So we've been to this restaurant before for celebrations, never had an issue before, the food is good and we've never had bad service until today. It's Father's Day so we did expect a little wait we were a party of 7 which is usually our party size, we get there at 5:20pm we waited about 10 min to be seated which we were like ok that wasn't too bad, the waiter comes to the table at 5:41 to take our order which we ordered drinks and food at the same time like I said we've been there before and normally get the same things, so we order and wait, the waiter brings chips and salsa about 3 times at 5:58 he comes and does refills and says our order is almost ready we said ok and the waiter was nice and we were laughing and joking with him, at 6:02 a party of 4 shows up and I noticed that they knew someone there and they got seated at a booth right away I'm assuming that was maybe their usual booth because it seems they already had it ready, they got their order taken right away and got their food around 6:25 so when the waiter came back I asked why they got their food first and he said oh they had simple plates and that that's how they do things in the kitchen which I saw their plates and it was basically the plates we ordered aside from my shrimp cocktail, I was like hmmmm then he's like of your order is coming out in a few minutes, we wait longer I'm looking at the waiter wait in the other tables, mind you it wasn't too packed, it's now been literally almost an hour since we ordered so as patient as we are we got frustrated and all walked to the front to speak to the lady which we tell her just charge us for the drinks and we're gonna leave, she says oh now they are plating your food I was like it's ok we would Like to leave and just pay for our drinks, she looked at as all rude and said just to leave! The other day I had some tacos here. Good tacos. Salsa was on fire. Ice tea was great. Service was amazing. My Spanish is elevated when I dine here. The Dodgers were winning and the ambiance was great, the man selling jerseys was there and I bought a Mexico jersey from him. My back was to the door, but I could hear change on the table. The food was good. I ordered an especial burrito and the shredded beef was tender juicy, and there was hardly any fat on it which I love. I will say I wish I would've got it smothered in their mole sauce because my mother ordered the chicken mole plate, which was super good. Had a chocolate with a pinch of spiciness to it so good can totally tell it was homemade. Service was great and was able to speak English fyi. Love this place, the employees are so friendly, it feels like family. The food is out of this world. Chile verde, steak picado, nachos, shrimp cocktail are the best. MIL went in to pick up food, which was prepared and visibly near the counter. Waiter said let me take care of these other customers, even though our food was already ready-just picking up- and we were there first. Continued to ignore my MIL (even the other customers told the waiter to take care of her first) so she got upset. Other worker (or manager) came out to support but made things worse by saying it was her fault for coming in with a "bad mood" and escalated the situation. Service was absolutely terrible. Great food and excellent service! We have been customers since it opened. So many favorite dishes.

I am an epileptic man I also suffer from anxiety before I never had any problems attending this restaurant and taking my support dog with me. My dog does not bark growl or cause ay type of disturbance to anyone, but now I wasn't welcome at Casa Jimenez because I brought my support dog with me. It's bad enough feeling outcast by people who criticize me because of my epileptic seizures and to feel the same way when I come to have a meal it's just not right. My support dog keeps me calm and helps me by letting me know when he detects a seizure is about to happen dogs are very smart and this is why my Doctor prescribed me a support dog I did not buy a letter on the Internet and I carry my doctors letter with me at all times, but Casa Jimenez didn't care to even ask they just said I could go in with my support dog. read more

Was there this morning eating breakfast with my family. Took a bite out of the beans and a long piece of hair came out of my mouth. Told the waitress just to let her know and then she became very rude and started raising her voice at me and said it was my hair. She went to speak to her manager and when I went to pay her manager was very rude didn't even look at me and ignored me while I was trying to talk to her. Came here on some advice from a coworker since i was craving some liver and onions. This place did not disappoint. Came here on a Monday with my coworker. Place is pretty open with ample seating. Older decor. Wait staff was very nice, older. All the crowd eating was in there late 50's, or so. So older crowd for sure. Food wise, yes i had the liver and onions plate which comes with rice and beans. Home made tortillas of choice was a plus. Servings were huge. Could probably feed two with the amount of food i got, and was very delicious as well. My friend had the Huevos Divorciados (divorced egg breakfast plate), which came with two eggs, pork stewed meat in green sauce, and beef stewed meat in red sauce and rice and beans.. I tried the meats and both were really good and soft and tasty! Good place if your hungry. I did see a lot of people eating bowls of caldo's (soups), just not sure if it was beef or chicken, but im sure they were good since so many people ordered them. read more

We have been going to Casa Jimenez for over a year. I have tried different plates each time. So far dinner combinations are really good. The American style breakfast with pancakes not so much, but the white menudo is delicious. My husband orders it quite often with a side of fresh, chopped serrano or jalapeño. read more

The interior is bright and spacious and I loved the papel picado hanging from the ceiling and murals on the walls. Service was attentive, and the servers spoke great English. The menu is extensive, though a bit on the pricey side. We ended up ordering medium sizes of menudo blanco and pozole rojo, which were actually decent size portions. I've eaten at this restaurant many times and the food and the service were always good. I recently acquired a service dog and went in there Friday night to eat. The owner kicked me out and said the only dogs that were allowed were seeing eye dogs. I tried to politely inform him that he was breaking the law and that my service dog could in fact be in there and he just kept telling me to get out. I went back today to give him a paper with the laws about service dogs and he just told me to get out again and threw the paper on the counter. I told him he needed to read it because he's breaking the law and he shook his head and said no. I'm a woman in my 70s and it was very humiliating and embarrassing because the restaurant was very full last night. I have never been treated this way and was shocked that he did not know the law, but I felt it was my responsibility to try to educate him so he did not continue to do this to other patrons. Good local authentic Mexican food. My husband loves their red pork pozole and today was like THE PERFECT DAY, for this semi spicy pork soup. I agreed to go but I had a molcajete for one, in mind. I love the molcajete loaded with a chicken breast, skirt steak some butterflied shrimp, chorizo, a cactus cheese and plenty of salsa as a broth which is fired up in a molcajete in the oven. This location is always busy which is a great sign not just of the food but the service which is fast and very friendly. I'm giving them 4 stars today because the skirt steak was tough to the point I couldn't cut it easily with my steak knife and the cactus seemed undercooked and for me the cactus is my first choice to make my taco with the chorizo and the cheese. Not sure why people have negative comments about this place, maybe I went in a good day. I tried this place for the first time on a Saturday evening. Quite frankly, the food was fantastic! We had caldo de pollo. It was so natural without extra grease or condiments like other Mexican restaurants do. The vegetables, the chicken and the rice were cooked perfectly. I looove Casa Jimenez. I take dance classes at the studio next door and sometimes the girls and I will come eat after practice. The staff is always so friendly and inviting. Went to this place early Sunday morning figured we would have a menudo and a michelada , so we ordered our drinks I ordered a negra modelo and girlfriend orders a modelo especial both micheladas come out with modelo especial when I asked the server what type of beer was it she said 'What you ordered' so I replied I wanted a negra modelo then instead of being nice and saying I'll bring the correct one next she brings her co worker and literally argued with me about the beer being correct I said look how light it is ?
