My wife was craving a hot dog and this place popped up I wanted to give it a try. I got two hot dogs the steak one and the original. Both were good but dry. Didn't have much to go crazy about. My wife added mustard to hers and I added some ketchup to try to liven it up. Bread is very thick and makes the dog feel even dryer. Service was not great there was several employees but order took longer than I was expecting. The vibe in there is ok music was too loud seemed like a speaker was blown so wasn't too pleasant. The older man with the salt & pepper hair was very rude. The truck was out of everything & somehow he made it seem as though it's the customer's fault for ordering anything at all. I ordered asada fries he snapped that he had already told me they were out of that & chili, He had only mentioned the chili outage as he barked it to the group in front of us but whatever I still ordered a street dog. Upon receiving the dog I asked if they had forgotten the bacon because mine had none. He starts yelling from the front of the truck that he had told me they were out, HE HAD NOT & HE CHARGED FULL PRICE FOR A DOG THAT LACKED TOPPINGS. He then comes to the back of the truck & keeps telling at me. Frustrated at this point with his rudeness I snapped back that he didn't say anything about bacon to me. That just because he was tired of repeating himself over and over to everyone all day didn't make it okay to yell at me, I gave him my money for food not his attutude. ($40 for things that were not discounted for their shortage.) **if you are unprepared and run out of product half way through an event that is your own damn fault, not the customer's** keep being a dick to paying customers & your business is gonna reflect it. read more

I'll make a long story short. Our school decided to book these guys for food truck night. This was the only truck serving food the kids would actually eat. They decided to cancel on us last minute because they could make more $ at La Placita Olvera for El Grito event in Downtown L.A. I for one can understand you want to make the most money as a business owner, but your word should mean something. I have never had their food and never will. Leaving a bunch of kids like that hungry is bad business or at least it should be. read more

I visited this place for the Lakewood Malls Friday food trunk event and the place did not disappoint. The man who helped us was very nice and helpful. He explained what each hot dog had and helped us pick one that fit our craving. The fact that they're all bacon wrapped and you can build your own hot dog is great. We had the TJ dogs and Carne Asada fries and both were delicious. Filled with toppings and we'll worth the price. Great local hot dog truck to hit up on your way home from work or dont feel like cooking dinner...head on over. the owners are nice and the truck is clean with a lot of options. the dogs are good quality and always cooked well. i personally dont like the buns they use. they taste a bit low quality but its still a solid dog and very convenient. and you cant beat it for $5. anyone who thinks that's a steep price is not used to the price of eating these days. ask for the frequent eater card too. read more

We decided to get food from here because it was the only truck with a short line and it had veggie dogs. We accidentally stood in the pick up window for 5 mins, even though the employees saw us, they didn't say a word. We ordered 4 plain dogs and total came to 11$, which I thought was affordable. I don't really write long reviews on here but this one I couldn't hold back. Never in my life have I ever dealt with such an UNPROFESSIONAL MAN. I was at my aunts elementary school for a movie night and they hired this piece of junk food truck. So when I come to the window to get my food he asked me for a little number which I never got. He starts cutting me off and not letting me finish talking and being extremely rude. Than he started accusing me of stealing the number and that I had to pay 5$ for it even tho I NEVER GOT IT. And I hope your reading this and feel stupid when you found it in your truck. So I started getting frustrated and rude back. That's when he got off his truck and in my face trying to intimidate a girl. Pathetic. Can't believe this place still has a 4 star average. I was excited to try out this truck as there are not many good hot dog options in the area but I have to say, I was greatly disappointed. For what they charge ($16 for two hot dogs and one order of regular fries), I expected much higher quality. In all honesty, the all-beef dogs at Wienerschnitzel beat these guys in the flavor department. Beyond the lackluster food, the service was absolutely appalling. It seems that there is one individual who tends to treat paying customers like garbage as the "older man" with "salt and pepper hair" seems to be mentioned quite a bit in other negative reviews. I guess I just had the misfortune of being served by this legend. We'll call him "S&P" from here. First, I looked at the two windows on the truck that were clearly labeled "order here" and "pick up here" like any other food truck and there seemed to be no line. "Great" I thought, hoping this would be quick. Unfortunately, after placing my order and paying up front, the cashier (not S&P, who was manning the grill) informed me that I could pick up my food behind the truck. Once I walked past the pickup window and to the back of the truck, I found a group of about 12 people waiting for their food. I suddenly realized this is gonna take a minute. After waiting about 10 minutes, S&P made an announcement that they had ran out of chili but would be heating up more. He then left the truck and returned about 5 minutes later clutching a huge can of what looked like Hormel chili from a grocery store. One of the dogs I ordered was a chili dog so I figured I'd just wait because how long can chili take to warm up? While waiting for my food, I witnessed S&P mouthing off and giving attitude to any customer that asked for extra condiments or napkins and even saw him yell at a woman for asking if he could cut a hot dog in half for her kids (it literally took less time for him to cut it then the time it took to yell at her about it). Finally, after about 20 minutes of waiting, my number was called and S&P tries to hand me one hot dog and an order of chili fires. I told him that the order was two dogs and regular fries and he actually started arguing with me about what I had ordered. Bear in mind that this guy didn't even take my order or even double check with the cashier before basically calling me a liar. After I pointed out that they didn't seem to have a problem taking the right amount of money for my order despite the fact they may have wrote it down wrong, he told me it would be a few more minutes. After letting the first hot dog sit on the counter getting cold for ten more minutes, he finally emerged with the second dog and the fries as I ordered. I guess as a cost saving measure, this truck likes to cut their containers in half so they serve hot dogs with no lid. I get cutting corners where you can but I was actually taking this order home so I needed lids and a bag. There were the standard "thank you" bags hanging in the truck so I figured this wouldn't be an issue but when I informed S&P that I needed lids, he angrily shot back: "You should've told me that form the get go!" I thought that "for here or to go?" was usually asked by the cashier when taking the order if you serve differently for each but being that this issue took all of 2 seconds to adjust after his tantrum was over, I felt it wasn't a point worth making as I had already wasted 30 minutes in 90 degree heat waiting for this meal and was frankly sick of hearing S&P run his mouth. Once I finally tasted the food, the flavor unfortunately matched the service. The dog itself tasted like cheap grocery store stuff (think Oscar Meyer, not even the all-beef kind), chili was right out of a can and the fries came from a frozen Smart & Final bag. Don't really know what positive reviews are about but for $16, this place was ludicrous. Any street vendor outside of a concert outdoes these guys any day of the week and for about half the price. Guess I'll just have to stick to Wienerschnitzel or hope that a Berkley Dog opens up in the area sometime soon. Avoid this truck like the plague. read more
