The interior is small so finding seating can be difficult. I went on a Friday at 12ish and all the tables were full so I just ended up getting it to go. The chicken enchiladas were very good and I loved their take on salsa verde. I don't know if this place has stop caring, but it was definitely not the same. Food. : my burrito wasn't very good, unfortunately and it took a long time to get. I hate leaving reviews like this but it wasn't good. My wife and I got the breakfast burrito and it was super soft because they drown it with beans to make it seem bigger and it makes the whole thing soft to hold. It took for ever for us to get and the only thing we could taste, was beans. The bacon was soft as well. For $30 bucks, it's not worth it. Only thing that was good, was the salsa! Green is fire. Tried this place for the 1st time & It'll be the last time, customer service wasn't that great and the food wasn't very flavorful I got the alpastor soft taco & a sope with asada over flowing with lettuce the beans taste like they were canned beans. I went there this morning to pick up a breakfast burrito. It comes with your choice of meat/protein; bacon, sausage, ham or Machaca, (which is shredded beef with bell peppers). I ordered the bacon and it comes with eggs and beans. I'm pretty sure the bacon was the chunky type or the bacon ends. If you will. Once in a while, I would come across a big chunk of bacon, and it was very tasty. Not to mention, they serve that thing piping hot. I could've left it there for an hour and still came back and ate it hot. Keep up the good work guys. The chicken burrito is my favorite. Easily the best burrito in Whittier and that salsa verde is . Hector and team are always friendly and have nearly committed my order to memory. My parents are older ate at this place from Dec - February and recently told me the bad experience in their last visit . The last time they went to dine there they viewed a sign that said buy (two plates and get one free after 4pm). They asked the owner why they had not been given the third plate like the offer says in prior visits before like three times they went to eat after 4pm . They were never told by anyone .The owner said we are removing that tomorrow and brushed it off and was sarcastic he didn't even care . He also does not like Hispanics talking Spanish treats them differently my parents where speaking that language . Some white people came in while my parents were eating and gave them free soda instead same day . This is the type of guy that is just pimping a Hispanic restaurant but despises them wants whites only ... ironically he is a Hispanic.... Don't go here just a greedy restaurant owner. This place won't survive long in business in this economy probably why he has no issue doing stuff like that . No successful person treats people differently. The guy likes losing money because my parents were spending good amount those 3 visits now they will never be back rightfully. Goes to show you not everyone should own a business. About 4 or 5 years ago I used to come here daily during the summer to get a large iced tea. They're the only place I know of that sells my favorite (China Mist Fiesta Fria). Sometimes during those daily trips I'd pick up a taco or nachos. The about 3 years ago I moved up north, and I the only reason I had to visit that area of Whittier was to do a doctor's appointment. Then about a month ago I moved back down to the area, and well, I had my doctor's appointment today. I walked in about lunch time and ordered me some tacos and tea. I see over the years their menu has expanded (now with menudo and chilaquiles)!.The tacos are a wonderful mix of avocado, meat, and onions. I lived in Whittier for a really long time and this was only my second time trying this place, and oh do I regret it. My parents come here all the time and just yesterday they suggested for us to order pickup from here and it was the best decision! Do order ahead of time as they do take about 20 minutes to have your food ready depending on the time of day. That's because every meal is made as you order. They don't precook their food here so you are guaranteed a freshly cooked meal every single time! It doesn't get better than that! I ordered the shredded crispy tacos, and they were delicious! The tortilla was crunchy, the taco was full of meat and potatoes and fresh lettuce and cotija cheese! It's one of the best tacos I've have in a long time! The rice and beans are also very good and I recommend for you to get them along with your meal as well. I don't think they're allowing dine-in right now due to Covid, but obviously you are able to make pickup orders. The gentleman here is very friendly and always offers a great service! The hubby and I tried this hole in the wall gem today and were amazed at the flavors. Definitely some of the most flavorful salsa we've ever had at a restaurant! The shrimp fajitas were amazing. My husband ordered the burrito charis (half asada in red sauce and half grilled chicken in green sauce) and i couldn't stop picking at his plate. That should have definitely been my first sigh but I hopped into yelp and saw a few High ratings. Was rolling solo for lunch and thought I'd finally give this place a try. Tried heir Carne Asada street tacos which were very dry. Came with beans and rice and the beans were crunchy. Also tired their hard shell shredded beef taco which was very dry and strangely had a lot of potato in it. Also, they don't nickel and dime you here. They dollar you, I.E., $1 for a credit card transaction, $1 for a small drink refill. To top it off, they are not very friendly here which surprises me due to the lack of business in the restaurant. You would think they'd be thrilled to have you there. Would not come back here and regret not going a little further east on Whittier Blvd to one of the superior Mexican restaurants. read more
