    Sumo taco

One of thee best taco trucks out there to serve good quality meat. They are so friendly and have a small menu, but that's a good thing because that means that's what they specialize in . The carne asada was delicious! The chicken tacos were delicious! One of their most popular food items is the sumo taco. It's hugged by a cheesy goodness instead of a tortilla and served with a side of chips. It's a little messy, but very filling. You guys got to go check them out. They go by a different name now: Sumo tacos

Stopped by as we were looking for street tacos, it is dark where they park and the truck may be hard to miss! I'm glad we gave it a shot, because the food is great and the staff are incredibly nice. They even made us a small version of the sumo just to try it. We went on taco Tuesday so the tacos were only $2 each. Please consider putting some chairs/tables and more lights for people to sit and eat so you get more visibility from the street! Coming back for the nachos and fries for sure :)

I'll take some tacos, The Sumo & a bev for here, please

During the summer months, Cali Tacos Please is a great place to catch some rays & tacos with the fam or at the end of a long shift. Cali Tacos Please has a chill atmosphere and is family-oriented. The last time I visited, the grass was green & the sun was shining. Service is what you'd expect; friendly, genuine, and super lovely--in an authentic LA food scene type of way. Everything is homemade with fresh, high-quality ingredients The carne asada fries pair incredibly well with an ice-cold Coke; it is the perfect combo. My body shook, and ideas flowed through my head as I digested my meal; it was THAT good. Cali Tacos Please uses prime BEEF, which is rare in street tacos. Chefs kiss to the man behind the tacos Everything here has the perfect amount of crisp, spices, and flavor. The Chicken is well marinated as well Alej absolutely blows this fare out of the water and puts a twist on it. Carne asada fries, nachos, TACOS, cold drinks & mulutas. The Mulita's smack & Taco Tuesday's smack even harder.

The food is delicious!! The asada is top quality no hard or fatty pieces, most of all the service is always really friendly which is a rarity these days! The complimentary chicken taco speaks to that!

Best tacos in Whittier, hands down! My personal best is the chicken but the asada is top notch as well.

Great food! Staff was wonderful. Definitely worth it…read more Burria was fantastic. Not tons of seats, but good enough.

I went on a taco run yesterday to try to find the best taco in Whittier…read more Started off the run with a keto taco mixed with asada and al pastor and then a regular tripa taco. Keto taco - toasted/grilled cheese instead of a regular tortilla - needed to be done a little more on one side as the cheese wasn't quite toasty enough to stay in place to slightly resemble the shape of a taco. Bit hard to eat, covered my hands in grease. Asada tastes almost boiled, and this being my 2nd or 3rd time getting the Asada here, it consistently tastes like it was boiled and not grilled. Unsure of meat quality or preparation, but there are no grill marks and it's a bit chewy. Same with the al pastor. Tripa taco was bizarre. Strips of flat skin instead of the usual roundish, cylindrical shape of tripa (intestine). Usually a saltier, fattier meat than asada, which is my preference but the one here was lacking in flavor and the texture threw me off a bit. Tripa can be chewy - unless requested extra done, which is how I normally order it - but there was no saving this tripa. I think it needs to be sliced differently, the cuts made it inedible. Brother shared some of his chorizo taco and it was the better of the bunch. Red chorizo, TJ style, although it was also lacking a teeny bit in flavor... onions and cilantro to the rescue! Still, mediocre. Salsas were ok, nothing out of the ordinary. Don't think the tortillas were homemade. Service was fine, cashier takes your order, dude at the counter was chill and had a friendly attitude. Seating was limited. Mostly bar style seating but the majority was in front of a window and it had so much heat trapped from the glass that it was kind of uncomfortable. Other seats are too close to the bathroom. Good for a quick bite or just pick-up orders. Wouldn't plan a sit down/dine-in visit. Parking is scarce and has really small spots, wouldn't come if you're driving a pick-up truck or anything like that. Food was reasonably priced, which is good, however; the food was lacking so I would not return.

The idea was to enjoy my coffee while getting organized--paying bills, planning calendar events, and having the opportunity to focus without any distractions from my usual surroundings. In search of the perfect spot, I turned to Yelp, a reliable resource for uncovering hidden gems nearby. Upon stepping into the coffee shop, I was immediately greeted with warm hospitality, setting the tone for a delightful experience. The ambiance of the place was truly captivating--it was bright and welcoming, infused with an aesthetic charm that instantly put me at ease. I couldn't help but be intrigued by the design elements throughout the shop, which added an inviting touch to its overall atmosphere. Before I settled in, I asked the staff if I could snap a few photos to capture the essence of this delightful space. They graciously welcomed my request, and I was shown to my table, which, quite uniquely, was designated by a number--a small detail that I found charming. As I browsed the menu, I encountered a small conundrum: I wasn't entirely sure what to order. I wanted to break the mold and try something out of the ordinary. My curiosity was piqued by their exclusive offering of Café de la Olla--a traditional hot drink that piqued my interest right away. I ultimately settled on a hearty plate that included rice, beans, and enticing potato tostones, accompanied by two beautifully cooked sunny-side-up eggs. As I waited for my order, I noticed the café was filled with the sweet sounds of old-school music from the '60s and '70s, which only enhanced the cozy ambiance while I sipped my drink. Now, let's talk about the food! I must say, I rated the café itself a solid 4 out of 5 for its overall charm, while the rice earned a respectable 4 out of 5. The beans were rich in flavor and received a fair 3.9 out of 5. The potato tostones, delicately bathed in a savory red sauce, stood out with an impressive score of 4.3 out of 5--these are a must-try if you visit! And as for the sunny-side-up eggs, they were good, but hey, eggs are eggs, right? Overall, the entire experience was quite enjoyable, from the delightful food to the warm atmosphere. A special shout-out goes to Ana, whose exceptional customer service made my visit even more memorable. The combination of fantastic service, inviting aesthetics, and satisfying food truly made for a perfect morning retreat. I can't recommend this spot enough for anyone looking for a relaxing place to unwind and focus on what matters.
