We been here twice, and both times were really good times. The wife and I stopped by and wanted some birria tacos and a burrito, usually what we get when we get street food. The people were nice and had a lot of options for salsas, unlimited guacamole, beans, grilled onions and more. The price was a bit in the higher end, we got a a burrito Al pastor, 4 birria tacos and two drinks and it was $40. But it's worth it to us cause all the sides they offered. One of my fav taco stands to go to. Their portion of tacos are pretty big compared to the other stands I've been too. They definitely put in a good amount of meat. My go to is their pastor and tongue tacos. The el pastor is very flavorful and they always give a good chunk of pineapple. The tongue is very tender. The carne asade has a nice smokey flavor. i've always wondered if this place was good because I would always pass by this on my way home and there will be open till like two in the morning so we finally caved in and made a quick stop for some dinner and I got some burritos and let me tell you these are one of the best burritos I've found in Whittier. They are so juicy flavorful and huge also and I love it because you can package your own beans and salsa. The salsa are great they are pretty spicy which I love and very flavorful not bland or water down. Service was great really sweet and knowledgeable. Whether you get the owner's young kids working the register or the owner himself, they are always so polite, kind and welcoming. The Al pastor is my favorite in either a taco or burrito form. Have been passing this taco stand over the recent years, and was like this place is always packed whenever they are open. It's time to try it. They have a food truck located on the south side of Whittier Blvrd. They have their hot tops outside for taco meats and a food truck for everything else. It was ridiculously clean and you would never associate that with a food truck taco stand. Staff was super friendly and the whole purchasing process is streamlined, tacos to the left everything else from the truck. I tried two things the Al Pastor taco which was Incredibly seasoned. I put some onion and cilantro and didn't have time to put anything else on before it was gone. Their Asada Torta was really really good. This taco truck/stand is super authentic and the bomb!!! They get pretty busy on weekends and late nights but we got there right when they opened around 6pm on a Friday so no line. First thing that caught my eye was that their authentic tortillas. They have dough and make their tortilla from scratch and you can definitely taste the difference in quality!!! Was crusin' on Whittier Blvd when I saw the long lines at this taco spot, I knew I had to stop if there were that many people waiting in line. What I Got: I ordered 4 tacos: 2 Asada, 1 Chorizo, 1 Cabeza. Out of the three meats, the I would say the Cabeza was the best, followed by the Asada, and then Chorizo. The meats are well cooked, and everything tasted fresh. Yes, the tortillas are hand made, yes they are a little cold as others have said (-1 star). The tacos are served plain, and you are given a bag with onions and cilantro for you to put on there however you like. The salsas were okay, the jalapenos were spicy AF, and the grilled onions made up for me burning my mouth! Location: There is plenty of parking, but with everyone standing around, driving through the crowd can get tough. I usually pull up in the lot next door and go through the back to park. There is no designated eating area so you either eat by your car or you take it to go. Notes; They have quite a selection of meats. I had such a good experience here. The tacos were good, I got to eat them hot and the tortilla melted in my mouth. I have no complaints of any meats I have tried here before. I love all the variety of salsas and toppings they have. What made my heart happy was we get to pack up our own warm grilled onion, chiles asados, and beans. Everybody who works here was very friendly which I really appreciated. I like that it is in a well lit spacious area and parking was not hard to find.
