We were out in Whittier for an event and needed a place to get some grub after and The 6740 seemed to tick all the boxes so in we went. First off the staff are so friendly and welcoming. We were greeted, seated and tended to pretty quickly. The pub has plenty of tables and also 2 bar areas. Pretty impressive considering the size but it didn't feel claustrophobic in the least. I picked this place because it has vegan options and wine so I ordered a vegan burger, fries and of course wine. I really appreciated when I gave my order that the server asked if I was vegan and made some sauce recommendations. Order can pretty quickly and my burger was so good. I think they use Beyond if I'm not mistaken and they offer vegan cheese. Wine hit the spot. The fries tasted a bit off. Not sure if it was the oil or what exactly. But the reason for the 3 stars is both my husband and I had stomach issues later that night. Nothing serious...just more like something didn't agree with us. The only item we both had were the fries. I'd still go back but maybe order a different side. There's street and garage parking which is always a huge plus.

If the goal here was to create a fun neighborhood hang out - goal accomplished! The 6740 is a casual, fun, friendly, relaxing restaurant/bar. The kind of place you want to meet your friends at. Booths and tables up front and a bar in the back. They have a wide selection of beer on tap, sports playing on TVs, local art work, fun music. Our server was very friendly and helpful. I tried Los Angeles Ale Works El Ray on tap, a cauliflower taco and a fish taco. The tacos were good. Both taco flavors were very similar. They are both beer battered and have the same toppings. . Another person in our group ordered the rice and beans. They really liked the flavor and spiciest of the beans. We also tried the vegan menudo, spicy and good Nice to see they are environmentally responsible and do not serve your food on plastics. They use reusable plates, glasses, cutlery, even have compostable straws.

We were waiting for the restaurant to open up next-door and decided to pop in and have a drink. It felt like we were walking into a boys club. Maybe it was we'll never know . The vibe is definitely all the cool guys in Whittier. I did see that they have their own rugby team. Which made me feel even more than it was a boys club. By the time we walked out out of the establishment one lady did walk in . We definitely didn't mind being surrounded by men. Regardless we liked it ! five stars

Great place to stop by and have an ice cold drink in uptown Whittier. This place has been around for over 20 years and is always a staple when in the uptown area. Great quick service from the staff. Come by and a drink while watching a game or catching up with friends

Cauliflower bites pair well with a nice Bodega IPA.

My love for this small Bar started less than 2 years ago, when i first tried the Castellum blueberry pineapple Cider, making it one of my fave Bars.. Mike takes good care of his customers! cauliflower bites are real good with the carrot sticks, lightly battered and pair well with a delicious Bodega IPA.. Always good draft here!

Pretty laidback sports bar. Good beers on tap during the evening as well. Been coming here since 2012

My colleagues and I met at The 6740 around noon on a Saturday. It's located in Downtown Whittier, where there are several free parking structures. We called ahead days prior to ask if they could accommodate a large party. When we arrived on the day of, seating was already arranged for us outside and our orders were taken right away. The lady who helped us was very nice and informative about their menu. I ordered the Fish + Chips ($18.50) which I absolutely loved. The batter was crisp, the fish was juicy, and the plate was packed with fries! Even though fish and chips is a pretty common dish, I found myself thinking about and craving this one for weeks after I had it. It's rare that I am in the area, but I hope I get to have their fish and chips again some time.

Our favorite go to in the area for lunch or casual meetups and or dinner , the soups are amazing and you can try any of them , the beer selection is fantastic and we love to try new selections but most of all the staff is kind and friendly and local . The service is quick and ready and often staffed by local owner .

Anyone know if they open early for soccer on Sat/sun?

Only if it's a premium, highly contested game.

If I missed seeing it on the pictures or reviews, I am sorry. But what ingredients exactly are in the trinity sauce for the wings?

Its a mix of sauces. Buffalo and teriyaki.

Do they have live music? (Bands)

They do not... digital jukebox or satellite radio

My go to meal here is specifically something light and good. Don't want anything too heavy, especially dancing on the dance floor, lol! Macallan's has the look of an Irish pub; dark wood, Celtic décor, the whole atmosphere is there…read more But if you're going to lean into Irish identity, the details matter, especially with Guinness. I've watched it poured straight into a regular pint glass with no 45-degree angle and no pause for the proper two-step pour. It comes out flat, with barely any creamy head, which completely changes the texture and experience. Guinness isn't just another draft beer; it needs to settle, and it should be served in a proper tulip or Guinness glass to get that classic presentation. The fix is simple: slow the pour down and train the staff on the traditional method. The pub has the vibe. Now it just needs to respect the pint.

From the moment you walk in, the ambiance hits you. It's elevated, welcoming, and has that perfect balance of modern energy with a laid-back vibe. The food? Next level. Every dish that came out was crafted with intention--you can taste the quality, the creativity, and the consistency. Nothing felt rushed, nothing felt basic. It's the kind of place where you go thinking you'll try a few things and end up wanting the whole menu. I'm new to really exploring more spots around Whittier, and I can confidently say--this is one of those places you keep in rotation. Whether it's a date night, night out with friends, or just pulling up solo at the bar, it hits every time. Do yourself a favor--go check out Guildhall. Thank me later.

It was NOT busy or full and not near closing time. There were no "large parties". After I left for a few minutes, my friend told me that Carrie commented AGAIN about how long we were there (we had appetizers, dinner, dessert and tea!) And said it was slow that night but if it was busy as it normally is, she "would have had to kick us out"!!!! And she "just wanted us to know that". Also, the people who were already there when I got seated were "still there" the whole time we were!! I wonder if she said anything to them?? This was my friend's first visit to The Olde Ship.
