. If I am ever in the mood to have some menudo, I would most definitely come here and have it again and perhaps try some of the other things on the menu. I felt welcome and satisfied with my meal and this is what matters!

Stopped in for breakfast for the first time at this spot. The place seems to be new and had only one other customer at the time. Big and wide dining area with sit-down table service. The free chips are amazing, fresh out of the fryer. The salsa is mild and plain. Ordered a coffee and it was pretty bad, way too bitter. Tasted like instant Nescafé. The chorizo plate was great! Everything was flavorful and good quantity too. I will be back but I'll be passing on the coffee.

Honesty this is a hidden gem but this carne asada plate with shrimp was so good that I even forgot to take a picture. The shrimp was perfectly cook and the seasoning was in point I recommend this place. We got Michelada have no complains about it!!!! And the ambience is perfect customer service is great!!!! And the salsa for chips it's perfect spice and flavor!!!!. I will be retuning to this place if you feel like doing karaoke it's open to the public.

Waiting 30 Minutes already not a good first impression turn off your open sign

I came in as a recommendation and all I see is they're open but a brb paper in Spanish on the window with an open led light on. I waited about 40 minutes to see if someone will show up to open up n nothing so I just decided to just leave. Be professional n turn off ur sign if ur not open so people don't stand outside in the heat for almost hour thinking someone will open soon. I honestly will not waste my time to even come back to actually try the food

Very clean restaurant, shrimp cocktail very delicious. The quesabirria tacos are amazingly delicious. You must try. The michelada was so so good, not spicy at all. Definitely will come back again to this place. Kid-Lupe

Plato De Mole

This restaurant was clean and nicely decorated And a lot of seating available inside There was nice Hispanic music playing A friendly lady approached me Handed me a menu Told me the weekly specials I ordered chicken mole to go The portion size was good I was told mole was her mothers recipe Everything was hot even the tortillas The chicken was the tender and mole was delicious It was all I ate and the tortillas I give this a 9/10 I was disappointed that the rice and beans had no flavor Beans didn't taste fresh at all Total Price 18.17$ I'm not sure what the extra dollar was for? This wasn't mentioned when I payed for the food It's really hard to find good Mexican food to eat

Coctel de camarones

Oh. My. LORD - this place is AMAZING!! Like seriously, come try it. Anything. All of their food is so delicious and beautifully presented. My boyfriend and I FEASTED here. Attached are pictures (not pictured were agua frescas and two tacos) I had the quesa Birria tacos and they were absolutely the best. I told my boyfriend if I go to prison and end up on death row, I want those as my final meal. Now about the service...literally the nicest people ever. We walked in and they greeted us like family. We asked what they recommend and their eyes lit up like Christmas lights. They gave us suggestions and recommendations and all of it was spot on! They're so kind and generous. 10000000/10 need to come back again!!!

Rice, Beans, Pepino Agua Fresca, Birria Queso Tacos

OK So understand that for me a 4 Star Rating on a first visit is excellent. I will be back and I will hope that I will have justification to up the review to a 5 Star. Service and Hospitality flat out were a 5. I couldn't have felt more welcome. As is my habit I always ask what the manager or my server recommended. I lucked out and got the owner Jose and he recommended the Queso Birria Tacos as soon as I asked if he had Birria. They were solid. He has a solid selection of Aguas Frescas and recommended either the Jamaica or the Pepino. I went with the Pepino and it was good. I ordered a side of beans and rice and they were good and you could tell they were fresh made. I had leftovers which Jose packed for me as soon as he saw that I was full. Like the line from TERMINATOR that Arnold made famous, "I'll Be Back."

We're in town on a business trip, and I have a feeling this is about to become our nightly dinner spot. The food was absolutely delicious--fresh, flavorful, and everything you want when you're craving amazing Mexican food. But what really made the experience special was our sweet server, Louroles. She was such a delight! So friendly, welcoming, and she even surprised us with a few extras just because I'm "sweet"... LOL! That kind of genuine kindness is something you don't forget. If you're anywhere near La Mirada, I highly recommend stopping by. Great food, wonderful service, and a place that instantly makes you feel like family. We'll definitely be back... probably tomorrow night!

The chilaquiles looked great. They were decorated with garnish but as soon as you bit- argh disappointing. :/// The chef is heavy-handed with salt, the red sauce that was supposed to be "spicy" tasted like salty tomato paste. Sauce had no flavor :/ The worst thing was that they were swimming in sauce that made the chilaquiles soggy. The kiss of death. Chilaquiles are supposed to be crunchy not soggy. If they were crispy when they were made they were killed by the sauce flood. My hubby had the burrito & said it was ok. I just saw all the grease of the chorizo ozzing from his burrito -gross (strain it people!) Moral of the story: Keep looking for good chilaquiles, this is NOT the spot!/

Even though the restaurant is small and busy, we were seated right away, which was a great start. Our waiter Washington, was fantastic, friendly, attentive, and made our whole experience even better. The atmosphere was perfect too. They had music playing at just the right volume and a big TV showing the live Dodger game, which the kids loved. We started with chips and salsa. The salsa had the perfect level of spice for everyone at the table. The kids ordered horchatas and were excited about the unlimited refills (something you don't always see at other restaurants!). The drinks for the adults were just as impressive. My wife's watermelon margarita on the rocks was perfectly made. It was not overly sweet or syrupy like at some places. Our friends had the "El Jefe" margaritas, and they definitely didn't skimp on the tequila! For dinner, everything was a hit. The kids loved their meals. Albóndigas soup, shrimp tacos, and street tacos--all served with rice and beans. The adult dishes were just as good. The carne asada arrachera was cooked perfectly, the chile verde was full of flavor, and my chicken mole was delicious with a great balance of spicy and sweet without being overwhelming. The portions were very generous, and everything came with rice, beans, and both corn and flour tortillas. The only small thing I would've preferred differently was the chicken in my mole. I personally would've liked a leg and thigh instead of sliced chicken breast but the dish was still very good overall. What really stood out was the hospitality. At the end of the meal, Washington offered us "holy water"-house tequila shots on the house--and it wasn't cheap tequila either! Then after the bill came, he surprised us again with another round of "holy water". That level of generosity and care really impressed us. We also learned that the restaurant has been there 20+ years and is family-run by him and his siblings, which made the experience feel even more personal. You can tell they have a loyal customer base--one couple even said, "See you tomorrow Washington!" The only feedback we'd offer (coming from a customer service background) is that we noticed a few guests waiting at the entrance without being greeted, and one couple actually left the restaurant. A simple "Welcome, we'll be right with you" would go a long way. That said, it didn't take away from our experience. Overall, amazing food, great service, generous portions, and a welcoming family atmosphere. We will definitely be back to try more of their menu!

However we were going either way because it was also our featured DJ's birthday. We made reservations but that was difficult too as we called for several days until someone actually answered the phone. I was a little surprised because the food we ordered were all pretty tasty, decent portions, and reasonably priced. The service was ok. Orders took a little time to arrive, but they made sure we had chips and salsa and with a full crowd and a limited number of wait staff, they made sure we were still being attended too. It is very loud here with a full restaurant of diners, the live DJ and football games going with loud cheering fans, so if you have sensitive hearing, bring some ear plugs.
