How they got my other card information (linked to a credit union) through my Chase account, I have no idea but I strongly advise you do not use their services. If you must, pay cash. The salsas also tasted fresh, but they were pretty bland and had almost no spice or kick to them. The biggest disappointment was the premium arrachera burrito. For $17.50, I expected the meat to be the highlight, but instead the burrito was mostly rice and beans. The filling was also very soft and mushy overall. The arrachera itself was chopped into tiny, fatty pieces with very little flavor, and it got completely lost among the rice and beans. It didn't have the grilled, seasoned beef flavor I was expecting from a premium burrito. Maybe this is the new standard, or maybe California food costs are forcing restaurants to cut corners to keep prices where they are--I honestly don't know. But at $17.50, I expected a lot more meat and a lot more flavor. I don't mind paying premium prices for premium food, but this just didn't feel like a premium burrito. The fresh ingredients, fast service, and friendly staff were all appreciated, but the burrito itself didn't live up to the price or the reputation.

We decided to go to the Whittier night market off of Whittier Boulevard. Not really a night…read moremarket, but pretty close. Located off of the frontage street, by a grassy street divider, this is a spot to enjoy the eats on the grass like a picnic. I opted this spot, which has a IG of cali tacos please, but no longer exists. This spot on yelp was referred to as sumo tacos. The workers were friendly and very helpful. The sumo fries was delicious. The asada itself was unique. It had a smokey flavor which separates itself from other spots. It appeared to be cooked on charcoal, but given it is a food truck, that would be hard to pull off. The sumo taco was something different. It's cheese melted like a tortilla which holds the asada. It was very heavy, greasy and difficult to enjoy. The chips was a plus where you can rip the taco and place it on the chip. If you want something heavy, this sumo is for you. A bit heavy to my liking, so you might want to try a regular taco or burrito. But then again, it's called sumo for a reason. Curious if this spot would experiment with gorditas, a crisp tortilla. I think their filing would knock this out of the park. I also wish they would advertise what drinks they have. Nonetheless, worth a try.

When we saw the long line, we figured that was usually a good sign--and we were right! Luckily, the line moved pretty quickly. They have a lot of options to choose from, but I went with the tacos al pastor, a mulita de asada, and a quesabirria. I also grabbed an horchata. Everything was delicious, but the handmade tortillas really took the tacos to another level. You can definitely taste the difference! The salsas and grilled onions added even more flavor, and despite the line, it was definitely worth the wait. After a long game of futbol, this was exactly what we were looking for. I would definitely recommend Tacos Los Carnales. Whenever I'm back in the area, I'll definitely be coming back!

If you're looking for some late-night tacos, stop searching. You found the spot!…read more They have plenty on the menu, but I'm a creature of habit--I stick with the tacos and burritos. Plenty of meats to choose from, and everything I've had is juicy, packed with flavor, and served hot. The staff is always friendly and the service is surprisingly fast. And don't let the line scare you! Yes, they get BUSY, but these guys move. By the time you make your way through the onion, cilantro, and salsa bar and convince yourself you definitely need "just one more salsa," your food is usually ready. Many nights they're making fresh tortillas right there on the side. Fresh, hot tortillas + juicy, flavorful meat + some jammin' salsa = late-night happiness. At that point, calories don't count anyway. One of the coolest things has been watching this locally owned business grow. I've seen them go from a modest used roach coach, to a shiny new white roach coach, to a fully branded and wrapped roach coach...and now the man has REALLY upgraded! Huge detached mobile kitchen being pulled by a brand-new Super Duty truck. My guy went from taco truck to taco EMPIRE! And you know what? Good for them. They've earned it. Fair prices, clean setup, great food, fast service, and they treat their customers right. There's a reason they always have a line. Keep doing what you're doing. I'll keep showing up hungry!

[Ambiance & Amenities]: This taco shop doesn't have the sexiest decor. There are 7 indoor tables, one ATM, and old-school toy vending machines. One unisex restroom available.
